//-------------------------------------------------------// SnowBlind -by EchoMinor- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One A dreary afternoon was predicted already across most of Equestria, with flurries of prescheduled snow eminent in Ponyville. Yet a chilled white unicorn was out and about close to sunset. Cursing herself for forgetting her scarf, she quickened her pace as to get out of the cold as soon as possible. “Oh, Rarity. Of course you pick the coldest day of the year not to look fabulous," she muttered through her chattering teeth. Shivering with nearly every step and her head tucked close to her chest she made her journey back to her home. While collecting gemstones for a new dress she was designing during the warmer parts of the afternoon, she carelessly forgot about the fast-approaching inclement weather that had been forecasted. Laden with the freshly collected gems, her gate was hampered as she struggled against the cold and the weight on her back. Her eyes, stinging from the frigid air, were tightly closed when the clouds closed together and the first flakes began fall. Feeling the feathery ice land on her nose, tears began to stream down her face. Nearly two miles from her front door, she almost gave into the cold. With emotional and physical discomfort driving her strides she managed to keep a steady pace. As the sun set, the temperature fell sharply and the snow drifts started to grow, Rarity pushed her thoughts to warmer things. Her beckoning fire-place, the bed she longs to be in after a hard day’s work, the cup of tea she promises herself, the soft blue fur she has been casually fantasizing all day over. Taken aback by her last thought, her eyes open with a jolt, revealing to her the faint glow of candles burning in the windows of homes in the distant town. While still a ways from her home, the snow had now made traversing difficult. Every step meant she had to pull her numb hooves from the two inch deep snow. Still encouraged by the sight of the warmth the town offers, she presses on. Keeping her thoughts on that which had woken her from her trance, she allowed herself a smile. The pegasus who were in charge of weather duty had done a surprisingly efficient job of encouraging the blizzard. Less than an hour ago, Rarity was faced only with cold and fatigue. Now, with the snow level ever-rising, and the winds picking up speed, her vision was obscured and she had great difficulty walking. Even after losing the warm glow in the distance to the swirls of white blowing up from the ground, the still smiling Rarity continued to trudge on, her mind racing with the thought of the cocky grin, beautiful mane, and the sleek build of the pony that happily haunted her dreams. The same pony that had caused such internal controversy during the past weeks, somehow always brought a smile to her face. Letting herself be consumed once more by the images flowing in her head, she forgot about the cold and lost all grasp on reality. Going back to the dream she has had for the past week. Her hooves pressed to the ground above her, a single drop of sweat tracing the edge of her cheek, the warmth of another on top of her, a gentle bite on the side of her neck, a kiss between her hind legs, the shudders that ripple through her body as ecstasy overcomes her grip on reality. Her cheeks easily became the warmest part of her body as she blushed at the graphic idea. The mental re-cap of her dream now complete, Rarity opens one eye wide enough to check her progress. Less than a hundred yards away lay the edge of her home-town. Free from her thoughts' mind numbing qualities, she realized she was shivering more now than ever and had lost sensation through most of her core. Scrambling towards the city, she could no longer stand the cold. As the winds howled and tore through her thick mane, icy tremors worked their way down her back. Step-by-step she worked her way clumsily towards her destination. The last few feet seemed to take an eternity as she came to familiar roads and noticed the signs she remembered fondly, although most are now topped with snow and covered in a sheet of ice. Not forcing herself to stay outside any longer, she forced open the door of the nearest home and threw herself into the warmth and protection from the ice and wind that it so welcomingly offered. While knocking was not on her list of priorities, Rarity did soon begin to wonder whose home she wandered into. As she glanced across the room, she noticed everything seemed to be covered in a fine layer of dust, as if it hadn't been lived in for years. No pictures or memories lined the shelves. The only sign of life in the room happened to be the slowly thawing body of the exhausted intruder. Rarity took this as a blessing of not having barged into the home of one of her acquaintances. She found the wood and tools necessary and slowly set to build a fire in the cob-web strewn fireplace. She cringed as the sticky webs clung to her mane, but started the fire with skilled precision and warmed her hooves in the glow. Once satisfiably warm, she moved to the well-worn couch that the previous owners must have left, dusting the cushions thoroughly before succumbing to the trials she had endured. Sleep came quickly for the exhausted unicorn and she found herself back in the erotic dreamland she so desperately loved. Experiencing the same familiar dream she thought back to several times throughout the day. Her hooves entwined in the colorful mane of the pony on top of her, the slow uncontrollable moans that pass through lips, the warmth growing in the same place she feels the skilled tongue pressing against her, her eyes rolling into the back of her head as every muscle in her body tenses. Startled by a knock, the still drowsy Rarity awoke with a jolt. Scanning for what made the noise she slowly focused on the door. Another knock, and she is certain of the source. She slowly crept to the door and shakily asked, “Who’s there…?” Another knock, certainly more urgent this time forced Rarity’s conscience into opening the door. As the snow and wind blasted through the open door, so did a Rainbow clad Pegasus, knocking Rarity to the ground. Pinned to the floor, the startled Rarity peered into the eyes of the pony on top of her. The smiling face of Rainbow Dash stared back. Startled, tired, and somewhat embarrassed, she couldn't judge the situation immediately. Still in a state of shock, all she could mutter was, “Rainbow!” “Rarity? What are you doing here?” “What are YOU doing here?” Rarity accused, defensively. Not wanting her friend to know of her careless mistake of missing the weather announcement Rainbow herself had given. Realizing just how awkward their position was, Rainbow withdrew herself and allowed the startled unicorn to come to her feet. Regaining some of her composure as she slowly stood on her still unstable legs, Rarity’s eyes darted towards the ground, fixating on a knot in the ancient floor boards. A now suspicious Rainbow Dash calmly grew more and more curious as she noticed Rarity was avoiding eye contact. Disrupting the silence and answering the question Rarity had posed she replied, “Well, I was out watching the progress of the blizzard, making sure Derpy didn't mess things up again. After last week’s tornado incident I wasn't about to let this go unchecked. That’s when I saw a light in here. This place has been abandoned for ages! I was actually expecting a ghost, but instead I find a pony who looks like she’s seen one.” Rarity could barely comprehend the response. She did, however, realize that her friend could tell she was in a state of shock. Limerence was now overshadowing her will to impress the pony from her dreams. She longed to speak to her friend but the words wouldn't form in the cloudy shambles of her mind. Her hind legs gave out and she was now sitting on the dusty floor, still struggling to piece together a sentence. “You OK, Rarity? I didn't mean to scare you like that.” Dropping to a sweeter tone and nuzzling the disconcerted unicorn, she continued, “Now why don’t you tell me what you’re doing in a place like this.” Feeling the warm embrace, the corners of her mouth curled skyward and she regained the strength to stand. Her thoughts less cloudy as her heart rate slowed from the comfort her friend offered. Frantically thinking of a way to avoid the telling of her mishap, she replied, “If you MUST know, I got caught in this horrid snow storm looking for Opal. The poor dear wandered off just before the clouds came. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving her outside cold and alone.” Self-admittedly it wasn't her best excuse, but it seemed to satisfy Rainbow who immediately offered to brave the storm and look for her. “No! That…That’s quite alright.” Rarity almost shuddered as she realized she seemed almost desperate to keep Rainbow Dash in the house. Immediately trying to correct her mistake, “The darling simply must learn not to leave the house without her mama, even if it does have to be the hard way. Besides, you can’t see five feet in front of your hooves out there.” Thankfully, Rainbow seemed to buy the explanation, making her way towards the fire place to warm her frozen wings. Stretching them in front of the blaze encouraging the last snowflakes that clung to her to melt away. As Rarity watched from the entrance of their temporary shelter, she allowed herself to savor the pegasus’ stunning features. Every inch of her was a blissful mystery. The tone build of her legs and wings was enough to make Rarity’s mouth gape. Her fur was glistening in the firelight as she basked in the warmth it offered. Rarity bit her lower lip to keep from squealing with delight. Thrilled to see the pony she dreamt about outside of her thoughts for once, and all alone. She still couldn't fight falling back into an erotic trance. “I hope you don’t mind me coming in, I might as well warm up before I check the rest of town. It’s hard to walk when the snow is this deep, and it’s almost impossible to fly with ice in your feathers.” The words were a faint buzz to Rarity, whose mind once again fixated on her recurring dream, the memory becoming jumbled in her hazy mind. Her lips pressed against those of the pony she secretly admired, the warmth of her own hoof against her forehead, her glazed expression warmly reflected in the eyes of her partner, her heart pounding with the sexual excitement, a reassuring hoof brushing her mane from her face revealing a bashful smile as she exposed herself to the pony only inches away. “…Rarity? RARITY!!!” Rainbow brightly exclaimed breaking the grip the dream had taken on her friend. Noticing the goofy smile that had rooted itself in Rarity’s expression and the quiet, high pitched whines she was unknowingly emitting she began to question the stability of her friend. “Are you sure you’re ok?” She asked playfully, stepping away from the fire and closer to her friend who was shaking with excitement. Rainbow placed a hoof on her vibrating counterpart which succeeded in stopping the tremors that plagued her. “I’m fine. Never been better I should say!” Beamed a delighted Rarity. Regardless of her dreary surroundings the gorgeous pegasus in front of her kept her smiling. “Riiiiight. If you say so.” Still confused as to what had her friend so bother, she removed her hoof and jumped onto the couch situated in front of the fire. A cloud of dust rising from the worn cushions despite her more than graceful landing. Letting out an airy yawn she accidently inhaled some of the chalky particles. Sputtering she invited Rarity to join her. Carefully picking a spot she had previously cleaned, she sat beside her friend still beaming from her dream. “We should probably get out of here as soon as possible you know. Somepony is bound to get suspicious, just like I did. It won’t be as easy to explain breaking into a house to someone else,” Rainbow suggested tilting her head towards the wooden door. "I should probably go now, but I can't leave you here all alone." “Ah… O-Of course, Thank you,” Rarity muttered. Her grin melted as she realized her hold on her friend’s presence wasn’t permanent, although she wished it had been. “I say we head out when the winds die down. I’ll walk you home,” Rainbow said with a smile. She frantically weighed her options, she could either wait out the storm and sleep in her own bed and in an atmosphere better suited for a unicorn such as herself, or stay in this abandoned home with the pony she had such strong feelings for. She desperately longed to let her friends know of her true feelings. However the words wouldn’t come together. In desperation to give a response she said only, “Of Course.” “Well, in the meantime I’m going to get some shut eye. You got any blankets in this place?” Though Rarity hadn’t yet looked for any, a devilish thought crossed her mind. “There aren’t any blankets, but if you’re cold we can cuddle to share warmth.” Before she could stop herself she added, “Noponys wathching.” Again angry at herself for being so rash, she turned her head away reticently and thought to herself. ‘You must be joking, you’ve been with her for less than ten minutes and you’re already turning her away.’ A glint of surprise flashed across Rainbow’s face as she received such a strange offer. However with the fire’s heat not fully reaching the couch, she brushed all insecurities aside. “Anything beats the cold. The storm has to be finished by tomorrow. We’ll leave bright and early!” Yawning again, and curling up with the unicorn, the sleepy pegasus’ eyes immediately shut. Before she was swept away into her deep sleep, she muttered something to the likeness of, “Goodnight.” Resting next to the warm Pegasus beside her, smiling inside and out, Rarity was overly thrilled, almost fainting when Rainbow had agreed. Being this close to the one she loved made her crave even more. The slightest brush of her flank would have set her over the edge. Secretly watching her crush sleep as her stunning chest moved up and down with each deep breath, she soon became aware of her own fatigue. Pressing as much of her body against Rainbows as she could, she closed her eyes and drifted back into her fantasy filled wonderland. Her horn casting a blue glow on her surroundings as she stifled screams of delight as the warmest part her body was wet with pleasure, Her forelegs thrown around the pony that made her feel this way, Her own teeth tempting to bite through her lower lip as she struggled to hold back. Silence. Both ponies instantly awoke to silence. No sunlight casting rays through the dusty air, no noise of the town they found themselves in, nothing but silence. Although they were both wide awake and could easily tell by how well rested they were that it was inarguably morning outside, none of the tell-tale signs were noticeable. Even with snow Derpy would still be giving her daily mail call, the fillies would still have school, and everyone would try to go about their day. Silence. Almost frantically, the same idea came to both ponies at once. Rushing to the door, they each took a deep breath to prepare them for what they might see. Rainbow dash, taking initiative, grabbed the handle of the heavy wooden door and closed her eyes as she pulled the door towards her. Wearily opening one eye, her worst suspicions were confirmed, Rarity was already staring in astonishment. They were greeted with an seemingly impenetrable wall of deafening snow. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three “One,” Rainbow's hooves pawed the ground anxiously, “Two,” she lowered her head as she neared the end of her countdown, “THREE!” With her wings folded tightly against her body she charged headlong into the impending wall of icy accumulation. Connecting with the snow at full speed, the mass consumed half of her body leaving her hind legs dangling behind her. Although muffled, Rarity could still comprehend the curses coming from her friend now struggling to pull herself from the snow. “Derpy! When I get my hooves on you! This is the second time this month!” Letting a slight giggle escape her lips, Rarity finally decided to help the trapped Pegasus. Grabbing one of her friend’s waving legs; she tugged until both she and Rainbow landed on the floor. While her friend was utterly flustered with their current situation, she was delighted to keep her company as long as possible. Rarity would give up not only the familiarity and comfort of her home, but also her time, energy, and money to be with the one she was now trapped with. While her mind was fixed on her recurring fantasy, Rainbow’s was set on something entirely different. “It’s no use! We’re gonna die in here!” Rainbow yelled as she began to pace the floor. “Nonsense! We’ll be out of here as soon as the snow melts. Calm yourself dear. There’s no sense in getting all worked up over being stuck in here.” Picking herself off the ground and dusting off her silken, white coat, she pushed the door closed; hiding the hole in the snow her friend had just created in her hopeless attempt at escaping. Rainbow’s head hung in dismay at the fact that she would unavoidably be stricken to the ground for the next few days. She fell onto the couch behind her, completely disheartened and confused. “I told them to watch Derpy! Who knows what she did this time!” She could almost hear the Pegasus shout ‘I just don’t know what went wrong.’ At least seven feet of snow had blanketed Ponyville, suffocating the homes and confining their inhabitants to their icy prison. Though all of Ponyville was stuck inside for the next few days, everypony had stockpiled food and wood in fear that Derpy would strike again. Food. Wood. These thoughts dawned on Rarity. Maybe being stuck in this place wasn’t the blessing she thought it had been. Knowing that the rest of the town was safe and prepared, she let her thoughts rest on her own troubles. Trapped in the abandoned, albeit cozy, home; they wouldn’t last long with only friendship to sustain them. As magic as it is, friendship isn’t edible. Dashing to the kitchen without saying a word made the ever-intrigued pegasus even more so. “Everything ok in there?” The opening and closing of cupboards echoed throughout the house as she searched for an apple, some oats, anything to help them get through the days ahead. Rainbow moved herself closer to the situation wondering what had her friend so frantic. Still upset about being stuck inside she casually looked around the dusty kitchen taking in her surroundings and familiarizing herself, while her friend was throwing pots, pans, bowls, utensils, and more around in her desperate search. Glancing nervously across the room, she noticed a large burlap sack resting on the wall opposite her, cautiously stepping forward she opened the bag and peered inside. Realizing it was full of fresh apples and branded with the Sweet Apple Acres’ emblem, she let her dreary mood slip away and bit into her breakfast. Her vision blurred and her ears began to ring as a stray pot connected with her forehead. Hearing the unfamiliar thud behind her, much unlike the metal-on-wood contact she had heard before, Rarity switched her focus from the cupboards to her dazed friend. Noticing the red gleam in her hoof, excitement outweighed all of her concerns for her safety and that of her friends’, she tackled Rainbow and had to contain herself to prevent an unexpected kiss. “Why didn’t you tell me you had food? What could you have possibly thought I was doing? Being nosy?” Laughing at her last statement. “Well…” Rainbow continued, still dizzy from her recent trauma, “You didn’t ask.” Rarity surprised herself when she had jumped on her friend. It was so unlike her to become physical with anypony. Her unlikely infatuation brought out a completely different side to her, and she secretly enjoyed it. Avoiding another cavalier fantasy she brushed the notion aside and helped her stunned friend to her hooves. There was still the wood ordeal, but for now she knew they had plenty, the snow would melt in a few days and if needed, they could always burn the furniture. As Rainbow's eyes spun freely she stuttered, “I-I think I might need to sit down for a bit” The room appeared to be spinning as she struggled to stay upright. Rarity, now free from all her worries, guided her dazed friend towards the couch and resumed her carefree mindset. She began contemplating her next move towards her delicate situation, fearful that she would make a mistake and prevent becoming more than friends. ‘What to do, what to do? I could always tell her how I feel and hope she’s open to the idea, or maybe even feels the same. Or I could let my feelings take over. Just a kiss would…’ Her grip on her thoughts diminished as she thought about her lips touching her friend’s. Losing control of all images in her mind, her fantasies involuntarily took over, sending her into her erotic trance she was now completely familiar with. Her hoof taken by another guiding her somewhere warm, her hind legs curling around the body above her preventing any distance between them, the panting of two bodies warming the already balmy room, the firelight casting flickering shadows across her beautiful fur, her tongue entwined with her lover’s, an exhausted kiss before falling asleep. As the world fell back into reality, Rarity couldn’t believe her eyes. She was staring at the content face of her friend while their lips gently rested on each other. She allowed her eyes to close just as Rainbow’s had, and let forth a sigh of comfort, as every muscle in her body relaxed.
