Lightning looked out the side of the carriage that the two Pegasus were pulling through the air. He could see the trees and the small little town below. He was alone in the carriage he always seemed to be alone. He was in math class taking notes on arithmetic along with the other young ponies in his class. He looked out the window at the cloud-like buildings around the school. One time when he was looking out the window he saw the Wonderbolts flying overhead it was the coolest thing he had ever saw. He only wished that could happen everyday. He turned to the kid sitting behind him and said with a smile, "Hey buddy, what's up?". The young colt's name was Bluewing, a pony with a dark blue coat and a black mane. He was heavy-set for his age, but short in height. He had a cutie mark of a rain cloud which meant he was great a working in the rain or something like that. "Why are you talking to me", Bluewing said, in an annoyed voice. Lightning wondered why he was so mad, but he decide that maybe if he was persistent he would grow to like him. Sadly he would find out that he was very wrong about this idea. Lightning then tried to talk to him about things he liked and people he knew. Whenever Bluewing replied to him it would always be a something like ya, whatever, no or not responding at all. After a while Lightning decide to try again the next day. Well the next couple of days went by and Bluewing still didn't open up to him. Lightning came to the sad conclusion that Bluewing hated him and had no intention of ever wanting to talk to him. The thing that lightning didn't expect is that without knowing it he ended up talking to him on impulse. This was because of where he was seated in class he was in the front row on the right end of the room. He only really knew one or two other ponies in his class and they were both on the opposite end of the classroom. The only other to ponies he could talk to were the two mares, but they didn't seem anymore interested in talking to him anymore then Bluewing did. So one day when the teacher gave the class time for the class to work on their math homework assignment. Lightning ended up being so bored with his homework he ended up talking about how pointless the homework assessment was and impulsively saying,"Bluewing you’re a very quiet guy way don't you talk more" to Bluewing. This is when Bluewing jump out of his seat and yelled at the top of his lungs, "You want to know why I don't talk to you? It's because you are the most annoying pony I have ever meet and you want to know something else everypony else in the classroom hates you too!!!!!". Lightning looked around the room to see if anypony else would step in and have his back, but no one did not even the teacher who was seating at her desk just a couple feet away. Lightning felt like he was going to cry, but he just looked away, and sat back down in his seat. After that day something happened to Lightning he could no longer talk to ponies the same way. He ended up having a hard time holding a single conversation with any pony for a while. After a couple of weeks past and their teacher decided to make a different seating arrangement. Lightning ended up sitting next too a pony named Dove ,a mare who had a blonde mane in a bun and a light blue coat. She had braces and no cutie mark yet. Dove immediately started to talk to Lightning with a smile on her face. "Hello, what's your name my name is Dove." ,Dove said. Lightning was surprised and shyly said, "Um, hi my name is Lightning". "'Oh hi Lightning I would have talked too you in class before, but our seats were to far apart I couldn't talk to you and never see you outside of school because I mainly am a home pony so i never get out so it's great we finally get a chance to talk" she said with joy. "Ya, great" Lightning said with some hesitation. The two of them talked the rest of the class period they found out they like the same type of music and had some of the same friends. They talked to each other over the next week. They then decide to hangout together after school one day. When Lightning got to the place they agreed to meet up he saw Dove was not alone. She had two other ponies waiting with her. One was a pony named Jewel, who was anther pony in their class. The other was pony to lightning's surprise was Bluewing. Bluewing immediately said "buddy what's up!", and raised his hoof for a hoof-bump. Lightning not knowing what else to gave him a hoof-bump back. The other two mares just laughed at the sight of the two of them. Dove then said " Ok great, now that everypony is here we can head over to the movie theater there is a movie I have been dying to see. " ya and I know the best way to see it" said Bluewing. Lightning wondered what that might mean, but he was pretty sure he had an idea. The group of four went in through the back of the movie theater. This didn't surprise Lightning since a lot of ponies did this to see movies for free, but it was surprising to see Dove being the leader of the group. It was even more surprising that she was friends with Bluewing. They took their seats in the theater. The movie was called The Big Ponebowski a comedy. A couple of minutes in the movie Dove and Jewel got up to use the restroom. Then a couple of minutes later Bluewing left to get more snacks. After fifteen to thirty more minutes passed Lightning was starting to get really nervous. Why haven't the any of the other's came back yet? he thought to himself. He look around the whole movie theater it was empty. Then he noticed something coming from outside of the main door to the room it was like smoke, but wasn't it was, water vapor? He opened the door and a big cloud of hot scalding water vapor came in. Not knowing what else to do he went out they way he came in. There he was able to see a little bit of what was happening. He couldn't believe it, but half of the movie theater was gone it was evaporating into the air. At that very moment a fully grown pegasus flew over and tackled him to the ground and said with confidence" ha we have you now". He then carried Lightning over to a Blue and gold carriage with bars for windows. After throwing him in Lightning looked out through the bars. He couldn't believe it, but their they were. All of the ponies he came to the theater with we’re standing right outside the theater. Lightning yelled out "guy's guy's hey guy's help me!!", but the three of them only chuckled as the carriage pulled him away. He got off lucky that he didn't go to a juvenile prison that day. The theater ended up being caused by an electrical fire, which everypony around Cloudsdale still thinks he started. It didn't even make any sense because he wouldn't know how to even start one if he could, but because no one could find any real proof that he did it he got off the hook. This is why his father had him transferred over to another school. If he stayed he would surely be harassed by everypony around. Everypony he has ever known was gone now and now he is one of the most hated ponies in Cloudsdale. He couldn't stop thinking about if it was Bluewing who started the fire, but he guessed it didn't matter anymore, since no one seemed to believe anything he said. He couldn't get why anypony would ever want to set another pony up. It just didn't make any sense to him. When the carriage Landed Lightning got out and payed the Pegasi who were pulling it and looked at his new home. It was a small cottage with a tan outside just like all of the other houses around. It was just on the end of the path leading outside of town. The house had a old pink door, light pink windows, a little red chimney and hay on the roof. Lighting opened the door to the little house. The house was dark and looked like something out of a horror story. He looked for a light switch on the inside of the door he just walked through. The entryway was very small, it opened up to the living room. There was a small kitchen and a door that lead to the basement. There was no upstairs to the house. The only three other rooms in the house were down a hallway. To the left was a guest room and beside it was a bathroom. To the right of the hallway was another room which was where his bedroom was. He went inside and through his luggage onto the ground of the bedroom floor. He climbed up onto the bed and pulled out a picture of his mother from his bag. He stared at it for a couple of minutes and felt a deep pain in his chest. A tear come out of his eye and ran down his face. "Mom I wish you were here I just hate being alone i hope someday dad will come home" he he whispering to himself. He looked into the mirror by his bedside.He looked at the blank empty spot by his leg. Someday he hoped it would have something to do with being a great flyer. This thought gave him a little bit of a smile. With a big yawn he stretched his legs and wings. He then put his mother’s picture on his nightstand, then wrapping himself up in his blankets he went to bed. He jumped out of bed and shouted at the top of his lungs " Oh no, oh god no i'm late for my first day of school". He forgot to set his alarm clock last night. Lightning quickly rush out the door. He didn't have time to think about brushing his teeth or eating breakfast he had to get to class. He sprinted down the path leading from his house to the school. Along the way he saw a Pink pony jumping up and down with the biggest smile. Lighting was running way too fast and run head first into her. He fell back onto the ground and looked up at the other pony. She stared at him with gleaming eyes and a loving smile. "Hello, I haven't seen you before little guy. what's your name my name is Pinkie Pie " she said with a big smile on her face. "um, Lightning" he said with uncertainty in his voice. "well hi there Lightning were you and your family the ones who moved into the old cottage at the end of town" she said with curiosity. "um ya that was me.... look I have to" pinkie interrupted him "coool so, oh my jiminy crickets" she jump with a scream ten feet in the air. Pinkie Pie then disappeared in a blink of an eye as if she was never even there to begin with. Lightning just stood there in stock as if he just saw a ghost.What the hell was that all about he thought to himself. Applebloom turned to Scootaloo on her left. "Hey, hey Scootaloo" she whispered leaning over her desk. Scootaloo turned "what is it?" she asked. "Are we still on for the party for Saturday night" Apple Bloom asked in excitement. "Yeah, I can't wait, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are throwing their first party" said Scootaloo. Sweaty Bell chimed in "YA I KNOW RIG-". BANG at that very moment the door of the class room flung open and a small pegasus dashed into the classroom. Losing his balance, he drove his head into Miss Cheerilee's desk, knocking over a stack of papers and a lamp. Miss Cheerilee turn around and stared at him with a smile. She said with a kind voice " you must be the new kid am I right?". Getting up to his feet quickly he shouted "yes mam, I am so sorry i'm late I didn't set my alarm clock" Miss Cheerilee nodded, "That's fine just don't do it again" she said " please go introduce yourself to the rest of the class". The young pony then walked up to the front of the class to introduce himself. "hello everyone i'm Lightning, um nice to meet you all I guess. I like to do many things such as camping, fishing and traveling. I hope one day I could be a soldier, a sailor like my dad or even a wonderbolt" he said with the biggest, most socially awkward smile ever. The other students just sat and stared at him. Miss Cheerilee started clapped her hooves together and the other kids in the class clapped along with her. "That was great Lightning a wonderbolt great you can now take a seat next to Featherweight " Miss Cheerilee she said with a smile. Lightning went and took his seat next to the skinny looking pegasus. Miss Cheerilee then started up her lecture about Equestrian history again. All the other foals in the classroom were silent the rest of the entire class period until lunch. When lunch came Lightning sat alone with no one to talk to. He felt like he was about to cry, but luckily he was able to hold it in. It wasn't the fact that he was sitting alone that made him sad, it was that he had to do it while looking at everyone else sitting with their friends. He felt like a complete loser. When recess came Lightning and all the other foals went out to the playground. Lightning of course was the last to go out into the playground. He looked at everyone talking to one another and starting to play games. He was a little surprised that no one came up to introduce themselves to him, but this only bothered him a little bit. He walk up to two unicorns who were bickering by the tree by the school house. One had a snail for a cutie mark and the other had pair of scissors. "um... hi guys what are you up to" Lightning said with some uncertainty. The two unicorns ignored him and continued their argument. "Guys, guys! Hey, guys!", he said trying to get their attention. He then came to the conclusion that they didn't want to talk to him. Lightning started to walk away quickly, not wanting to be annoying them anymore. At the very moment he started to walk away Snips turn and said, " hey wait up friend don't leave were just fighting about who has a bigger chill to pull ratio". "Who has the better what?", Lightning said. "chill to pull ratio dude it's how many mares you can get without doing anything", Snips said. "I would say my chill to pull is like five out of five mares" Snips said confidently. "More like one out of everypony in Equestria", Snails said jokingly. "More like he has no chill to pull", Lightning said. Snails and Lightning burst out laughing. "Come on guys that's not funny, all the mares know my name i'm Snips, the sharpest cat around town" Snips said confidently. Snails and Lightning took a quick look at each other and started laughing again until they came to tears. " Come on, guys! Stop, stop!" Snips said with an embarrassed voice. There's no way he was going to lose. He jumped with a great burst of speed over the fence going into the town. His heart was racing fast,his legs getting tired, and he had a sharp pain in his chest. He look forward with great determination in his eyes and a smile on his face. Rushing and dashing with great speed be busted into the schoolyard. Sliding on his hooves he stopped in a cloud of smoke. "Victory is mine" Lighting said in a loud and bragging voice. Lightning looked behind him down the path he ran down. "Come on guys you could have at least tried to have keep up with me" he said jokingly. The two out of shape unicorn came down the path. They were both out of breath and leaning on one another for support. When Snips and snails finally got to the school yard they both collapsed. "You two look as if you’re about to die" Lightning said with a smile. "Why In Celestia were we doing racing again" snips said tiring to catch his breath. " Because Snails made a bet that he was faster than me because he was taller" Lightning said with pride in his voice. "Besides we were going to be late for class". "You didn't have to race with Snips" Snails said. " Actually Snips I was surprised you were even able keep up with Snails" Lightning said jokingly " Oh please, i'm way faster than Snails" Snips said confidently. " What faster!" snails said shocked. "I went back to run with you after I saw there was no way I could catch up to Lightning, how in the world does that make you faster than me" Snails said jokingly at snails. "Ok ok so i'm not the fastest guy in our group, but i'm still the leader" Snip said even more confidently with his chest out. The other two busted out laughing into tears. "What !" the other two said with a shock look on their face. "No Snips if anyones the leader in this group it's me" Lightning said while doing a strut. " What no way i'm older and taller than you of you I should be the leader" snails said. The augment continued to get bigger and bigger. Each was coming up the stupidest reason of why they should lead the group and what not. This made the three of them completely forgot about class and that they were already late for class. Scootaloo looked out the window at the three babbling colts with amazement. She turned to the two crusaders with a shocked look on face. She and the other cutie mark crusaders were seating in their desks listening to Ms. Cheerilee teach. "Don't those guys know class has already started?" Scootaloo said with a disbelief in her voice. "Knowing those guys they probably didn't even know we have class" Applebloom said jokingly "It seems that the new kid has became really good friends with Snips and Snails" Sweetie Belle said. " Ya they’re like the three stooges" Scootaloo said joking. The three of them laughed at the three colts in amusement. This got Ms. Cheerilee's attention. "Girls is their something you would like to share with the class" Ms. Cheerilee said kindly. "Actually we do have something to say" said Scootaloo. At that second the three of the of them jumped out of their seats and ran to the front of the class and Sweetie Belle took the lead. The class busted up with excitement at the news of the party and at the monument the door in the class room flew open. The so called three stooges came running in one after another. " Did somepony say party" the three colts said with excitement. " Yes we did it will be at the end of the week at Apple Bloom’s house" said Scootaloo. " So... everyone can come right" Lightning said with a big smile. "Yes" said Scootaloo. At that very moment the three colts realized the Ms. Cheerilee was giving them a evil look. "Hi boys, may I ask where you've been for the last fifteen minutes of class?" Ms. Cheerilee said with a unhappy look on her face. "Would you believe we were saving Equestria?" Lightning said jokingly. "You three can stay after class in detention. Now, please take your seats" Ms. Cheerilee said in a stern voice. So the three colts then took their seats in the class and after school was over they stayed an hour for detention. ..... It was almost dark the three colts walked side by side one another with excitement for the night ahead of them. The light of the street led the way for the three of them it gave them a sense of freedom. Yes, in their minds this was a night they would never forget. This night they would be known to all as the coolest ponies in Ponyville, if not all of Equestria. The three best friends had been planning what they were going to do at the party ever since they found out about it. They have been practicing their so-called killer dance moves everyday after school and even came up with some killer one liners for any cute mares they want to flirt with.One-liners like, 'baby, you must be a pegasus, because you've been flying through my mind all day' or, 'oh my god how did the winner of the Miss Equestria contest get all the way over here?' The three of them arrived at the gate of Sweet Apple Acres. Lighting looked up in amazement there were apple trees as far as the eye can see and in the middle of it all a house with a red barn, all under the beautiful night sky. When they arrived at the door to the house they read a sign saying go to the barn. So the three of them preceded to the barn door. The lights of the barn were dim and he couldn't hear any noise coming from the inside. Lightning knocked on the door wondering if there was a party at all. Scootaloo answered the door to the barn while she was drinking through a straw of a drink she had in her hand. "Hey guys what up here for the party" Scootaloo said. "You know it Scootaloo where there’s a party me and my boys are always sure to be there" Snips said confidently. "Right, well come on in then" Scootaloo said. The three friends entered the barn, which was covered with party decorations that they could barely make out. The few lights in the room were bright green, but the room was almost completely dark. There was a strobe light which had lasers of many different colors shooting out from all of it's sides and very loud music coming from a hug stereo. There was a table with food which they could barley, which Snip and Snails head to it almost immediately. Lightning laughed to himself those two would head for the food right away. Looking around the room Lightning saw many ponies talking with their friends. There weren't that many ponies out on the dance floor. He then spotted a pretty pink pony with a diamond Tiara on her head standing by herself. Lightning felt like he couldn't move. It's like a giant pit opened up in his stomach, which keep him from moving his legs and mouth. "Come on Lightning, it just a mare you've talked to plenty of mares before" he thought to himself. He imagined himself going right up to her with style and being a total chick magnet. All he would have to do is walk up with his chest out and say: "Haven’t I seen you before? Maybe in my dreams?" he would say with a devilish smile on his face and she would be all over him. Very slow and nervously he walked up to the pony with the Diamond Tiara. "Hey, um what's ,What's up" he said with a big smile. The pink pony looked at him with a disgusted look on her face. "Ew way are you talking to me you creep" she said then walked away to a group of other ponies. Lightning just stood there shocked with his mouth open for a couple of minutes at what just happened. He just shot himself in the foot. He looked over at his friends still eating at the table. Lightning wasn't hungry at all right now if there was anything he wanted to do right now it was to go to bed. He was tired and could feel a deep pain in his chest. He didn't even know why he was there at the moment. Snips and Snails are great friends, but if he just wanted to hang out with them they wouldn't have gone to a party. Maybe he just needs some fresh air he thought. Lightning headed for the barn door and went outside. The stars in the sky looked so beautiful and from outside the barn Lightning couldn't hear a thing. Everything was dead silent. He took a seat and laid on his back against a nearby tree so he could look up at the night sky. The look of her smile made his heart beat stop. "You're Apple Bloom right?" Lightning said shocked. "Yep and you're Lightning am I right?" Apple Bloom said sweetly . "Ya that's right" said Lightning. "What are you doing out here anyways" Apple Bloom said. "Looking up at the stars" Lightning said suddenly realizing that he looks like a complete loser. "Oh then can I join you" Apple Bloom said . she then moved closer to him and lade right up next to him. Lightning then felt a bolt of heat rush over his body right when he felt Apple Bloom’s shoulder touch him. The both of them laid there for about thirty minutes talking about things they liked, people they both new, and told funny stories to one another. Lightning loved when Apple Bloom laughed it sounded really cute. Apple Bloom looked at Lightning like she wanted to say something, but couldn't. Lightning wondered what it could possibly be. "Lightning" Apple Bloom said immediately cut off by Lightning. "Do you want to dance with me" Lightning blurted out. Apple Bloom looked shocked " sure I was just about to ask you the samething" she said with a smile. The two of them return into the barn. Immediately when the two of them entered they were greeted by their friends. "Lightning where have you been brother we been looking everywhere for you" said Snips. "Oh you know out" Lightning he said a little embarrassed that he left his friends. Lightning then walked over to Apple Bloom who was talking to her friends. " Lightning I would like you to meet Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo" Apple Bloom said. "Hi nice to meet you by the way where did you get all of this stuff for this party anyways?" Lightning said. "Oh we have a friend who really knows how to throw a party she got us everything" Scootaloo said. "Oh and your parents are ok with all of this?" Lightning said. "Oh no Apple Bloom’s family went out of town she was able to convince her sister that she was old enough to be home alone" Scootaloo said. "Hey Lightning and I were just going to go dancing would you guys like to join us?" Apple Bloom said. "Sure sounds fun" the other two said with excitement. The four of them then proceeded to the dance floor. "Hey wait for us" Snips and Snails said finally realizing what was going on. The music was loud and exciting. The three mares easily got into the music and started to dance. It took Lightning a couple of seconds, but he was able to do something resembling dancing which was pretty good sense he wasn't much of a dancer. Then at that very moment another song came on. It was a song he knew very well it was one of his favorites. The music seem to start flowing through him. As he started to move faster and faster his moves got more aggressive. He started to do things like moon walking, break dancing and things he never even knew he could do. Other ponies started to see how good he was and started to form a circle around him. He started to dance like John Travolta from Saturday Night fever. He stood there for a couple of seconds stunned. He felt embarrassed because he was going to make a fool out of himself in front of everyone even Apple Bloom. That's when an idea hit him like a truck. He ran over to Apple Bloom quickly grabbing her by the hoof and leading her out on the dance floor. He proceeded to do a variety of moves which Apple Bloom started to pick up on and then started to follow. Lightning then took her by the hoof and spun her around a couple of times. The two of them move perfectly in sync. After a couple of spins and other moves Lightning thought it was time for the grand finale. He grabbed Apple Bloom and through her up spinning in the air and catching her. There she laid in his arms looking into his eyes. He moved his lips closer to hers and she to his. Boom!! the door to the barn flew open and two grown ponies enter the barn one a mare with an orange coat the other a red colt. "What in tarnations is going on here?" the mare said in an angry voice. Apple Bloom jumped out of Lightning's arms and looked at the two ponies in shock. "Applejack, Big Mac nice to see you. I thought you were going to be gone for the weekend visiting Apple Strudel with Granny Smith" Apple Bloom said nervously. "We ended up having to change our plans and come back. Anyways Applebloom I thought I told you not to throw a party when we were gone" Applejack said in a angry voice. Apple Bloom started to speak when she was cut of by Applejack. " I don't want to hear it you’re grounded young lady. As for everyone else you all can go home right now the party is over now goodbye" Applejack said in a demanding tone. Everyone then slowly started leaving the barn to go home. "Come on Lightning lets go" said Snips. So the three of them started to walk home with each other. "by the way how did you learn to dance like that" said Snips. "I don't really know it just came to me I guess" Lightning said. "I see you and Apple Bloom were getting pretty close" said Snails. "What you don't know what you’re talking about" Lightning said blushing. "Whatever you say Romeo" Snails said with a chuckling laugh. "Romeo" Lightning said out loud to himself. In an Instant Lightning turned and started running back the way they came. "Wait where are you going? " Snips yelled. " I'll tell you tomorrow morning just wait tell then" Lightning said while running away. Snips and Snails just stood there and stared at each other as their best friend ran away. Lightning ran as hard as he could. He need to get back to Sweet Apple Acres he just had to. When Lightning finally reached the farm he approached the house quietly he didn't want to get caught. He started to look through windows of the house until he found Apple Bloom's room. She looked like she was getting ready for bed. "Ok you've made it here Lightning now all you have to do is get her attention" he thought to himself. Lightning then noticed the barn was still open he wondered if the stereo was still in there. Lightning quickly went into the barn and saw the stereo. He took out the stereo and flipped through the music they had, but couldn't find anything that fit the mood he was looking for. He noticed a box labeled Big Mac he looked as he through it to find many old CD's of many artistes. He found one that he remembered his dad having. He called it grown colt music and was for only older colts to play for older mares. He read the first song on the album it said Sexual Healing. As the music started to play he saw the light come on in the room and Apple Bloom answered the window. "What in the hell are you doing" Apple Bloom said in an embarrassed voice. At that very moment Lightning realized that he must look like a total creep at that very moment. Right now some colt she just met was standing outside her window playing some crazy song. "Um, I just wanted to see you again" Lightning said embarrassed. "She's not going to be doing anything for a while she's grounded" said a voice coming from inside the house. Applejacks sister then came to the window. "Turn that music off ponies are trying to sleep" Applejack said with a demanding voice. Lightning did as she said and turn off the music. "Applejack come on he's my new friend and we didn't even have a chance to say goodbye to each other thanks to you" Apple Bloom said. Applejack looked out the window at Lightning with a death stare. Lightning almost died where he stood. "Fine you've got five minutes" said Applejack. When she finally left the room. Apple Bloom popped her head out the window. "What did you want" Apple Bloom asked in a curious voice. " Um, I wanted to know if maybe you wanted to hang out sometime" Lightning said. " I can't I'm grounded for forever" she said sadly. " How long is forever?" Lightning asked. "About a week"Apple Bloom said. "Well what about then?" Lightning asked. "Sure what did you have in mind"Apple Bloom asked. "You know just some of my friends hanging out with your friends" Lightning said. "Oh...ok sounds good I'll tell Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle"Apple Bloom said. "Great so I'll see you then" Lightning said. The two of them said their goodbyes and Lightning went home. End of CH2 Ok i hope everyone is liking the story thus far I thought it was funny.
