Our Inner Ponies 3: A New Villain

Epilogue

Previous Chapter

I walked down the straight line, feeling confident as ever. I couldn't hide my smile, which was practically covering my whole entire face. I climbed the three steps by flutter onto the steady foundation with my new Pegasus wings. Since I was the one who had agreed to the new pony life, I was the one who got to choose the appearances. I now had a light tan coat, a shoulder-length black mane, and a cutie mark I thought was supposed to represent creativity. Yet appearances was the last thing on my mind as I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for my scratchy veil to be thrown across my head. Once I felt the movement, I opened my eyes, smiling until my cheeks burned. I let out a horrified gasp when I found myself facing at a half human, half bug creature. And the thing had Kayleigh's face!

"Pucker up, buttercup!" she snarled, a thick green slime escaping her mouth.

"AHH!" I screamed.

* * *

"AHH!"

"Zaria, will you keep your voice down? You'll do fine, okay?"

"Maya, do you realize how challenging this whole event is for me?"

"Dude! It's been, like, a couple of weeks and you're already scared? Man up! Or, Pegasus up or somethin' like that." I rolled my eyes at the corny joke and flexed my cyan wings against my back.

I wasn't kidding when I said I got to choose my appearance; Maya's was different, though. She had a brown coat, a black curly mane that flowed past her shoulders, and a cutie mark with a book and quill on her flank. I may as well say that she had chosen to be a unicorn unlike moi. Anyway, I was beyond scared, and I seriously wasn't ready for this opportunity.

"Zaria, look at me," Maya demanded, using her magic to turn my head when I didn't do as she said. "It's okay. I'll always be by your side. Anything you need, anything you want, I'll happily obey your commands." I gave a tiny smile, my wings fidgeting nonstop.

"Promise?"

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!" Maya vowed before giving me a tight hug. "And you can't break a Pinkie Promise, can you? Oh! That's your cue, go!" I took a deep breath and faced the wooden doors before me. Maya tugged the obnoxious cloth over my eyes with her teeth and gently pushed me forward.

"I've got your back," she hissed. "Step, step, turn a little—whoa careful! Okay, here we go." In front of the cloth covering my eyes, I could see the double doors open on command of Celestia's magic. I took another deep breath as Maya and I walked in a straight line, casting mini glances at the audience surrounding us.

I let my wings carry me up the steps of the podium and squeezed my eyes tight when the veil was lifted. I slowly opened one eye, expecting to see the same hideous creature in my daydream, but all I saw was a single ice blue eye. Relaxing, I opened the other one and shifted uncomfortably in my wedding dress Rarity designed for me. She's such a generous friend.

"Nervous?" Lucky hissed, looking really handsome in his tux.

"I'm just glad I'm not facing an ugly half human half bug creature," I admitted. Then the wedding was on. I'm not even going to bore you guys about the stuff Celestia said for the ceremony to work, so let me just skip to the "I do's," but minus the whole "in sickness and in health" stuff.

"LuckyBlitz, do you take Zaria to be your lawfully wedded wife, as long as you both shall live?" the princess asked, and Lucky responded with a firm "I do." Celestia turned to me.

"Zaria, do you take LuckyBlitz to be your lawfully wedded husband, as long as you both shall live?" I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. I was starting to have second thoughts about this...

"Zaria?" Celestia asked when a good four minutes passed. "Do you?" Of course I did, but nothing was coming out!

"I object!" some voice cried from the audience, causing a storm of gasps and murmurs to spread. Someone from the back row stood up, and I could not believe my eyes.

"Hey, I thought we got rid of you!" Rainbow cried, pointing her hoof at a, yes, half bug and half human Kayleigh.

"No one can kill the most powerful villain to have ever ruled Ponyville and—"

"Yeah yeah, blah blah blah," Maya interrupted as she angrily trapped Kayleigh in a force field. "Sorry about that guys. Continue on." As Kayleigh demanded to be set free, I turned to look at Lucky. His eyes were expecting me to say something; practically pleading for me to say yes.

"Well?" literally the entire room called out, making me look at the floor.

"I—I do," I squeaked. Then, in a loud voice, "I do!" The room burst into applause and, unbelievably, the trapped Kayleigh in Maya's bubble exploded into millions of pieces of confetti that rained down on the kissing me and Lucky.

"Aww, no fair Maya!" Pinkie complained, pulling her party canon from out of nowhere. "I was gonna do that!" I had to laugh as me and Lucky headed down the aisle. I had no idea that saving the world could result in a marriage a few weeks later.

I actually had to thank Kayleigh for all of this, because if she hadn't gone all demon on Ponyville and my world, I never would've met Lucky. So far, life was good. What could possibly be better than that?

THE END

Author's Note

Sorry about my back and forth choice for Maya. She'll remain a unicorn!

P.S. Don't badger me if I got the wedding thing wrong. Please? :)
