//-------------------------------------------------------// Queen Chrysalis' Revenge -by Lil_Miss_Rarity- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// I Found You... //-------------------------------------------------------// I Found You... Twilight was in the library, as usual, trying to find a book. Of course, she could not do it without the help of her friend and number 1 assistant, Spike, who was out at the moment. Knowing she would never find the book without Spike's help, she thought of finding a random book to pass the time. For once, she didn't find anything interesting to read, until she felt something behind a row of books. It was another book, collecting dust for  who knows how long. It had no cover. It was the color black. Twilight didn't remember purchasing the book. Curious, she opened the book. The first page contained letters she couldn't read. It appeared to be ancient text from the Pre Pony Era. Intrigued, she flipped to the next page. It was blank. Twilight was confused. She flipped through the entier book. Not one word except for on the first page. Thinking it was just an old notebook of some sort, Twilight put it away. But as she did, she could‘ve sworn that the text glowed green. She just shook it off and went to bed. It was already getting dark out, and if Spike wasn’t coming back tonight, he would be back tomorrow morning. As she woke up, the Sun was beating down on her face. The heat from the rays warmed her fur that wasn’t covered by her blanket. She got up from her bed and checked Spike’s basket, where he usually slept. But today, he wasn’t. He hadn’t come back yet. As she got downstairs, she had a weird feeling. That kind of feeling of nervousness, that something’s wrong. She didn’t know why, but she had a sudden urge to look at the notebook again. She grabbed it out of the spot she last left it with her horn. It looked normal, until she opened to the second page. The second page now had letters in it, the same ancient text from the first page. She flipped through the rest of the pages. Nothing. Where did the text come from? She didn’t write it in. She began to hear noises. Some were natural, such as some of the branches and wood cracking from the heat. Others weren’t as easy to explain. One noise even sounded like talking. At this point, Twilight was beginning to get scared. But maybe she was just hearing things. To get her mind off of what she’s hearing, she decided to go shopping. She needed more food anyway. Even with the shopping trip, the memory of the noises was burned into her mind. All the happy ponies were walking by, not having a care in the world. After a brief shopping trip, Twilight had only one thing left to get apples. With the need to see a familiar and friendly face, she visited Sweet Apple Acres. After entering the farmland, she was quickly greeted by her friend, Applejack, and her little sister, Applebloom. “Howdy there, Twilight! Fancy seein’ you here!” “Hi, Applejack. I need some apples for dinner later. Can I have some?” “Sure! Fer you, Twi, only 5 bits!” Most of the time, apples there costed 15 bits. By her discount, that’s a lot. Twilight paid the money and left. She stood outside her house. The Library. She was almost afraid to open the door. She slowly opened it after gathering her wits. The door made a loud creaking noise. It was unusually dark in her home. As soon as she closed the door, she could hear footsteps. Twilight recognized the noise. "Spike?" Silence. Twilight was very scared, and it only got worse after that. Twilight could barely see a figure in the shadows. It was small. Definitely not a pony. It looked more like a reptile. A dragon. "Spike? Is that you? I'm glad to see you made it home safe." "So... You do care about Spike..." "Huh?" It was not Spike's voice... Suddenly, she saw a bright green light coming from the figure and she began to smell fire, but not normal fire. Chrysalite fire. A changeling. "Chrysalis!" Twilight charged at the queen, her horn charged with magic. But she was quickly held back by a unseen force. Chrysalis' horn was glowing dark green. "It's Queen Chrysalis, my dear. It has been a while since we've seen each other. 3 years ago, correct? The wedding?" Twilight, fueled with anger, struggled to escape from the queen's grasp. Chrysalis just laughed. "Struggling is pointless." "Chrysalis, what're you doing here?" "Is there something wrong with seeing an old friend?" "You and I aren't friends..." "Awwww," said Chrysalis in a mocking voice. "And here I thought that friendship was magic." Twilight only grew angrier. "Don't you dare make fun of friendship! It took you out once, it'll take you out again!" Chrysalis laughed evilly and her eyes began to glow. "How delightful! But in all seriousness, I did not travel all the way here from the Badlands to get such negative language. I came here for food. Nothing more." "Well, sorry to disappoint you, your majesty," said Twilight "But you aren't getting any today. Not while I'm alive." "What a wonderful idea." Twilight was confused by that statement for a second, but she soon realized what she meant. A tremendous amount of force was crushing her stomach, preventing her from breathing. She began to choke and cough, wasting air. Chrysalis began to grin wider and wider, showing her fangs and her forked tongue. The world around Twilight faded to a jet black.
