Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe aching. The never ending feeling of pain. It was all I could think about until the purple pony came. The purple pony with the glowing horn, the horn that made the pain go away. That must have been days ago... Where am I?
Boom! The crack of a lightning bolt woke me from my sleep. The first thing I did was perk my ears up. I could hear the rain pounding on the roof, and the wind rushing past the windows and under the door.
"This is quite the storm." Said somepony who was pacing around the room.
Whoever was talking didn't sound like they were talking to me.
"I hope it doesn't wake him up though, he's been asleep for three days, he needs his rest."
Three days? I had been asleep for three days! I thought about getting up, but decided to feign sleep for a while longer, to see if I could learn any more interesting facts from this mystery speaker. Nothing more was said, they just continued to pace around the room. I decided it was time to wake up. I slowly opened my eyes, and a pang of soreness rushed through my body. It was then that I realized that I was sore. Everywhere. I made a small grunt with this realization. I heard hoof steps rushing towards me, it was the purple pony.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm just a little sore."
"A little sore? It took all my magic to keep you alive. I would have sent for help, but after you showed up, this storm started raging over Ponyville."
Ponyville, I guess that's where I am.
"My name is Twilight Sparkle. I've been taking care of you with the help of my companion, Spike, for the last three days."
On cue, a small purple dragon with green spikes came over to my bedside.
"Hi, I'm Spike."
I just sat there, shocked. This all seemed so unnatural to me, but why? After a moment of slightly awkward silence, Twilight asked
"What's your name?"
I opened my mouth, and nothing came out. A second later I managed to say
"My name is...-"
But I didn't remember. How could I not know my own name? Why is this happening? Of all things, my name should be the easiest to remember. Twilight must have seen my struggling, so she told me to get some rest while she made me a pot of soup. I did just that, finding that after that mental struggle, sleep was much more welcoming.

I woke up to a pang of pain in my nose. I opened my eyes to see a zebra looking at me, holding an orange liquid in front of my nose. Standing next to her was Twilight, who was looking very concerned.
"You were asleep for hours, and I couldn't wake you, so I had the Pegasus ponies clear the storm, and I sent for Zecora here to help."
I looked up at Zecora, who took the spicy smelling liquid away from my nose.
"This one thing I had to do, I woke you with my spicy brew."
What? Was this Zebra crazy? Once again, Twilight read me like a book. As Zecora walked away to get another potion, Twilight explained.
"She always talks in riddles."
"What did she just put in my face?"
"Firespray essence squeezed from the red fireflower. She's making another potion to keep you from falling asleep again until night."
"How long until I'm back on my hooves?"
"With my magic, and Zecora's potions, you should be back on your way home tomorrow morning. Where do you live?"
"I live over in..."
It hit me like a speeding train. Where did I live? What was my name? Why was I even here? I couldn't remember a single thing about my life. I didn't even know what I liked to do. Twilight looked at me sadly.
"Are you okay"
"Well, no, I'm not okay. I can't remember a single thing about myself."
"Maybe you hit your head too hard when you fell."
I looked at Twilight, very confused. "When did I fall? Is that how I got here?"
Twilight looked back at me, even more confused than I was. "You don't know what happened? Ugh, I was going to ask you as soon as you got better. You see, there are remnants of powerful magic that I don't understand where you fell. There's even a small crater in the ground."
"Wait, if you don't know what happened, how do you know I fell?"
"I'm just assuming, based on your injuries."
"Take me-" I started to say, but was interrupted by Zecora literally pouring a blue potion down my throat. I started to ask what it was, but it became quite obvious as my head hit the pillow.

I woke to once again find Twilight standing near me.
"We need to stop doing this." I said, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. It was morning, I had slept another day.
"Sorry, I didn't know she was going to do that either. But on a brighter note, you should be all healed up."
"Really?!" I asked, feeling a huge grin take over my face.
"Haha, yep! Why don't you try standing up, maybe we can take a walk around Ponyville."
I jumped out of bed and ran a lap around the room, and almost fell over in the process. My legs felt... Awkward. Almost like I hadn't used them before. I walked a few laps to get used to them, staring at them all the while.
"Sometimes it's hard after you've been injured for a while." Twilight said.
"Why don't you try flying?"
Why not? I bent my knees, flapped my wings, and... Nothing happened.
"I... I don't think I know how to fly."
"You do look a bit unfamiliar with it. I don't know much about flying, but maybe Rainbow Dash can help you. Would you like to go see her?"
I was about to say yes, but then I remembered what Twilight had said to me before Zacora knocked me out.
"No, I want to see where I fell."
Twilight looked at me uncertainly. "Are you sure? Maybe we should wait until your memory comes back. Relearning how to fly could help."
"No, I need to do this."
Twilight gave me an odd nod in acknowledgement, and opened the door. I followed her towards the door, suddenly wondering what the outside world looked like. Why should I wonder that? I'm pretty sure I've been outside before. Oh well, I guess I'm about to find out.
Author's Note
This is just an opening chapter to the story, I plan in making the other chapters longer. As you may have guessed, this will become a Torchwood/Doctor Who/MLP crossover. I'm new to writing, so corrections and ideas are always appreciated.
