I don't like walking to school, I don't like school and most of all I don't like being obnoxious.
Right now I'm doing all of those things. My name? It's Razercore. What a stupid name. could it be any more ridiculous? Yeah, it doesn't help me fit in at all: my small wings make me unable to fly which make me useless as a Pegasus, I don't know my parents and I have no family. It's hard to think of my mother for some reason and I can't be forced to. I feel very sick today, as I have for the past week, and it's making me very nervous and rude. Could my life get any worse? Yes, because I'm a bully magnet, I have small wings, a weird name and a loner attitude that gets me nowhere. As I enter the playground I am confronted by Hoops, the "ringleader" of my personal bully gang.
"Hey Razercore," he said with a mock evil smile on his face, "how's your flying going?" This was apparently hilarious and the whole group started laughing. I was too annoyed and stung, so I just left. "Hey, RAZERCORE! Where you going?" I ignored them. "We have some catching up to do at break don't we?" the whole group agreed with Hoops. I was worried. A couple of days earlier I had made a bold, but snide comment to them, then realizing this had been a bad idea, I had avoided them for a couple of days. I was dreading break and lessons were going very quickly, especially when the lesson was history and Hoops was making "I'm going to kill you" gestures along with the whole group.
It was now break. I thought about hiding, but there was nowhere to hide. It didn't matter anyway, because Hoops and the gang were way ahead of me.
"Hey, RAZERCORE! Get over here!" I gingerly walked toward them, because I had no option. "Think you could get away with taking the piss out of my mane?" he said.
"Yes" I replied thinking, oh no, why do I keep doing this? He pushed me roughly and I tripped over.
"You can take the piss out my mane, but you're nothing but a piece of loner waste with no family and a dead mother," he mocked.
I then felt like I was going to be sick. There was a burning sensation within me that was horrible and incredibly painful. Just when I thought I was going to explode, I had a flashback in third person view: It was of a hooded figure carefully placing a basket at a doorstep. The basket contained a baby foal and a note. The figure had a pink lock of mane sticking out of its hood.
As I came back to reality, all I heard was screaming. And all I could see was a red outline around my vision and a lot of fire. My flesh was red hot and my mane was on fire - no... it was emitting fire! Hotter than a furnace, it practically melted the tarmac beneath my hooves. Panicking, I rolled on the floor to put it out, but the floor was melting and I was sinking. So I got up and screamed, but what came out was a low demonic moan. I ran around trying to put out the fire. My vision faded, I bumped into someone and passed out.
One minute later I woke up. It was very painful, but not that bad considering my fur and mane, along with my tail and
wing feathers, had burnt away leaving untouched skin underneath. I then noticed other fillies and foals huddled in
the corner. I got up and a couple squealed and looked to the side of me. I glanced to my left and saw a foal lying on
the floor, unconscious, with mane, tail and fur burned down to the skin, which was a very angry shade of red.
chunks of flesh were hanging off him. The front of him especially badly burned. He was looking at me with complete and utter terror. It was then I realized it was Hoops. I looked back at the group in the corner.
"He's a monster!" said one filly and quickly hid herself. Then right before everyponys eyes, my fur grew back, with the same color as before. So did my mane, tail and flight feathers, but instead of having 2 feathers, I grew back three, the normal size for a foal my age. What was happening to me? I summoned all the strength I had and did what I did the best... I ran.
For three solid hours I ran away from the town over the hills and I didn't stop for anything. But eventually exhaustion caught up with me and I came to a rest at a tree on top of a hill. It was there that I saw a dark, ominous forest.
"That's where I belong," I thought, as I set off towards it. As I entered, I was numb to all the negative emanations radiating from it. As I trotted in, I realized that it was very cold and very disorientating. I heard a howl in the distance. It was like a slap to the face: sanity came back but so did the panic. I ran towards what I thought was the edge, but the forest got thicker and thicker, and darker and darker, to the point where I couldn't see anything. Suddenly there was a growl - only meters away from me!
"Oh fu-" It leaped toward me. I bolted off at breakneck speed aided by my wings but "it" was getting closer. Suddenly I stumbled into a clearing in the forest. I saw an occupied shack and I made for the door. I barely made it in time. What a relief! I expected the creature to hurl itself at the door, but instead, there was a high pitched yelp and I heard a crashing in the undergrowth as the creature fled.
"What is that I hear? It seems to be very near..."
