Dust on her hooves and Lightning in her eyes
chapter 1- storm clouds
Stormy skies looked down at her little filly. It seemed as if she was born just yesterday. However, Lightning Dust needed start school as soon as possible, so she would have more time to practice flying.
"Are you going to have a good time?" Stormy Skies called to her daughter.
"I will, I promise!" She called back.
Then she stumbled a bit while running to the pink schoolhouse.
Lightning Dust sat down at the desk she liked best. It was painted a faded blue, with a little lighting bolt at the top. Across it was a giant storm cloud.Lightning liked this one best, because the faded-blue looked like her mother. There were other tables, but they didn't look as good to her. A pegasus filly with a light purple coat and a purple mane with green stripes sat down next to her. She was slightly crippled, as she had a wing brace attached to her. She did not yet have her cutie mark, like Lightning.
"Hi." She whispered to Lightning Dust.
"Ya know, school hasn't started yet. You can talk normally. Everypony else is." Lightning Dust responded.
"We'll, I try not to get noticed." The light purple filly answered.
"Ya know...this?' she motioned to her braced wing with her hoof.
"You have nothing to be ashamed of. some of the strongest flyers have wing braces." Dust said. The thought of her father came into mind, the turcoise pegasus flying around on one wing, a brace on the other, flying freely. "I'm Lightning Dust, by the way. but you can call me Dust." She said. "I'm painted page. But oyou could call me..uh,...paint, I guess." okay!" then dust and Paint hoofbumped.
Lightning Dust woke up. The orange fire made her eyes look a light amber. She looked over at painted Page, who was still fast asleep in her sleeping bag. She also looked at her brace, which was getting slightly rusty. she would have to tell Paint not to fly int the morning, or she could get hurt. then Dust looked over at written words, paint's brother, who was turned over, back towards the fire in the middle of the circle they were in.
Lightning Dust whispered quietly, "You awake?"
Word let out a fake snore.
"Ya, right." Dust said again, this time not whispering.
"Be quiet!" Paint was up now.
"Sorry,.. it's just.."
"Trying' to see words asleep I see.."
"Well, I was j-just trying to check on everypony.."
Dust stammered, embarrassingly.
"You were checking out Word, huh?" Paint said, obviously trying to annoy Lightning. Both Word and Dust shot up.
"I don't like him!" Dust Yelled. Word said the same thing,but with a 'her' instead of 'him'.
"Whoa, I never said that meant you liked him, but I'm happy to know where you stand on the subject. Paint shot a little smug look at Dust.
"I think we should get back to sleep." Word suggested. They sank back into their sleeping bags, and slept. Then a piercing howl split the middle of the sky. All three Pegasi looked up into the sky. Then they saw a big, black cloud move over the campsite. lightning struck and then the sky was clear. But something was wrong. Lightning Dust's wing was electrified. And Word was missing his wings.

chapter 2- Earth pony
Word looked around at the surrounding ponies, laughing and pointing at him and his sister. they were all chanting the same thing. "Written word and Painted Page sitting in a tree.." "Stop it!" Word yelled. " Word had just been helping his sister with her wing brace, and now everypony thought they were in love. "k-i-s-s-i-n-g." "Stop!" "I'm going into the bathroom, Word." Paint said. "First comes love, then comes marriage-" "Shut up!" a pegasus said before they could finish. It was Lightning Dust. "They are just brother and sister!" "How do you know?" came a call from a little earth pony in the crowd. Dust looked around. Since Paint was in the bathroom, she couldn't prove it through how they looked some-what alike. "Well, I can't prove that they are siblings, but-" "So, then you can't prove they don't like each other." said the Earth pony again. "Well, i can prove it!" "oh yeah!" "yeah!" Well, then how?" challenged the earth pony. Dust looked at Word. "this!" she said, and then she.. she kissed him. Word looked at her, thankful that the teasing had stopped. "-and if you tell anypony," Dust continued, looking at the crowd of fillies around them. "you'll get it." "Get what?" The Earth pony asked, smugly. Dust positioned herself correctly, prepared her wings, and took off. she spun around the entire school until everypony was dizzy. Then she aimed for the earth pony, zoomed down, and air-bucked the Earth pony right in the face! He dropped down and spat," Okay, fine-I won't tell anypony." Dust looked somewhat-satisfied. "Good, she said, and trotted off. Then word and Dust secretly swore never to tell paint that they liked eachother. And then, they kissed again.
The flashback stopped as Dust awoke from her slumber. "Come on, sleepyhead!" Paint called. She and Word were already up and moving. " hey, and uh, Paint?" Yeah, Dust?" "Your brace is rusty. Shouldn't fly with it today." Lightning Dust warned. "Great, now we all can't fly!" Paint yelled. " wait, so you're saying that that whole 'storm clouds' thing wasn't a dream?" Dust yelled. "Yeah. Don't know how, but Word lost his wings." "Yeah," Word complained. "Now I'll have to be an earth pony!" "Oh, come on. It can't be that bad.." Lightning Dust responded. "But I'm so used to flying..." Word said. " at the least, I could be a unicorn, and make it easier to write my stories!" Word kept complaining. 'Whatever, Mister Complaniac. We gotta keep moving, earth pony or not. "Oh, come on!' word yelled.
They were walking a little bit higher than expected, as they decided the journey closer to the ground was too rocky. A little mansion came into view, definitely not Canterlot Castle, but, still fancy. They were tired, as the altitude was so high, so they decided to ask whoever lived in that mansion to let them stay there. "Only a little farther." Paint said to herself. "Almost there..." "Come on, Paint." Dust said. "even flying takes more energy than walking!" "I know, but..." Paint looked back at her. "Some ponies tend to forget that not everypony is used to flying." Paint said. "Because-" "We're here!" Word interrupted. He was obviously annoyed. Also, check out the name of this mountain behind the mansion." Word pointed to a spot on the map they had. "Lightning mountian." It read.
