Maresolus is a small, insular island to the west of Equestria, which has developed at a much slower pace and with an entirely different philosophy. As the previous leader is put to rest, a new one arises who many ponies believe is capable of changing things for the better. Under the new leader's command, a young mare named Pale Skies volunteers to function as an envoy and travel to the mainland to attain supplies.
