Yu-Gi-Oh! Friendship is Magic!
The God Puzzle (Part 2) - UNFINISHED
Previous ChapterTwilight Sparkle skidded to a halt in a well lit alleyway. She had been running for so long that her legs felt as though they would give out at any second. Spike had been talking to her the entire time, trying to calm her as she fled into the town. She could hear his voice as she dodged and weaved through the crowded streets but could not understand him through her tears. Twilight sat on her haunches and slowly began regaining control of herself. Spike had leapt off of her back a moment ago and was now standing directly in front of the distraught unicorn. “Twilight, look at me.” Spike began, his voice a mixture of command and concern “Now I know what those two said may have hurt, but they have no idea what they’re talking about! They don’t know the Princess like I do. Like you do.” Spike put his hand on Twilight’s chin and brought her face close to his, forcing her to look into his eyes. “And we both know that the Princess would never lie to you or force you to do anything if she didn't think it was important.”
At this, Twilight seemed to perk up a tad. A soft smile spread across her lips as she sniffled. “You know what, Spike?” Twilight said softly “You're absolutely right.” Twilight leaned forward and nuzzled Spike gently on the cheek. She then leapt up from her sitting position so forcefully that she knocked Spike five feet down the alley before proclaiming loudly “Which is why I’ve got to focus all of my effort on solving the Millennium Puzzle as quickly as possible!” Spike had woozily begun to attempt to regain his footing, only to be alleviated of this issue by being lifted off of the ground on onto the now ecstatic mare’s back as she began galloping excitedly to the large tree in the center of town. That was Ponyville's library, which she had earlier been informed would be her temporary abode during this three week trial.
Gilda continued to starred in the direction the lavender unicorn had fled, her lower beak hanging numbly. It had been right there, right in her hands! One little piece and she would have never had to come to her stupid job ever again. But now said piece was barreling into town on the back of a whining unicorn. Gilda clenched her fist and prepared to shout a string of obscenities before she remembered she was with company. The pony she was referring trotted up to Gilda’s side and placed a hoof on her shoulder. “Hey, you think we were too hard on her?” said Rainbow Dash. Gilda hesitated a moment before giving her answer, but Dash didn’t notice. “Nah,” said Gilda, “She'll come around. In fact...” Gilda paused for a moment, an idea forming in her mind. An awful idea. Gilda got a wonderful, awful idea. “I was thinking,” Gilda started, “That unicorn might not be such a lame-o if we got her away from that stupid puzzle.” A wide smile stretched itself across Rainbow’s face. “You took the words right out of her mouth.” she said, pulling something from behind her back. “In fact, I’m five steps ahead of you.”
Gilda looked down at the object in Dash’s hooves and her jaw dropped. “You... you... how did... when did... huh?” Gilda stammered. “Yeah, I thought of the same thing while we were talking to her,” Dash explained, “So I just took this piece out when I was looking in the box. She didn’t even notice.” Dash floated into the air and began flexing her muscles. “Feel free to point out how awesome I am.” she said. “Dash, you're freaking amazing!” Gilda said, her eyes never leaving the golden piece still in the weather pony’s hoof. It was a large piece, nearly filling Dash’s entire hoof. In the center was a design of some-sort. It looked like some kind of eye with what appeared to be two tears dripping out of the bottom-center. Gilda was mesmerized. Visions of an endless sea of cash flowed through her mind, which is part of the reason she was too slow to stop what happened next.
“And now, for the last part.” Dash said. Gilda’s expression shifted from mesmerized to confused, before rapidly shifting to horrified as Rainbow Dash chucked the puzzle piece off in the direction of the Everfree Forest. Gilda sat stunned for a moment as Dash dusted off her hooves. “All in a day’s work for the Dash-ster.” the Pegasus said, right before she was violently grabbed on the shoulders by a mortified Gilda. “WHAT IN THE HAY DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!?” Gilda shouted in Rainbow’s face. Dash’s expression became one of confusion. “What, you didn't want that nerdy puzzle piece, did you?” she said. Gilda froze for a moment, remembering the position she was in. She needed an excuse and fast. “No, of course not.” Gilda responded quickly, “I was just thinking... uh, that, uh... she might find it! Yeah! That bookworm’s gonna be lookin’ all over for it, but if we keep it with us she’ll never find it!” Gilda smirked inwardly at her own cleverness. Dash put a hoof to her chin and thought for a moment. “Well, I guess that makes sense...” Dash replied.
