after a while the party ended and Dave continued his rant with Twilight on there way back to the library. “everything was hooked up right and we even checked 10 times in a row so it couldent have been that.” Twilight kept thinking. “maby it was the way you built it. a circle type base is sometimes unstable.” he nodded. “you may be right about that but when i turned to look at it it was sparking so it must have been one of the wires.” they both nodded and kept talking about it when they got to the library. “you can stay her for the night if you need to.” he thought then nodded. “that would be helpful thanks.” she smiled and went up stares. he looked around at all the books and started reading them. books about creatures, legends, myths, how clouds are made, the everfree forest. “everfree forest?” he thought as he kept reading. “a castle in the middle hmm. interesting.” he kept reading the books until he read every book in the library. “i guess i should get some sleep then.” he layed down and fell to sleep quickly after a long day.

he woke up to the smell of soup cooking over a fire. he sat up and noticed a pillow and blanket had been placed where he had been sleeping. “hmm.” he yawned and got up. he looked around. he sighed in relief when when he saw he had put all the books back and organized them. he walked into the room the smell had been coming from to see Spike cooking soup and three plates with sandwiches on them. “Morning Dave.” he sed looking at him. “sleep well?” Dave nodded. “Twilight still sleeping?” Spike nodded. “ya she was up most the night thinking.” Dave sighed. “i use to stay up weeks in a row conducting experiments and all that.” he sed as he finished his sandwich when he heard a knock on the door. “i got it Spike.” Dave walked over to the front door and opened it to see a large pony with wings, a horn, and a long flowing mane with mixed colors. “.....can i help you?” he asked with a raised eye-brow. “um yes is Twilight Sparkle here?” he nodded. “but she’s asleep right now. but knowing her she’l be up in a few moments. come on in.” the large pony smiled and followed him. “so whats your name?” she asked looking at dave read threw a book. “the names Dave. and you?” he dident look away from the book. “my name is Princess Celestia.” he looked up at her from the book. “oh? what brings you here?” she smiled. “well Twilight sent me a letter saying there was a new pony in town and had some amazing abilities so i decided to come for a visit.” ya a visit he thought. she just wants to see if im a threat. “well i hope im not one to disappoint.” she looked at him. “its you?” he shrugged. “im the only one who showed up recently and i can supposably read a face and use the info i gather to my own ability.” he looked back at her and saw she had a amazed face on. “well, thats fascinating!” she smiled. “thank you.” soon they heard hoof-steps up a floor. “that must be her.” Dave mumbled. Celestia nodded as Twilight came down the stares moments later. “Princess Celestia! i dident know you were coming! i would have cleaned up and-” the princess put her hoof up. “Twilight its alright. and besides this place is surprisingly clean.” Twilight looked around. “your right. Dave did you clean up.” he nodded. “ya, as a thank you for letting me stay here.” he smiled. the princess looked at Dave. “so can you prove to-” he looked at her. “to you that i can do what i say i can? i’ll try my best too.” the princess looked surprised. “to be honest you seem to be a bit jumpy ever sines you have met me. i noticed when i answered the door you looked almost dissapointed. and when i told you it was me that showed up recently you seemed to grow in defense to what i sed. you put on a harder face to read and too my surprise you havent noticed that you are flouting a foot of the ground.” the princess looked down in shock. “w-what? h-how?” he looked at her. “im full of surprises and iv been finding them out one by one ever sines i showed up.” he smiled. “and friendship is the only kind of powerful magic.” the princess and Twilight both looked speechless at what he had sed and done. the princess was set back down and she sighed. “so you are very powerful and you can read a ponys mind just by looking at there face.” she giggled. “thats amazing! how do you do that?” he shrugged. “i dont know. iv been able to do it ever sines i was a kid.” again they both looked speechless. he looked around. “....what?”
