After settling at their seats, Miss Cheerilee cantered to the front of the class and greeted the colts and fillies under her care in the usual way, with a smiling face and friendly tone. The dozen or so ponies returned with smiles of their own and greeted their favorite teacher. She cast her greyish-green eyes over the little ones paying a mixed attention to her always warm welcome. Reason for this was because there was a guest waiting toward the back of the room, one who seemed familiar but was yet to be introduced in a formal manner.

The mare could easily understand her students' excitement as their guest was so unique and interesting a character. Without further ado the earth pony teacher called her class to be respectful toward "Mr. Discord," whom she called the draconequus without an inkling of irony or insincerity in her voice. The foals clapped their hooves in a polite manner against the wooden floor of the moderately sized schoolhouse and the lanky creature moved to take a spot next to his pony hostess. With a wave of his paw, Discord earned the smiles and undue attention of the pony youth.

The quick silence that settled was broken just as quickly with a simple phrase. "So...I'm Discord," he began in earnest, to which the dozen or so ponies gleefully giggled and returned with,

"Hello, Discord" "Hello, Mr. Discord" "Mr...Discord?"

The children looked about, unsure exactly how to greet the eclectically composed adult standing before them who chuckled at the scene. They murmured amongst themselves for a bit what theories or guesses they had, ranging from uninterested acceptance to out and out dismay from a certain trio of fillies.  Cheerilee was laughing as well, though with a nervous edge in her voice and her smile was slightly ticked up more on one side of her mouth than another.

"R-right..." she said in an authoritative way as to lead the proceedings. In taking the reigns by clearing her throat, the murmurs and disagreements of the colts and fillies as to how they were supposed to address the guest ceased as the students turned their ears back to the front of the room. "Mr. Discord, could you tell us a bit about yourself?"

Hearing this request, Discord aim his yellowed eyes to the mare. "What would you like to know, my dear?" He asked in return, confidence lending a cooler air to the way he stood as the dozen or so pairs of eyes turned from him and trained onto the teacher.

"Um..." Unfazed by the turnaround, Cheerilee needed only a fraction of a moment to decide how to start things off in a concrete, structured way that would best benefit her students to take advantage of this rare opportunity. It wasn't every day that a very part of Equestria history could provide insight into the happenings of the world around them, considering how busy the princesses tended to be. "Well, if you wouldn't mind, could you start by explaining to the children what it was that led to you being turned into a statue in the first place?" She asked.
