Twilight's Love
Chapter IV: A Bright Morning
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTime Turner moaned as the sound of somepony knocking got louder and louder. He covered his ears and rolled over, trying to block out the sound. That didn't work, so he opened his eyes. He had forgotten where he was, but quickly remembered what happened last night. He and Twilight had some champagne, she invited him to stay the night, and he slept on her couch.
He shook his head, trying to shake off his splitting headache, which wasn't getting any better due to the knocking. He wearily walked over to Twilight's front door and opened it, still half asleep. He saw a white and purple pony standing there, but it was a bit blurry. He blinked a few times, trying to adjust his focus, until he realised it was Rarity.
"Oh. Time Turner?" Rarity said, confused. She looked at his messed up tuxedo, which he was still wearing, and the pillow and blanket on the couch. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, hi Rarity." he said as he rubbed his left eye. "Twilight I went to the ball in Canterlot last night."
"Ball in Canterlot?!" Rarity exclaimed. "She told me it was just a little 'get-together'."
Time Turner suddenly remembered the lie that Twilight had told Rarity.
"Oh, yeah. That." Time Turner said as he yawned.
"What? Twilight was lying?" Rarity asked.
"What do you want, Rarity?"
"I came to see Twilight. Is she here?"
"Uh, no." Time Turner said, looking upstairs. "I mean, umm, yes. She's here, but she's still sleeping."
"Oh. Well, tell her to come by my house today. I want to have a talk with her."
Twilight lay on the bed, still dreaming of last night. Although she was dreaming, she wasn't sleeping. She was daydreaming, remembering every second of their kiss.
It was not only her first kiss, but it was also the second most amazing moment of her life, the first being the moment she got her cutie mark. It was perfect, everything she had imagined, if not more.
She took herself back there, imagining the moment that their lips pressed, an explosion went off in her heart. She was in love with Time Turner, she wanted to kiss him again. Her heart was on fire, a raging inferno which only built up over time.
At that moment, Time Turner took a peek upstairs, checking if she was still asleep.
"Good morning, Time Turner." she said, timidly.
"Hi, Twilight." he replied.
She wriggled over to the side of the bed and motioned for Time Turner to get up beside her. He hopped up onto the bed and laid down next to Twilight.
"Thanks for inviting me to the ball last night. I had a great time." Time Turner said.
"Me too. I'm glad I invited you." She leaned over to him and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. He looked at her, and smiled.
"Twilight, did you enjoy it? The kiss last night?"
She smiled. "It was beautiful. I loved it."
He slithered over to Twilight and they both pointed their muzzles toward each other. He leaned forward a little, planting another kiss on her lips.
This kiss went for a while, a bit longer than last night. Twilight was loving every second of it, until they were interrupted.
"Uh... Twilight?"
They stopped kissing and look towards the stairs. Spike was standing there nervously.
"Spike! You can't do that!" Twilight yelled.
"Oh, gee, I'm sorry." he said worriedly.
"What do you want?!" Twilight asked impatiently.
"Well, I just wanted to know where you put the mop."
Twilight moaned angrily.
"Well, you could have at least knocked first."
Time Turner got up off the bed. "You know what, I should be going. I'll see you later."
Twilight looked angrily at Spike.
"Oh yeah, before I go," he added. "Rarity came by this morning. She said she wanted you to come by her house for a chat."
Twilight knocked on Rarity's door. The door swung open, and Rarity saw Twilight standing there, very tired.
"Hello, Twilight. Would you care to come in?" Rarity asked.
"Umm, okay." she replied.
They walked inside Carousel Boutique.
"So... how was the ball last night?" Rarity asked.
"Oh. You heard about that?"
"Yes, I did." she said with a stern expression. "Why didn't you tell me it was a ball?"
"Because..." She thought for a moment. "I didn't want you to get upset because I didn't invite you."
"Twilight, darling. I'm more upset that you lied about it than I am about not inviting me. In fact, I'm happy for you."
"Hmm?" Twilight said, looking up at Rarity.
"You took Time Turner on a date. That's brilliant!"
"Really?"
"Well tell me what happened." Rarity said.
"What do you mean?"
"Twilight, he slept on your couch. Something must have happened. Tell me, I'm dying to know." Rarity said, intrigued by what Twilight was going to say.
"Well, we danced, and then we were out on the balcony,"
"Yes, yes, go on." Rarity said, eager to kind out what happened.
"And then... we kissed."
Rarity was astonished.
"You kissed?" she asked. "You actually kissed?"
Twilight nodded. "Yeah, last night, and this morning."
"What kind of kiss? Was it on the lips? Was it a French kiss?"
"No, it wasn't a French kiss. Just a normal kiss on the lips."
"And how was it? Was it good?"
Twilight fell back onto Rarity's chaise lounge.
"It was amazing." she said, picturing the moment in her mind. "It was so romantic."
She stood back up and stood in front of Rarity.
"He held his hoof to my cheek," she said as she did so to Rarity. "He leaned in and then... It was so romantic."
She flopped back onto the lounge.
"Do you love him?" Rarity asked, causing Twilight to stick her head up and look at her.
"Do I love him?" she asked.
Rarity nodded persistently.
"I love him more than anything." Twilight said.
"Oh, Twilight." Rarity said with a cute smile. "That's wonderful."
