A war breaks out between Equestria and the neighboring Griffon Kingdom. The use of chemical and biological weapons results in a changed world full of horror's beyond even Twilight Sparkle's imagination. In this new world, the question is no longer whether or not the ponies can win the war, but if they can survive its aftermath. Friendship get's put to the test through trial by fire as those that did live through the nightmare are forced to face long odds in the struggle to rebuild society and civilization.
