//-------------------------------------------------------// One-Shot Collection -by Firebawl- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Luna and the Pigeon //-------------------------------------------------------// Luna and the Pigeon Luna was lounging in her den, tinkering with her toaster. If she set it to 5, the toast came out burned. If she set it to 1, the toast was just warm bread. She liked neither of these things. In order to solve this perplexing conundrum, she pondered it for a moment. Luna then proceeded to chuck the device out of the fifth-story window. She then decided to see if the curtains could talk, again. Luna started a conversation about bananas and being launched to the moon. The curtains were uninterested about that subject. Luna started to play with a piece of cereal she found on the floor. She pushed it back and forth, between each hoof. She was bored, and she knew this feeling all too well. Fortunately for her, a scroll materialized in front of her is a wisp of green smoke. Luna opened the message and began to read. Dear Luna, I think you will enjoy the pet I got you. Something called a pigeon. They are quite amusing. Your Dear Sister, Tia Suddenly, another form appeared in front of her, but this was more interesting. It moved. Luna studied it. It studied Luna. Both quietly observed each other for a while. Luna's curiosity got the best of her, and she tapped the "pigeon" with the tip of her hoof. It jumped and flapped around for a moment, but quickly settled down. The creature then proceeded to investigate the room. It found one of Luna's socks, and stuck its head in. When it the stood up, the piece of clothing got stuck on it. The bird waddled around for a minute, clearly puzzled with the strange piece of cloth. Luna pitied it and removed the sock. It then stared at her some more. In a few seconds it returned to exploring Luna'a suite. It found the piece of cereal and started to nibble on it. Luna didn't feel like throwing this thing out the window. She didn't know where things went when she threw them out of the window. She asked to pigeon. It cooed. She didn't know what coo meant, but then again, she didn't know what many things meant. Equestria had changed since Luna had been exiled. Maybe coo was some new term all the ponies used now. Now that she had somepony to talk to, she was releasing all of her burning questions. Every answer she got was coo. She then extrapolated that everything was coo. When all Luna's questions were answered, she wanted to play a game. She asked the pigeon is it wanted to play hide and seek. It cooed. Luna decided that that meant yes. She explained the rules and started counting. When Luna reached ten, she opened her eyes. The pigeon was still standing there. Luna was bored of hide and seek. She thought for a while. Luna then decided that she was going to name the pigeon. After pondering this for a moment, she declared that his name was Captain Toast, or Toast for short. Maybe Toast could be friends with Philomena, Celestia's phoenix. Luna took a piece of parchment and an inkwell from her desk. She started to write a note to Celestia. Dear sister, I thank you for your gift. I have decided to name him Captain Toast. I was thinking about having a celebration for him. Maybe Philomena and Toast could be friends, also. Tell me a day that might work for his party, and please inform that, what was her name, ah, Miss Pinkie Pie. I'm sure she would love to put together the festivities. Many thanks, -Luna Luna informed the guard at her door of the message, and he left quickly to deliver it. //-------------------------------------------------------// Slendershy //-------------------------------------------------------// Slendershy “Fluttershy! It was just a prank! So what, we put chicken in your sandwich. It’s harmless!” Shouted Rainbow.             “No! It’s not harmless! How could you trick me into eating one of my *sniff* friends!” Cried Fluttershy. “Go away! I *sniff* never want to see you again!”             “Wait! Fluttershy! Don’t run!” Yelled Twilight.             “GO AWAY!!! *sniff* I NEVER WANT TO SEE ANY OF YOU EVER AGAIN!!!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I couldn't remember how long I'd been running. I entered the Everfree forest hours ago. How could my friends do something that evil? That poor chicken. Why did it have to die in the first place? Those griffins are terrible, raising livestock and then mercilessly slaughtering them to be sold on the streets of Ponyville! How could one eat something that was living and happy just days ago? Nopony loves me. They were all just pretending to be nice to wait for the right moment, the right time to trick me when I least expected it. I am I loved by nopony. It’s my fault. I hate myself. I hate my life. I stopped at a cliff, deep water and unforgiving shores beneath me. I knew she couldn't swim. But it didn't matter. “Goodbye everypony.” I whispered. I took one last breath of the sweet autumn air, relishing the feeling of the wind lightly blow my mane. I then plunged towards the surface of the lake.  As I was falling, I noticed a weird creature I hadn't seen before on the shore of the lake. Don’t worry friend. You can have my body to eat once it washes up on shore. I reached the water with a soft splash. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fluttershy awoke in a forest clearing, nowhere familiar. She got up and trotted around, investigating her surroundings. On the side of tree was a note. Fluttershy tore it off and read it. I am your friend, pony. The writing was very crude. When she looked up, she saw a creature standing about 10 feet from her, hiding behind a tree. The creature was tall, slender, faceless and wearing a suit. When Fluttershy blinked, it was gone.
