Chapters Dash wants to be her Canary
It was a pretty normal day in PonyVille, the birds were chirping, the ponies were happy and the sun was shining. At least it would be for the next hour or so, the weather team was setting up for a big storm. It was going to last the whole night, so most Ponies were already locking up shop, except for one to buried in books to notice. Twilight Sparkle was hiding her shame, she had just creaked open a romance novel, 'It's so cheesy, but i can't stop reading!' she thought to herself. She made sure nopony was looking, she had sent Spike on some errands and was completely alone. She began to read.
Rainbow Dash kept looking down at the library, 'I wonder what Twilight's doing right now?' the pegasus thought to herself, Maybe I could stop by, just for a minute.' She looked around her, her portion of the work for the storm was done, so she had the rest of the day to herself. She took off for the library, a little nervous. After all she had had a crush on Twilight since she first got to PonyVille. It wasn't uncommon in this day and age, ponies were accepting in the 11th century, compared to a few centuries ago, where villagers would shun anyone labeled 'different'. But once Celestia had found out about this she cracked down hard. There was no question of 'right and wrong', anypony could love anypony they wanted.
"Twilight," Rainbow Dash entered her friends library, "I was wondering if I could chill with-" She saw Twilight, reading something that wasn't scientific, or magic related. It was a trashy romance novel. "I was wondering if I could Chill with you for a while." It was everything Dash could do not to explode from laughter, apparently Twilight noticed this.
"Twilight, its okay." Rainbow Dash giggled, "I mean when you spend all your time in a library, your bound to have some urges to pick up a romance novel." She said so with a sort of 'matter-of-factness' revealing a bit to much about her own habits.
"So you know quite a bit about these books?" Twilight questioned, putting the book into her desk.
"Sure," Twilight said, "Let me just go write a note to tell Spike where we'll be." And with that she trotted off. Leaving Rainbow Dash alone in the large room. She immediately searched the desk, and found the book. True Night-Mares , Rainbow Dash recognized this title, it was about two mares who fall in love. 'T-Twilight is reading something like this?' Looking at the back she noticed the rating, 'Clearly Twilight is "expanding" her preferences.' she thought. But, does that mean? I could have a shot! a small smile grew on her face, ever expanding. The crush that began so small had manifested into a slight obsession, Rainbow Dash had even volunteered to set up the clouds over the library every day for a month.
"Okay, I have to think of something fun to do with her," Rainbow looked at the clock, 5 o'clock. 'I wonder if Twi's ever even been to a bar?'
The two friends had entered the small building, for a pub it was nice, and not crowded with the usual scum that lurked around these places. It also appeared to have some kind of party going on. A bunch of Pegasus Colts in jerseys were holding up a trophy. When the one that was being hoisted up looked over and recognized the the rainbow maned mare.
"Oi," he said, "Here to celebrate our victory Dashie?" the Colt had called out, with an accent that would put Rarity to shame, "Well then come 'ere, drinks are on me!"
"You know them," Twilight said with a surprised tone, "I didn't know you kept such friendly company." she smiled but was then hoisted up and carried next to the head colt.
"I'm Kicker Night," he introduced himself, "And I've known Dashie since summer flight camp, every year we come to PonyVille, every year for the Squash tourney!" He said, "And this year we are the victors!" he raised a hoof to the sky, and his friends cheered. "Over here are, Moogley, Vyse and Mash, the best mates a Colt could ask for, just don't ask about his brother Banger," he pointed to Mash, and they all started cracking up.
"What's Squash?" Twilight asked, clearly confused on the subject.
Unbeknownst to Rainbow Dash, Twilight was quite a drinker "Well in Canterlot, most meals are served with wine." Twilight said, "So where are you all staying? Trottingham is a far ways off."
"Well normally we would stay at a hotel, but my sister offered to hold us up for a few days, and I promised Pip I'd teach him to play." Kicker said, "My nephew is the most important thing in my life and," he trailed off going on and on about Pip, who had recently moved from Trottingham, he pulled out pictures and they sang songs as they were progressively getting shit faced, before anyone had noticed it was raining.
"Oh-oh, noes" Rainbow said, "How can i get homes now" She could barely stand so flying was out of the question.
"Twi, you don't own a couch!" Rainbow Dash said and started laughing her flank off.
"You knoow Twilight," Rainbow Dash began, "Your cute when your drunked." she looked into Twilight's eyes.
"Oh, I know what you meant," Dash said in a seductive tone.

Twilight awoke with a terrible pain in her head, it felt like somepony had stuck a chisel into her head. What was even more surprising was that Rainbow Dash was in her bed, Back facing her. Twilight assumed that her friend had just spent the night, it wasn't uncommon for friends to share a bed, especially when the owner didn't have anywhere else to sleep. As if Twilight's thoughts were out loud her friend awoke.
"What?" the pegasus said, "Where am I, ow!" Pain surged through her skull, she looked around, 'I'm in a bed, that's a plus' .
"Twilight spoke in a soft voice, clearly they both had massive hangovers, "Good morning." Rainbow Dash turned around, she looked shocked, but happy, Twilight assumed she also had no memory of the previous night.
"Hey, Twi," Rainbow Dash whispered back, "What happened last night?" When Rainbow Dash saw her friend in the same bed a few thoughts passed through her head, 'Is this real or another dream? I didn't do anything I'll regret did I? Did Twilight do something she'll regret?' All of these questions where interrupted by the violet unicorn.
"You spent the night," Twilight said obviously, "I think we got drunk last night, but I'm not sure." Twilight, besides her composure was also worried about several things, 'Wait, we didn't...No! But what if we did? What if i forced her into it? What if she knows about my romance novel?!' Twilight was quite concerned, she had started to become confused about her sexual preferences ever since she started reading those books, and well, Rainbow Dash was a very attractive mare.
"Do you think maybe we should get up?" Rainbow Dash had asked, "I'm hungry." she said in a loud whisper.
Rainbow Dash, surprisingly, was a great cook. She had lived on her own long enough to make a pretty decent waffle batter. "I could just-" but she was interrupted.
"No your my guest, I could never ask you to cook!" Twilight assured her, and with that they got up. Twilight went into the bathroom and brought out a bottle of painkillers. "These usually help with a hangover," She said with an experienced tone to her voice.
"Do you drink often?" Rainbow Dash had asked her, Twilight was at home a lot of the time, and she was always so composed in public.
"I-er, yeah," Twilight admitted shyly, "I sometimes have a glass here or there, but nothing serious!" she said in a voice to loud for either of them not to feel pain. It was true, Twilight had a lot of work to do during the day. And a bit of wine never hurt anypony.
"You shouldn't drink alone," Rainbow Dash said in a motherly way, "If you ever plan to do it come get me, I mean we must have had some fun last!" Rainbow Dash didn't realize what she had said until it was to late, she hoped that Twilight's mind wasn't as dirty as hers.
"Oh okay," Twilight said, "I'll call you whenever I want a good time." There, Twilight had dropped a hint, and was pretty proud of herself for it.
Rainbow Dash was blushing, it was clearly visible, because Twilight then flashed her a wink and walked downstairs.
Spike had gotten home late last night, so he was still very much asleep. So they quietly closed the door behind them, and proceeded to the cafe. 'Celestia had to pick today to shine her sun this bright.' Twilight thought her head pounding, the walk was short and the two decided that they should probably sit inside. They tried for small talk but after they placed their orders, they sat in awkward silence, at least until a certain group of male pegasi walked into the cafe.
"Could I get some tofu and chips mate?" Kicker Night was asking at the counter, he looked over and saw the two mares, "If it isn't our new drinking buddy Twilight Sparkle." he said in an unusually calm tone.
Twilight was a bit confused, on one hoof she didn't remember anything about last night, on the other hoof this colt seemed to know where they were last night. "Oh, uh, hello."
"Hey Kicker," Rainbow Dash said in a familiar way, "When did you get into town?" Kicker looked at Rainbow with a confused look, which then turned into a snickering smile.
"You two don't remember what happened last night do you?" Kicker said, the answer being obvious by the looks on their faces. "Well then, let Kicker fill you in." He spent the next ten minutes telling the two friends about their night. He stopped and laughed at the part where they messed up the drinking song. "And that's everything."
"Well thank you Kicker," Twilight had said, "Well then, we're filled in so maybe now we can enjoy the rest of the day."
There food arrived and they ate in silence, still feeling the terrible after affects of alcohol. The painkillers helped but it was still painful to be in Celestia's sun.
"Thanks for letting me stay with you Twi," Rainbow Dash spoke up, "It was storming last night and I'm no good at flying when I'm wasted."
"Not a problem," She responded, "Drop bye anytime." and the Two friends parted ways. when Twilight returned Spike was awake.
"Long night?" she kidded at the baby dragon.
"Um, what?" she asked him.
"Uh, what did the letter say? Exactly? " she asked.
Twilight walked over to the letter and opened it with her magic.
My dearest student, I'm glad to see that your love life is going well, It sounds like Rainbow Dash is perfect for you. However in the future could you not be so, detailed? I like kinky reading as much as the next pony but that sort of stuff isn't my cup of tea. Princess Celestia
"Ohmygosohmygoshmygosh." she was freaking out, not only had she had sex with Rainbow Dash she had sent a kinky letter to her teacher about it. Twilight could live with her teacher knowing, they had a better relationship than Twilight and her mother, but did Rainbow Dash know? What if she didn't know, the Twilight would have to tell her. She only hoped that she would understand. Twilight went over to her desk, she wrote out a letter for Rainbow Dash, asking her to come see Twilight.
Twilight looked out the window of her tree home, she was in luck, Derpy Hooves was delivering mail today. "Derpy!" Twilight had called out.
"Yes Twilight," the cross eyed pegasus flew up to the window. "What can I do you for?"
"Okay then, I will deliver this letter with utmost haste, I swear on the muffins I had for breakfast." Derpy said with a determined face, and before Twilight could say anything else Derpy was off!
Below Dinky and her friends were watching, "And that's why my mommy is the best mail delivery pony!" Dinky announced.

Rainbow Dash had finally gotten home, she didn't know why but she had felt really awkward about staying at Twilight's house. Maybe because Twilight was the biggest crush Rainbow Dash had ever had. She decided that she just wanted to find a fluffy cloud and go to sleep, not too hard considering that 99% of clouds were fluffy and 99% percent of the time Rainbow Dash could fall asleep without being tired. She found it, a perfect little cumulus cloud, she perched on it and began her nap.
No sooner that she had actually fallen asleep a certain mail pony came around shouting her name. "Rainbow Dash? Where are you?"
Dash knew that there was no hiding from Derpy, so she called out, "I'm right here, what is it?"
Rainbow Dash, We really need to talk about something. Get here as fast as you can!
Twilight Sparkle
Rainbow felt conflicted, on one hoof she cherished all the time she got with her crush, but on the other hoof Rainbow Dash was nervous that she would have to be alone with Twilight while not completely wasted. She decided it was best not to keep Twilight waiting, it sounded pretty urgent. It was a short flight anyway, Rainbow needed the practice after not flying for a few days. The library was ever growing in size, followed by the other houses around PonyVille. She slowed herself down as she approached the door and landed with nary a sound. She opened the large wooden door when Twilight popped out of nowhere.
Twilight had a confused look on her face, "Do you remember anything from the other night? Anything at all?" the Unicorn asked.
Rainbow Dash thought for a second, "Nope nothing at all, why?" she said in a chipper voice.
"Twi," Rainbow said, "Your gonna have to slow down, like a lot."
"Yes I know," the pegasus said.
"You don't own a couch," Rainbow added.
"Uh, uh-huh." Rainbow saw where this was going.
Rainbow Dash just stood there for a moment, her mouth wide opened.
"OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH." The pegasus said bouncing around like Pinkie Pie, "We did IT? Oh wow, this is awesome!"
Twilight was shocked at what she was hearing, "What? Your fine with this?"
Twilight saw a seductive look in Rainbow Dash's eyes, "You wanted this?"
Twilight still couldn't believe the words coming from her friends mouth, "You mean you've wanted to have sex with me this whole time?" Rainbow Dash thought she was furious, "And you didn't ask?"
"Its alright Twi, I'll leave you alon- what?" Rainbow was the confused one now.
Rainbow Dash let out a squee, "Oh, Celestia yes!" But before either of them had moved, a pegasus broke throught the window.
"Rainbow Dash!" Derpy called out. Rainbow Dash looked up.
"Twilight isn't here!" Derpy said. "It's just Derpy!" The mail pony said.'It was all a dream' she thought in a sad voice. "Twilight would never love me," she said to nopony, "I'm brash and arrogant and selfish, and she's perfect. Why do I even bother." Her tears fell through the cloud she had been sleeping on. Her self wallow was interrupted by Derpy.
"Rainbow Dash," the mail pony said, "Here's your letter." Derpy said in a sweet voice, "I'm sure she loves you." and before Rainbow Dash could respond Derpy had flown away. Was Derpy right? Rainbow Dash opened the letter, pinching herself to make sure it wasn't a dream.
Dear Rainbow Dash, I've held this in long enough, I need you to stop by the library whenever you can. It's really important that it's only you who comes so don't mention it to anypony.

Twilight heard a knock on the door, she had her suspicions as to who might disturb her at this hour. She magically opened the door, and sure enough there she was. The Rainbow colored pegasus, however she looked a little concerned with something. "Hey Dash, I need to tell you something." As the two sat down for some tea, Twilight began explaining everything she knew about what had happened on that night. When she finished Rainbow Dash looked at her.
"Anyway, that's all she wrote," Twilight said rather solemnly. When the pegasus didn't say anything she began to cry, "You must hate me." Twilight sobbed.
Rainbow Dash slapped her friend, "That's for being so hard on yourself, THIS is for being honest with me." Rainbow Dash kissed her sobbing crush, the tears somehow made the experience a little more special. Twilight just sat there, letting her friend kiss her. She had a million thoughts running through her head, but one spoke louder than the others; 'kiss back'. Twilight followed this advice, and it seemed to work out. once they broke the kiss the two friends were just looking at each other.
"I-I," Rainbow Dash was stuttering, "I love you."

The First of many Mornings
The two mares awoke in Twilight's bed, they hadn't committed any lewd acts that night, they just held each other. Rainbow Dash was the first to awaken, her forelegs wrapped around one she loved.
'I think I'll just lay here all day,' she thought to herself. After her dream yesterday, and her breakdown shortly after, Rainbow realized that maybe Twilight did love her. Twilight shuffled a bit under her friends forelegs, but she didn't wake up, or so that's what Rainbow thought.
Twilight was in fact awake, but not just physically. She felt something within her heart, a part of her that was almost always silent in comparison to her brain. Something was telling her that this was right, being with Rainbow Dash, and that nothing could've made her happier. She rolled over, "Hi."
"Hi yourself," Rainbow Dash said, she leaned into Twilight, who accepted the act of affection.
"If you like," Rainbow Dash said in a bland tone then burst out laughing, "Of course we are."
Twilight smiled at the pegasus, "Are you busy today?"
Twilight was surprised, "You have to move clouds over my house?"
"That's really convenient," Twilight said suspiciously.
Twilight smiled, "That was sweet of you."
"Maybe later," Twilight replied, "But I do have to open the library sometime today."
"Rats," Rainbow snapped.
As Twilight turned the open sign to closed, Rainbow Dash left, Twilight knew the day was going to be boring. Without her new marefriend the day would seep by like a herd of turtles. She knew that no one but Rainbow would come into the library today. Twilight was sitting behind the counter when Spike walked downstairs with a briefcase. "Do you have everything you need?" Twilight asked her assistant.
"I got my toothbrush and a couple of snacks for the ride!" Spike said happily.
"Yeah," Spike said, "But I'm going to miss you guys."
"Thanks Twilight, you're the best." Spike said as he gave her a hug.
"Okay, okay sheesh!" Spike groaned.
Twilight had to keep herself from shedding tears, now she was basically alone except for Owluiciuos, and he wasn't exactly the conversation type. It was getting to be lunchtime when she started to get hungry, she decided that she would head to town and see how Pinkie was doing.
Sugar Cube Corner was also having an incredibly slow day, or at least by Pinkie's standards. In reality it was kinda busy, Twilight had to wait in line for her desert of choice.
"Pinkie," Twilight asked, "Could I get a cup of tea?"
"Thank you," Twilight smiled as she took a drink, "Not to bad!"
"Hiya Dashie," Pinkie said, "Twilight is here too, she's sitting down right over there." Pinkie pointed to the violet unicorn.
Rainbow smiled, "Thanks Pinkie!" She flew over towards Twilight.
"I'm done for today and was wondering if you wanted to go see a show with me tonight?" Rainbow asked with a smile.
"Well more of a concert, its to Vinyl Scratches show." She said with a laugh.
"Maybe we could hang out afterwards too," She whispered before laughing and flying away, "See you at seven!"
Rainbow Dash was at her home, getting ready for her night out, she had the concert tickets along with a scarf that Rarity had given her for her birthday. She wasn't going out very fancy but she wanted to look nice for Twilight. She then realized the extremity of the fact that she was dating Twilight. The same Twilight who had turned her onto books, the same Twilight who had saved her from Discord's lies. "She is pretty awesome." Rainbow Dash said to herself.
