Chapters Twilight woke up like any other day, groggy; she’d been up all night studying as usual. She went down the stairs and saw Spike still sleeping. She let him sleep; he deserved it for all of the work he did last night. He helped her clean up the Library after all of that research.
The purple mare went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast when she sensed something wrong. She was trying to use her magic to open the fridge, but it was like someone completely severed her magical connection to the objects around her.
She thought nothing of it, she was tired she usually didn’t function well when she was tired.
She continued to cook breakfast, magic free, until Spike came into the room and stopped dead in his tracks.
“Umm... Twilight...?” He looked at her perplexed. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he was awake.
“Oh hey Spike you’re up. I’m cooking breakfast want some? Spike what’s wrong? Are you okay...?” She saw his blank expression and became worried.
"Spike! Spike! Come on, you're scaring me!"
“Maybe I should be the one to ask you that.”
“What are you talking about? Did you not get enough sleep?”
“Umm Twilight have you looked in the mirror lately?”
“No its early and the library doesn’t open for another hour. Why?”
“You might want to go look...” He trailed off to only a whisper that Twilight could barely hear him.
She ran upstairs to the bathroom and had to do a double take. That couldn’t be her; she was a unicorn. Where was her horn? Her beloved horn was gone; instead a pair of Pegasus wings replaced it. She almost fainted, what would she do!
What is the Princess going to think? Am I no longer going to be her student? Twilight was furiously thinking.
Twilight rushed back downstairs and called for Spike.
“Spike we need to figure this out, look for any sort of book that can help us.”
They both poured themselves into research. Pulling all of the books off of the shelves, defeating the purpose of them cleaning yesterday. But alas, they were not able to find anything on a pony that has suddenly switched species.
"Twilight... I can't find anything. What are we going to do? Should we send a letter to the Princess? Spike suggested.
"NO we can't let her know, i might no be able to be her student anymore. We have to find something . I mean there has to be an explanation. This has to have happened before, it can't be only me that is cursed with bad luck!"
"What if we just tell her that you were researching if ponies could suddenly change species, and you were curious if it is really possible. Then you could ask her if there is anything you could do. Well maybe that part would be kind of suspicious." Spike concluded.
"That's a thought Spike, not bad but lets keep looking a little more first."
They searched for hours until they suddenly heard fierce knocking on the door.
“TWIIILIGHTT!!!!!!” she recognized the voice, it was one of her best friends, Rarity.
Twilight rushed to the door hoping for the best, however what she sees is a horrible mess.
All of her friends were there except that they were all different. They, as her, have all mysteriously switched species. Rarity and Applejack were Pegasai, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were unicorns and Fluttershy was an earth pony.
“TWILIGHT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HORN?” Rarity screamed as she took a look at her new wings.
“Twi what in the hay has happened to my wings? I have a reputation to uphold!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“What’s goin on sugarcube, thins ar’ real screwed up ri’ now.” Applejack said.
"WHOA!!! Everypony is different! Twilight we need to figure this out. I'll keep researching." Spike said
"Okay, thank you Spike." The purple pegasus exhaled in relief.
"Well... if its okay with you... i don't really mind that much... i never really used my wings" whispered Fluttershy
"FLUTTERSHY!!!!! This is important! I NEED my wings its like Rainbow Dash equals wings. Rainbow Dash with no wings is like Applejack with no APPLES!!!!!" Rainbow Dash shouted
"Ohh... I'm sorry... I d-didn't mean to upset y-you..." Fluttershy whispered.
"Dash calm down I reckon Twi has n a'nsr fer all this, right Twi?"
“Girls, I’m sorry I have no idea what has happened, but I wi--...... Oh no, Pinkie Pie... is a... unicorn ...” She turned, as every other pony did, to look at Pinkie Pie jumping and hopping around paying no attention to the other ponies.
“GRAB HER!!!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. Who knows what kind of things could happen with Pinkie using magic. Even when she was just an Earth pony, she could barely be contained.
They all rushed towards her but no pony could catch her. Applejack, Rarity, and Twilight had no idea how to use their wings, and Fluttershy and Dash tried to fly but fell flat on their faces due to the lack of their wings.
Pinkie just kept on hopping like nothing was wrong. She stopped, smelled some flowers, and saw her friend running at her.
“Girls, what’s wrong?” Pinkie wondered as she got out of the way and watched her friends get all jumbled up and tangled together. "Silly ponies! It's no time for twister if you haven't noticed we all are different and I'm pretty sure that is not good. Ohmygoshrememberthatonetimewherewewerereallymixedupandwedidn'tknowwhathappenedtous!!!! Oh wait.. That's now. Oh well, this is going to be a great story to tell someday!!"
“Pinkie whatever you do, do not use your horn...” Twilight cautioned her.
“Okie dokie lokie!!!” she exclaimed while she hopped back to the Library.

Pinkie Pie just kept on bouncing until she got into the library. The other ponies watched her perplexed. They had to be extra careful now that Pinkie has magical abilities.
"We're dead now aren't we" Dash said
"Yes, Yes we are." Twilight verified.
"Twilight," Rarity said, "whatever are we going to do now? I mean you've looked through all of your book already and we might want to fix this quick if we don't want Pinkie Pie to... well you no..."
"TWIILIGHTT!!!!" the baby dragon called out at the same time the five ponies heard a deafening CRASH!!!
They ran inside to find Pinkie Pie... and a huge mess. The furniture was everywhere and there was streamers and ballons and confetti all over the place.
"PINKIE WHAT DID YOU DO!!??" Twilight exclaimed.
"Well... i wanted to throw a party for every ones new lives sort of like a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party, but a 'Welcome to our new lives party'. Buutt... i wanted to put theses streamers up but i couldn't reach so i tried to use magic just like you Twilight and then there was a BOOM and everything blew up and then you guys came in and then you asked me what happened and then--"
"Pinkie! Stop. Okay it's alright, just don't do it again. Ever." Twilight gave her a death stare but Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie just smiled back at her.
"Okie dokie lokie!!"
"No Pinkie, do you Pinkie promise?"
"Yup, I promise!!! Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!" Twilight just rolled her eyes
"Twilight I tried to stop her but it was too late. I'm sorry" Spike apologized.
"Don't worry about it Spike... WAIT Spike, remember that book I read about incapacitating ponies magic?"
"Yeah Unfair Advantages 101 ... Here it is" Spike picked up the book and handed it to Twilight. She picked up the table that had been knocked over by Pinkie Pie, and placed the book on top of it and opened it.
"Hhmm... Oh! Here it is, how to incapacitate a unicorns magical abilities for the rest of the day. This is a fun parlor trick that is only ment to play tricks on other ponies, NOT for actual harm . Blah blah blah... could cause mental trauma.... caution...seriously don't use it... Okay it sounds safe!"
"Twi, really. Ar' you gauna use tha' spell o'n lil ol Pinkie Pie?" Applejack rebuked.
"No... Rainbow Dash is."
"WHAT!!! Um... Twilight did you just not see what happened when Pinkie tried to use magic? I know she's Pinkie Pie and all but seriously, I can tell you, this is not going to go well" Dash exclaimed.
"Rainbow Dash... I can honestly tell you that nothing is going to go wrong. As the book says its a fun parlor trick. It can't really do anything bad." Twilight explained.
"Okay, I'll try. But can we do it outside so I don't mess everything up... well mess it up even more?" Rainbow Dash added looking at the mess that was already inflicted upon the Library.
"Okay lets go." Twilight said and lead the ponies out the door. "Pinkie... COME ON!!!"

"Okay Twilight, how do I do this?" Dash was hesitant she had no idea how to use magic, she was a pegasus, she never needed nor had any intrest in magic at all.
They all gathered in the backyard of the Library. Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy were all lined up behind Rainbow Dash and Twilight as she tried to teach her magic.
"Okay Dash, just feel the power coming from your horn and try to focus it into the tip. Now... do you feel it?" Twilight asked
"Yeah... I feel it!!!! Oh my gosh Twilight this is so 20% cooler now!" Dash exclaimed
"Okay focus Dash, focus. Now were just going to start off with a simple levitation spell. Feel the power, focus all of your mind on the power and think hard, tell the stone to move!"
"Wait you just said to focus now your trying to tell me to think? Twilight sometimes you are really confusing."
"Okay sorry, focus on thinking hard, and commanding that stone to move. Come on Dash just a little more you're almost there."
The blue unicorn was really focusing on the stone. She tried with all of her might to force that stone to move. Move rock please move... MOVE! And with that the rock suddenly shot up into the air.
"I DID IT!!!! TWILIGHT I ACTUALLY DID IT!!!" Rainbow exclaimed. A roar of cheers suddenly erupted behind them.
"WHOO!! Way to go Dash. Yer had me quite scared there, but ya'll pulled it out in the end!" Applejack congratulated.
"Marvelous, simply Marvelous." Rarity said
"Yay!! go Dash.... oh if you don't mind me saying that." Fluttershy quietly said.
"Rainbow Dash... I'm quite impressed. Getting a levitation spell that quickly, you have a great talent." Twilight congratulated her.
"Thanks everypony, hey Twi maybe I'm as good as you!" Rainbow Dash joked
"Very funny Dash... Now do you think your ready to try it? You have the basic principle down, now it's just the execution."
"Yeah Twi, I'm ready for anything!"
"Okay, lets get this over with so we can concentrate on more important things... Pinkie would you mind coming over here for a second?" Twilight called out to the pink unicorn as she was sniffing the flowers.
"Hey girls, whatcha doin?"
"Pinkie could you just stand still there for a second please this won't take long." The pink mare complied. She sat down about twenty feet from Rainbow Dash and Twilight.
"Okay now Dash, you have feel the magic in your horn, concentrate and say the spell clearly. Got it?"
"Yeah Twilight don't worry about it i got this."
Rainbow dash closed her eyes and began to focus solely on the spell and the magic now building up at the tip of her horn.
"This might be a trick but this is fun, no more magic for you until the day is DONE!!! !" Rainbow shouted out the spell. Suddenly the red beam of light coming from Dash's horn shot out towards Pinkie Pie. The next thing that happened was so unexpected that even the author of this 'fic didn't see it coming...
The beam of light suddenly stopped just before it hit Pinkie Pie and shot backwards and hit Rainbow Dash. The powerful magic knocked Rainbow Dash right on her flank, and suddenly Pinkie was floating in a sphere of impenetrable magic. She opened her eyes and they were as black as the night sky. She opened her mouth and spoke with a booming voice.
"PONIES. WHY HAVE YOU TRIED TO TAKE AWAY OUR MAGIC?" Pinkie Pie shouted.
"PINKIE!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Twilight yelled right back.
"PINKIE IS NO MORE THIS IS PINKAMENA!!! THE MOST POWERFUL UNICORN IN EXISTENCE!"
"Wha-- What just happened?" Dash looked up suddenly confused. She tried to cast the spell again but her magic wan't working.
"Twilight, I think I cast the spell on myself!"
"HAHA FOOLS YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRIED TO TAKE OUR MAGIC AWAY NOW YOU WILL PAY!!!"
The ponies now were all hudled in fear waiting to find out just what Pinkamena had in store for them.

The ponies had no idea what would be in store for them next. What could Pink-- ahh, I mean Pinkamena have in her crazy screwed up mind that could--
"DELIVERY!!!!" shouted a mailmare. She was a Earth Pony, gray with a yellow mane, and kind of odd eyes.
"DERPY!!! what are you doing here? Wait Twilight wasn't Derpy a pegasus?" Dash questioned.
"Um.. girls I think everypony has swiched species!!!!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Oh! What in whole wide world of Equestria could possibly going wrong here!" Rarity said
"Now I have another huge problem on my hoofs! Oh sweet Celestia what am i going to do!!??" Twilight put her face in her hooves and started mumbling to herself.
"UM DERPY, I'M KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE OF DESTROYING SAID PONIES OVER THERE" Pinkamena pointed to the ponies cowering in fear, "WHO COULD POSSIBLY HAVE A PACKAGE?"
"Oh, sorry. I've been behind schedule all day, although I can't imagine why?"
"Oh yeah it's a mystery." Dash said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"Hey Twilight I have an idea-- WHOOAAA! Pinkie Pie?" Spike suddenly appeared from the back door of the Library. "WHAT HAPPENED??"
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN EQUESTRIA DOES ANYPONY ELSE WANT TO INTERRUPT ME BEFORE I DESTROY THESE PONIES??? ANYPONY AT ALL? GOING ONCE....GOING TWICE..... OKAY THEN."
"OH WAIT!!! I still need to deliver this package!" said Derpy
"OHH MYY GOODNESS DERPY I DID THE WHOLE AUCTION THING WITH THE ONCE AND THE TWICE AND NOPONY ANSWERED!!!! CAN'T I JUST DESTROY THESE PONIES AND GET IT OVER WITH I'M STARVED!!!"
"Oh well thats good Miss... super flying pink pony, because this package is a bright and shinny cupcake! oh but its for Pinkie Pie, there's no Pinkie Pie here. I'll guess i'll come back lat--"
"NO... WAIT... YOU CAN'T DO THIS! IT'S JUST A CUPCAKE CONTROL YOURSELF!!!.....NNOOO" Pinkamena shouted. She suddenly fell down from her spinning orb of magic and hopped over to Derpy to get the cupcake.
"I just love love LOVE cupcakes. I have a motto... no cupcake should go uneaten. Thanks Derpy!"
"No problem just doing my job!"
The five ponies that were once cowering in fear now just stared at Pinkamena... stared at Pinkie... wait who was she now?
"I think its safe to say that It's Pinkie Pie again." said Twilight
"Agreed, Pinkie could never resist a cupcake." Rarity said
Now was there chance, Twilight ran inside of the library to get the one think she knew could stop Pinkie from having another magical outburst: her magic repellent necklace. She used to use it when she was in Celestia's school for Gifted Unicorns. It denied the user the ability to do magic other than simple spells like levitating.
She grabbed the necklace from under her bed and ran back outside, luckily Pinkie wasn't done enjoying her cupcake. She casually walked up to Pinkie Pie not trying to be suspicious.
"Hey Pinkie. Enjoying that cupcake?"
"Yup! I've never had a cupcake that I didn't enjoy!"
Ever so slowly Twilight managed to slide the necklace onto Pinkie Pie's neck. As soon as that necklace was on her, Twilight finally began to relax.
*************Oh can't Pinkie Pie just take that necklace off??' WELL YOU ARE WRONG!!! Ha ha gotcha there. The necklace can only be taken off by the pony who put it on. If that wasn't the case then there would be no story. And if I want to change that later I can If it want because I'm the author! But I won't because then this would get confusing. OKAY BACK TO REALITY!!!!

Pinkie finished her cupcake and hopped back to her friends. Twilight however remained next to Derpy.
"I can't thank you enough Derpy, how can I ever repay you?"
"Oh, you don't need to thank me I'm just a regular old mailpony! Just doing my job. Now excuse me but I must be going I have to deliver a cupcake to Lyra!"
"Umm... Thanks again Derpy!" Twilight shook her head and went back to her friends.
"Hey I'm sorry girls Pinkamena gets cranky when she's hungary. It's never been that bad before though." Pinkie apologized
"It's a'right sugarcube, y'all never had this much magic for' neither." Applejack reassured Pinkie.
"Okay that whole Pinkamena thing just wasted so much time, like what was with that?" Twilight wondered out loud.
"I.. umm.... have no idea but... we should probably... umm.. figure this out soon... Oh, if thats alright with you.." Fluttershy said
"No, your right Fluttershy and I think I know what we have to do..." Twilight looked up at the sky, at Canterlot.
"Oh no Twilight you don't mean..." Spike looked at her. Spike didn't feel disappointed, no, he could never be disappointed with Twilight, but he hoped it would not have to come to this, for Twilights sake...
"Yes Spike. We need to tell the Princess." You could see a single tear that was forming under Twilight's left eye. "I thought that I could handle things, but look what I've done. All of our friends are mixed up, Pinkamena almost killed us!... And now we realized that everypony is different. I can't do this anymore Spike... I'm sorry everypony."
"Oh Twilight," Rarity went and gave Twilight a hug, "We don't blame you, you did everything you could."
"Yeah Twi, don't worry if you do call the Princess, she'll fix everything and we'll just go back to our lives like nothing ever happened!" Dash exclaimed. Well at least somepony had hope.
"Thanks everypony." They all came together for a group hug. "You're right, we'll do this... together!!!!!!

AHH!!! finally Derpy has made her appearance and just in time to save the day! I know everyone keeps saying my grammar sucks... and i'll admit it, it sucks. I can't write properly to save my life, but thats okay, i don't plan on becoming an author... or an english teacher! Thanks again to everypony! ( wow 2 chapters in one day... maybe i should really do some homework)
"Okay girls, I might as well get this over with..." Twilight said
"Whatever happens Twi, we'll be here for you!" Rainbow Dash pronounced.
"Most definitely!" exclaimed Rarity
"Together for ever!!" Pinkie Pie said
"Forever" both Fluttershy and Applejack said.
They all went back into the Library and gathered around a table. 'Hmmm.... Spike must have cleaned up' Twilight thought.
"Thanks for cleaning up Spike"
"Oh, your welcome Twilight. It wan't a big deal."
They all wondered the fate of their beloved friend Twilight, what would become of her? Would Princess Celestia still allow her to stay here? Would she have to move back to Canterlot? Spike grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill then went to go stand next to Twilight.
"I'm ready when you are Twilight."
She began:
Dear Princess Celestia,
I know that you have always had faith in me and believed that I could accomplish anything. You are the best mentor a student could ever have, one that I don't deserve. I'm sorry to tell you this but Princess... I have failed.
I have tried everything in my power to fix this but there is nothing I can possibly do. I no not have any idea how or why this has happened but all of the residents in ponyville have suddenly switched species. I am now a pegasus, along with Applejack and Rarity. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are unicorns (don't worry we took care of that problem), and Fluttershy is an Earth Pony.
I have tried my best but my best is not good enough. This is why I am asking you to help us. I understand that you are very busy, but ponyville needs your help. Even if it means I can no longer be your student anymore, I would trade that to just get my friends back.

"NO TWILIGHT YOU CAN'T!!" Rarity shouted, "Don't say you would give up your mentor just for us!"
"Yeah Twi, ah just can't let y'all do that fer us." Applejack said.
"No, no i have to if it means you can all go back to normal. I know you would do it for me too.... Okay Spike here you go." She handed the letter to Spike who went to the window to send the letter.
"Now what do we do?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"We wait for the princess to get the letter and see what she will decide."
They must have waited for hours.... but in reality it was more like ten minutes. There was a light knock on the door and Twilight went to go answer it. She slowly opened the door and who was there none other than.... DERPY!!!!
"Derpy? What are you doing here?"
"Oh I just wanted to say hi! Oh and I wanted to check out a book."
"Sure, What book?"
"Oh did I say book? I meant cupcake."
"Um.. but you said... never mind. Um.. Sorry Derpy but we don't have any cupcakes maybe you should go to Sugarcube Corner."
"Oh I ment to give you this package today but then I gave Pinkie Pie a cupcake but that was suppose to go to Lyra, so I just thought maybe you still had it. Well if you don't have one do you have any muffins...MMMMM Muffins!!!"
"Didn't you see Pinkie eat it? Ok well I'm sorry we don't have a cupcake or muffins but thanks for the packgage! See you later Derpy!"
"OK BYEE!!!!"
Twilight closed the door and went back to her friends. She opened the package and found a vest. It was one of those racing vests with holes so Pegasus wings could go through them. She checked the package again... yup it was for her, but who would give her this? It had to be someone who knew this was going to happen.
"Um Twilight... who gave you a racing vest?" Rainbow Dash asked trying to hold back laughter.
"I don't know, it doesn't have a return address."
All of the ponies stopped dead in their tracks when they heard a faint familiar laugh.
"WELL IT TOOK HER LONG ENOUGH!!!" a voice boomed.
"H-Hello, who's there?" Fluttershy whispered. They suddenly heard faint hoofsteps behind them and they all quickly turned around. This time it was not Derpy, but it was PRINCESS CELESTIA!!!
"Hello my little ponies, Twilight I see you go my gift."
"It was you.. but.. but why?" Twilight questioned her mentor
"Oh Twilight you can't really imagine that six ponies could possibly just change species overnight!"
"Well. I... um.. Wait what about all of the other townspeople?"
"Whatever do you mean?"
"We saw Derpy and she wasn't a pegasus anymore."
"Oh really I only ment to change you six... hmmm... O well that is easily fixed."
"Y-You mean... YOU DID THIS!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH TODAY???"
"Oh Twilight my dear and faithful student... YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK ON YOUR FACES HAHAHA IT WAS PRICELESS!!!!"
Twilight just looked at the Princess. Twilight's eye was doing that twitchy thing it does when she is about to lose it.
"Um Princess, may ah ask y'all why ya did such a thing?"
"Oh come now a princess needs some fun once in a while, but it took that mailpony forever to get you that package. I didn't mean for you to have to wait this long, but I needed you to get that package first."
"Um. Twi are you okay?" Dash asked
"Oh come now Twilight I can play a trick on my best student once in a while can't I?"
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW CRAZY I HAVE GOTTEN FROM THIS... THIS PRANK???"
"Oh Twilight you need to learn to lighten up a little."
"You got to admit Twilight now that I think about it it's kind of funny." Dash said
"Okay i just want everything to go back to normal."
"Alright." The Princess then lowered her head, and her horn began to glow. There was a blinding light that cover the entire Library. When the light faded away twilight and her friends were back to normal
"I'm going to bed, goodnight. Oh and Princess I'm sorry I yelled at you that was inexcusable."
"Don't fret my student go you need your rest."
Epilogue
"OH MAN WE GOT HER GOOD!!!!" Dash explained.
The princess began to chuckle. "Yes i suppose we did. Thank you again Spike for suggesting this, I needed a good laugh, and Twilight needed to lighten up."
"No problem Princess, I had fun watching it!"
"All of you ponies were marvelous, you all should have goten cutie marks in acting! Especially you Pinkie Pie I mean that whole Pinkamena skit was just icing on the cake!"
"OOOHHH CAKE!!!"
All of the ponies shared a good laugh.
"Alas, I must be on my way. Thank you ponies for showing me some fun, we should do this again. However, I think Twilight needs time to recover."
"That would be marvelous." Rarity explained
"Goodbye my little ponies, until next time!"
"Goodbye!!!" They all watched as the white alicorn flew off into the Sunset.

I know this chapter was kind of long, but i din't want to put the epilogue as another chapter because it was to short. This story has been really fun to write. I just want to thank all of the people who have supported me in writing my first FIMFiction!!!!! I don't know if there wil be a backstory for the Celestia thing but mabey...
