//-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight's Love -by ponyguy123- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter I: Tickets to the Ball //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter I: Tickets to the Ball Twilight was at home, reading a new collection of books she had bought from the Canterlot bookstore the last time she was there. She was reading "The History of Unicorn Magic - Volume 7", after she had already read the first six. She looked up at the remaining pile of books; volumes eight through to fifteen. She really wanted to get them done, as she wanted to learn as much as possible before Princess Celestia gave her another assignment. As she completed her seventh book, she closed it and heaved it onto the pile of the ones she had already read. She pulled Volume 8 off the top of the other pile and began reading the first page. "The History of Unicorn Magic, Volume Eight." she said aloud as she read the title. She flipped open to the first page and began reading. "In the year 1128, there were over four hundred spells known to ponykind." As she was reading, Spike walked in, clutching his stomach. "Ugh. I don't feel too good." "What's wrong?" Twilight asked, turning away from her book. Suddenly, he belched, causing a letter and two other slips of paper to fly into the air. Twilight grabbed them with her magic and levitated them toward her desk. "Hmm? These are tickets." she said. She read the label on the side of them. "The Annual Royal Ball - Entry for one pony." "Royal Ball? That sounds interesting." Spike commented. "Yeah, sounds like fun. I wonder what the letter says." She unrolled the scroll and began reading. Dear Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student, As you may know, the annual royal ball in Canterlot is approaching. This is an important event, and this year I would like to invite you and one other friend to attend. I have sent you two tickets to attend the ball and you may choose whoever you wish to attend. Unfortunately, I am unable to send you more tickets, as they are extremely hard to obtain. Even as the princess, I can't always help you. I apologise for placing you in the same situation twice. That said, please remember that if you can't decide between your friends, you also have the option to return the tickets and not go at all, as you were willing to do last time. I hope you attend, I would love to see you there. Your teacher and mentor, Princess Celestia "Oh. I only get two?" Twilight said, already thinking about the decision. "Well who do I take?" "Maybe you should just send them back, like you did with the Grand Galloping Gala tickets." Spike suggested. "I can't do that, Spike. I don't want to be rude to Princess Celestia. She said these tickets were hard to get, so I wouldn't want to turn down this offer." Twilight put her hoof up to her chin and thought. She picked up one of the tickets off the desk. "Hmm... I'd better make a decision fast, the ball is on tomorrow night!" she said. "Well, it's not that bad. You only have five options." Spike added. "Well... I know it's a very formal night." "You have to make a decision, Twi. The princess wants you to go." Twilight continued to think. "Actually, now that I think about it, the royal ball tends to be a, you know... 'romantic' sort of night." "Yeah, and?" Spike asked. "Do you think I should take a... a stallion with me?" Twilight asked. "Like, on a date?" A few months earlier, Twilight had met a pony called Time Turner. They soon became friends, and they started hanging out on occasion. But over time, Twilight began to feel more than just friendship towards him. In fact, Twilight had just gotten her first crush. Over time, Time Turner began to like her back, and also developed a crush on her. They quickly became 'very fond' of each other, and although they weren't officially going out, it was quite obvious about their feelings toward each other. "Spike, does my mane look okay?" Twilight said as she brushed it in her mirror. "It looks fine, Twilight." Spike replied. "Fine isn't good enough, it has to be brilliant! I've never asked a stallion out before, so it this to be perfect." "Twilight, stop worrying. You'll do fine." At that moment, Spike saw Time Turner walk past outside. "Twilight," Spike said, nudging her on the arm. "There he is." "Oh, this is it. This is my chance. How do I look?" "Twilight, I told you. You look fine, just go." "Time Turner, wait!" Twilight called out as he walked on by. He turned his head to Twilight's front door. He saw the purple mare standing in the doorway nervously. "Oh, good morning Twilight. Lovely day we're having, isn't it?" Time Turner said as he stared into Twilight's deep, beautiful eyes. "Yeah, it's really nice." "So anyway, what did you call me for?" he asked. "Oh right, yes." she said, remembering the reason she was out there. "I got a letter from Princess Celestia today, with two tickets to the Royal Ball in Canterlot tomorrow night." "Oh, ok. That's pretty nice." he said. "Well, the thing is, I got two tickets and I was thinking about who to take with me." "Hmm?" Time Turner said, catching on to where this conversation was going. "Well, I was wondering, if you weren't doing anything tomorrow night," She paused for a moment and tried not to blush. "if you would like to maybe go with me?" Time Turner smiled. "Really? You- you want to take me?" he said as Twilight started blushing. "But what about your other friends? Wouldn't you want to take one of them instead?" "Well, since this is a more formal sort of event, I was kind of hoping that we could go together. You know, as a... a date." "Okay, su- sure." he stuttered. "I'll see you tomorrow." Time Turner left, really excited. He had a crush on Twilight for ages, and now they were going on a date to a royal ball. He looked back at Twilight, who had left her house and was now heading down the street. Twilight knocked excitedly on Rarity's door. Rarity stopped sowing and walked across the room and opened it. "Hello, Twilight. How are you?" Rarity said. "Oh, I'm doing great." Twilight replied, really excited for tomorrow night. "Rarity, I need to ask a favour." "Of course, Twilight. Anything you need." "Well, I have to go to Canterlot tomorrow night for a formal event," she said, leaving out the fact that it was a ball. She didn't want Rarity to get upset about Twilight not inviting her. "And I was wondering if you could make me a dress." Rarity smiled. She loved making dresses for her friends. "Of course I can make you a dress. I'll try and get it done before tomorrow night." "Thanks, Rarity. I really appreciate it." Twilight said happily. "What's happening in Canterlot tomorrow anyway?" Rarity asked. "Oh, nothing important. Just a little 'get together' with the princess and a few other ponies." she lied. "Alright. Bye." Rarity said as Twilight left. Twilight smiled as she swayed home, filled with anticipation of the royal ball. She was imagining what it was going to be like. She had never been on a date before. She was lost in thought. She arrived home and tried to continue of with Volume 8 of "The History of Unicorn Magic", but she couldn't. She was too excited. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter II: Tonight's the Night //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter II: Tonight's the Night Twilight eagerly sat at home, waiting for her date to arrive. She was wearing her dress which Rarity had made for her. It was a blue dress, similar to the one which she had worn to the Gala. She sat on her couch, awaiting Time Turner to get to her house. She looked at the clock, which had almost struck eight. "I hope Time Turner gets here soon," Twilight said to Spike. "The ball starts at ten. I don't want to be late." "Twilight, calm down." Spike said. "He's not supposed to be here for another ten minutes." "I know, but I'm really nervous. I've never had a special somepony before." "I know, I know. You told me that already. You're just freaking out a little." Spike said. "Tonight's gonna be fine, don't worry about it." "I hope so." Twilight stood up and walked over to her mirror. "Hmm. Do I look alright? How does my dress look?" "Twilight, you look beautiful. You should just calm down. How bad could it be?" She smiled. "Thanks, Spike." Suddenly, Twilight remembered how the Grand Gala ended. That was a disaster. "But what if it ends up like the gala? That was really embarrassing." "You know, you still didn't tell me what happened that night. I wasn't there, I was at the donut shop." "Oh, it was a disaster. Rainbow Dash knocked over all the pillars in the ballroom, and Fluttershy made a heap of animals run wild through the castle." "Aw, that doesn't sound good." Spike said. "Well, I'm sure tonight won't turn out like that. It'll only be you and him." "Yeah..." Twilight said, still feeling bad about lying to Rarity. "So anyway," Spike said, knocking her out of her thoughts. "how are you getting to Canterlot?" "Oh, Time Turner said he'd be able to get us a carriage. He said he'd also get a couple of his friends to pull us." Meanwhile, Back at Time Turner's House ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Come on, please?" Time Turner pleaded. He was wearing a tuxedo. "No," Caramel said. "I'm not pulling your carriage. Get somepony else to do it." "Come on. You have to. I really want to make a good impression on my date." Time Turner said to the two stallions in front of him. "You still haven't even told us who you're going with." said his other friend, Sunny. "You guys know Twilight, right?" Sunny and Caramel looked at each other, and then back at Time Turner. "Twilight Sparkle? The mare who lives in the library?" Caramel asked. "Yeah, her." Time Turner said. "Oh, okay." Sunny said. "Don't you have a crush on her?" "Yeah... maybe." "You know," Caramel began. "I've pulled her coach before, when she and her friends were going to the Grand Galloping Gala." "Will you help me out? Please?" Time Turner asked. Sunny and Caramel turned around and started having a discussion between themselves. Time Turner wasn't really sure what they were saying, but he was pretty sure that Sunny said "I've never been to Canterlot before". They turned back around to face Time Turner. "Alright, we'll pull your carriage for you," Caramel said, "but whenever we need you, you have to do something for us." "Sure, whatever." He looked at the clock. "Oh, we have to go!" They went out to the carriage that was parked outside. "I was able to rent this carriage just for tonight. How does it look?" Time Turner asked. "Wow. It looks great. How much did you pay for it?" Sunny asked. "Err... That's not important. Let's just go." Twilight heard a knock on her front door. "He's here!" Twilight panicked. "This is it!" "Go get him." Spike said encouragingly. Twilight opened the door to see Time Turner standing there in his tux. "Good evening, Twilight." Time Turner greeted. "Are you ready to go?" "I'm ready." She looked back at Spike. "Will you be alright on your own?" "Yeah, I'll be fine." Spike said. Time Turner led her out to the carriage. He opened the door, and let Twilight get in first, like a gentlecolt. He then got in himself and shut the door. "Alright, guys. Let's go." Time Turner called out to Caramel and Sunny. Twilight was very eager. She wanted her first date to be a night to remember; a special memory for the two of them. "So..." Time Turner said, awkwardly breaking the silence. "How have you been?" "Oh, I've been good." Twilight replied. "You look very," he paused nervously for a moment. "nice." Twilight smiled and blushed. "Thanks. So do you." "Nice dress." "Oh," Twilight said, looking down at it. "Thanks. Rarity made it for me." "How was Rarity? Was she upset that you didn't invite her?" Twilight put on a guilty expression. "Well... I sort of left out that detail..." she said. "Oh, Twilight." Time Turner laughed. "You shouldn't lie, especially to your friends." Author's Note Actually, "Sunny" is just my OC from The Power of Love (https://www.fimfiction.net/story/81918/), but these stories are not related. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter IV: A Bright Morning //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter IV: A Bright Morning Time Turner moaned as the sound of somepony knocking got louder and louder. He covered his ears and rolled over, trying to block out the sound. That didn't work, so he opened his eyes. He had forgotten where he was, but quickly remembered what happened last night. He and Twilight had some champagne, she invited him to stay the night, and he slept on her couch. He shook his head, trying to shake off his splitting headache, which wasn't getting any better due to the knocking. He wearily walked over to Twilight's front door and opened it, still half asleep. He saw a white and purple pony standing there, but it was a bit blurry. He blinked a few times, trying to adjust his focus, until he realised it was Rarity. "Oh. Time Turner?" Rarity said, confused. She looked at his messed up tuxedo, which he was still wearing, and the pillow and blanket on the couch. "What are you doing here?" "Oh, hi Rarity." he said as he rubbed his left eye. "Twilight I went to the ball in Canterlot last night." "Ball in Canterlot?!" Rarity exclaimed. "She told me it was just a little 'get-together'." Time Turner suddenly remembered the lie that Twilight had told Rarity. "Oh, yeah. That." Time Turner said as he yawned. "What? Twilight was lying?" Rarity asked. "What do you want, Rarity?" "I came to see Twilight. Is she here?" "Uh, no." Time Turner said, looking upstairs. "I mean, umm, yes. She's here, but she's still sleeping." "Oh. Well, tell her to come by my house today. I want to have a talk with her." Twilight lay on the bed, still dreaming of last night. Although she was dreaming, she wasn't sleeping. She was daydreaming, remembering every second of their kiss. It was not only her first kiss, but it was also the second most amazing moment of her life, the first being the moment she got her cutie mark. It was perfect, everything she had imagined, if not more. She took herself back there, imagining the moment that their lips pressed, an explosion went off in her heart. She was in love with Time Turner, she wanted to kiss him again. Her heart was on fire, a raging inferno which only built up over time. At that moment, Time Turner took a peek upstairs, checking if she was still asleep. "Good morning, Time Turner." she said, timidly. "Hi, Twilight." he replied. She wriggled over to the side of the bed and motioned for Time Turner to get up beside her. He hopped up onto the bed and laid down next to Twilight. "Thanks for inviting me to the ball last night. I had a great time." Time Turner said. "Me too. I'm glad I invited you." She leaned over to him and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. He looked at her, and smiled. "Twilight, did you enjoy it? The kiss last night?" She smiled. "It was beautiful. I loved it." He slithered over to Twilight and they both pointed their muzzles toward each other. He leaned forward a little, planting another kiss on her lips. This kiss went for a while, a bit longer than last night. Twilight was loving every second of it, until they were interrupted. "Uh... Twilight?" They stopped kissing and look towards the stairs. Spike was standing there nervously. "Spike! You can't do that!" Twilight yelled. "Oh, gee, I'm sorry." he said worriedly. "What do you want?!" Twilight asked impatiently. "Well, I just wanted to know where you put the mop." Twilight moaned angrily. "Well, you could have at least knocked first." Time Turner got up off the bed. "You know what, I should be going. I'll see you later." Twilight looked angrily at Spike. "Oh yeah, before I go," he added. "Rarity came by this morning. She said she wanted you to come by her house for a chat." Twilight knocked on Rarity's door. The door swung open, and Rarity saw Twilight standing there, very tired. "Hello, Twilight. Would you care to come in?" Rarity asked. "Umm, okay." she replied. They walked inside Carousel Boutique. "So... how was the ball last night?" Rarity asked. "Oh. You heard about that?" "Yes, I did." she said with a stern expression. "Why didn't you tell me it was a ball?" "Because..." She thought for a moment. "I didn't want you to get upset because I didn't invite you." "Twilight, darling. I'm more upset that you lied about it than I am about not inviting me. In fact, I'm happy for you." "Hmm?" Twilight said, looking up at Rarity. "You took Time Turner on a date. That's brilliant!" "Really?" "Well tell me what happened." Rarity said. "What do you mean?" "Twilight, he slept on your couch. Something must have happened. Tell me, I'm dying to know." Rarity said, intrigued by what Twilight was going to say. "Well, we danced, and then we were out on the balcony," "Yes, yes, go on." Rarity said, eager to kind out what happened. "And then... we kissed." Rarity was astonished. "You kissed?" she asked. "You actually kissed?" Twilight nodded. "Yeah, last night, and this morning." "What kind of kiss? Was it on the lips? Was it a French kiss?" "No, it wasn't a French kiss. Just a normal kiss on the lips." "And how was it? Was it good?" Twilight fell back onto Rarity's chaise lounge. "It was amazing." she said, picturing the moment in her mind. "It was so romantic." She stood back up and stood in front of Rarity. "He held his hoof to my cheek," she said as she did so to Rarity. "He leaned in and then... It was so romantic." She flopped back onto the lounge. "Do you love him?" Rarity asked, causing Twilight to stick her head up and look at her. "Do I love him?" she asked. Rarity nodded persistently. "I love him more than anything." Twilight said. "Oh, Twilight." Rarity said with a cute smile. "That's wonderful." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter V: The Smell of Burning Books //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter V: The Smell of Burning Books Time Turner sat on Twilight's couch as she lay beside him, gently resting on his shoulder. He softly stroked her mane with his hoof. She looked up towards him, and gently nuzzled his neck, which made him smile. "I love you, Twilight." he said into her ear. She smiled back at him. "You keep saying that." she giggled. "I love you too." "I know I keep saying it, but because it's true. I sincerely do love you." he said. They had just arrived home from a date. They went out for dinner, got some coffee, and took a nighttime stroll through park. However, it wasn't an ordinary date. It was, in fact, their six month anniversary. Six months since the ball in Canterlot, and now, everypony in Ponyville knew about Twilight and Time Turner. "Did you have a good time tonight?" Time Turner asked Twilight. "I had a wonderful time." she replied. Twilight wasn't sure how their relationship managed to make it this far. Six months ago, she wasn't really the dating type, but now she had a coltfriend, and she loved him with all her heart. They gave each other a quick kiss, and then Time Turner stood up. He yawned a deep and long yawn. "Oh, I'm tired." he said. He looked up at Twilight's clock, which had almost struck midnight. "Hmm, it's late. We should be getting to bed." "Oh, ok." Twilight said, getting off the lounge. "Will you stay here tonight?" "I don't know, I have a shift at the clock shop tomorrow morning." "Pleeeeaaaaassee?" Twilight begged. "Come on." "Ok, fine. But I'm not staying up." Time Turner grabbed a pillow from the closet and dumped it onto Twilight's spare bed. Recently, Twilight had let him sleep in her other bed, due to her remembering that she actually had one. He set his alarm, both got into bed, and Time Turner soon fell asleep. Time Turner smacked his hoof down onto his alarm clock before it woke up Twilight. He got up and looked over at Twilight, still peacefully sleeping. He stretched his back, and walked downstairs. He was about to leave for work, when something stopped him. He could smell something burning. He followed the smell to it's source, and found Spike, trying to make a pancake. "Spike?" Time Turner asked, causing him to jump and turn around. "Oh, it's you." he said. "You scared me." "What are you doing?" "I was, err, making breakfast?" Time Turner looked back at the stove, and which had a pan on it with a pancake-thing cooking away, which looked like a burnt rock. He looked worriedly at it, a bit concerned about a fire starting. Before he even finished that thought, the rock burst into flames. "Ah! Fire!" yelled Spike. "Quick, get some water." Spike ran into the other room and returned a few moments later with a bucket of water. He threw it onto the stove, but by then, it was already too late. The drapes over the window caught fire, which quickly spread to the rest of the wall. "Quick! Get out!" Time Turner yelled. They ran outside and looked at the burning house. "Oh no. The library!" "But, where's Twilight?" Spike asked, worriedly. Time Turner gasped in shock. "Oh no!" Time Turner wasn't sure what to do. He could go in himself and save her, but that would put him in danger too. He knew he shouldn't go in, he should wait for the fireponies. They were professionals. But he didn't know how long they would be. Twilight could be burnt to death by then. Suddenly, he heard a scream from inside the burning building. "Ahhhh! Fire!" screamed Twilight as she woke up, coughing from the thick smoke building up in her room. "Twilight!" Time Turner yelled as he felt a sudden urge to save her. He ran into the door, but Spike grabbed his leg and stopped him. "No, wait!" Spike said. "You can't go in there, it's dangerous." "I have to save her." Time Turner said, shaking his leg from his weak grip. "I have to at least try." Time Turner ran inside and squinted to stop the smoke from stinging his eyes. He climbed up the stairs, avoiding the flames, and found Twilight, coughing on the floor. "Twilight, come here." Time Turner said as he grabbed her. "Time Turner? What are you doing?" she coughed, her voice dry and raspy. "I'm saving you." "No, get out. There's not enough time." she coughed. "I have to. I can't let you die." He lifted her up and put her over his back. He then carried her down the stairs and across the room. The library was getting hotter and filled with more smoke. He couldn't see the door anymore, as it had been engulfed by the flames. As the smoke got thicker, he found it harder to breathe. He began to fall unconscious. He still didn't give up, though. He couldn't pass out now, they would both die. He knew there was only one way out, the doorway. He looked towards the flames and gulped. He didn't want to have to go through there, but he knew there was no other way out. He yelled as he leapt through the flames, Twilight unconscious on his back. He crashed onto the ground and they rolled a few meters. He looked around, and saw a large number of worried ponies surrounding the library. He saw a couple of Twilight's friends, Rainbow Dash and Applejack, who watched in horror as the building fell apart. Time Turner coughed heavily as he tried to remove the smoke from his lungs, but his coughs became weaker and weaker. Eventually, he collapsed and passed out. Applejack galloped over to him and Twilight. "Oh no." she said. "We have to get them to the hospital." Time Turner eyes were closed. He wasn't sure what was happening, but that was still a good sign; he was fairly sure he was alive, but he couldn't be completely sure. He could hear other ponies talking around him, but it was quite muffled. "Will he be okay?" "Look, he's twitching. I think he's waking up." "Yeah, yeah. His eyes are opening!" He opened his eyes, but not very widely, and saw that he was in a hospital bed. He looked at the three ponies that were standing by his side; Rainbow Dash, Rarity and, of course, Twilight Sparkle. "Hey," Rainbow Dash said. "you're finally awake." "Hmmf." he moaned. "What happened?" "You saved me from a fire." Twilight said with smile. She was relieved that her coltfriend was okay. "You shouldn't have done that. It was really stupid." "I had to." Time Turner whispered, tiredly. "I couldn't leave you in there." He turned and looked at the heart monitor, which beeped every second. "Why am I here?" he asked. "Well when you saved Twilight from the fire," Rarity said. "you breathed in a lot of smoke. And I mean a lot." He smiled a weak smile at Twilight. "It was worth it." "Thanks, you saved my life." she said. "It was stupid, but I'm alive thanks to you." She leaned in and gave him a short, but strong, kiss on his lips. She could smell what was left of the smoke on his breath. "You're welcome." he said with a faint smile. "How long have I been here?" "The fire was yesterday." Rainbow Dash said. "You were lucky you didn't get lung cancer or something." "Well, Twilight would have breathed in more smoke than me, how come she's not in hospital?" "I was only in for a couple of hours. I'm very good with fire safety." Twilight said. "You never know when one's going to start." "Really? Then how'd you stop the smoke?" Time Turner asked. "Well, you're supposed to get low to the ground, because all the smoke will build up around the ceiling first." Time Turner thought back to yesterday when the fire happened. "What happened to the library? Did it survive?" Twilight shook her head sadly. "No, there's nothing left. Just a few books." "Oh no, that's terrible." Time Turner said. "What's going to happen now?" "Well," Twilight said with a slight smile. "the mayor is going to have it rebuilt, and she's going to get more books to fill it with." "That's nice, I suppose." He slowly got up out of his bed. He stood up and stretched his legs. "You can live at my house for the time being." he said to Twilight. "Until your house is rebuilt." She smiled a wide grin. "Really? That's great!" Time Turner and Twilight arrived home. He got out his keys and opened the door. They walked in, and almost immediately, she pressed her muzzle up against his lips with a strong force. They fell backwards onto the lounge and continued their powerful kiss. He held her in his forelegs, tightly embracing her. Twilight pulled her lips away and looked straight into his eyes. "I love you, Time Turner." she said. "You saved my life." "I know," he said, stroking her mane. "I love you too." "Thanks for letting me stay here. I really appreciate it." she said. "It's no problem." he said with a smile. "Actually, it's the opposite. I'm glad you're staying at my place." Twilight blushed and giggled. "Speaking of which," he said. "where's Spike at?" "He's staying with Rarity." "Oh, ok." Time Turner knew about Spike's crush on Rarity, it wasn't really that hard to figure out. Time Turner led Twilight into a room, showing her a bed. "This is the guest room, you can sleep in here." "Really? Thanks." she said happily. "Are you sure you don't mind? I don't want to be a bother." "It's fine. Be my guest." Time Turner said. "I've stayed at your house lots of times." Author's Note This chapter isn't really important to the storyline, it's more of just a filler. In this chapter, I wanted to show how strong their love was for each other, by giving Time Turner the courage to go into a burning house to save the mare he loves. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter VI: A Perfect Anniversary //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter VI: A Perfect Anniversary "Are you ready yet?" Time Turner called out to Twilight, who was upstairs. "Almost. Just give me a few more minutes." she replied. Time Turner wasn't at home. He wasn't in Twilight's new library either, which had just been finished last week, and although he was happy that it was done, he was still a little upset. He enjoyed Twilight's stay. Time Turner was actually in Canterlot, staying in one of the guest rooms in the royal palace. Twilight was upstairs, getting ready for their one-year anniversary date. He got off the bed and walked over to the window. Their first kiss, he remembered it like it was yesterday. "Twilight looked so beautiful that night." he thought to himself. He walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. He was extremely nervous. He had something special planned, and he hoping the night would go as well as he hoped. At that moment, Twilight came downstairs. Time Turner looked at her and smiled. She was wearing the dress which Rarity made for her, the one she wore on their first date. "Your old dress?" Time Turner asked. "I didn't know you still had that." "No, I'd never get rid off this. I wore this when we had our first date." she replied. "This is my most valued possession." They left the room and walked through the castle. "I'm glad Princess Celestia could let us stay here." Time Turner said. "She's just being nice." Twilight said. "It's our one-year anniversary." Across the hall, Twilight saw Celestia, and eagerly rushed over to her. "Princess Celestia, how are you?" Twilight asked. "I am quite well, Twilight. Do you have big plans for tonight?" the princess responded. "Oh, yes!" she responded excitedly. "We're going to go out to dinner at the new restaurant, the le Cheval le Dîner" She wasn't entirely sure that she had pronounced it right. "Well that sounds wonderful. I hope you two have a good time." Twilight leaned over and rested her head on Time Turner's shoulder. "It's going to be great." she said. "Yes." the princess said, and then she thought to herself. "Actually, how would you two like to have dinner in the royal dining room? It would be just the two of you." Time Turner and Twilight looked at each other. "That would be great." Twilight said. "What do you think, Time Turner?" "Yeah, I'd love that." he said, grateful to the princess for her kindness. "Well then, please enjoy Canterlot's finest cuisine. The dining room is in that room there." Princess Celestia said as she pointed her hoof down the hallway at a large door. "You can go in when it best suits you." "Okay, thanks a lot princess." Twilight said excitedly as she walked toward the doors. "Thanks for trying to make this night special." Time Turner said to Celestia. "I'm really grateful." "You're quite welcome." she replied. "I really appreciate what you're doing for Twilight. She has changed a lot in the past year, thanks to you." "Yes, she has." Time Turner said as she watched Twilight continue down the hall. "Well, I hope you two have a wonderful night. Let me know if you need anything else." "Oh no, you've done more than enough already." "Are you sure?" the princess asked. "Actually, you know that balcony, where he had our first kiss?" Time Turner said. Celestia nodded. "Well, could you possibly please make sure there's nopony else on there after dinner? I have something special for Twilight." "I'll see what I can do." Time Turner stared at Twilight from his chair, daydreaming about her. "You look really beautiful tonight." he told her, which he had already said a lot. "You look beautiful all the time." "Thanks." she said, blushing a little. "You look great too. I'm having a wonderful time." They continued their meals, which were of excellent standard, and he would occasionally have to wipe a drop of sweat from his forehead. He was extremely nervous. He was planning something wonderful, but he was hoping it would go how he had hoped. "Are you okay? You look a bit nervous." Twilight said. "Oh yeah, I'm fine. I'm just hoping you have a good night." Time Turner said. "I'm having a wonderful time." "The princess was really nice." Time Turner said. "I can't believe she let us use this whole room just for our date." "Well, she knows how much we love each other." Twilight said cheerfully. "She wanted to make our anniversary special." Time Turner looked around the room, and actually started to feel a little uncomfortable. That whole room, just for them. It was quite a large area, that could seat at least twenty ponies. "Thank again for letting me stay at your place for the past few months. I hope I wasn't too much trouble." Twilight said. "Oh no." Time Turner said reassuringly. "I really enjoyed your stay. It was great. It meant I got to see you every day." Twilight hinted a slight smile and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "You're the best coltfriend ever." she said as she hugged his foreleg. "You're so nice." They continued to eat, until they were both finished. "Did you enjoy your meals?" the waiter asked as he collected their plates. "It was wonderful, thank you." Twilight said. "Please give our compliments to the chef." "Yes, please do." Time Turner and Twilight left the dining room and went for a walk through the castle. After a few minutes, Time Turner grabbed her hoof. "Follow me." he said as he led her down the halls. They stopped when they reached the balcony on which they had shared their first kiss. It was empty, which was a big relief for him. "Do you remember our first kiss?" Time Turner asked. "Of course I do. It was one of the best moments of my life." Twilight said as she brushed her mane out of her eyes. "It was right here." "Yeah, it was. And that is why I wanted to bring you here for this moment." He held her hoof. "I remember when I first saw you, how pretty you looked. I've loved you from that very first moment, right up to now. You have changed my life for the better, and I want to thank you. One year ago, I would have been petrified to of had to go into a burning building to save somepony, but now I feel like I can do anything." Twilight began to blush bright red. "Come on, I'm not that great." she laughed. "But you are, and I love you more than anything. So that is why I'm prepared to do this. For both of us." "Time Turner? What are you doing?" Twilight asked suspiciously. "Something I've wanted to do for a long time." He got down onto one leg and pulled out a small ring box. "Twilight Sparkle?" "Ye- yes?" she stammered in anticipation. He opened the box, revealing a beautiful ring inside. "Will you marry me?" Rarity was sowing a tuxedo for another client, which had just come in this morning. "I wonder how their anniversary went last night." she said to herself. "I hope it went well." At that moment, she heard a knock at the door. She stopped the sowing machine and went over and answered the door. She was expecting it to be Twilight, but it turned out to be just Derpy on her mail run. "Oh, hello Derpy." she said, hoping she could just get back to her work. "May I help you?" "I have a letter here," she said, getting an envelope out of her bag. "for uhh..." She took a look at the envelope. "R- rah- ray- rayrite- Rayritee..." She looked back up at Rarity and smiled, hoping she did a good job. "Sure, close enough." she said as she took the letter off Derpy. "Bye." She shut the door and walked inside. She tore off the envelope and opened the letter. She began reading, but she was more just skimming through it as she wanted to get back to her work. "Dear Rarity, you are cordially invited, blah blah blah. The wedding of Time Turner and Twilight Sparkle. One month." she said as she folded the letter back up. "Sure, okay." She tossed the letter down onto the table and got back to her sowing, not realising what she had just read. She continued sowing, pressing her hoof down on the pedal and feeding the material through. As she sowed, the letter began to sink in. "Wait a minute!" she exclaimed as she picked up the letter again and reread it. "Wedding?!" She stared at the letter for a few moments, unsure about what was happening. "That's just..." She began to smile. "Perfect!" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter VII: Wedding Bells //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter VII: Wedding Bells Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Fluttershy all waited impatiently outside Twilight's library. They were waiting for her to return so they could talk about her wedding. "She's taking soooo long!" Rainbow Dash moaned as she hovered above the other four. "Now, Rainbow Dash, we can't rush her." Rarity said, still buzzing with excitement about the wedding. She didn't want to wait either. "We'll just have to... wait." "Look! There she is!" Pinkie Pie yelled when she saw Twilight coming toward the library. They all galloped towards her. "Oh, hello girls." Twilight said when the five ponies came up to her. "What's going on?" "Twilight, you're getting married!" Rarity said excitedly. "Yeah," she said with an obvious tone. "I know." "It's wonderful!" "We're really happy for you, Twilight." Fluttershy said. "Yeah, me too." Pinkie added. "Thanks, girls." Twilight said. "but I have to go." "Go? Where?" Rainbow Dash asked. "You just got here." "Oh, well I just came by to grab a few things. I going to stay at Time Turner's house for a while." Rainbow Dash was a little annoyed at that. "But your house just got rebuilt." she said. "They spent months working on it, and you haven't even spent a full seven nights there." "I know, I know." Twilight said, rolling her eyes. "I just want to spend more time with my fiancé." "Okay, whatever." Rainbow Dash said. Twilight entered the library and looked around. She was still pretty impressed at how well they did at recreating it. Every detail was correct. She grabbed a few things and went back outside. She was going to head back to Time Turner's house, but was stopped by Rarity. "Before you go, Twilight, I need to ask you something." she said. "Sure, what is it?" "Could I possibly have the honour of... making your wedding dress?" "You want to make my dress?" Twilight asked. "Oh, yes please!" Rarity begged as she nodded eccentrically. "Sure" she said, smiling. "I'd love for you to make it." "Yay!" Rarity squealed. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! It will be fabulous!" Twilight was confident that Rarity could do an excellent job with her wedding dress. She was an amazing dressmaker, so she knew that it would look great. "Bye girls. I'll see you later." Twilight said as she walked off. "Bye!" her friends said in unison. "See ya later, sugarcube." Applejack added at the end. "Hello, Twilight." Time Turner said when he answered the door. "Hi, Time Turner." she responded happily. "Please, come inside." he said as he stood aside, making room for Twilight to enter the doorway. She went into Time Turner's house and gave him a cute smile as she walked past him. She walked into the living room and sat down on his couch. "Did you enjoy last night?" he asked Twilight. Instead of speaking, she got back off the couch and walked over to him. She gave him a strong kiss, and he wrapped a hoof her shoulder. "I love you, and I want to marry you." she said. "So do I." Time Turner said, brushing her mane out of her eyes. "You're the most beautiful pony I've ever met." Twilight knew that Time Turner loved him so much, and she loved him too, with all her heart. She wanted to be with him forever, and she was willing to do anything to be with the colt she loved. Twilight paced nervously across the room, she was terrified. Queen Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon, even Discord didn't scare her as much as that moment. It was finally her wedding day; the one she had been anticipating for the past month, if not longer. She was in Canterlot, preparing for the ceremony. In the past week, she had become extremely nervous. Her friends had been very supportive, being there for her when she needed them. All of her friends were there in her room in the castle, except for Rarity, who was in the room where the ceremony was going to take place. "Are you excited?" Applejack asked Twilight. "I'm terrified," she replied. "I don't want to go out there." "Well it's too late to back out now, Sugarcube." she laughed. "Yeah, you've been waiting a month for this," Rainbow Dash added. "No, I've been waiting a lot longer than just a month to marry that colt." she said as she daydreamed about Time Turner. "Oh, look!" Pinkie Pie said, looking out of the window. "Rarity's coming back." Rarity ran through the door excitedly. "Twilight," she said. "It's time." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight's friends quickly sat down in the seats along the front of the room. Standing at the front was Time Turner, sweating slightly. Beside him was Princess Celestia who was going to be the one to wed them. The music began began to play, and everypony turned and watched Twilight slowly walk between the two rows of chairs toward Time Turner. When she reached the front, she stood facing him, ready for the moment that she had only dreamed of. "Fillies and gentlecolts." Princess Celestia said as she began the ceremony. "We are gathered here today to join these two ponies in the bonds of love." Twilight's five friends looked at each other and smiled, Rarity began to cry. "If any pony objects to the marriage of these two then may you speak now or forever hold their peace." The room was silent, except for Rarity's faint cry. "Then may we have the rings please, Spike?" Spike eagerly carried the cushion over to the princess which had the rings on it. She placed one over Twilight's horn and one onto the necklace which hung around Time Turner's neck. "Do you, Time Turner, take Twilight Sparkle to be your lawfully wedded mare, to have and to hold, until death do you part?" Time Turner looked into Twilight's eyes, and smiled. "I do." "And do you, Twilight Sparkle, take Time Turner to be your lawfully wedded colt?" She hesitated for a moment out of nervousness, yet she knew what she wanted. "I do." "Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you colt and mare." The princess kneeled toward them. "You may kiss the bride." Time Turner held Twilight in his forelegs and he looked into her eyes. This was the most wonderful moment of her life. She closed her eyes as he leaned toward her. A single moment passed before she felt his warm lips, passionately kissing her, and it was the best kiss of her life. Ten Years Later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight and Time Turner were sitting on a picnic blanket in the park. She was leaning her head against his shoulder. He had his foreleg around her, and watched as the clouds rolled by. It reminded him of the times when he was merely dating Twilight, and had no intention of marrying her. All those times they sat on Twilight's lounge, softly stroking her mane. It was some of his fondest memories. They smiled as they watched their beautiful daughter, Moonlight, playing in the grass with her two filly friends. Twilight loved her so much, yet she still enjoyed the few moments that she and Time Turner had alone. "Isn't she adorable?" Twilight said, admiring her daughter's cuteness. "Yeah, she's beautiful." Time Turner replied as she shifted slightly more towards his wife. "You're wonderful." Twilight said as she looked up into his eyes. "I love you." "I love you too." Time Turner replied as he leaned toward her an inch and kissed her. "Ewww.... Your parents are kissing." one of Moonlight's friends, Whirlwind, said to her. "Eww, gross." "Ha, I think it's sweet." said Rarity's daughter, Ruby. "Well I don't!" Moonlight argued. Moonlight gave Ruby a little push on the shoulder. "Tag! You're it!" she giggled as she got up and galloped around in circles, trying to avoid getting tagged by Ruby. "Tag!" Ruby said as she tackled Whirlwind into a puddle of mud. Ruby didn't pick up her mother's dislike of filthiness. Twilight laughed a little at the three fillies as they rolled around in the mud. At that moment, Rarity arrived at the park. "Hello, Twilight. Hi Time Turner." she said when she arrived. "How's Ruby going?" "Well... See for yourself." she replied as she pointed toward the three fillies, wrestling in the mud. Ruby stuck her head up and saw her mother over by the picnic rug. "Mummy!" she squealed as she bounced over to Rarity. She gave her a big hug by curling herself around her leg. "Oh, Ruby." she said as she looked at her filthy leg. "You really don't understand cleanliness." "Oh... Sorry, mother." Ruby said with an sarcastic tone, and then returned to her friends. Rarity sat down beside Twilight, careful to keep her muddy leg of the rug. "You should be proud. She's so adorable, Rarity." Twilight said. "Yes... Quite." she said unsurely as she tried to get the mud off her leg. "She reminds me of your sister, Sweetie Belle, when she was a little filly." Time Turner added. "Yeah, she does a bit." Time Turner stood up and walked towards the fillies. He attempted to get them to stop rolling around in the mud. Twilight looked toward Rarity, who was lost in thought about her daughter. "Everything's wonderful." she said to her. "Yes, it is." Rarity replied, not even focusing on what she had said. "I have a wonderful husband," Twilight said, looking over at Time Turner. "a beautiful daughter, and five great friends." "Yes, your daughter is very cute, and Time Turner is a wonderful pony." she replied, admirably. "I love him so much." Author's Note I apologise if you didn't like my ending. I really wanted to get it done. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter III: A Night to Remember //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter III: A Night to Remember Twilight and Time Turner arrived in Canterlot, and their carriage pulled up outside the castle. They both got out and looked at all the fancy ponies dressed up in dresses and suits. "It feels good to be back in Canterlot." Twilight said. "I haven't been here for a while." "Yeah, I came here once, but that was a few years ago." Time Turner replied. He turned to Caramel and Sunny. "Thanks, guys. I owe you one." "Ok, sure, but what do we do while we wait for the ball to be over?" Caramel asked. "Explore Canterlot." Time Turner said. "Just leave the carriage over there and go off and have fun. The ball should be over in a few hours." Twilight and her date walked towards the drawbridge and entered the castle grounds. They went to enter the large double doors to the castle, but were stopped. "Tickets please?" said a familiar voice. Twilight looked up at the pony who was taking tickets, but was surprised to see who it was. It wasn't a pony, it was in fact Discord. He was wearing a suit with a bow tie. "Oh, hello Discord." Twilight said, trying not to smirk at him. "Hello, Twilight. Long time no see." Discord said. "The princess said I could help out by standing here and taking tickets." "Okay, that sounds... interesting." Twilight replied. Just then, Discord noticed Time Turner standing next to her. "Oh. Who's this?" "This is Time Turner." Twilight said happily. "He's joining me at the ball tonight." "Hmm? A date?" Discord said with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, sort of." Twilight giggled. "Hi," Time Turner said to Discord. "How are you?" "Fine, I suppose." he replied. "This job could be a bit more 'lively', if you know what I mean." Twilight and Time Turner handed Discord their tickets and entered the castle. Inside, they saw Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, both standing at the top of the staircase. They were greeting the ponies that entered the castle and went upstairs to the ballroom. Twilight grabbed Time Turner by the hoof and took him over to them, excitedly. "Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. It's so good to see you again." Twilight said excitedly. "Hello, Twilight. I'm glad you could make it." Celestia said. "How have you been?" "Oh, I've been great." Twilight smiled. "Did you have much trouble deciding on who to take to the ball with you?" "Oh, sort of. Not too much trouble." "And who did you decide upon?" Twilight ushered Time Turner forward towards the princesses. "Princess Celestia, this is Time Turner." she said. "Time Turner?" the princess said, looking down at him. "It's a honour, your majesty." he said as he kneeled down. Celestia smiled. "Well, I hope you two enjoy the ball." She looked at Twilight and winked. They continued up the stairs into the ballroom, where there were lots of ponies dancing the waltz. There was also an orchestra playing very formal music. Several waiters walked around the room, holding trays of food and champagne. "Err, would you- would you care to" Time Turner stuttered. "dance?" Twilight blushed. "I'd love to." They stepped onto the area where the ponies were dancing. They got up on their hind legs and held each others hooves. "I'm a bit rusty at this. I haven't done the waltz for a while." Time Turner said. "I'm sure you'll do fine." Twilight giggled. They then began to waltz around the room, and to Time Turner's surprise, he was quite good at it. As they danced, they stared deep into each others eyes. "You look really beautiful tonight." Time Turner said. He wanted to tell her that she looked beautiful all the time, but he was a bit shy for that. "Thanks." Twilight said shyly. "You look very handsome." They continued to dance, Time Turner entranced by Twilight's beauty. He was in love with her, and he knew it. Madly, deeply in love. Twilight was also in love with him. As they danced, she stared into his deep, beautiful blue eyes. "You know, I've never done this before." Twilight said as they moved around the room, along with all the other ponies. "Never done what before?" Time Turner asked. "I've never been on a date." "Really? Neither have I." "Oh, okay." she said. "So this is a first for both of us." "Ugh, this is boring." Discord complained. "Where's the fun?" "It's not meant to be fun, Discord." Princess Celestia said. "It's meant to be formal and romantic." "Can't I play just a little plank? It'll liven things up a bit." "No, Discord. I want this night to be perfect. It's Twilight's first date." Discord snapped his fingers, which made a couch appear underneath him and he lounged out across it. "Do you have to be so impolite?" Celestia asked. "What? What's wrong with this?" he asked. "You're being rude." "Fine, have it your way." He snapped his fingers again, making the couch disappear. Ignoring the princess orders, he snapped his fingers again. "Ugh." Time Turner said, looking down at his tux. It was covered in champagne. He looked at the waiter who had tripped over and was now lying on the floor in front of his hooves. "Sorry sir. My apologies." he said as he stood back up. "I'll get someone to clean that off for you." "Look, don't bother. I'll do it myself." he looked toward Twilight. "I'll be back in a sec." He went into the restrooms, grabbed a few paper towels, and began wiping the champagne off his jacket. He returned to the ball a few minutes later, but couldn't see Twilight. She wasn't in the room any more. He then spotted her outside on the balcony, staring up, out at the night sky. There was nopony else on the balcony either. He walked across to Twilight and stopped almost beside her, seperated by a mere few inches. "Stars sure are pretty tonight." Twilight said. "Yeah." Twilight and Time Turner both looked at each other. "You look really beautiful." Time Turner said. He moved closer to her, looking at Twilight's beautiful face that was dimly lit in moonlight. He felt an outburst of affection overcoming him. He compulsively reached out a hoof and placed it on her cheek. She didn't resist. Her heart beating heavily, she stared into his eyes. He stared back, and drew closer to her. She closed her eyes, and prepared herself for the moment which she had been wanting for so long. A few seconds passed, and then she finally felt his warm lips press up against hers. At that very moment, she felt an explosion in her heart. She kept her eyes closed, kissing him back. Celestia and Luna watched them from across the room. "Oh, Luna." Celestia said with a smile. "She's all grown up." They kissed passionately, Time Turner still holding her face. After what felt like ages to Twilight, their mouths finally parted, and they stared back into each others eyes. Time Turner continued to hold his hoof to her cheek, silently staring into her purple eyes. After giving him a weak smile, Twilight rested her head on his shoulder. Time Turner gave her a small kiss on the top of her head. "Twilight, I love you." he said. Twilight looked into his eyes. "I love you too." "Would you like to come inside?" Twilight asked when they arrived home, just past one in the morning. "Oh, I should really be getting home." Time Turner said. "Come on, just for a drink. I've got a bottle of champagne I've been saving for a special occasion." "Well, okay. But maybe just a few glasses." So they went inside and had a drink, careful not to wake up Spike. Author's Note How do you think I went with the kissing scene? Did I do a good job at it, or did I fail?
