Finding Out...

I awoke as something collided with my cheek. Fighting off the urge to return to sleep, I look around for who or what struck me in the face. I look to the right to see Cynthia sitting there with an angry look on her face. Confused on what she is angry about I decide to speak. "Ow... What was the reasoning behind that, if I can ask."
"You lied..." she said bitterly. She raised her talon and placed a claw on my throat. Her golden iris are full of pain and betrayal. I don't understand why she is so angry. "You lied to me. Why... did you lie? Tell me..." I struggle to find words and understanding on the situation. I don't know what she caught me lying about. I had better find out.
"L-Lied about what?" I asked trying to stay calm. She blinked and confusion appeared replacing the pain and betrayal her eyes once held focused on me.
"You aren't... Aren't a pony." She stated bluntly with a slight rage mixed in, like chilly powder in your eyes. "You're a..."
"A what?" I asked as she pressed her claw down on my throat further starting to make it hard to breathe. I start to rationalize. I've been in a situation like this before only it was a kid from school. I faked passing out and he let go, the when he turned around I got up and floored him. Underhanded, maybe but it worked. I have to do something before I do pass out.
"A... A... Changling." She said with disdain. A shiver ran up my back. Did I hear right? Or am I dreaming? I close my eyes. I know that Changlings are more hated than anything everywhere. I guess dying won't be so bad. I'd rather die than be hated. Not in all the time in the strategic world of Chess could I have ever planned like that. All I can do now is die with a smile on my face. I smiled and waited for my air to run out.
"Rook... Rook?.... up..." I hear hazily as my mind starts back up again,"Wake... Rook... wake up." I feel myself being moved as the soft voice breaks thought the haze of my mind. I can't tell whose voice it is yet. I don't know who has such a soothing voice besides Fluttershy and she wasn't around the last time i checked. I'm starting to be able to feel more of what is around me because I feel warmth and something soft and fluffy. I remember feeling something like this before but I can't remember at the moment. I nuzzle into the soft warmth wanting to sleep. I hear a giggle and I open my eyes to see white, all white.
"C-Cynthia?"
"Yes? What is it Rook?" She said in the soft voice I heard as my head cleared.
"Am I... Dead? Or Dreaming?" I asked looking up at her eyes. The golden iris gleam in the setting sunlight as beautiful colors highlight the sky.
"No your not. Before you ask," She places a claw on my mouth and smiled. "You faced death with a smile on your face. Anyone would honor and respect that. I decided to let go after you blacked out. I can't allow such a good pony to die like that." I sat speechless of what I just heard. She spared me.
"Cynthia... I'm sorry about this..." She opened her mouth to speak but i placed a black porous hoof on her beak and continued,"I am going to tell you the whole truth... or what i remember anyway. I don't fully remember some of the days I was here. Okay.?" She nods as I remove my hoof from her beak and begin telling her everything.
"... And... That is the whole thing... I don't remember the first three days I was here. I'm not sure why... I'm not old enough to drink... So I wouldn't... I just don't know..." I stopped talking and looked at the ground, it was about midnight. The moon's light shown down on the land, perched high in the sky. It seemed as it too was curious and had it's gaze on me as well. I feel eminence pressure coming down on me as I think of that. Is it watching? Or am I imagining? I let my mind wander around the fact that Princess Luna could be watching the whole time. I dismissed the thought as Cynthia poked me to get my attention.
"Rook... I think we should get a move on. We can't get to Equestria by sitting here." Cynthia said with a smile spread across her beak. "We should get stepping towards the goal." I nodded in agreement and started to rise shakily to my hooves. It feels weird standing when I know my hooves have holes in them.
"Okay Cynthia, lets go." She drapes a wing over my back to keep me steady as we start walking forward. I only make it about 30 steps and i collapse face first into the ground. "Ow...." I look up from where I fell and see Cynthia covering her beak with a talon as if to hide the fact she's laughing at me.
"Rook are you alright?" Her voice wavering slightly trying to cover up her laughter but failing in the action. She reaches down and picks me up like a foal and places me on her back. "I guess I overdid it when i strangled you huh?"
"A little... But I can't blame you. I'm well aware that what I am is hated everywhere. I can't fully understand why but judging on your reaction... you have a grudge against what I am. I bet that is why twilight and the others left me. I seemed to be nice enough they let me go... or so it seems." Cynthia begins walking down the path with a nod.
"A grudge no... It's more like a burning hatred. It's one story, I don't want to talk about."
