Chapter 27

Morning Strategy

The next morning, Ghidorah, Biollante, Rodan, Mothra, Luna, Celestia, and Discord all met in the underground hangar where the Super X-P was kept. They all stood around a table, in a room designated the "War Room." Well, designated by everyone save Celestia. She refused to accept the name war, considering it beneath her.

The room was littered with maps of Equestria lining the walls, covered in red ink as the group made their plans for battle.

"Equestria lacks a formal military, and even if we sent all of our guards, they are not trained well enough to combat our foe," Celestia said.

"What of the Elements? Twilight is a princess now, she has responsibilities," Luna added.

"No. This is too dangerous to send somepony so valuable. In any case, the Elements are unpredictable. There's no telling how they may react to something like Hedorah," Celestia retorted.

"What about me?" Discord asked. "Can't I just go and take Hedorah down myself?"

Celestia shook her head. "As much as I would want to, you're unpredictable Discord. You may be reformed, but that doesn't mean I'm about to let you run off on your own without supervision,"

"So, that leaves us then, doesn't it?" Ghidorah asked.

Celestia nodded. "You are our only viable option at the moment. There's no telling if more kaiju have appeared yet, or if they've allied with Hedorah or not. We'll just have to make do with what little intel we have,"

Luna turned to Biollante's avatar. "Are you feeling better?"

The plant pony nodded. "Good. You will stay here, in case Hedorah or any other kaiju tries to attack Ponyville or Canterlot,"

Celestia turned to King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan. "That means the three of you will be heading out to fight Hedorah. We believe we may have found were it went into hiding, and we will send you there," she said.

"The Super X-P will also accompany you. The pilots have already received their orders, and are ready for launch,"

Ghidorah nodded. "So, I suppose we should get going, shouldn't we?" he asked.

The two pony princesses nodded. The kaiju began to exit the room, when Celestia held Ghidorah back. She waited until everyone else was gone. "Ghidorah, I'm letting you go finish this. Please, don't make me regret it," she said.

Ghidorah looked her in the eyes. "Don't worry. I won't," he said simply, before heading to leave.

Ghidorah walked away, when he heard Celestia again. "Oh, and Ghidorah?"

He stopped, not turning around. Celestia paused, trying to find the right words. "Be careful," she said.

Ghidorah huffed, before walking to the launch platform.

Trixie, Derpy, and Gatling Gale all sat in their prescribed chairs inside the Super X-P.

"You two ready?" Gatling asked. "We may not come out of this alive,"

Trixie frowned with deep determination. "I'm ready!" Derpy said.

"Let's go," Trixie added.

The machine's engines roared to life, and they were airborne. Not long after, Rodan and Mothra - now at full size - appeared alongside them.

Then something blotted out the sun.

King Ghidorah had flew above them, a single goal in his three heads.

Destroy.

Hedorah stood on the side of the mountain. It sensed its foes coming. Were the hideous blob capable of it, it would have grinned. Krystalak appeared next to him. "We're ready, Boss. Just give the word, and we'll start trashing," he said.

Obsidius erupted from the ground. "Are they coming here?" Hedorah gurgled.

"Yes, friend. They will be here within the hour,"

Krystalak chuckled. "They have no idea what we have planned!"

Truthfully, there wasn't much of a plan. Kill everything. That was the plan. Hedorah slightly regretted that the only kaiju he was able to recruit were absolute morons, but beggars can't be choosers. In any case, the time for planning could come later. As soon as Ghidorah and his allies were dead, and nothing lay before him and supremacy, then Hedorah could plan its next moves.

"They will be here soon. Take your positions," Hedorah said. Krystalak and Obsidius nodded, burrowing back into the ground. Hedorah took on his flying form, and took to the air.

Soon, the battle would begin.

And soon, the world would be Hedorah's.
