Tom slowly shifts back to reality. "What a weird dream, I shouldn't be drinking so much coffee late at night." "Time for breakfast!" he says as he goes to the kitchen and takes out a few loafs of bread and looks into the fridge. "Cheese again then, I should really go the the shop today." he says because there's only cheese left. "Oh yeah, I have a day of today, well, good timing." He eats his simple breakfast and puts some clothes on. He leaves the house and locks the door. 'So cheese, salami, chicken filet and bread should do' he thinks to himself making a mental shopping list. -=-=- He enters the shop and searches the things he listed, goes to the cashier and pays the bill. The rest of the day he was going to do some things for work to catch up a little and watch TV. As he unlocks the door he hears some stumbling inside. He quickly opens the door and finds himself standing in front of someone, or better somepony he knows very well. As he looses consciousness and falls to the ground she says "Hello, I'm... " and then everything goes black -=-=- He wakes finding himself lying on the couch surrounded by eight ponies that he all knows. "Are you alright?" asks Celestia. "Well, I don't know." he says in deep thoughts. "Or I've gone crazy, or you're really in my house." "Well, first of we're really in your house and secondly, you fell unconscious right in front of me." "I know as much." he says. "Okay then, who are you exactly?" Rainbow Dash asks. "Well, I'm Tom, and from what I can tell you're Rainbow Dash, element of loyalty. Your friends are Pinkie Pie, element of laughter, Fluttershy, element of kindness, Applejack, element of honesty, Rarity, element of generosity, Twilight Sparkle, element of magic and the princesses, Celestia and Luna." Her mouth hangs wide open, just as the rest of them have their mouths wide agape, except for Celestia, who's smiling. "You know a lot, more than I thought you would. Well that speeds up a few things as introducing ourselves isn't necessary." Celestia says, still smiling widely. "Now, why did we come here you might ask. Well, because of you." He stares plain at her as he processes what she just said. "Wait, what do you mean?" he says after a few seconds. "What I mean is that you are selected to be my representative in this world." "No, it can't be me! This is a mistake!" he says in total panic. "No, if you are Tomas Geoffrey a.k.a Tom then it's you I'm looking for." she says calmly. "No no no no!" and he blacks out again. -=-=- He wakes up alone with no light in the room. "It must be nighttime if it's so dark." He stands up and walks to his bedroom. When he opens the door he sees the 8 ponies lying calmly sleeping on his bed. "The couch it will be then." he says defeated. He goes back to the living room and he lays down on the sofa. After a few minutes he falls asleep. -=-=- "Well hello there, Tom." Luna says. "Wait, how did you enter my, oh yeah." he says remembering that Luna can enter dreams. "What do you guys wan't from me? And is Celestia kidding that I'm her representative in this world?" "First of, my sister isn't joking when she says such things. We have waited 284 years for you to be born and grown old enough to understand what's happening. And what do we wan't from you? Well I honestly have no idea, you'll have to ask my sister about that." "Okay." he says a little surprised. "Well, good dreams then." Luna says while fading away. -=-=- The next morning he's been woken up by Applejack, who's violently shaking him. "What!" he says annoyed. "Well hello sugarcube." she says in her typical accent "I need to get you to princess Celestia so she can give you the ability to use magic." "What! AWESOME!" I scream through the house. "What kind of magic exactly?" I ask curious. "Ah don't know, I guess unicorn magic." "Well good morning Tom, now you should have already heard I'm going to give you the ability to use magic. Have you ever seen another human use it?" Celestia asks "No, only illusions that others call magic." I say. "Okay, are you ready?" "One last question princess, is it going to hurt?" I ask trying to prepare myself. "I don't know, but I don't think it will." she says in all honesty. "Okay, then I'm ready." She starts the spell and I'm lifted into the air. The next moment I immediately regretted that decision. It hurt like hell! There's no way to describe the pain I felt that moment. The worst was that it was all over my body. A few seconds later I blacked out, again. -=-=- He wakes up surrounded by  all the eight ponies who have been staying for a day by now. Celestia asks "How do you feel?" "Tired." he says completely out of energy and in need of some more sleep. "Did it hurt?" "A lot. What did change to me?" he immediately asks. "Well, you can use magic now, but you will still have to learn how, and that's what my sister is going to learn you. She will enter your dreams and learn how you can use magic, so it doesn't conflict with your daily life." "And when I know everything I need to know, what will happen then?" "Well, you need to go to the rulers of this planet and tell them that you need to better your life's or most of you will die, except for the ones that already do good in their life." "So, how long is that going to take?" "I don't know but I estimate two to three months." "Well, what are you guys going to do now?" "We will leave and come back again in a month to check what progress you made, and some extra lessons from me." "Well, goodbye then." "Goodbye, oh, one last thing. Tell as least people as possible, we don't wan't to be discovered." "Au revoir." he says in his best French accent. "Goodbye." they all say together. Tom says cheerfully to his colleagues greeting them. "Where have you been yesterday?" a tall men in a black suit ask firmly as he almost bumps into him. "I-eh,I was sick." he says lying but keeping the cover he promised to the princesses. "Get back to work." his boss commands in the same monotone voice he always has, well except for the time he drunk to much whisky and was talking claptrap the rest of the day. "O-Okay, I-I'll do that, mister Harvey" he says a little scared. Mister Harvey smiles and then walks back to his office, where he usually does nothing but observe Tom and his coworkers. -=-=- "You weren't sick, weren't you?" Hilda, the only female employee in the room asks. "Well, I wasn't feeling good when I woke up and after that I had a headache" he says lying again 'she doesn't need to know' he thinks in his head as he starts working. The rest of the day nothing special happened, aside when the secretary got fired during lunch, again! Mister Harvey had the bad habit to fire the secretary's as fast as possible. This one did last pretty long, 2 and a half day to be exact, the others usually got fired the day they were employed. Back to the point, nothing special happened and he got home safe and sound. -=-=- "Well, another boring day of work done." he says while seating in the couch and lounging for a few minutes. He then goes to the kitchen, makes a simple meal and eating it upright. He washes the dishes, takes a shower and decides to go to bed a little early today so he has some more time to learn how to use magic tonight. -=-=- "Brrr, I should really call the plumber to fix that busted boiler, it's starting to annoy me, those freezing cold showers. Well, next weekend probably, now lets go to bed and hope Luna's ready too. He lays himself down onto the simple bed and falls asleep almost instantly. "Goodnight." he manages to say before drifting to sleep. -=-=- "WELCOME, THOU SHALL BEGIN WITH OUR LESSONS." Luna screams in the royal Canterlot voice, only to be greeted by a thrown over Tom who wasn't expecting that she would use it. "Eh, hello?" he says confused by the loud scream Luna made. "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to ..." "Alright, alright, just don't scream like that anymore." Tom says his ears still peeping a little from the sudden amount of decibels. "Okay, now let's get started shall we?" Luna asks already knowing the answer that's going to come. "Yes, let's get started. So, where do we start?" He asks wanting answers and getting over whit the lesson as quickly as possible. "First, you need to know how to gather enough energy to perform spells, so that's where we are going to focus on the most today. Maybe we can start with simple levitation to, but I doubt we can get that far today." "Well, what are we waiting for!" Tom exclaims excited. "Not that fast, first you need to focus your mind in order to do it. I'm going to get a small ball of pure magic and I want you to concentrate on it, as long as possible." That sounded not as much fun he had hoped the lessons would be, but he can't complain, you're already the only one that can do magic after all, well, the only human who can anyway. "Okay, let's get started then." he says calmer than his original excitement. -=-=- After an hour it started becoming boring constantly watching the same little thing. "Hey Luna, where you're first lessons as boring as this one, or were they more fun?" Tom asks being bored to dead and wanting to get a conversation going. No reply. "Hey Luna" he says again, this time stopping to watch at the globe of magic. This was the worst thing he could do as he got kicked right in the face as he turned around. "Concentrate!" Luna said firmly, reminding him of his own boss. "Aw, okay, but why was that necessary?" "You need to concentrate!" She said, making her point to Tom. -=-=- Two hours later Tom began drifting away. "I think I'm waking up Luna." he says. "End of the training then." she says strictly. "Holy, I need to get to work immediately!" he says not wanting to come late. "Not with strangers, but friends always deserve some compliments. Anyway, I should really get going, I haven't had breakfast this morning so I'm really hungry. "Great, I think I got Mr. Harvey to like me!" she says even more exited as this morning. "You got him to like you? How did you do that?" Tom asks this time more curious than the last. "Show him some funny pictures, drink some coffee, have a nice chat about something not work related and keep smiling. That's how I got it done anyway." "Wow, well, I'm of to work again. Harvey says to his wife "Hello, how was your day?" his wife asks as always. "Enjoyable for once, the new secretary isn't a nerd and I actually like her, which is pretty rare if you ask me." "So you're saying I'm not good enough anymore or what?" "No, no, It's just something I wanted to share because it's the first interesting thing in almost a year." "And what was the last interesting thing again?" "We had a new boss in the department." "Oh yeah, that guy. He's the one who declined to organize the yearly employee dinner." "In the morning, I didn't recognize her at first until she addressed me, she's got her hair dyed brown now." "Well, you still are lucky to have her at your work." "Well, my boss, Mr. Harvey, tends to fire the secretary rather quickly, the longest we had a secretary was 3 days, but I think Sarah's going to keep it up quiet a lot longer."
