Tentatively, the young filly lowered her aching muzzle to the ground. A shudder rippled through her entire being. She saw the first colour of her life-Red. Her blood. The sores and welts that she had accumulated throughout her lifetime had finally burst, ripped, exploded. She felt no pain. She had become numb to the pain inside and out. She stared down at the rough and ragged rock. All around her identical instruments of torure lay, though different in size and shape, they were all the same to her, just as her and her siblings seemed all the same to their parents. She gave it a solid push, but it remained still. She tried again. Nothing. Mournfully, her watery eyes stared at the faraway pile of rocks. She tried again. Still nothing. Then...
BOOM

The tsunami of bright, bold colour swept her away, the heat burned her skin, her hooves were flailing in vain and all she could see, after the initial wave of colour, was pink.
CRASH.
She landed with a thump, and felt it. And she felt something else too, another feeling, that she couldn't pin down with a name. Gratitude? Joy? Love? the words felt alien to her. Then a light breeze carressed her cheek, and her now rather unruly mop of candyfloss hair was lifted-candyfloss? she began to drool, yet she had no memories of candyfloss, or any other sugary substance.
'I wan't to taste candyfloss.'
Who? What? Where? her head tossed furiously from side to side until she realised-it was her own voice. The jolt had broken down the wall into her vacated cavern of a mind. Thoughts were flying in. Bouncing off the walls and throwing a party. She had so much space to fill. So many memories to make...
'and I will make them.'
She rose rather unsteadily to her feet. Now that she had her senses back, she should be cold, but she wasn't. A flame had been ignited deep within her and was filling her with warmth. She began her slow stumble towards the house-No,that won't do! she scolded herself. And the warmth lifted her up off the ground, like a hot air balloon (I shall go on one of those aswell), and she was soaring through the air. Bounce Bounce Bounce. 'Yes, this is much better!'
She bounced round and round the house, heavy weights now effortlessly lifted. In two laps she had finished off all of the work she would ever have to do on the rock farm. But the warmth was too warm now-less enjoyable all bottled up inside of her. Suddenly some escaped through her mouth-Ha. She did it again-HaHa. Soon she was in fits of giggles, and the warmth filled the air. She had a sudden urge to share the warmth. But how? How to make the others laugh and smile as she did?
She bounded into the old stable. Soon the lights were on and the haystacks arranged like table and chairs-What about balloons? Streamers? Party food? As soon as she thought of it another giggle escaped-and manifested into a large cake. She did it again-A party hat. And again, and again, and again. This energy inside ofher, which now seemed to be a part of her, could do anything. She leapt again-then focused on the warmth, held it in place hovering above the ground. She thought it would be hard, but the warmth seemed happy to oblige. There was just so much of it,and really it wasn't an it, it was her. She controlled it, like her four legs, her tail, her mouth. In a way, like the rest of her body, it tired her, but she had so much energy, for jumping, singin, dancing, stored up for years, that she felt she could go on forever.
