Doppleganger

Ch. 2

Pinkie was lounging in her room upstairs of Sugar Cube Corner, stuffing her face (as usual) with cupcakes. She giggled as she fed one to Gummy, her pet, toothless alligator. She threw him up into the air then caught him and laughed, “This day has been SUPER DUPER FUN!”

BANG!

Pinkie’s door flew open and Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy burst in.

Pinkie giggled, “Hey guys! What’s shaking?”

“Pinkie Pie” said Twilight sternly, “Fluttershy told us that you scared away the baby birds that she was teaching to fly. Is that true?”

“What?” said Pinkie, baffled. She put Gummy down and walked to her friends, “What are you guys talking about?”

“Um, well” said Fluttershy, “While I was teaching my baby birds how t fly, you hopped over and scared them away. You yelled at them, saying that they were stupid and then laughed and hopped away”

“Fluttershy,” said Pinkie, “I never did that! This is the only time I’ve ever seen you since yesterday when we went swimming!”

“Then how come I saw you?” said Fluttershy, getting a bit irritated.

“Maybe you were seeing double?” asked Pinkie. Then she started laughing, “Seeing double! Ha-ha! That’s funny!”

“Pinkie!” shouted Rainbow Dash, “This isn’t funny! Did you, or did you not scare Fluttershy’s baby birds?!”

“Did not” said Pinkie Pie, “I love baby birds. Why would I scare them?”

“Ah, come on y’all” said Applejack, “Why would Pinkie scare a bunch of little itty bitty baby birds? It’s just not like ‘er”

“You’re right” said Twilight, “And why would I tip over your apple crates and cause Rainbow Dash unhappiness?”

“Wait” said Pinkie Pie, “That was you who tipped over the crates? I thought it was Big Macintosh!”

“W-what?” said Applejack, “Big Macintosh is at a big Apple Convention in Canterlot! And when did you see the crates tip over?”

“I came by to see if I could use any apples for my cupcakes! But after I saw Big Macintosh tip the crates over and you yelling and chasing him, I left because I thought it was a bad time” said Pinkie.

“Why do I have a feeling that Discord is behind this?” said Dash.

“You’re right!” said Fluttershy, “But he did make an oath to only use his magic for good. I even helped him!”

“You never know when Discord will change his mind and disobey the princess” said Twilight, “But still…”

“Maybe it was something we all ate” said Pinkie Pie.

“Possibly” said Twilight, “Let’s see if Zecora can help us. If it is something we ate she’ll have the perfect remedy”

All 5 ponies left Sugar Cube Corner and started to head for Zecora’s hut.

“Fluttershy!!” they heard Rarity call. They turned around and Rarity was running at them full speed, and she didn’t look happy. She skidded to a stop right in front of Fluttershy.

“How dare you ignore me when I needed your help!” she shouted.

“Rarity, I-“ started Fluttershy.

“Why wouldn’t you help me carry those heavy boxes into my boutique? I needed you to carry the big stuff!” whined Rarity.

“But, that wasn’t me. You never asked me to help you carry things” said Fluttershy.

“I just did not 10 minutes ago!” said Rarity.

“Rarity” said Twilight, “We were all at Sugar Cube Corner talking to Pinkie Pie!”

“Impossible!” said Rarity, “I saw you! You turned away from me!”

The ponies all exchanged looks. Then Twilight said, “I think you had better come with us, Rarity”
