[P]-A Look at History

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together

"Right... right... Then time went on, the country got renamed a couple of names over time... Where's the part about the 18th century?"

But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful

"Conflict between daytime and nighttime, as well as maybe attention problems in general maybe, I remember all this... At least I'm getting there..."

The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one's heart

"Hmm... I guess I could start here."

was nearing her boundaries.

Around the same time, tensions were rising between Braytain and her colonies. The younger, who had sympathized with the colonies earlier,

"During her appointment as War Minister in an earlier war, I remember that, too."

understood their plight about feeling unequal and under-appreciated. Despite her attempts to better their well-being, Parliament ignored her input and treatment of the colonies continued on as it had.

"I suppose I could skip forward a couple more pages..."

The colonies themselves eventually grew restless of Braytish rule, and thus began a rebellion.

"Should be somewhere on the next few pages..."

The younger sister decided to cross the Antlertic Ocean once open war broke out in 1776. She was well-recieved in the colonies due to her sympathetic perspective of them in previous years.

Traveling to the colonies was both due to political views as well as personal motives, one of such was to get away from the elder. However, this obviously incited hostile reactions by the elder sister. The younger sister was declared a traitor, and reluctantly, the elder sister had to go to war. The war was no longer just a fight between Braytain and its colonies, but also between the two siblings of the crown.

With the younger sister, strong-willed and aggravated towards the elder sister like the colonists around her, fostering the progression of new political ideas, the colonies soon turned their fight into a war for independence. The colonies had formally declared themselves independent on July 4, 1776.

"... July 4th, 1776? July 4th? That's a little more than a month from now! And that means it's a little more than a month for Amareica's 150th anniversary of independence from Equland!"
