Foals playfully chased eachother, mares exchanged gossip with their friends, while others were simply going about their daily routine. One such pony was a yellow unicorn stallion with a bluish mane, a shooting star for a cutie mark, and a saddlebag on his back. Comet tail was his name. He stopped in front of the tree house that served as the Ponyville library, but it was more than just a library. It also served as the home of its librarian, Twilight sparkle. "Hope shes home." Thought Comet tail. Comet tail walked up to the front door and knocked on it. "Twi its me." Said Comet Tail. A few seconds later the door opened and Twilight herself was standing in the doorway. "Comet." Began Twilight. "I didn't expect to see you until later today." "May I come in?" Comet Tail asked. Twilight nodded and Comet stepped inside. "So what brings you here?" Asked Twilight. Comet tail reached into his saddlebag and took a scroll out of it. "I got this about an hour ago." Twilight grabbed the scroll with magic and unraveled it. Comet, Me and your father have been talking, we would like you to come up to Canterlot for a little bit to visit. Your father keeps asking me "When is the last time Comet came by?". He misses you alot. We hope you visit soon. Lots of love, Mom. P.S. If you can, bring this Twilight that you talk about in your letters. I'd love to meet her. Twilight set the scroll on a nearby table. "Im going up for a week." Said Comet Tail. Comet picked up the scroll and put it back in his saddlebag. "Would you like to come with me?" Twilight thought it over for a moment. "A week in Canterlot." Thought Twilight. "Come to think of it, I havent seen mom and dad since the wedding." Twilight smiled. "Sure thing." Said Twilight. "Maybe I'll visit my parents while I'm up there too." Comet tail smiled back. "Great. I need to help Caramel with something now, but I can come by later and we can discuss it then." "Sounds good to me." Said Twilight. Comet Tail gave Twilight a quick kiss on the lips. "Love you Twi." "Love you too." Comet tail stepped out of the library. "I should send mom and Dad a letter." Thought Twilight. Just as Twilight was about to walk to her desk, an idea entered her mind. "Or maybe I can surprise them!" Twilight giggled to herself. "This is going to be great!" Five days had passed, today was the day the two would head to Canterlot. Comet Sail and Twilight's assistant, Spike was loading their combined luggage into the train while Twilight stood outside with her five friends. "I still can't believe your going to be gone for a whole week." Said Rainbow dash. "A week in Canterlot sounds so romantic." Said Rarity. "You are a lucky mare." Twilight blushed lightly. "Rarity its not like that." Said Twilight. "We're going to see our families, its not some kind of a romantic getaway." "Oh! Oh! Maybe it is a romantic getaway but you don't want us to know!" Said Pinkie Pie. "Is it!? Huh!? Huh!? Is-" Applejack covered Pinkie's mouth with her hoof. "Ah talked with Caramel before ah got here, and according to him Comet is pretty excited bout this trip." Said Applejack. "He is." Said Twilight. "He hasn't seen his parents in awhile " "I hope the trip there is alright." Said Fluttershy. "ALL ABOARD THE EXPRESS TRAIN TO CANTERLOT!!!!" Shouted a voice. "Come on Twi!" Called Spike. "I got to go girls." Said Twilight. "See you in a week!" Twilight got into the train and took her seat next to Comet Tail. "Bye!" Said Rarity. "Have a good time!" Shouted Applejack. "Bring back a souvenir!!!!" Yelled Pinkie pie. The train began to depart from the Station, by the end of the day the two would by at Canterlot. The train began to slow as it approached its destination. Twilight stuck her head out the window to look at the nearing Canterlot train station. "Canterlot..." Twilight pulled her head back into the train. "I cant wait to see my favorite doughnut shop!" Said Spike. "Don't get too excited." Said Comet Tail. "We have a bunch of things to do before we go there." The train stopped at the station. The trio grabbed their luggage and exited the train. "So how long until we reach the doughnut shop?" Asked Spike "Well first we have to check in to the hotel." Began Twilight. "Then we were going to surprise my parents." "And after that we need to head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner with my parents." Added Comet tail. Spike groaned with impatience. "We can work something out later Spike." Said Twilight. "But right now we need to get checked in." Spike sighed. "I'll go get the Taxi." Spike set his luggage on the ground and scampered off to find a Taxi. Twilight turned to face Comet Tail. "Do you think I should have told my parents I was Coming?" Asked Twilight. "They could be entertaining guests and-" "Don't worry Twi." Said Comet Tail "Im sure they will be more than happy to see you." Twilight smiled at him. "Thanks Comet." Twilight gave him a quick peck on the cheek, neither of them noticing two figures watching them. "Is that who I think it is?" Asked the first figure. "It is." Replied the second. "And look who he's with." The figure smiled "This is perfect." The second figure smiled as well. "Lets get put of here before they see us." The two figures slip away unnoticed. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Twilight and Comet Tail trotted down a hallway as Spike followed behind, wheeling a luggage rack with their belongings inside. "Still don't understand why we Can't just stay at the Castle." Said Spike. Twilight turned her head to face the baby dragon. "Snd let the royal guard know I'm coming?" Said Twilight. "They would tell Mom and Dad in a heartbeat." They stopped in front of a door labeled suite #4. "This is our room." Said Comet tail. Comet tail levitated his room key into its hole and unlocked the door. He opened the door and stepped inside. "You have got to see this." Twilight and Spike stepped into the room. Their eyes widened with surprise. "Woah." They both said simultaneously. The Suite was astonishing. The wooden panel floors complimented the Grey walls. They cpuld see a fireplace set up in the middle of the room. A set of spiraling stairs lead to a second floor, and Twilight noticed a kitchen area set up in the corner. There was a glass door on the other end of the room. "This is better than the travel guide said it would be." Said Twilight. Comet tail approached the glass door and opened it, peering inside. "This Suite is full of surprises." Said Comet tail. "Spike bring the luggage in." Said Twilight. "I need to see this." Twilight walked over to Comet Tail and they both stepped through the door. They were standing on a large wooden patio that was overlooking Canterlot. "I can see the castle." Said Twilight. "I can see a hot tub." Added Comet tail. Twilight looked to her right. There was a hot tub set up next to a stocked minibar. "This is better than the Castle." Said Twilight. "This hot tub looks pretty nice." Said Comet tail. "Maybe later we could hop in." Twilight smiled slyly. "Sounds relaxing." Said Twilight. They exchanged a ten second kiss. "This is going to a a great week." Said Comet Tail. "We should probably get settled into our rooms." Said Twilight. "Good idea." Replied Comet. They walked back into the Suite, hooves held together. After getting settled in and finding a taxi, the trio reached The home of Twilight's parents. Twilight looked at the house while Comet Tail paid the taxi driver. "Wonder how they will react to seeing me?" Thought Twilight. The taxi drove away and Comet tail walked up to Twilight. "Lets pay them a visit." Said Comet tail. They approached the house while Spike followed behind. They reached the front door. "Here goes nothing." Said Twilight. Twilight knocked on the door with her hoof. Soon after she heard hoofsteps. "I swear if its another filly scout selling cookies....." She heard a voice mumble. Slowly the door opened and a blue unicorn stallion stood in the doorway, Twilight's father Nightlight. "May I-" His eyes widened upon seeing his daughter. "Hey dad." "Twilight?" He pulled Twilight into a hug. "Its been awhile." Said Nightlight. "I missed you too dad." They broke the hug and Nightlight looked at Comet tail. "You seem familiar...." Said Nightlight. "Comet tail. I asked you to give Twilight the cupcake and the letter awhile back." "Ah yes, that was you." Twilight walked up next to Comet tail. "What about me?" Asked Spike. Nightlight chuckled. "Nice to see you too Spike." "Can we come in?" Asked Twilight. "Of course you can." The three stepped inside as Nightlight closed the door behind them. "Today is just full of surprises isn't it." Said Nightlight. "What do you mean?" Asked Comet tail. "I'll tell you in a bit." Replied Nightlight. "Twilight, your mother will be so happy to see you." They walked down a hallway. "Shes entertaining some guests." Said Nightlight. Twilight was starting to feel doubt. "Oh... Did I come at a bad time?" Nightlight chuckled and gave his daughter a smile. "Believe me, you came at just the right time." Nightlight led them into a living room area. Twilight's mother, Velvet was standing while talking to somepony sitting on a sofa facing away from them. "Honey look who came to visit." Said Nightlight. Velvet looked up and ghasped. "Twilight!" Velvet ran over and gave her daughter a big hug, which Twilight gladly returned. "You have no idea how much I missed you." Said Velvet. "I missed you too mom." Said Twilight. They broke their hug. "We just keep getting visitors, don't we Nightlight?" "Who else is here?" Asked Spike. A pony got up from the sofa and turned to face the group. Twilight gasped at who it was. "Shining!?" The pony was none other than Shining Armor, Twilight's older brother. "Twiley!" Twilight ran over and gave her brother a hug. While they were doing that, Velvet turned to look at Comet Tail. "You must be Twilight's coltfriend, the one she talks about in her letters." Said Velvet. "Thats me." Said Comet tail. Twilight ended her hug. "I had no idea you would be here!" Said Twilight. "Well I didn't come alone." Twilight turned to look at the sofa. A familiar pink alicorn sat on it, smiling at her. "Cadence!" Cadence slowly got up. "Twilight, this is a surprise." They began to great each other the way they always do. "Sunshine! sunshine! Ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" They both started laughing. Comet tail looked at them with a smile on his face. "Its like you have a mini family reunion here." Said Comet tail. A few minutes later all six ponies and spike were sitting in the living room. "Your brother and Cadence came this morning." Said Velvet. "Took us by surprise." "It was Shining's idea." Said Cadence. "But we had no Idea you would be here too." "Great minds think alike." Said Shining armor. Nightlight looked at Twilight. "So how long are you going to be in Canter lot?" Asked Nightlight. "We were going to stay the week." Said Twilight. "Then your going to be around for the benefit." Said Velvet. Spike raised an eyebrow. "Benefit?" Asked Spike. "Twilight's old classmate Twinkleshine is putting together a benefit party for charity in a few days." Said Nightlight. "Me and your mother are invited and the rest of you are definitely welcome to attend as well." "I intend to donate to the cause." Said Cadence. "Sounds like fun." Said Comet tail. "I think we could go." Said Twilight. "Thats good to hear." Said Velvet. Comet tail looked at the clock. "Twi we should get back to the hotel, we have to get ready for dinner at my parent's house." Said Comet tail. "Your right." Said Twilight. Twilight turned to face her parents. "Sorry I have to cut this short." Said Twilight. "We understand." Said Velvet. "But stop by tomorrow for dinner." "Sure thing." Said Comet tail. The two unicorns got up. "Come on Spike." Said Twilight. Spike got up. "See you tomorrow." Said Twilight. The three made their way to the door. Comet tail stood in his hotel room and looked himself over in the mirror. "Seems good enough." Said Comet tail. Comet tail walked out of his room and went downstairs. Spike was sitting on the couch while Twilight stood in front of him. "Do I have to go?" Asked Spike. "You don't actually." Said Twilight. "What?" Twilight levitated out a small bag of bits. "You can go to the Doughnut shop, just be back before we are." Said Twilight. Spike took the bits and grinned. "I'll save some for you guys." Spike scampered out the door. "He seems excited." Said Comet tail. "He likes doughnuts." Comet tail took her hoof in his. "Better not keep my parents waiting." Said Comet tail. He gave Twilight a kiss on the cheek. "Then lets go." They made their way towards the door. Elsewhere two ponies sat in a dark room, forming a plan. "So we have a plan then?" Asked the first pony. "We do." Replied the second. "Those two wont know what hit them." The first pony gave the second pony a quick kiss. "Thats why I love you." The second pony blushed. "Lets get ready, we got to get our plan into motion." They both got up and laughed. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 Twilight and Comet approached a large house. "This is the place." Said Comet tail. "My old home." "Lets go meet your parents then." Said Twilight. Comet tail knocked on the front door. "Coming!" Said a feminine voice. The door opened and a unicorn mare with a light blue coat, a bluish mane, glasses, and a green star for a cutie mark stood in the doorway. "Comet." Said the Mare. "Its been so long." "Too long mom." Said Comet tail. Comet tail gave his mother a quick hug. After they broke the hug, Comet Tail's mother turned to look at Twilight. "You must be Twilight." The mare extended her hoof towards Twilight. "I'm Evening Star, Star for short." Twilight shook her hoof. "Its a pleasure to meet you." Said Twilight. Star gestured towards the front door. "Please come in." The three unicorns stepped into the house as Star closed the door behind them. "Wheres dad?" Asked Comet Tail. "He's upstairs making adjustments to his Telescope." Replied Star. Star walked towards a nearby staircase. "Honey! Comet just arrived!" Yelled Star. Moments later the sound of hoof steps was heard heading down the stairs. "Here he comes." Said Star. Twilight and Comet Tail looked at the staircase. A yellow unicorn stallion with an orange mane, a mustache, and a sextant with a star behind it for a cutie mark walked down the stairs towards them. "Comet!" Said the Stallion. The stallion opened his front hooves wide. "Give your father a hug!" Comet tail hugged his father. "Geez, last time I saw you was about....... Too long." Said the Stallion. "Nice to see you too dad." Said Comet tail. They ended their hug. "Nova, this is Twilight." Said Star, gesturing to Twilight. "The mare Comet told us about in his letters." Nova chuckled to himself. "So your the lucky mare." Twilight blushed lightly. "Come on." Said Star. "I got dinner waiting." Nova led Comet and Twilight down the hallway. The four unicorns sat at the dinner table, making small talk while eatting. "So your a librarian Twilight?" Asked Star. "Yes I am." Replied Twilight. "I run the library in Ponyville, but I'm sure Comet mentioned that in his letters." Comet tail levitated a fork-full of salad into his mouth. "Must be a tough job running that library by yourself." Said Nova. "Well I have my assistant Spike to help me." Said Twilight. "That baby mutant iguana who burnt Comet's slippers?" Asked Nova. Comet tail swallowed and cleared his throat. "He's a dragon dad." Said Comet Tail. "And that was an accident. I didn't know he had sneezing powder." "Right..... Dragon." Twilight raised an eyebrow. Comet tail moved his head closer to Twilight to whisper something to her. "Sorry, my dad does not like dragons that much." Twilight nodded and took and ate some of her salad. "So Comet." Began Star. "What about you? Do you have any friends in Ponyville, because you never mention any in your letters." "Actually I do." Said Comet Tail. "Im friends with a couple stallions there. We usually go bowling or to a pub every week." Twilight took a sip of water. "He actually met his best friend Caramel from my friend Applejack." Said Twilight. "Thats nice." Said Star. Nova finished his salad. "So Twilight, your parents live in Canterlot as well?" "Their entire lives." Replied Twilight. "Dad runs a business and Mom teaches magic lessons." "Ain't that something." Said Star. "I recently got my teaching degree. I just got a job teaching astronomy to mentally challenged unicorns." "So do you have any big plans this week?" Asked Nova. "We are going to a charity in a few days." Replied Comet Tail. "Well don't forget to come by a couple times while your both up here." Said Star. Twilight and Comet Tail walked down the dark sidewalk. The only sources of light were the street lamps and the full moon. "I like your parents." Said Twilight. "They seem pretty intelligent." Comet Tail smiled. "Im glad to hear that." Said Comet Tail. The couple bumped into a pair of ponies. "Oh sorry." The two ponies stood with surprise in their eyes. "Comet?" Comet Tail looked at the two ponies. The first was a grey pegasus stallion with a light grey sun for a cutie mark. The other was a pink unicorn mare with sparkles for a cutie mark. Comet Tail realized who they were. "You two!" Said Comet Tail in an angry tone. Twilight raised an eyebrow.. "Comet who are they?" asked Twilight. Comet tail stepped in front of Twilight. "Thats Grey Sky and Mystic Shine." Began Comet tail. "The two ponies who bullied you." Twilight gasped in surprise. "Your the two jerks who took Smarty pants!" Yelled Twilight. Grey Sky took a step forwards. "That was a long time ago Twilight." Said Grey Sky. "Believe me when I say that we are sorry." Mystic Shine stepped forwards to join Grey Sky. "It was wrong of us to pick on you...." Twilight retained her anger, but Comet Tail was beginning to calming down. "How can we know your telling the truth!?" Said Twilight. Grey Sky sighed. "Its a little late out for an explanation." Said Grey Sky. Mystic Shine took out a small folded up piece of paper using magic. "We're having brunch tomorrow." Said Mystic Shine. "You are more than welcome to join us. And heres our address." Comet tail took the paper and put it away. "We'll think it over." Said Comet Tail. Twilight was a little taken back by Comet Tail's response. "We will be at the Blue Bronco cafe at eleven o'clock." Said Grey Sky "I hope you accept our offer." The two turned to leave. "Nice seeing you two again." They walked down the sidewalk, away from the two unicorns. "Are you actually giving those two a chance?" Asked Twilight. Comet Tail nodded. "I am. Lets hear them out first." Twilight groaned. "Those two were bullying me awhile before you met them." Said Twilight. "Why should I give them another chance?" Comet Tail sighed. "You gave me a chance." Twilight calmed down. "I.... Well........ Its different." "Lets go to brunch with them tomorrow." Said Comet Tail. "If they still seem like the same two ponies who tormented you, then we won't talk to them again." Comet Tail gave Twilight a quick kiss on the lips. "Alright........ But if they didn't change, I never want to see them again." Comet Tail smiled. "Atta girl." Said Comet Tail. "Now lets get back to the hotel and see if we can get any hot tub time in before bed." Twilight looked at Comet Tail with a playful grin. "Well lets go then." They resumed their walking. They walked into the hotel room to find a box of doughnuts on the kitchen counter. "Spikes back." Said Twilight. Twilight walked over to the box of doughnuts and saw Spike passed out on the couch, sprinkles and doughnut crumbs on his face. "Must have been pretty tired." Muttered Twilight. Twilight levitated the sleeping dragon onto her back. "Start up the hot tub Comet, Im going to get Spike into his room." Comet tail nodded and watched Twilight walk up the stairs. "Hope the hot tub works." Thought Comet Tail. Comet tail trotted towards the patio. Grey Sky and Mystic Shine stepped into their penthouse. "Comet actually bought it!" Said Grey Sky. Mystic Shine giggled. "We just need to get Twilight to buy it." Said Mystic Shine. "We just have to be extra convincing tomorrow." Said Grey Sky. Grey fluttered onto the couch. "Then they can get whats coming to them." Mystic Shine smirked. "Big day ahead of us tomorrow." Said Mystic Shine. "Lets get some rest." Author's Note Not the best chapter, but it will do. "Morning?" She got out of the bed and stepped out of the room "Comet must be up by now." Thought Twilight. Twilight walked down the stairs and saw Comet Tail sitting on the couch, a half eaten doughnut floating next to him. He noticed her walking down the stairs. "Morning Twi." "Morning." Comet Tail took a bite of his doughnut. "Spikes in the bathroom, he should be done shortly." Twilight sat down next to Comet on the couch. "What time is it?" Asked Twilight. Comet Tail looked up at the clock. "Nine thirty." Replied Comet Tail. "We got an hour and thirty minutes before brunch." Twilight yawned. "We should drop Spike off at my parent's place before we go there." Said Twilight. "Good idea." Said Comet Tail. A door nearby opened and spike stepped out with a towel wrapped around him. "Morning Twilight." Said Spike. "Good morning." Twilight got off the couch and walked into the bathroom. A taxi pulled up to a cafe. Twilight and Comet Tail stepped out of it. "I'll pay this time." Said Twilight. Twilight took out a few bits and paid the taxi colt. "Thanks." Said Twilight. The taxi sped away as the couple looked at the cafe. "Lets find them." Said Comet Tail. They stepped into the cafe. The inside had white tile floor, blue walls, and several tables that had ponies seated at them. "You ever eat here before?" Asked Comet Tail. "Once with my brother." Said Twilight. "But that was before I got my cutie mark." "Twilight, Comet. Over here!" Called a voice. They looked towards the source of the voice. It was Grey Sky. Him and Mystic Shine were sitting at a table waving at them. "There they are." Said Twilight. The two unicorns took seats at the table with them. "Glad you two could make it." Said Mystic Shine. Twilight put on a fake smile. "Wouldn't miss it for the world." Comet Tail looked at Grey Sky. "So how have things been with you two the past few years?" Asked Comet Tail. "Well after the teacher dragged us away after that incident with the book, we got put into a different class." Said Grey Sky. "Learned our lesson after that." Mystic Shine looked at Twilight. "Bullying you was wrong." Said Mystic Shine. A waiter came by with four glasses of lemonade. "Hope you don't mind but we ordered your drinks for you." Said Mystic Shine. "But then again who doesn't like lemonade?" Mystic Shine levitated the glasses onto the table and took a sip from hers. The waiter stepped away. "Its fine." Said Comet tail. Comet tail took a sip of his lemonade. "Later on we started dating and graduated from school." Said Grey Sky. He took Mystic Shine's hoof into his own. "Thats interesting." Said Comet Tail. Twilight looked around the room, trying to avoid the conversation. Mystic shine looked at Twilight. "Twilight." She began. "You have been awfully quiet." Twilight turned her attention back to Mystic Shine. "I know that its going to take alot for you to forgive us, but we hope this is a good start." Said Grey Sky. He took out a small box from under the table and set it in front of Twilight. "Open it up." Twilight sighed and began to open the box. Inside was a silver necklace with a large sapphire in it. "This looks expensive." Said Comet Tail. "It was a gift from a friend." Said Mystic Shine. "But It doesn't look that good on me, so its all yours." "Thanks....." Said Twilight. Grey Sky took a sip of his lemonade. "I know we might never be able to fully make up for all those years of torture we brought upon you." Said Grey Sky. "If I could go back and change what we did, I would." "We just hope that we are getting on good terms with you Twilight." Said Mystic Shine. Twilight looked at her former bullies. "Maybe..... Maybe they have changed." Thought Twilight. Twilight smiled. "Your getting there." Grey Sky and Mystic Shine both smiled back. "Thank you Twilight." Said Grey Sky. The four ponies started to talk the way old friends would talk to eachother. Twilight stepped into the suite with Spike on her back and Comet Tail following her. "That wasn't so bad." Said Twilight. "So your giving them a second chance then?" Asked Comet Tail. Twilight smiled. "Im willing to give them another chance." Replied Twilight. "They certainly want one." Spike hopped off of Twilight's back. "If you two need me, I'm going to be using that hot tub." Said Spike. Spike walked towards the glass door and stepped went into the patio area. "We got quite a bit of time before we should head over to my parent's for dinner." Said Twilight. Twilight took out the necklace Grey Sky gave to her, "Im going to put this in my room." Said Twilight. "Then I'm going to pay my friend Jade a visit." Twilight trotted up the stairs, leaving Comet Tail by himself. "Guess its going to be me for a little bit." Thought Comet Tail. Comet tail looked at the cupboard in the kitchen area. "Never did find out what was in there." Comet Tail opened the cupboard and noticed a 200 piece puzzle box inside. "Odd place to put a puzzle." Thought Comet Tail. Comet Tail picked the box up with magic and walked over to a nearby coffee table. Comet tail placed the final piece of the puzzle into its spot. "Thats done." Twilight walked in through the entrance. "Im back." Comet Tail got up and smiled. "How was it?" "Good." Twilight looked at the clock. "We got an hour before we head down for dinner." Said Twilight. "I think we should use it to get ready." Comet Tail nodded in agreement. "If you need a shower or anything, you can go in first." Said Comet Tail. "I can wait." "Thanks." Said Twilight. "Could you get spike ready?" "Of course." Said Comet tail. Twilight gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before trotting into the bathroom. Back at the Penthouse of Grey Sky and Mystic Shine, the pair chuckled at their success. "She's on the same page as Comet Tail." Said Grey Sly."She thinks we changed!" "Just wait until that necklace starts working." Said Mystic Shine. Mystic Shine chuckled. "They don't even expect it." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 About one hour later the three arrived at the Sparkle residence. They socialized for a little bit before the mares began dinner and the stallions (and spike) decided to toss a football around in the backyard. Twilight, Velvet, and Cadence stood in the kitchen, making dinner while exchanging stories. "So then the royal chef trips and lands face first into the ambassador's mane." Said Cadence. "It took two barbers and the gardener to get his braces out of her mane." Twilight chuckled. "Must be nice having a chef to cook for you." Said Velvet. "Well it's multiple chefs actually." Said Cadence. "But it is pretty nice." Twilight levitated a knife off the counter and started chopping a carrot. "What about you Twilight?" Asked Velvet. "Anything interesting happen in Ponyville?" "Well I had a magic duel a few months back, but I already sent you a letter about it." Replied Twilight. "The one with that Trixie mare?" Asked Velvet. Twilight nodded. "If it were up to me I would have banished her to an island in the middle of the ocean for putting Ponyville into a bubble." Said Velvet. Twilight set her knife down and put the carrot pieces into a pot on the stove. "Wonder how Shining is doing with the others?" Asked Cadence. The three unicorn males tossed around a football, catching it with magic and throwing it at the stallion next to them. Spike was lying in a lawn chair, taking a nap. "So how is prince of the Crystal empire working for you?" Asked Nightlight. He tossed the ball and Shining caught it. "Pretty good." Said Shining Armor. "I don't have to wake up at six to train recruits, i have my own personal gym." Shining tossed the football at Comet Tail, he caught it with magic. "And I can see Cadence whenever I want." "Sounds like you have it good." Said Comet Tail. Comet tail tossed the ball at Nightlight. "Speaking of lives." Began Nightlight. Nightlight caught the ball. "When can I expect to see some grandkids?" Nightlight tossed the ball. "Wha......" Shining armor froze up. He didn't even react to the football bouncing off the side of his head. "Its a little early for me to be thinking about foals." Said Shining Armor. "He has a point." Added Comet Tail. "He hasn't even been married a year yet." Nightlight chuckled. "You come from a line of early fathers." Said Nightlight. "Your mother was expecting you not even seven months after we got married." Shining armor decided to change the subject. "So Comet, how are things with Twilight?" "Good." Replied Comet Tail. "Were getting along just fine." "Thats good." Said Shining Armor. "Finish up out there guys!" Called Velvet. "Dinner is almost ready!" Spike woke up from his nap. "Dinner already?" Spike ran inside. "Well, better get ready for dinner." Said Nightlight. The three unicorns stepped inside. Everypony was sitting at the dinner table, eating and talking. "Your cooking is great Mrs. Sparkle." Said Comet Tail, levitating a corn cob. "Cadence was the one who made the corn." Said Velvet. "You should be telling that to her." "Im flattered." Said Cadence. "Just remembered something." Said Nightlight. "The benefit is in two days. Do you have proper attire for it?" Twilight's eyes widened slightly. "I don't." Said Twilight. "Me either." Added Comet Tail. "Your more than welcome to borrow one of my old tuxedos." Said Shining Armor. "Anything in yellow?" Asked Comet tail. Shining Armor took a sip of water. "Maybe, I haven't checked in awhile." Spike chuckled. "Good thing I have something lying around here." Said Spike. "I might have an old dress in the castle you could use Twilight." Said Cadence. Cadence levitated a fork full of salad salad into her mouth. "Thanks for the offer." Said Twilight. "But I have something else in mind." After dinner Comet Tail, Twilight, and Spike went back to the suite. Comet tail sat on the couch while Twilight wrote a something on a piece of paper. "So what are you writing?" Asked Comet Tail. "A letter to Rarity." Said Twilight. "I need her to send something." "Right." Said Comet Tail. "So whats the plan for tomorrow?" "Well since we spent time with my parents today that we would do something with yours tomorrow." "We could go stargazing with them." Said Comet Tail. "We just need to let them know ahead of time." "Sounds like a plan to me." Said Twilight. "I also ran into Mystic Shine while I went to see Jade, she wanted to know if we were interested in going to their penthouse tomorrow afternoon." "Sure." Said Comet Tail. Twilight finished writing the letter and picked it up with magic. "Im going to see if I can find an express courier to get this out." Said Twilight. Twilight stepped out of the suite with her letter. "I should also see Shining Armor's old tuxedos some time tomorrow." Thought Comet Tail. Comet Tail yawned loudly. "Guess im more tired......than I .......thou...." Comet Tail awoke to the sight of Twilight looking down at him. "We need to get ready." Said Twilight. "Ready for what?" Asked Comet Tail. Twilight sighed. "The penthouse. You slept in." Comet Tail's eyes shot wide open. "Shoot I forgot!" Comet tail got off the couch and looked around frantically. "How long did I-" "Calm down." Said Twilight. "You have time to get ready." "What about breakfast?" Asked Comet Tail. Twilight pointed at the kitchen area. A muffin and an apple was on the counter. "Im going to brush my teeth first." Said Comet Tail. Comet Tail walked upstairs as Spike walked down and approached Twilight. "What am I supposed to do there?" Asked Spike. "Im sure they have something at the penthouse that you can kill time with." Said Twilight. "Couldn't I stay with Shining or your dad?" "Not today." Said Twilight. "Dad and Shining are doing some father-son bonding." Spike groaned. "They better have a pool table." Grumbled Spike. Comet Tail walked down the stairs. "Ready." "Lets go then." Said Twilight. The three walked out of the Suite. The three approached a penthouse. "Here it is." Said Twilight. "I'll knock." Said Comet Tail. Comet Tail knocked on the door. "One second!" Called a voice. The door opened and Grey sky stood on the other side. "Welcome, come inside." The three stepped inside. Grey bent down to Spike's eye level. "And you must be Spike." Spike yawned. "Yep." Grey raised an eyebrow. "You don't sound like your happy." Said Grey skies. Comet Tail and Twilight looked around the room. The floors were wood, the walls were painted white and decorated with pictures and paintings. "Wonder how much this place cost." Thought Comet Tail. Twilight noticed Mystic Shine approach from a nearby hallway. "So glad you could make it." Said Mystic Shine. Mystic Shine looked at Spike. "Do you like games?" Asked Mystic Shine. "Depends." "Grey, why don't you take Comet and Spike over to the game room." Said Mystic Shine. Spike immediately perked up. "Game room?" Grey sky chuckled. "Well when you have as much money as we do, you can afford a few luxuries." Said Grey. "Come on then, lets go." Grey Sky led the two down a hallway. "Guess that just leaves us." Said Twilight. Mystic shine smirked. "Guess it does....." The game room was a medium sized room filled with several games inside. Spike was playing an arcade game while Grey and Comet played a game of pool. Grey was holding his piil cue in his wings while Comet held his with magic. "I haven't played this game in years." Said Comet Tail. "Well when you have money kicking around you can afford these luxuries." Said Grey. Grey lined up a shot and hit the cue ball, sending it around the table. "Drat." Comet Tail prepared his shot. "So hows Ponyville?" Asked Grey. "You got any friends there?" "A few." Replied Comet Tail. Comet tail took his shot, knocking a ball into a hole. "What are they like?" Comet Tail lined up his next shot. "There my friend Caramel. He's a good pony." Comet Tail hit the cue ball into the corner pocket. "Scratch." Said Grey. "Shame." Grey took the ball out of the hole, set it on the table and got ready to take his shot. "Go on." Said Grey. "Then theres my friend Thunderlane from the weather team." Continued Comet Tail. "Also my friend Pokey, he's a Canterlot pony." Grey hit a ball into a side pocket. "Ya dont say." While they played, Twilight and Mystic Shine sat in the living room, talking. "So then my friend Rarity tries to take the thing off, but she forgot about the paint." Said Twilight. "It took her three days to get the stains out." Mystic Shine chuckled. "Your friends sound like interesting ponies." "They are." Said Twilight. Mystic Shine smiled. "So hows your relationship with Comet?" Asked Mystic Shine. Twilight blushed slightly. "Its pretty good." Said Twilight. "We had a rocky start, but it all worked out in the end." Mystic shine smiled. "Thats good to hear." The game was tied. The winner was whoever sunk the 8-ball first. "Your move." Said Grey. Comet Lined up his shot and hit the Cue ball. The ball rolled around the table but failed to hit the 8-ball. "Aw...." Grey prepared his shot. "The key is hitting the right spot." Said Grey. He hit the cue ball, sending it at the cue ball and knocking it into the corner pocket. "Then it all falls into place." Comet Tail set his cue on a nearby rack. "Well played." Said Comet Tail. Grey looked up at a wall clock. "Horseapples." Muttered Grey. "Im afraid I must cut our gathering short. I forgot about some reservations I had." Spike looked away from his game and frowned. "Awww..... Already?" Groaned Spike. "Don't worry Spike." Said Grey. "Next time your up you can play longer." Grey hung his cue on the rack and led the other two males out of the room. The three stepped into the living room. "Mystic we have some reservations I forgot about." Said Grey. "Oh, I totally forgot." Said Mystic Shine. She turned to face Twilight. "Im sorry, but we have to go." "Its alright." Said Twilight. The two mares got up. "Thanks for having us." Said Comet Tail. "No." Said Grey with a smile. "Thank you for Coming." Comet Tail stood in a bedroom, looking through a closet. Shining Armor sat on the bed behind him. "See anything?" Asked Shining Armor. Comet Tail browsed through the Closet's clothes. "Not yet." Replied Comet Tail. Comet Tail noticed a blue article of clothing hanging up. "Hm?" Comet Tail moved some items to get a better view of the blue object. It was a Blue formal suit with a white trim. Comet Tail floated it out of the closet with magic and set it on the bed. "This looks nice." Said Comet Tail. Shining Armor smiled. "I wore than tux to a royal ball that Cadence and I attended." Said Shining Armor. "It should fit you." Comet Tail smiled and began to fold the tux, much to Shining Armor's confusion. "Your not supposed to fold those." Said Shining Armor. "I know a spell to get fold marks out." Said Comet Tail. "Don't worry." Comet Tail set the folded tux into his saddlebag. "You interested in staying for dinner?" Asked Shining Armor. "No thanks." Replied Comet Tail. "Me and Twi are heading to my folk's place for stargazing." Comet Tail slipped the saddlebag onto his back and stepped put of the room. Meanwhile, Mystic Shine and Grey Skies sat on their couch, talking to each other. "We learned enough about them today." Said Grey "Everything is in motion." Said Mystic Shine. "By midnight tomorrow, those two won't be such a happy couple." The both laughed. "And we will have the last laugh....... When the three returned from Stargazing with Comet's parents, there was a large cardboard box in front of their suite door. "Huh?" muttered Spike. "Good its here." Said Twilight. Twilight bent down to open the box as Comet Tail watched. "What is it?" Asked Comet Tail. "I had Rarity send up a dress for the charity tomorrow." Replied Twilight. She levitated a familiar blue dress from out of the box. "Your gala dress?" Asked Spike. Twilight nodded in response. "Its getting late." Said Twilight. She set her dress back in the box and picked it up with magic. "We got a big night ahead of us tomorrow." The three stepped inside the suite.
