A gray pony rocks in a oak made rocking chair. A fire roars to the right of him as he looks out the window at the night sky. He looks at the clock above the fire place in his brick house that nestles in close to the outside of the Everfree forest. He lives secluded from everyone else to make sure he can stay peaceful. Every once in a while he's left with his grandson and young red earth pony foal.
"Grandpa Grandpa!" The you foal comes running down the stairs behind the old pony.
He smiles and faces the young fall as he slides in front of the old pony and asks, "Granpa! Will you tell me a story!"
The grandpa laughs and says, "Of course young one. Now get comfy an listen well okay?"
The red foal lays on his belly and looks up innocently up at his grandpa.
"Ready!" The young foal says happily.
The grandpa coughs a little and says, "Okay. A long time ago there used to live a village that grew magical beans in the ground that grew from granting one wish. It could be any kind of wish at all. Immortality, peace of earth, or the bringing back of the dead. The story is about a teen earth pony that goes by the name of Claric. Claric was always a mischievous little foal and always seemed to get into some kind of trouble. He never had made a wish on a magic been before because he was always told not to but he got the uncontrollable urge to do so. So he went to the bean farm and decided to make his first wish. The boy wished to be completely invisible to the world and so his wish happened."
"I would love to be invisible!" The young foal says excitedly, "I could scare anyone!"
The old one chuckles a bit and says, "Yes. He thought the same thing and began using his power to trick ponies. He decided to travel only resting when he could to prank everyone he could. He pranked many. The king. The queen. Every pony."
"Well that's not bad at all."
"Yes. That would be great but, here's the catch. When he finally returned from his adventure to his home town and went to his home where a bunch of people move around. He tried to open the door and his hand just phases through it. He found it weird at first and tired again and again. He eventually turned around and tried to ask people for help but he found out he could not speak either. He was in fact completely invisible to the world. He could speak to anyone around him, he couldn't touch anyone around him, no one could see him, and no one can touch him. He stood in front of a horse carriage and the carriage goes straight through him. He's complexly unscratched.
He realized he couldn't live with anyone. The magic beans had messed him up. He left town wanting to cry but couldn't. The animals could see him so he could no longer talk or do anything as long as people saw him.
"But than how did he do his tricks?" The foal asks.
"He was able to set them up before hand so he could do them from a distant just incase they suspected it was an invisible person."
"Than why couldn't he wright in the dirt to get people attention."
"Well." The old man chuckles at his the foal's questions, Like I said he's invisible to the world so he couldn't wright. When he tried with incoming travelers The stick he would use would fall straight down and the message in the dirt would disappear like it was never written. He also used sticks to do it but the same thing happened. The stick latterly scattered apart before the traveler could see them. So my young foal. What is the moral of the story?" He asks finishing it up and leaning back in the rocking chair.
"I don't know grandpa. Think before you act?" The foal says sitting up yawning.
"No no. The story is about be careful what you wish for because some wishes aren't all what they seem to be." The old pony says leaning forward and rubbing his grandson's head, "Now you head on up and get yourself to sleep. I'll tell you another story in the morning if ya like."
"Okay grandpa!" The foal says immediately getting up and running up the stairs to his room.
The grandpa smiles and chuckles to himself as he looks at the clock on the fireplace again.
"Oh how the years have passed..."
