Chapter 1: Becoming freinds
It was a warm spring day on the kindergarten playground, the sky was clear, the air was crisp, the warm winds rushed on my skin as I played in the sandbox. I usually played alone, even though I had a friend he wasn't around very often, so I just played alone with the toy trucks, shovels, and pales. I would make up pretend adventures I would go on, mostly construction games. One day when I was playing with the plastic bulldozer I heard someone yell "STOP IT!" I quickly responded and ran over to where the noise came from. When I got there i saw that it was Todd Maxwell and his friends picking on a young pegasus filly with a rainbow mane and tail. "Leave her alone Todd!" I yelled. He looked over at me with a scowl on his face. "What did you just say to me?" He responded. " You heard me, I said leave her alone!" He walked over to me with an angry look on his face. "Your'e lucky the teacher's outside." He said to me as him and his friends walked off. I looked over to the filly who was still lying on the ground crying. I knelt down beside her and asked her if she was okay, "I'm alright, thanks." She said to me with a high pitched voice. "I'm Rainbow Dash, whats you name?" She asked me. "My name's Jake." I responded. "Well Jake, do you wanna play with me?" She asked in a joyful tone. "You want me to play with you, no one wants to play with me." I said. "why not, you seem like a really cool guy." She protested. I just shrugged my shoulders and told her that i had some toy trucks in the sandbox that we could play with. Ever since then we've been best friends. We would always go outside together, eat lunch together, laugh together, and work together. One time we had to share the same piece of paper because they were out. She was the best friend anyone could ask for. I had other friends but they weren't like her, she was different, she was funny, loyal, smart, compassionate, and really fast. There was just something special about her that I didn't realize. I guess I would find this out soon enough.
Let me start off by saying that war can be a terrible thing. I'm not a big supporter of it myself, but... that one war, the war that changed everything forever especially my life, that war gave me a friend, someone to care about, someone to love, someone who I knew would never leave my side for the rest of my life. It all started about twelve years ago I had lived with my parents until I was six years old. We lived a happy life until.... until the day that the men in suits came to take them away. I was a small child at the time so i didn't know what was happening."Mommy, Daddy why do you have to go"? I asked them with a slight choke of sadness in my throat. My Mother came up to me and responded "Mommy and Daddy have some important things they need to do, we will be gone for a while so you will be living with Grandma and Grandpa". "Okay" I responded "bye, I love you." "We love you too". She said as she embraced me in a hug, tears rolling down her cheeks. I have been living with my Grandparents ever since then. Now the reason for the war was a German military experiment to test a theory that there were alternate plains of reality,parallel universes, dimensions from ours. They tested this theory by building a device that would open up a portal to said world, and well... it worked. They opened a portal to a place known as Equestria, that was filled with ponies, but not just any ponies, colorful talking ones humans started inhabiting this world and this angered the native residence. they soon started to fight back, killing the humans that lived there, and soon we started fighting as well. I guess what i'm trying to say is that without the war i never would have met my best friend, my love, Rainbow Dash. Without her i'm nothing, she loves me, and I love her. I guess that's all that really matters to me.
