From the start of that day, I knew things were wrong.I woke up that morning with a great headache, images of Twilight Sparkle circling my head, but they weren't regular. I could tell she was on a throne, but that didn't make sense, she wasn't a Princess, not yet anyway. I heard rumors of an upcoming coronation, but it wasn't expected any time soon. I tried to dismiss these images, but when the next had blood, and there was no way this was right. Twilight wouldn't be like that, would she? I stored these images away for later, for when these images would actually matter and got prepared for whatever the day may bring.
When I woke up the next morning, I realized that I was next to Shadow Flame. I guess I came to him after Pinkie kicked me out. I woke the knocked out Shadow Flame up from his deep sleep. I had a feeling he knew something that I didn't, so I told him about it.
"Shadow, do you any thing about what Twilight's doing today? I know you have that thing for her..." I said
"Ummmm..... yes, I mean No" Shadow said. Shadow started to rub his neck and sweat really bad. I could tell he knew something.
"Dude, you know something. Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!" I begged him. I started to make this weird voice that always creeped him out, so there was no way he could hide the plans now.
"Knight, I was t-told not to tell anyone, sorry. The P-princess herself told me n-not to." Shadow said. This was really bad. Shadow never stuttered like this before, well never when he was talking to me.
"Tell me Right Now!" I yelled in bis face, and he just couldn't take all the pressure and sputtered it out.
"There's a coronation today! My Celestia you're ignorant" he yelled in my face. I started to see a tear form in his right eye. He didn't like yelling, it was painful and sad for him, just like Fluttershy. When I looked more closely, I saw the tear was turning red, and Shadow was completely unaware of this. I decided not to tell him, if I did he would completely freak out. Then I realized what he had said. Images, thoughts, ideas came rushing to my head, all disturbing. All containing Twilight Sparkle, sitting on that bloody throne.
"Buck! You know what this means? Things are going to get screwed up! We have to stop it!" I yelled at him. I started to rise, becoming a lot taller then him. I was dominate, and he knew it. He started to cower, but he froze.
"I've seen it too. There's nothing we can do. She's going to take the throne, and take over. No mercy" he said, quivering. The blood red tears were now streaming down his muzzle, some reaching his mane. This was serious, he probably wouldn't recover from this for at least an hour.
"Since there's nothing we can do, might as well get dressed for the evening" I said. I dragged Shadow into the bathroom, cleaned up his face, and made him take a shower. He was always nervous when he was getting into the shower. I couldn't blame him, with me around, but he's an adult. He's needs to get over being shy when naked, even though its natural.
"Okay, you can get out now" he said, waving his hoof toward the door.
"Get over it" I said and closed the door. when I got back into the guest room, I let my mind wonder. We both knew what was going to happen. We both knew there was no preventing it. We could try, but there's no fighting fate. But maybe we wouldn't fight, we would just die. Maybe I could commit suicide, it would be the easiest way out, but no, I had to stand by my friends and fight, fight for the death. Someone was going to die, and there was no preventing it.
A sudden image came to my head. It was a picture of a mangled pony, beaten and bloody, but the actual pony was unknown, just blurred. I tried to get m mind around who it could be, but no one came to mind. The body was just so blurred, but it wasn't surprising that none of these images really disturbed me.
I spent 10 minutes lying on that bed, wondering about this day. Wondering if it would actually happen, if someone was actually going to die. I tried to deny these thoughts, but it was all far too real. My thoughts were interrupted when Shadow stepped out of the shower.
"All yours" he said and went into another room to get dressed. Twilight suddenly popped out of the door right when Shadow was right beside it, but Twilight spoke anyway. This was unlike her, she would at least apologize, but maybe she has already gone...
"Are you guys ready? Hurry up! We need to be leaving soon! Come- Oh my" Twilight stopped in the middle of her babble t finally notice Shadow. Shadow's towel had dropped, revealing something, well, not for school-age ponies. His face was in a deep blush, obviously embarrassed.
"Sorry, I better go get dressed" He said and rushed out the door.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to - he's not even listening" Twilight said " Can you tell him I said sorry" She looked at me with a big smile. I couldn't help but say yes, stuttering with every dirty word that I'd ever said to her.
I didn't have time to think about Twilight, I needed to jump into the shower, and so I did. The first thing I noticed was a big red markings across the shower wall that read "SAVE ME." This obviously wasn't right, Shadow didn't say anything, or maybe because Shadow had made the marking...
I spent a couple of minutes scrubbing the marking off, no need to leave it there and get Twilight mad. I finally had just started my shower when Twilight came banging on the door.
"Knight, we have to go! Please hurry up! If I want to be a princess, I can't be waiting on perverts!" Twilight said.
"Oh ha ha. Yes, I'm the giant pervert, that's why you were trying to look at Shadow's special parts" I said in my usually sarcastic, mocking voice, all while scrubbing myself intently.
"Just shut up and hurry up the buck up" she said and walked away from the door. Twilight obviously wasn't in her right mind, but no need to get her more screwed up and mad. After rinsing my mane, I turned off the water and grabbed a towel that was hanging on a nearby rack. The towel was too blood-filled, so I searched for another. I found a gray one, perfectly dry, but it was too warm, way too warm. It started to get hotter, it was burning my body now. This was some kind of trick played by... Shadow. He had fire powers.
"Celestia dammit, Shadow!" I yelled from the bathroom. Shadow came into the bathroom, without even knocking. He was carrying a towel, that wasn't hot as a fresh muffin.
"Adverting my eyes! Sorry Knight, I can't believe you fell for it! Any way, here's your towel" Shadow said as he was trying to hand me the towel, still looking away.
"Thanks" I wrapped the towel around my waist. "You can look now"
"I still don't like seeing you without a shirt! Oh well" He was now looking at me . "You need to get dressed. We're going to be late!"
I just then noticed what he was wearing a tuxedo, which fit very well him. I looked more closely, and noticed the tie was made of fire.
"How is your tie-" I began, but Shadow stopped me.
"It shows my power. You have a tie like this too, and you really need to put it on! Go get dressed right now!" he said.
"Okay, my little master" I said in my usual strange voice"
"Don't, just don't" he said as I left the room to get dressed. There was an outfit sitting on the bed for me. It included a dark blue tuxedo, with a pink under shirt. Are they trying to make me look flashy? The most cool thing tough was the tie. It was lowing a blood red with the anarchy symbols going down the length of the tie.I put the outfit on and Twilight, Shadow and I headed for the coronation, or as I liked to call it, a Date with Doomsday.
