I sat down on the bed and thought for a second, still blushing slightly.

‘If I strengthened my resolve with a few of my minor magical abilities*or didnt pay attention to Applejack so much*, I could prevent another weak moment like earlier’ I think. ‘Plus, with all of this sleeping I’ve been doing, I might actually need more sleep than I expected. I gotta try to think more often.’

I stand up and leave the bedroom, occupied in thought. My stomach changes that. I remember I didn’t eat breakfast yet. I walk downstairs to find Spike patting his slightly distended belly.

“Dang it, Spike! I haven’t eaten yet, and I’m near starving here! Why’d you eat my-” I stop speaking as I follow his claw pointing at my toast and over-easy egg, still on the plate I left on the table.

I grin and chuckle sheepishly. “Sorry I rushed to conclusions, Spike. I’m hungry and I get angry easily when I’m hungry.” I say.

Spike belched. “Perfectly understandable, Mark. Enjoy your breakfast.” He said.

I walked to the table, sat down and devoured what was left of my self-made breakfast after letting Spike and Twilight sample it. I siphoned a little of my energy into my stomach as a mild hunger reducer.

It worked, and I relaxed at the table, leaning my back over the back-rest of the chair, and my feet going as far as they could reach, crossing at the ankles.

I sighed in relaxation and put my hands behind my head. It feels nice to be full from food AND my own energy.

My energy is the second best thing to put in my belly. My favorite things to put in my belly are other people’s energies. It just feels so exotic and unusual compared to my own energy. Yet, I only take others energies with their permission. So don’t judge me until you know me better. And you don’t know me at all. But I digress.

I belched and chuckled.

“Welp, time to see if I can earn some bits.” I announce to nobody in particular.

“Okay, Mark, see ya later.” Spike says.

I stand up, go pony, walk to the door, and open it. “I’m going out to find some work, Twily. See ya later” I shout. I transform to pony as I speak.

I hear an indiscernible noise from upstairs (ahem. . . hint hint. . .). I see Spike roll his eyes out of the corner of my eye. I acknowledge it as a reply, being the oblivious idiot that i am, and close the door behind me. I stretch just outside the door and sigh happily, preparing myself for job searching.

I walk into Ponyville with a purpose, my ethereal red tail flowing behind me like air, and my short, semi-ethereal red mane getting ruffled lightly by the wind, and my coal-black coat warming me in the sunlight. The wind also caused two new sensations I couldn’t pinpoint, but I shrugged it off, because it wasnt significant enough to raise an alarm.

Eventually, I reach Carousel Boutique, the home and workplace of the seamstress, Rarity. I knock on the door and wait for an answer.

‘Some assistance, please, Will?” I ask my third and final personality. ‘I know she is a high class mare. Can you assist my grammar and accent to make me sound more civilized?’

Of course, Mark. You do hold me in your mind as a personality. It is the least I can do. He replies from The Shadow, his accent sounding British.

“Just a minute.” A woman’s voice rings from inside. “I’ll be right with you.”

“Take your time.” I reply in a british accent, thanks to Will.

After a minute, a white-coated mare with a curly purple mane and tail opens the door.

“I am dreadfully sorry for making you wait. Please, come in.” she beckons me inside. “My name is Rarity, and I run the Carousel Boutique, where everything is chic, unique, and tres magnifique.” She says like a TV commercial jingle. It’d be a good jingle.

“A pleasure to meet you, Miss Rarity. I was curious as to the chance of any assistance I can offer as your co-worker in this fine establishment. If not, I would like to acquire some clothing, if you please. Nothing too fancy, just casual wear.” I state my wishes to either get a job here or get some more clothes.

“I am dreadfully sorry, sir. I have no need for a co-worker at the moment.” She says apologetically. Her eyes glint as she continues “I shall begin designing your clothes as soon as I acquire your measurements, though. Strip to your boxers, please, and stand at the podium.”

I blush and stutter, but I comply after a few seconds. After another thirty seconds, I stand in my boxers at the podium and wait for instructions.

Rarity’s horn glows in a billowing blue aura. A tape measure appears and is surrounded by a similar aura.

“Arms out, Mister . . .” she says, inferring that she wants to know my last name.

“Knight, Markus Knight, but you may call me Mark Knight or just Mark.” I say, finishing her hanging command as I raise my arms parallel with the floor.

“Hold that pose, Mr. Knight. This may take some time.” She states.

“Don’t worry your pretty little head over me, Miss Rarity. I shall manage.” I reply.

She giggles at my comment and continues her measurements.

After about an hour, my arms were getting tired, but she was on the final few measurements, jotting down numbers after every pass of the measuring tape.

“There, all finished with the measurements, Mister Knight. You may re-dress yourself. Come back by Thursday, three days from today. I shall be finished by then.” Rarity states.

I thank her and get dressed. A smell assaults my nostrils. A sweet smell. A smell I remember from yesterday’s train ride.

I gulp and hurriedly leave the Boutique after a rushed “Thank you”.

I walk quickly away from the Boutique and plot a mental course to Sugarcube Corner. I rely on the pictures I saw while browsing the internet.

After about ten minutes of walking, I come across the store that looks like a birthday cake with a muffin poking from the top like a little sponge cake spire. I chuckle and enter the confectionary.

As soon as both of my feet hit the floor of the confectionary, my mouth drops in amazement. There are many more candies, cakes, pies, and other sweets than I could consider trying to remember on Earth.

I almost drooled on the floor, but I closed my mouth as a stallion walked out from the back and stood by the counter.

The stallion had a tannish coat with an orange mane and tail. He had small green irises. His cutie mark is of three pastries. I quickly recognized him as Mr. Cake.

“Welcome to Sugarcube corner. Can I get you anything?” he asked me.

I pulled myself out of my trance, and said, “I’m just browsing right now. But thank you.”

I wandered around the shop and examined the baked goods and candies on display, occasionally asking what something was, or if it was a good treat. Mr. Cake happily told me what kind of confection I was looking at, or how it good it tasted.

“Okay, I’ve seen near everything. I guess I’ll have a plain chocolate chip muffin, please and thank you.” I say.

“Okay, that’ll be two bits.” He says. I gulp.

“Sorry, but I’m new around here, and I need work for some bits. Can I put it on a tab?” I ask.

“Sure, why not. Everypony trusts everypony around here.” He replied. “And you needn’t worry about interest. We don’t charge interest on our tabbers. We also may have an opening, but we need to see if you can bake or not.”

“Thank you for the tab, and the job offer. How long will my muffin take?” I asked Mr. Cake.

“I’ll bring it out when it’s ready, Mr. . . .” he says, asking for my last name.

“Knight. Markus Knight. And you are? . . .”I ask.

“Just call me Mr. Cake.” He said.

I hold out my hand to shake his. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Cake. Call me Mark.” I say.

“Nice to meet you too, Mark.” He says as he shakes my hand.

I feel an aura come down the stairs. A bubbly, powerful, and pink aura. I hear the footsteps too. As the aura met the bottom of the stairs, I heard a gasp and someone running back up the stairs. The aura goes upstairs with the pony that just gasped.

Mr. Cake smiles. “That was Pinkie Pie. She is a wild partying pony. She will throw a party for nearly any and all reasons. She probably gasped because you’re new in town. She’s going to throw a party for you later today.” He chuckled. I did too.

I went to a booth and sat down to wait. After a few minutes, my muffin came out on a plate, barely visible heat waves roiling off of the surface of the muffin. It was in the hands who I presumed to be Mrs. Cake.

She has a light blue coat, a pink swirly mane and tail, and big pink irises. Her cutie mark is of three cupcakes with cherries on top.

“Here’s your cupcake, dear. Hope you like it.” She says as she smiles and hands me my cupcake.

“Thank you. What’s your name?” I ask.

“My name’s Mrs. Cake. What’s your name, dear? I’ve never seen you around here before.” She states.

“Markus Knight. Call me either Mark Knight or Mark. And I am new here.” I reply.

“Well, nicetameecha, Mark, but I have goods I have to bake. I hope to see you here again.” She winks at me and walks to the back of the shop from whence she came.

I was confused. ‘Are all the mares in Ponyville thinking of how attractive I am and getting horny, or are their hormones from being in heat affecting them?’ I wonder to myself. ‘Doesn’t really matter, I got a muffin waiting for me!’

I pick up the muffin, only to drop it in pain. It’s really hot!

*derp face*

It’s freshly baked, so what else should I have expected? Definitely not a cold muffin. . .

I noticed a fork on the plate, next to the muffin.

Of course, I was probably expected to use the fork to not burn myself. *re-derp face*

I pick up the fork and spear the muffin lightly. I pull out the small part I had speared and took a cautious bite.

Perfection of baked goods, meet my mouth.

I sighed from the excellence, the chocolate chips adding to the near-blissful feeling coming from my mouth.

Sooner than expected, I had finished the muffin. As per my usual odd self, I ran my teeth over the wax paper that housed the muffin’s foot. As I did so, a folded piece of parchment fell into my lap. I opened it carefully and read it.

“ Dear mystery pony,

I made this muffin especially for you. I am in heat (like most mares in this small town). I put a weak arousal potion in the chocolate chips. My husband hasn’t been fulfilling my needs whenever I go into heat. I would be ecstatic if you were to take my offer of screwing me silly. My husband will never be any the wiser.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Cake.”

I read the note five times over to be sure I wasn’t reading what Hawk’s dirty mind wanted me to read. And I wasn’t imagining things.

Mrs. Cake apparently wasn’t happy with her husband’s . . . abilities . . . and wanted me to help her with her heat. I would have helped her if I wasn’t a virgin.

But I am a virgin, so . . . I’M OUTTA HERE!

I sigh and walk out of the confectionary and place the note in my pocket, still wondering why she chose me and not some other pony that would’ve said yes.

I mentally shake myself and head off to find Sweet Apple Acres.

I pop back into the confectionary and ask Mr. Cake, “Could you direct me to Sweet Apple Acres?”

“Why sure, my boy.” He replies.

*I fast forward my mental tape player to arriving at Sweet Apple Acres*

As the farm enters my view, I realize Applejack won’t recognize me if I came in as a pony, so I return to human. I walk along the fence that signified Sweet Apple Acres, the Apple family’s land. I walk in the gate and follow the rows of trees with my eyes, searching for Big Mac or Applejack.

After a quick scan, I didn’t see any living thing but apple trees. But in the distance, I did see a barn.

‘Might as well check it out’ I ruminate. I walk towards the barn at a relaxed pace.

“Hey there, Mark. How ya doin’?” Applejack asked right behind me. I jumped three feet in the air.

“What . . . was that . . . for?” I ask the orange mare staring at me, breathing heavily from the biggest surprise of my life so far.

Applejack chuckled and said, “Ah saw ya lookin’ at our farm, sugarcube. Ah wanted to see what’d happ’n if Ah jump’d ya.”

I chuckle weakly. “It’s not very nice to do that. And I’m gonna get revenge for that. You know that, right?” I asked the orange farm-mare with the apple cutie mark.

“Maybe Ah shoulda known you’d git yer revenge. Maybe Ah did know. Maybe Ah did knew you’d want revenge, an’ Ah did that on purpose.” She grinned slyly.

I frowned in thought. “I’m gonna think up the best revenge prank in all of Equestria, and you will never expect it” I grin when I finish my statement.

“Errmm, okay. Anyway, Mark, whatcha here for?” she asked.

“I just wanted to see if I could find some work.” I say. “Get me some real muscles”

‘I also want to test my limits as to withstanding her outstanding southern charm.’ I think with a slight frown on my face.

“What’s wrong, Sugarcube? Yer frownin’.” Applejack says.

“Oh . . . umm . . . just . . . thinking. It’s nothing.” I reply hesitantly.

“ohkaaaayyyy. Well you came here fer some work, dincha? Let’s find yah somethin’ to do.” She says.

She walks over to an apple tree, says, “Try this,” and stands facing away from the tree right behind. I was about to ask ‘try what?’ when she executed an obviously powerful spinning roundhouse kick into the tree, her boot heel digging into the bark of the tree. The apples all fall into well-placed tubs around the tree.

“O-okay, I’ll try. I’m pretty sure I can’t do this, though.” I say in a nervous, pathetic voice. I walk over to another tree with apples still hanging on. I visualize my kick in my mind and execute said kick.

You ever feel like explaining something along the lines of this statement to someone? ‘One moment I’m (insert action here) and the next I’m (insert painful reaction here).’ This was my moment.

One moment I was swinging my foot around as I attempted to do a back-spin roundhouse kick to the tree as hard as I could, the next moment I’m lying in the dirt. I must have been launched five feet from the tree.

I cough, all the air ejected from my lungs on the landing. My cough brings copious amounts of dust into my lungs, which made me cough even more. I quickly sat up and continued coughing a dry cough into my shirt sleeve.

Applejack rushed to my side and asked, “You okay, sugarcube?” I blush.

‘God, I’m a sucker for southern girls’ I think before I reply with, “I’m fine. How did I do?”

“You actually got all the apples outta the tree on yer first kick, Mark. Yeh sure yeh ain’t got Earth pony blood in ya?” she asked.

I smirked. “I dunno, you tell me.” I say as I go pony.

Her eyes widen and her jaw drops. “H-how a-are yah a p-p-pony?” she asks me, confused and scared.

Man, I could read her emotions like a book right now; like I could do for anypony else I am close to as good friends, human or . . . well. . . any species with feelings.

“Ask Twilight, I told her. I don’t feel like explaining right now, sorry.” I say, returning to human.

“O-okay, then. Well since yah can buck them apples, I think you got yerself a job here at Sweet Apple Acres.” She says. “But ah don’t think we’ll have any work over the winter, so you’ll need a job fer then.”

We carry the full tubs to the barn after every tree, which was near a half-mile away. The work continues quite uneventfully. Nearly every time I kick a tree, I either:

• fall over, getting my shirt dustier and dustier, or

• lose my balance, swinging my arms around wildly, trying to not tumble to the ground.

And the half-mile felt more like three miles with a full tub in my hands.

After a few rows of apple trees, I began to lag behind Applejack, although I was getting worn-out slower than I would have on Earth. We went through about ten more rows, me falling behind more and more every row I completed.

Eventually, she was a full row ahead of me, and I was about to pass out from exhaustion, having to kick the trees more than once to get all of the apples. I was about to fall asleep as I walked. She must have seen it on my face, because she rushed over and caught me perfectly in her arms as I collapsed.

I came to in what I rapidly realized as Applejack’s bedroom. Applejack was sitting in a chair next to the bed, watching me carefully.

“Good, yer awake. Yeh overworked yerself. Yeh don’t need ta help anymore today. Here’s yer pay, sugarcube” she said monotonously.

“Applejack, what’s up?” I ask, concerned for my new friend. i smell that damned smell again.

‘shit, that smell again. Too many mares ready for a good rutting. . . and from an unready source, too. me. . .’ I think nervously.

“It’s nothin’ sugarcube. Now go an’ enjoy yer well-earned bits.” She said in the same tone as before.

I realize she is probably holding herself back from rutting me right then and there.

“Thanks, AJ. See ya around” I say as I get up *headaches galore, might I add* and leave the home of the Apple family, clutching my temples whenever the headache attacked again. I choose a direction at random once I am outside and walk in that direction.

After about a half-hour of wandering, I find a short path going into the Everfree, and a house is nestled just inside of the forest’s edge.

‘Hmm, must be Fluttershy’s house. I wonder if she’ll accept me sooner if I befriend her little friends.’ I ponder.

I decide to try it and sit on the little bridge spanning the tiny creek that passes by Fluttershy’s house. Eventually, a few of the forest critters got curious enough to get close. I held out my hand. It was weird to me because the squirrel hopped onto my palm and sniffed it. It then turned around and chattered towards the house. Odd . . .

I heard a light, kind voice call, “What? Someone’s here?”

I could tell that was Fluttershy. I smiled in anticipation.

The most beautiful pony*second to nopony but Rarity, but I digress* walked out of the doorway. She saw me, yelped in fear, and hid behind the doorframe, peeking out with one light turquoise eye and a yellow wing-tip. I smile and wave nonchalantly.

“Your wildlife friends are very nice. You must be lucky to live so near to nature with them. And nice to meet you. My name is Markus Knight, but you can call me Mark” I say, hoping she’ll become less shy. I hold my hand out in a handshake. She meeps and hides herself around the doorframe fully.

She slowly reappears and is silent.

“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you. You seem too beautiful and gentle to have anything that bad happen to you.” My smooth side says in an attempt to comfort her.

Not only do I see the one eye, but I now see a light blush on her visible cheek.

“Hello . . .” she says quietly. “My name is Fluttershy. . . It’s nice to meet you, Mark.” I had to strain to hear her speak, but at least I did hear her.

“Fluttershy. What a beautiful name for such a beautiful and shy pegasus.” I say quietly. “It fits you well, Miss Fluttershy.” I see her blush deepen.

I might want to tone it down a bit. . .

“Would you mind stepping outside so I can meet the mare with the beautiful everything?” I ask tenderly.

All she said was “Ummm. . . okay . . .”

She stepped out from behind the doorframe and stood her full height, trying to hide behind her long, pink hair.

Now that I got a better look at her appearance, I gasped at the beauty and cuteness.

“You are beautiful mare, Miss Fluttershy.” I say gently.

“Ummmm . . . Thank you. . . Mark” she mutters quietly.

“Well, if you don’t mind, I’ll be leaving now. See you around Fluttershy” I say.

I turn and walk back towards Ponyville. I stop when I hear Fluttershy’s voice.

“Mark . . . you don’t have to go . . . if you don’t want to . . .” I hear her say to me.

My stomach grumbles loudly, and I hear the same thing happen behind me. I must have lost track of the time.

“Sure, but I can tell we’re both hungry. Tell you what. I’ll make us some lunch. Okay with you?” I say.

“You don’t have to do that . . . if you don’t want to, that is.” She mumbles shyly.

“With your beauty, you could make any stallion make lunch for you, anytime. You just have to tell them to. Don’t second guess yourself. If you are confident and don’t say ‘if you feel like it’ or ‘if you want to’. Just go with your commanding instincts.” I say, advising her on being assertive. I think it might have worked.

“Ummm, okay. I guess I’ll try.” She says and hardens her expression. Her voice is louder and more commanding as she says, “Make me a sandwich, Mark!”

I smile from the cuteness overload. “Yes, Mistress Fluttershy. I’ll get to it right away. What would you like on it?”

“Lilacs and daisies, please.” Her voice is softening already, but she still holds her command.

I walk into her house and step into the kitchen. I seek out the lilacs, daisies, and bread.

I place a lilac and a daisy on a slice of bread in an “X”. I take another lilac and daisy and spread the petals over it. I put the second slice of bread on top of the first. I put it on a little plate and bring it outside for Fluttershy.

“Here you go, Mistress Fluttershy” I say as I hand her the sandwich I made for her.

“Oh, thank you, Mark, for the sandwich and the little bit of assertiveness advice. I took it to heart. Although it’s okay to be shy most of the time. My name is Fluttershy, not Flutterbitch” she says happily and giggles.

“No problem, Mistress Fluttershy. I do what I can to help” I say, still mentally reeling back from her cursing. She blushes slightly from my comment.

“INCOMING!” a tomboyish feminine voice assaults my ears. I feel a heavy weight plough into my chest and I hit the ground quicker than I could blink. I hear cracking, and I presume it to be my ribs breaking. I quickly channel energy to heal them as I lay on the ground, and I heal before the pain inundates me.

I hear some tumbling and a loud, solid thunk, like a skull into a tree or something.

“Oh, Mark, are you okay? I’ll go get some ice.” Fluttershy says and then flies into her house, presumably for ice.

I slowly sit up, groaning from the soreness, and the return of the headache.

“Damn that hurt a bit” I said.

“Sorry about that. You okay?” a blue Pegasus with a messy rainbow mane and tail swim into my vision.

“I guess so. What were you doing?” I say.

“Ehh, I was just practicing some stunts to show the Wonderbolts, and I lost control. Damn birds better watch more where they’re going.” she said.

“By the way, my name is Rainbow Dash, the coolest and fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria, other than the Wonderbolts” she finishes proudly. “What’s your name?”

“Markus Knight, but call me either Mark or Mark Knight,” I reply.

“Well, okay, Mark Knight. Nice ta meet ya. I gotta keep practicing my stunts so I’ll see ya around.” She checks me out quickly before flaring her wings and taking to the sky. I look at her flying away with exasperation

A few seconds later, Fluttershy comes out of her house with a small ice pack.

“I hope you didn’t get hurt too bad. I don’t like it when my friends go to the hospital.” She says.

“Naw, I’m fine. But an icepack would feel nice, thank you” I reply.

She hands me the ice pack, and I lift my shirt. I press the icepack gently onto the growing bruise *which I just couldn’t heal, now or in the past. I just don’t understand how to yet* and gasp at the sudden pain and cold. I then sigh as the cold starts taking effect.

“Ohhh, this helps sooo much!” I exclaim quietly. “Thank you for the icepack, Fluttershy.”

She blushed and said, “It’s no problem, Mark. I don’t want that bruise to bother you all day, especially with you being an Alicorn and all.” she says happily.

‘Alicorn? Is she really- no, am I really an alicorn? I couldn’t be’ I think, my face showing confusion. Fluttershy seemed to ignore it.

My left hand wanders to my forehead and meets with a horn. I gasp at what felt like sensual contact. I quickly drop my hand and reach behind my back.

I brush against the feathers of what I realized were my wings. I pull away quickly again from a similar feeling to the horn, just a different area.

“Excuse my outburst, but you are acting like you didn’t know you were an alicorn, Mark.” Fluttershy commented on my unusual reactions.

“Well, Fluttershy, now that you’ve seen my odd reactions, I guess I could show you this. I’m sorry” I say. I take a few steps back, spread my arms dramatically and transform into my normal human form*with a few magical lighting effects*. Fluttershy’s eyes widen.

“A . . . a human? I thought humans were extinct! This isn’t possible. Neither is the fact that you could use magic, but . . .” she trails off.

“I arrived in Equestria yesterday, right in front of the princesses. I don’t know how I arrived here or why, but I enjoy it here. The only thing I don’t enjoy is being treated like an outcast. All the ponies from Canterlot just glared at me. I’m quite sure Ponyville will glare at me too. I’m just going to go before you treat me like they did.” I say. I transform into dragon form and prepare to take to the sky.

“Wait, Mark. I won’t do that to you. You’re my friend, and appearances don’t matter if you’re friends with somepony.” Fluttershy says, stopping me from leaving. “I could never be that mean anyway.” She adds quietly.

I transform into my alicorn form and turn back to Fluttershy. I smile.

“Thank you, Fluttershy. You made me realize that not all ponies are bad. Thank you again” I say, holding my arms out for a hug. Fluttershy blushes and walks towards me, her arms hanging loosely by her sides. She reaches me, meeps quietly, and walks into my hug.

I sigh from her soft coat rubbing against my coat.

“Thanks to you, I have gained the courage to go full human form in Ponyville” I whisper in her ear, which twitches a bit from the little gusts of my breath.

She leans back a bit and says, “Now that I’ve helped you, you should help me with something? It’s a personal problem, but I trust you enough to help.” She blushes and smiles cutely.

“What do you need help with? I will do anything for you, Fluttershy” I ask, curious as to what she wanted.

Then a sweet, familiar smell assaulted my nostrils for the fourth time in two days.

‘The smell of a mare in heat. I gotta find a place to hide until the town’s mare’s heats pass. . .’ I think. ‘. . . but this mare is . . . different. She is being passive-aggressive, unlike the other mares who just said outright they wanted to screw me without even knowing me*or saying nothing, and letting their body speak for itself*. Fluttershy is asking and she knows me, but not enough for me to accept. I’m sorry Fluttershy’ I think, knowing what she wanted before she even asked.

“Help me sate my heat.” she whispered in my ear.

“I’m sorry, Fluttershy. I’d love to help, but I don’t know you enough and you don’t know me enough.” I say, forlorn that I couldn’t help her.

“I’m not asking you to, Mark. I’m telling you to.” She said in my ear defiantly.

My eyes widen as *what I understand to be as* Fluttershy asserts herself. I look into her eyes, which stare back at mine with a lust I couldn’t compare to anything I’ve ever seen in my life.

“B-but I’m only sixteen. That would be statutory r-rape where I’m from. . .” I trail off.

“Okay, okay. I won’t tell anypony.” She says, nervousness and fear registering most in her voice and aura.

She goes through the motions and I finally smile. “Good. Now I’m outta here. Sorry, Fluttershy. See ya Rainbow, and don’t break that promise!” I say as I walk out the door. It’s dark out, so this is the best time. I pull on my magic and concentrate on the entrance of the Canterlot castle.

I close my eyes. I reopen them to the sight of guardsponies closing on my position outside the castle.

“Stop! You are under arrest for crimes against the country of Equestria.” They yell out to me while running at me, their pikes and swords ready to spear me or slash me to ribbons.

“What? Why? . . . Oh, screw it. I need to talk to Celestia” I exclaim.

I groan, annoyed, and grab them with the little magic I have, using a simple levitation spell. I walk into the castle, the guards floating in tow behind me.

As soon as I enter, more guards surround me, and I am forced to levitate them too. My magic section of my brain feels as if it’s pushing against a now-cracking barrier, but I push on. I go further and further down the corridor, guards appearing at seemingly random intervals.

The pain is nearing the unbearable point, but I keep walking, a grimace being the prominent feature on my face. I finally reach the doors to the princesses’ throne room, the near-30-some guards still being levitated by me.

I open the doors and groan, annoyed. There are twenty more guardsponies in the throne room. I push myself past the breaking point and lift up all of the guards that are in the throne room.

I feel my mind start to fold under the pressure and I force out, “I need to talk with you soon, Celestia” I feel my aura range suddenly increase one-hundred-fold. “But I gotta go for now.” I gasp out.

My arms go spread-eagle. I slowly float into the sky, light flowing from my body like water from a spicket. I slowly rotate in the air like a disco ball.

The magic section of my brain ruptures and magic spread throughout my brain, causing severe pain throughout my body, as well as a hellishly painful migraine.

My magic skills, after the barrier ruptured, increased by tenfold, making me a true necromancer. I no longer felt as much strain as before holding the guards up.

Yet, I now had a problem. All full-fledged necromancers are mostly evil before their first raise after breaking their Juvenile Magic Barrier. I couldn’t help but feel extremely overwhelming spite and hatred for all beings other than myself.

Will must have sensed my darkness increasing because he quickly shoved my mind into the Shadow, took over, and held up the guards with magic, which was the only thing he could really control at the moment other than my body.

Will spoke, his accent prominent in our voice. “I need you to get Mark out of here! He’s just broke his Juvenile Magic Barrier. He is a full-fledged necromancer now. I am an alternate personality of his. Don’t ask, just teleport us far from here, NOW!” He shouted at Celestia.

Her horn lit up, there was a ‘crack’, and I found myself deep in the Everfree Forest, too far to walk back to Ponyville in a day. But I didn’t need to walk. I could run like a werewolf.

I tried to transform, but my overwhelmingly powerful magic prevented such a thing for no apparent reason.

I thought for a second. ‘All the full-fledged necromancers I knew talked of their first ‘raise’ and how hard it was. Maybe that’s why I am empowered like so, because the first raise must be the most difficult.’ I think to myself.

I raised my arm, and channeled my magic through it, directing magic into the ground, where the dead are usually found to be resting. I pump more and more magic*as well as some of the spite and hatred* into the spot I had chosen, hoping my first raise would be successful.

Suddenly, a tremor racked the vicinity, and I guessed it could be felt all the way in Canterlot. The tremor caused a fissure to open right before my eyes, which narrowed in totally unrelated anger.

As I looked into the fissure, the innumerable arms of undead/unholy creatures reached to pull themselves out. I assumed the fissure led to Hell, the mythical world of eternal torture.

I attempted to pull something- no, anything out of the fissure with magic, but it just disintegrated before my magic could pull it out far enough. I realized that the amount of magic I put into raising the dead led to how many dead were actually raised.

I pumped more magic into the fissure, causing another tremor. The tremor then caused the fissure to open wider. Now the fissure was over twenty feet across.

I could feel my magic drying up, so I increased my output of magic, remembering that all magic will be drained from the necromancer on their first raise.

I kept pushing and pushing until I had another estimated ten seconds of magic at this pace. I yelled ferally, trying to stay conscious for the first creature to leave the fissure. At eight seconds left, a lone skeleton had finally grabbed the edge of the fissure.

At five seconds left, his/her torso was out of the fissure.

At two seconds left, his/her ankles were almost out of the fissure.

At the last half second remaining, he/she was finally all the way out, slowly getting to his/her feet.

I groaned and keeled over, unconscious from a lack of internal magic.

-later-

I woke in Canterlot castle, in a gigantic bedroom fit for a king *or in the ponies’ current case, a queen, or maybe a princess. But I digress*.

The first thing I see is the skeleton I summoned, looking as translucent and slow as ever, but clean too, which, as you will all think as well as what I had thought, is odd within itself.

I thought on another topic for a second and realized that a summoned creature will follow the summoner*doing nothing else, might I add* until they get a command from them. And I hadn’t commanded it yet, so I shall do so now.

“Skeleton, return to summon point and go back from whence you came” I say in a commanding tone. The skeleton walks off silently, not even creaking like a typical skeleton would. I sigh in relief. Then I groan in annoyance, realization hitting me like a machete to the stomach.

“Return to me” I say before it leaves the room. It turns slowly and looks at me. It walks back to me and stands there, swaying slightly. “Disintegrate and return to the fissure.”

The skeletons’s bones fell apart and turned to dust, which leave the castle on a light breeze through the door.

I sighed in relief. Then I decided to investigate the room.

It was a very low-light-based room. There wasn’t much to elaborate on for there was nothing in the room but a bed and a dresser. There were no windows.

Out of nowhere, I felt something brush up against my left side. I crane my neck over slowly and my eyes widen.

The pony in the bed next to me was none other than Princess Luna herself.

I yell out in fright and nervousy, the word I exclaim being “Gah!”

As soon as those words have left my lips, I hear snickering.

“Whoever is out there, get in here! NOW!” I growl towards the door.

The door opens and a guard walks in, covering his mouth with a hoof.

“Whose idea was this?” I ask the guard who is on the verge of exploding, both literally and figuratively. My hand lights up with a billowing blood-red aura. “If you say something I don’t like, and I will add you to my army of unholy/undead creatures as a suicide zombie.”

He straightens and takes on a serious, ‘set-in-stone’ façade. “The princess of the day requests your presence, Mark Knight. Follow me.” he walks out of the room and I quickly follow before Luna wakes.

I was too late for that. She had been awake ever since the “gah” but she had faked being asleep. Yet I didn’t know that. . .

-pan camera to Luna-

Luna leans up onto her elbows. She looks around, confused

“Well, that was an interesting way to wake up. Who put him in my bed anyway?” she asked herself, very confused.

-Camera leaves the bedroom and follows me and the guard-

“So, how do you like being a guard?” I ask him.

He clears his throat and replies, “Well, the princesses need protecting, and I can think of no better way to live than protect the leaders of this country. Unfortunately, and fortunately, mind you, there is nopony who really needs beaten senseless around here.”

I look at the camera and say, “Well, it looks like there are more ponies, other than me, who have dark impulses as well”. Cheesy inserted laughter is heard in the background.

We walk towards the throne room, the guard leading the way because I didn’t know where anything is.

Eventually, we do reach the throne room and Princess Celestia is looking at me sternly.

I approach the stairs to the throne and kneel down about five feet away. “I am severely sorry for making you witness my advance to full necromancer. Will you ever forgive me?” I ask.

“Rise, Markus Knight. No need to be concerned. I offer you the job of Ponyville’s protector. Do you accept my offer?” she asks.

I am bewildered. I just literally showed the princess of the day that I was a so-called evil entity with powers to raise the dead. . . And she just offered to make me the protector of Ponyville . . . What is going on here?

“I just lifted all of your guards in the castle into the air before saying I needed to talk with you, and after that, I left the castle to become a full-powered Necromancer. No offense meant here, but are you sure you aren’t crazy?”

She chuckled at that comment. “I’ve wondered that myself, my friend. I actually offered because I sense great magical power in you. You just need to unlock it.” She said.

“Actually, princess, I unlocked my full potential after my first raise of a dead,” I pause, searching for the right word. “. . . creature. I am a full-fledged necromancer now. But I need to keep training, and not just necromancy, but normal, general magic to become more powerful. Practice makes perfect, Princess” I say.

She giggled and I looked at her, asking, “What? What’s so funny?”

“Something you wouldn’t care to know, my friend.” She tittered.

“Oh yeah? Try me!” I reply.

“It’s something I know you haven’t had much practice in” she replied coyly.

“Okay, you got me! I don’t care! I don’t care! Lalalalalalalalalaaaaah!” I said loudly.

“Wait. What’s with the formality? We’re in what age in equestria? As in what century?” I asked Luna.

“We’re in the 19th century, subject.” She replied impatiently.

“Well, why don’t you speak like you live in the 19th century and not the 4th? I can’t make sense of it. . .” I say.

“well, we could try-” she started but I cut her off.

“ah, that! That right there! The royal ‘We’. Does your sister use it?” I ask.

“No, but our-” I cut her off again.

“yeah. No buts. Forget all the things your parents told you how to speak with the royal ‘We’ and talk how you learned to talk yourself. Talk like a teenager, for all I care. Just stop using the royal ‘We’. Every time you use the royal 'We', I will summon a zombie to follow you and remind you over and over. That is my deal. If you do not accept, you will have to live with the fact that no ponies will become friends with you unless you know them well. And I am one of those few. “HOW DARE YOU COMMAND ME? I AM THE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT. I WILL MAKE YOU FEAR THE NIGHT SO MUCH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP FOR A WEEK!” Luna used the Royal Canterlot voice on me at two feet distance. I just weathered it, and smiled.

“There, was that so hard? You didn’t use the royal ‘We’ that time.” I grinned as I spoke.

Luna opened her mouth to say something else, but closed it. She opened it to say something else, but closed her mouth again.

She blushed and scooted a bit closer.

“Lemme guess; heat?” I asked.

She just smiled and scooted closer again.

I quickly disentangled myself from the bed and sprinted out of the room. Right outside the door, I ran into Celestia, who I guess was listening in on our conversation.

I yelped and unconsciously teleported away.

When my eyes recovered from the sudden teleport, I saw I was deep in the Everfree forest. I levitated myself to the treetops and looked at my surroundings.

To the north, there was a rainbow and a few mountains. To the west, more forest. To the east, a lone mountain range, upon which there is a small speck of light. To the south, there is a lone, gigantic mountain. To my southwest, about a half mile away, there is a gigantic gorge. To the northwest, there is a lone mountain at the end of the gorge.

I wanted to get away from the crazy mares-in-heat, so I decided to head straight west. I simply teleported to the spot I had seen on the other side of the gorge.

As soon as my feet made contact with the ground, I felt a pounding headache assault my brain. I fell to the ground and went into the fetal position instantly.

I relied on all the pressure points I knew of to get rid of the headache: the hand point, the wrist point, and the head point. Eventually, after a half hour of alternating between the three pressure points, my headache is finally receded enough for me to walk for a bit.

I stood up sorely, and began walking away from the gorge behind me.

-A good, long time later(and end of the Prologue crap. YAY!)-

I was nearing what seemed to be a small clearing, which I could rely on for making a shelter, as it was beginning to get dark outside.

I walked towards the clearing, but before I could get within the clearing’s perimeter, a rock with a cave inside poked out of the earth. Black, shiny, hole-filled, winged . . . things . . . with luminescent green eyes flew out of it. There had to be at least 150 of them in the whole group. As the last few creatures flew out of the ‘cave’, I had to shift my position as i was feeling uncomfortable.

When I shifted, a creature seemed to change its flight path, and passed right over me by a few feet. It obviously saw me because it flew back around, grabbed me and pulled me into the cave. I was freaking out silently as it flew me further and further into the cave. Eventually it stopped flying, and hefted me over its shoulder, carrying me like a sack of potatoes. I had slowly calmed down over the course of the flight down to this level of the cave.

It walked me towards a big, ornate, yet dark-colored door. “Our Queen will see you now” it said, sounding like the most beautiful woman’s voice I have ever heard.

I said, like an idiot, “Okay . . . “

The door opened and I was tossed inside. Thankfully, I landed on my ass, and not my face. I looked around, rubbing the soreness out of my tush. I was in a huge corridor that had sickly green goop on the walls and ceiling.

“Hello, little pony. My name is Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings, and you will die from giving me all of your love.” A voice said from the other end of the corridor. I looked at myself and saw that my horn and wings had disappeared from my pony body. I sighed.

“There is no way to resist me. I will make sure you are comfortable when you die.” The voice said and I smirked.

“I’m sorry, Queen. I doubt I have any love to give. You cannot take love from me, because I know no pony loves me in return” I say, chuckling.

“We’ll see about that.” The queen said. I felt myself be lifted by a levitation spell. The spell carried me quickly to the far end of the corridor, where the Queen was obviously waiting.

I had closed my eyes during the levitation, as to be surprised by the appearance of the Queen when i was ready.

As I landed on a soft surface with a flump, the Queen asked, “Why are your eyes closed? I command you open your eyes, as to see the one who kills you slowly”

I say, “I closed my eyes to be surprised by your physical appearance. I guessed that with the honorary name of Queen, that your beauty would rival the princesses.” I smirk, still not opening my eyes. “And no. you cannot command me to do anything. I’ll do things of my own free will.”

“Blasted peasant. I will show you what it means to be controlled” Chrysalis says darkly.

The backs of my eyelids brighten and I feel a magical force enter my mind, whispering “Listen to your queen. Listen to your queen. Listen to your queen”

I ignore it and say, “sorry, my Queen. That won’t work on me” I chuckle.

“You don’t know who I am, do you?” I ask, amused.

“just some pony my scouts found infiltrating our perimeter?” she asks, half right.

“Nnnope. Wrong, for the most part. I did infiltrate your perimeter, and by accident no less, but the other part is wrong.” I chuckle. I still haven’t opened my eyes.

“Why do you lead your queen on like this? It will only prolong your suffering.” The Queen said.

“Answer me this first. Have your scouts reported about a new pony by the name of Markus Knight, Markus, or Mark?” I ask, amused again.

“No, why?” the queen sounded interested when she asked that question.

“Before I answer, I need to see what you look like.” I said. I cautiously opened my eyes, and was face-to-face with this sexy body. . .(just ignore the little words that are describing the Queen's appearance, please)

I gulped, my words lost from the black beauty standing above me.

“Erm . . . I-I’m Mark Knight. . . and . . . I’m a human. . . with a few abilities” I said, blushing and stuttering. I transform back into my human form, and Chrysalis gasps.

“A human” she says, her eyes glistening. “So much more capacity for love than a pony. And uncontrollable by any changeling magics.” She licked her lips sultrily with her long, forked tongue. "i do enjoy a challenge"

“What are you doing?” I ask her, chuckling nervously and creeping away from her.

“I’m going to take your love, of course. I did say I was going to do that, didn’t I?” she said seductively.

“Hehehehehe. Eh, no. I won’t give you my Love” I reply, chuckling nervously. She got down on her hands and knees, crawling towards me like a predator stalking its prey.

She pouted and said, “But we need your emotions to survive. Without you, my Hive will collapse . . . plus . . . from what my parents handed down to me as a memory, it seems humans acquired special abilities when they willingly gave love to a Hive Queen, such as myself”

‘I could deny her my love, and possibly be erased from the face of this planet. I could say yes, gain who knows what power, yet be aligned with the Queen, becoming an enemy of Equestria. I could run, but I’ll quickly get caught, and probably executed . . . hmmm, what to say, what to say. . .’ I ponder, wanting to find an answer that’ll please the Queen, but still be in my interest.

‘Aha! I got it. I give them a bit of my love, and accept to be her adviser. I won’t give enough love to gain any powers, because I have enough powers as is. . .’ I think, coming to a sudden realization.

“Queen Chrysalis. I have a proposition for you; I give you love, but only enough to survive. I accept no powers, as I am already quite powerful. I become your adviser, and not a slave. . . That is my proposition. I could just walk away if you say no. if you say yes, I will do all that I promised.”

“I see your logic. . .” she says. She lies on her back and thinks.

After about a half hour of laying there and thinking, she gets back up and says seductively, “I accept your offer. Gimme some love”

I pull the queen into a hug and nuzzle against her, trying to love even more what is already quite pre-loved from her beauty. She gasps and jumps back a bit. She quickly calms and slowly hugs me back. She feels warm, soft, and smooth. Almost like a human body would feel. More or less like a rubber inner tube without the painful chafe when you slide on it when it’s dry. . .

“Just say when you’ve gotten enough love for a month or so, my Queen” I say from right above her soft, fleshy bosom.

‘squee!. . . I can see her cleavage!’ I think excitedly. Boys will be boys, eh? Whatever . . .

She shudders and pushes me away suddenly. “I took too much already. And I don’t want to betray your trust. The amount of love you just gave me will last us over a year on our current diet. Thank you, Human.” She said, blushing.

“How much love exactly did I give you?” I ask, frowning. “Plus, my name is Mark”

I look down the corridor to where a noise had occurred and saw multiple ‘drones’ approach the throne/bed and place many large, 50-gallon containers on the floor at the bottom of the steps, opening them in the process.

The Queen blushes, shudders, arcs her back, and moans loudly. As she does so, a large stream of the green goo I saw on the walls leaves her horn and flows into the thirty-or-so containers, filling them to the brim quickly. As soon as the stream of goo stopped, the containers were moved to the sides of the large corridor, and Chrysalis collapsed onto the bed.

“That isn’t even a quarter of the love you attempted to give me, my dear subject.” She said, gasping, after she recovered from what seemed to be an orgasm. “Where did you acquire all of it?” she asked incredulously.

“I never really loved anybody from where I was from. Everyone sorta treated me like crap . . . it was a living hell. I guess my love had nowhere to go, and it apparently just built up over the years” I say.

She blushed and said, “You must have had it much rougher than I did . . . I’m sorry . . . Mark”

“There is nothing to be sorry about. Without my life being like it was, I would never have been brought here . . . I am happy” I reply. Chrysalis blushed and hugged me again, holding me close.

“Are you taking more love from me?” I ask, suspicious.

“I can only take love from a human if the human gives it to me. I don’t want to take your love right now. Plus we don’t need any more love from you at the moment. . . I want to experience your love. I have never felt love directed at me, Chrysalis. I’ve only felt love directed at who I was imitating. I get quite depressed when I realize the love isn’t actually meant for me. . .” she said sadly, hanging her head. A tear fell from her muzzle and landed on my leg. “But now, you have given me the love I so unknowingly desired . . .” She raised her head, smiled a little and held me closer. “And I thank you for that, Mark Knight”

She suddenly pushed me away again, and said, “Now, we must begin our royal duties. First things first, ‘Hive Court’ and ‘Distribution’.”

‘Sheesh, women and their mood swings. . . I guess I’ll have to live with it . . . forever’ I think as I am pushed away suddenly a second time.

I looked at her, confused, and asked, “’Hive Court’? What’s that?”

“Any Changeling with a complaint about anything in the hive comes to me and tries to convince me to change something about the hive, if it isn’t major. But I always have this small group of changelings that demand we start ponynapping random ponies as Emotional sustenance. You’ll help me shut them up quickly.” She finishes happily.

“Okay, as long as I don’t get physically harmed without my consent, that’s fine. I currently am giving my consent, so I can get into a fight with them if they offend you, my Queen. . . And what is ‘Distribution’?” I ask.

“‘Distribution’ is just giving all my changelings love out of the containers you helped me fill.” She replied.

“Simple enough. Bring in the complaints.” I say, readying myself for problems.

The complaints of the changelings that were brought before us were mediocre at best. A changeling doesn’t like their neighbor’s habits*they probably all do the same thing at their home, though*, the changeling’s assigned family unit doesn’t believe they have enough Emotion to survive the month*doubtful since they all get the same amount of Emotion as all the others do, plus this Hive now has an abundance of it from me*, and, finally, the group that deemed ponynapping ponies as an alternative to stealing Emotion in secret*I finally meet the idiots*.

“We don’t want the ponies of Equestria to be able to cut off our already-limited supply of Emotion if they catch us. The Canterlot invasion proved that stealing from the shadows of a guise isn’t productive enough to give us enough Emotion to survive. We must resort to Ponynapping!” The leader of the group explained, as I was hidden behind the headboard of the bed.

“Iron Skull, I have something I want to show you.” Chrysalis said. She pointed out the 29 full containers of my donated Emotion.

“Iron Skull, do you know what that is?” Chrysalis asked the Changeling too cheerily to be real happiness.

“Hate collected from after the failed Invasion of Canterlot? Considering how angered the Princesses were, and how long it’s been since then, it makes perfect sense.” Iron Skull said, smirking.

“Love, Iron Skull. Love. We now have a nearly unlimited source of love” Chrysalis replied, annoyed beyond measure. I wished I could see the bewildered look on that damned Changeling’s face.

“What?! Love?! Where did you get this, my Queen?!” Iron asked, bewildered.

“Mark, you can come out now.” Chrysalis says to me. I climb out from behind the headboard*it was actually quite comfortable in there, oddly enough*, and sit next to Chrysalis on the bed. I felt like being an ass, so I tried to look like a changeling at that moment.

It took a good few minutes for the transformation to complete while I was behind the headboard, but it’ll all pay off in the end.

Chrysalis glanced at me, did a double take, and whispered, “Mark? What are you doing?!”

I simply replied in a whisper, “Play along. It’ll be a good laugh.” I stepped forward, and waited for Iron to talk.

“How is another changeling going to help us get Emotion?” Iron asked, chuckling.

“I am a rare breed of Changeling. I can . . . give off. . . Emotion.” I say, smirking at Iron. “Unlike you idiots standing before me.” I heard Chrysalis snicker behind me.

Iron’s eyes bulged, and his face puffed up immediately. “You- . . . you dare call us ‘idiots’? We are important Changeling Warriors. We will not stand for this insolence.” He said, highly offended.

“No, you’ll fall for it.” I reply cheerily, knocking their legs out of from under them with an arc-burst of magic.

They all fell to the floor, causing good, solid thumps when they landed flat on their faces.

“I told ya so, you bastards” I say, grinning from ear to ear. “Now, are you going to stop requesting the idea ponynapping ponies, or will I have to bust some changeling skulls?”

I turn back into a human and go down the steps to look them in the eyes.

Iron Skull was the first to stand back up, spluttering words like a babbling idiot. “What?! A human?! Impossible! Humans died out centuries ago! How are you here?” he growled.

I answer his questions in the order he asked them with mild disinterest. “A human. . . Yes, a human. . . Not really . . . well, I’m here right now. . . I choose not to ask why things happen, and just live with it.” I reply nonchalantly. “You should too, Iron Skull. They shoulda called ya ‘Stone Head’ though,” I say. He looked shocked.

I chuckle and grin widely at him. He shied away a bit.

“I submit . . . you win this verbal battle . . . will you please stop with the insults?” he asked nervously.

“You submit, eh? I didn’t say this was over, but I’m feeling generous today. Get outta here before I insult you again. . .” I reply in an annoyed tone.

He quickly left the corridor, his goons hot on his heels.

“Okay, now that’s done. Anything else to do?” I ask.

“well, we just need to finish distributing the love you gave us, and then we’ll have the rest of the day to ourselves” she says, ending in a seductive tone.

“I have two things to say. First, no. I want to get to know you better, and you should do the same for me. Second, how do you know it’s daytime or nighttime?” I ask.

“The old, unusable love is applied to the walls, ceiling, and floor in a thin layer, which is somehow absorbed into the rocks, to cause a mild chemical reaction related to the sun’s position. If the sun is there,” she says, pointing up to the cave ceiling. “The glow will be mostly down here” she finishes, pointing down at the floor.

“What you’re saying is this; the old love that can no longer be absorbed is put onto the cave wall, which absorbs it. The love in the rock around us in the cave causes the sun to somehow react, causing the love to make the rock glow on the opposite side of the sun? Interesting. . . You have a 24-hour clock on your hands, eh?” I ask, summing up what Chrysalis just told me.

“Yeah, but we need to reapply the love every month or so, or the old love that has been absorbed into the rock will dissipate, and if that happens, we won’t have a clock for a few days” she said. “It takes time for it to be absorbed into the rock.”

I put on my think face and just sit there for a few minutes. She looks the same as me.

“What are you doing?” she asked me.

“I dunno” I shrug “. . . is there something else we could talk about?” I ask.

“We could talk about each other,” chrysalis said shyly, her cheeks acquiring a light, green blush. Her smile was small and cute as well.

With that cuteness, I couldn’t say no. “Sure, Chryssi. Why not?” I ask.

She giggled (totally OOC, I know, but it’ll make the story better this way) and said, “okay, you first.”

I began the story of my life.

I grew up in a big, bustling city called Detroit, Michigan. Also known as the automobile capitol of the world. It was a rough life, as I lived in the slums most of my life. I was picked on a lot until middle school. I nearly committed suicide at least three times.

My parents were the ones who made my life worthwhile. I was an only child. My parents died when I was 12. A few months after that, I found a note in my parent’s old bedroom that told me I had some necromancer blood in me. I didn’t know what to think, so I tried practicing things that related to necromancy. I was shocked to find out that I was magically inclined, yet just barely enough to lift a small pebble with my magic.

I got myself a job, and paid the bills with some difficulty. Some weeks, I couldn’t even buy food for myself. I couldn’t even eat some days, during middle school. When I reached high school, I could finally get a good-paying job to support myself easier.

In high school, I was the kid who was too soft, too weak to fight, but I at least looked hard enough to not be picked on too much. In simpler terms, I looked like a cross between a jock and a geek.

I kept to myself most of the time in high school. I tried dating, but with my occasional money crunches, dates were usually done at a Taco Bell or a McDonalds. Therefore, most of my girlfriends left me after the first date, saying “you didn’t give me a nice first date, mark.” Or “you’re too poor to afford me”. I just shrugged at them and moved on.

My senior year, an accident happened. I was trying to replace a broken window when I cut myself on it. It was shallow, but it hurt like a motherfucker and bled like a stuck pig. I quickly patched it up and continued with the window replacement.

As I lifted the new window into place, my hand slipped and the whole pane shattered when it hit the ground. Thanks to the muddy spring, I slipped and the broken glass found my face, neck, and upper body. I was more aware of everything at that moment. The glass shards were impacting my chest, neck, and face. The blood vessels and capillaries were being sliced apart, one by one. And finally, the biggest glass shard falling. . . falling. . . and slicing . . . into my carotid artery. The flesh and artery were getting cut perfectly apart by the falling shard of glass. I was dead within five minutes. The last thing I saw from that life before darkness claimed me was my latest ex-girlfriend kneeling next to my body and crying. But this was far from the end. I wandered inhabited planets as a spirit, not knowing when I’ll ever rest.

After a year of wandering, I found a world that was all spirits, and powerful spirits at that. They knew I wanted to live again, and that I wasn’t from this planet. They restored my life to me and allowed me to keep the ability to planet-jump until I found a place I wanted to stay. I wandered as a living planet-jumper for another year afterwards.

That was when a jump was somehow screwed up, and I ended up in Equestria. That is my story up to finding Equestria.

I must have been crying at some part of my story, as my cheeks feel wet and my eyes felt puffy. I unconsciously let out a small sob.

Chrysalis suddenly jumped up and hugged me. “It’s okay, Mark. You’re here and you’re safe now. . . I’ll keep you safe.” She said protectively.

I just sat there and enjoyed her soft bosom pushing against my cheek. I sighed in content.

“Thank you Chryssi . . . I know I’ll be safe here. But I have a question,” I say, pulling away from the hug.

“. . . Do changelings have heat seasons?” I ask nervously. Chrysalis looked confused for a second then laughed.

“What!? That’s what you’re . . . wondering? . . . Oh, you’re serious. . . ” she said, her face going from tear-causing hilarity to business-like seriousness in a second. My face was set in stone, being a perfect poker face.

“Well, I believe we do, but only once a year and it isn’t that powerful. Not even a quarter as powerful as a pony’s heat . . . this is how it is because we only need males when we want to expand our hives. Otherwise, females are the dominant gender in the Hive.” She says. I sigh and slump my shoulders.

“Great, more women- err, mares . . . not that it’s a bad thing, but I don’t think I’ll be a virgin much longer . . . I know I’m not ready for it, though. . .” I say, reserved to my thoughts.

“More mares?! You don’t want to be around me? I thought you gave me your love . . . I thought you loved me for me . . . I could have you executed for treason or doing this to me!” Chrysalis growled at me.

“What? I didn’t mean you, Chryssi! I meant all the mares that I don’t know! Like any female that approaches me and I don’t know them and they don’t know me! That’s what I meant” I say pleadingly.

“Too late, you hurt my feelings! Come back when you feel like revering your Queen.” Chrysalis said, crossing her arms.

“. . . no, I’m not leaving. I’ll die for you in my servitude. I’ll do almost anything for you!” I said, hoping to regain her favor.

“What won’t you do?!” she barked at me.

“erm, well to make a list, I won’t have sex with you yet. That’s about it.” I smile weakly, hoping I’d pleased her with my answer.

“That’s it?!” she laughed scornfully. “Who said you had a choice in the matter?”

I glared at her, pulling my magic to the forefront of my mind. “I’d say I have a choice. Don’t make me leave. I’ll just take my love with me.” I say, smirking. “And if I leave, I’ll tell Celestia of this Hive, and she’ll probably have it wiped out. You don’t want that, do you?”

As I said that threat, I knew I had regained the upper hand.

“You wouldn’t!” she said, shocked and fearful.

“You’ll only be right with that statement if you stay on my good side.” I reply. “And if you agree with my plan, I will help your hive with acquiring emotion when I’m gone.”

“What’s your plan?” she asked suspiciously.

“I will help you get on good relations with Celestia, allowing changelings to stockpile emotions in the cities of Equestria, at Changeling-pony relations buildings. Ponies who volunteer their emotions will willingly give their emotions to you changelings. Another plus of the business relationship between the Hive and the ponies is this; Celestia will give you POWs and death row inmates to drain their emotions dry. But I need your full support with this plan to enact it the way I said, and have Celestia agree with it too.” I explain my plan to the Queen of this Changeling Hive.

“But first, I need to know if changelings can look like humans. Try to change into me.” I order.

She was enveloped in a flash of green fire, but as the fire dissipated, nothing happened. The process was repeated over a course of a minute, changes being attempted every five seconds.

By the end of the last attempt, the queen was weary and the farthest she had gotten was the simplest part of me; my hair style.

I smile and say, “thank you, Chrysalis. I must go see Celestia, to explain this plan to her. If I am not back in two days, assume the worst. . .” I say, shuddering.

“What is the worst I should assume?” Chrysalis asked me, confused.

“Celestia has taken me hostage from her heat craze . . . add a week to my return date if I do not return by the two day deadline.” I say, shuddering in fear.

Chrysalis took on a military attitude. “yes sir. You will not be disappointed.” She says, saluting me.

I return the salute and teleport as close to the castle as my magic levels will let me; which is about a ten walk to the base of the mountain that Canterlot is located on. I am currently at the base of Dragon Mountain, I believe.

I walk towards Ponyville, which is about four miles away in the same direction as Canterlot.

I morph into my wolf form and sprint towards the town, knowing I am heading an Easterly direction.

A good half-hour later, I spot the west side of Ponyville, along with Sweet Apple Acres and the school.

I run to a tree, climb it with a single bound, and hide in the leaves, looking into Ponyville. There are a few forms out there, but, at most, three. . . mares? I think they were mares. . . don’t want to risk an alarm.

Anyway, I needed to get to the train station to the East of Ponyville.

I could either skirt around the south edge of town, and risk running into Fluttershy and her heat. I could skirt around the north side and risk being spotted by hundreds of mares from their back windows. Or I could go straight through town, possibly being mobbed by horny Pegasi, Earth Ponies, and Unicorns going through daily business.

The Pegasi are fast fliers, the unicorns have their spells, and the earth ponies are fast on the ground, so I know that all ponies I spot are now “considered hostile. Do not engage any hostiles!”

‘this is a stealth op, men’ I think to myself as if I was leading a SEAL team. ‘Do not get detected. If our cover is blown, run like hell and do not, I repeat, do NOT engage!’

Thinking like that gives me a good idea, as well as the thought of playing Halo: Reach again someday.

‘Aha! The hologram armor ability is excellent at this moment’ I make a semi-tangible physical representation of myself in pony form and send it out to run like hell through Ponyville. I made sure it was a unicorn-type clone.

Almost as soon as the semi-tangible clone is out of the tree and within Ponyville’s city limits, I hear screams and yells.

“OH, THANK CELESTIA! A STALLION!!!” I hear being shouted throughout the small town. As soon as the echo fades, I see over 150 ponies leave their houses and look around frantically

“THERE HE IS! GET HIM!” the yellers say again. The whole crowd turns and looks at my clone, which is running as fast as I can at max speed.

I see some pony anthros shoot into the sky, and give chase to the clone from the air, obviously pegasi. Other pony anthros’ horns glow, and cast paralysis spells at the clone, obviously Unicorns. Thankfully the clone was also programmed to dodge the spells (from the unicorns) and dive-tackles (from the pegasi) effectively. The Earth pony anthros just run fast and follow almost right on the clone’s heels.

I smile and send him to the South side of town, so I can go around the North side, or straight through the middle of town. The pegasi promptly turn and fly leftwards in hot pursuit. The mob of ground-based ponies round the town hall and disappear from view.

I quickly input an ‘evasion protocol’ into his ‘programming’, and then I fall from the tree into open view. I transform quickly to my Earth pony form as I fall.

I don’t hear any yells, screams or anything of the like when I land on the ground. I look around and see nothing but buildings, trees, and clouds. I walk purposefully in the direction of the Ponyville Library.

Any foreign noise and I immediately dove to the shadows and masked my aura, making myself invisible. It is slow progress, as I walk slowly to conserve my energy for a real chase. I open my mind a little wider to the clone’s awareness.

-Clone’s POV, third person-

He was being chased at a speed that was scary. He was running at over twenty miles per hour, and the earth ponies were keeping easy pace with him.

Every second, he dodged a dive-bombing Pegasus trying to grab him and rape him in the sky. Every other second, he dived out of the trajectory of a paralysis spell. Some spells were close enough to ruffle his hair as they passed by.

He seemed to be nearing the Carousel Boutique. As he neared the Boutique, a voice yelled “Get over here and sate my heat like a gentleman!”

I guessed it was Rarity, as she had just left her Boutique at the exact moment the voice came across the mental link.

The clone ran towards her, expertly dodging the spells cast at him from two directions. When he was about ten feet from Rarity, he jumped, spring-boarded off her shoulders, and climbed onto the highest defendable part of the spire like a boss. He placed small shield spells in the small open spaces around him and made it look like he was taking a breather.

Pegasi flew around the spire like debris in a twister, occasionally tacking the shield. Unicorns fired off spells in waves, the shield barely holding up to their attacks.

He made it look like he was recovered and he suddenly jumped out of the spire, the shield dissipating, as he falls towards the ground. His hard fall ends with a tuck-and-roll style roll, and his horn leaving behind a divot in the ground. He sprinted towards the edge of the Everfree Forest, and ran along the edge, skirting trees and dodging low-hanging branches.

He passed by Fluttershy’s cottage, and through the link came this statement: “LOVE MEEEEEEE!”

The clone turned and ran down the path between Ponyville and Fluttershy’s cottage. He glances back to see a yellow and pink blur flying out of the cottage and barreling straight towards him at shockingly fast speeds.

So fast, actually, that the clone and I both knew the jig was up.

But I then remembered the clone is a unicorn.

The clone teleported right behind Fluttershy’s charge and started running again, being right behind her.

Even though Fluttershy was less than a foot in front of him, she flew over 100 feet away in the second after he teleported behind her.

The clone didn’t care as long as he wasn’t caught. The clone turned back to Ponyville and set its sights on Ponyville Town Hall.

-Marks POV, 1st person-

I went back to looking through my eyes, and saw that I was passing by Sugarcube Corner. I could see the bridge across the stream on the edge of Ponyville.

If I had been paying attention, I would have felt an aura charge and release a spell at me from behind. Thankfully, I heard the spell slice through the air, and dived out of the way as the spell singed my hair from the closeness.

‘That wasn’t a paralysis spell. That was a destructive spell. . .’ I think. I turn around to see a fire-maned, fire-tailed, white-coated, red-eyed pony charging a spell.

“What are you doing here?!” it growled. “Stallions get raped around this time of year. I should kill you for being out in the open!”

I recognize this pony as flaming twilight, with an anthro modification.

“Twilight, wait! It’s me, Mark! Calm down, please!” I say, transforming to human.

Her mane and tail fizzle out and her eyes and coat return to their proper colors.

“Mark?! What are you doing here? You need to hide somewhere!” she whispered loudly at me.

“Wait a second . . . why are you not attempting to rape me or anything?” I ask, easily confused.

“I developed an experimental spell to prevent heat from getting as bad as the mares chasing that one crazy stallion in southern Ponyville” she stated.

I chuckle sheepishly and rub the back of my neck, saying, “That’s actually a distraction so I can get through town without being caught. Pretty innovative, eh?”

She deadpanned, saying, “Just hurry up and get out of here before your spell-”

“HE TELEPORTED! FIND HIM! HE HAS TO BE SOMEWHERE NEARBY!” a yell echoes from our direct south.

“That’s my sign to hustle it outta here!” I say, turning and sprinting away from Twilight.

I mask my aura with a bit of difficulty and continue running, invisible to everything but anti-invisibilty spells.

I finally see the Ponyville Train Station. It’s about a half mile away. I redouble my efforts and sprint to the ticket booth.

“One-way ticket to Canterlot please! And double-time it! I got all of Ponyville’s mares on my tail” I bark at the ticketmaster.

The ticketmaster jumps to the ticket roll and rips one off hurriedly. He passes it under the grate and I grab it without a thought.

I fumble in my pockets for any bits I might have, but the ticketmaster says, “Just go, buddy. I’ll do ya this one favor.” And then he promptly closes the ticket window.

I leap onto the platform and dive into the train’s caboose just as it lurches into movement.

A/N: stuff inside ** are what i thought while i reminisce about in the prologue parts.

Let’s just get this out of the way now. My name is Markus Knight. Call me Mark, though. I am a brony. I am sixteen years old. I practice Wicca. And I have wanted to live in Equestria since I was six. Until I actually arrived in Equestria a week ago. My only best friends are the princesses, the reason being I arrived in the throne room right in front of them. I am currently under the care of the Changeling Queen Chrysalis.

This is the story of my arrival and first week in Equestria.

-One week ago-

I cannot remember what I was doing before I had arrived, but I woke up with my sorry ass sitting on the floor of the Princesses’ throne room. I looked at the ponies around me in a confused manner. The ponies around me, including the princesses were more or less anthropomorphic ponies, so I was a little less bewildered than just seeing regular talking ponies.

I got a good look at the appearances of the princesses as I was high on adrenaline from my fight or flight reflex.

Princess Celestia has a dazzling white coat, with a large pink, purple, green, and blue mane and tail, which both flow in a nonexistent breeze. Her horn was, what I believed to see as, sharpened to a point, and in front of a crown with a single purplish gem in the center. On her feet are gold shoes. Her eyes are a light purple. Her cutie mark is a representation of the sun.

Princess Luna is, simply put, the polar opposite of Celestia. She has a mysterious deep blue coat; her mane and tail are a translucent purple with a dark blue middle with white sparkles to look like stars. Her eyes are a turquoise blue. On Luna’s feet are silver shoes. Her cutie mark is of a crescent moon.

Odd what you can see when you are on an adrenal high. But I digress.

The princesses were highly surprised of my arrival. The looks from the other ponies couldn’t have been any more hateful, though. I got enough glares to last a lifetime. The guards just stood there, not even seeming to react to my arrival, which I believe was odd.

Princess Celestia dismissed the other ponies in the room*but not the guards* by stating, “There will be no more audiences until I have talked with this human.”

My god was her voice calming! And she knew I was a human, too. A little less for me to need to explain to her.

“What is your name, human?” she asked.

“Markus Knight, but call me Mark Knight or Mark.” I replied.

“Well, Mark Knight, you are receiving a great honor. You have been granted an audience, and on such short notice. I am Princess Celestia. The other alicorn you see sitting next to me is my sister, Princess Luna. Enough talking about us. Tell my sister and me about yourself.” The Princess of the Day said.

We first talked about me and what I could remember, which wasn’t really much. I only remembered my name, my being a brony, my practition of Wicca*not in depth of course. Some Wicca stuff is odd even for my world*, and my age. Not the best things to be able to remember, but it was a start.

She talked about: Herself*a bit*, Her sister Luna*a bit*, the few species of ponies in Equestria*not very in depth*, and some of the towns and cities of Equestria*the big ones only*.

Luna just listened to her sister and I converse with each other. I listened to Celestia intently, hoping to learn more than the TV show had shown me, which I did. The things I learned assisted me later in a way I hadn’t expected.

But that is for later to talk about.

Near the end of our talk*which did last a few hours*, Celestia suggested I live with her student, Twilight Sparkle, in Ponyville. I happily yet nervously agreed to do so, since most ponies I saw so far seemed to dislike me and strongly at that.

She then dismissed me to head to Ponyville. As I was nearing the throne room door, I turned.

“What’s the time, Princess Celestia?” I ask.

“About three P.M. You arrived around midday, Mark Knight.” She answered.

“Thanks. See you later.” I reply.

I left the throne room and walked by the pony-people lined up to get an audience with the princesses. They all glared at me. I looked down, hiding my face, and walked quicker.

After a long line of ponies and a longer walk *with a little bit of being lost*, I arrived at the train station. All the ponies around me were still glaring at me like I was public enemy number one.

I walked up to the ticket-master and asked for a ticket to Ponyville.

“The princesses have paid for your trip. At least a monster like you won’t live in Canterlot. Bucking human.” He said spitefully.

I ignored his insult, not really knowing what he actually meant anyway. He handed me the ticket, avoiding physical contact with my hand like I had a deadly disease that could be passed by physical contact.

I walk to the back of the train and settled in the caboose, away from any distractions, annoyances, and hateful ponies. I fell asleep quickly.

About an hour into my nap and the train ride, I felt an aura nearing me as I slept. *It’s a Wicca thing. Don’t ask “why?” or “how?” please.* It didn’t feel like an evil aura, but I didn’t feel like taking any chances. I woke immediately, sat up, and saw a mare that had a light bluish-green coat, a harp cutie mark, and bright yellowish-gold eyes. *Oh, I forgot to note something. These ponies have their cutie marks on the right side of their necks. Hope that helps some.*

I recognized her quickly but said nothing. It was Lyra Heartstrings, the human mythology expert. I sat up and looked at her, feeling my aura burning with fear and, oddly enough, a bit of excitement, similar to what I could sense of her aura.

I sniffed a bit and a sweet, strong smell assaulted my nostrils. My excitement increased slightly.

‘Shit . . .’ I thought reservedly. ‘She must be in heat . . . or she’s really damn horny . . . Definitely not what I need right now.’

In the little light that was able to pass through the small windows, I could see a faint smile, with a seductive hip-swing as she walked slowly nearer. Her yellow eyes glinted occasionally in the low light.

I frowned. “What do you want?”

“Wow, a human.” She said. Her eyes glinted again. “I knew humans existed. I just knew it! I need a sample of your fluids, though . . .” she trailed off, still grinning slightly. “For research, of course” she finished quickly.

“Fluid sample? What kind of fluid sample?” I replied with a question, slightly confused and really nervous, yet already knowing what she wanted.

She rolled her body in a vertical wave, sliding her hands over her body sexily. “A . . . sperm . . . sample” she groaned lustfully.

At that moment, another personality I have, named ‘Hawk’, woke up from a nap in my mind.

Uuuuurrrgghh. Dafuq this thing? And what does it want? I didn’t hear properly what it said it wanted the first time. He said in my mind.

‘She wants . . .’ I gulp as I tell him through thought. ‘My sperm’

Well then, give it to her! If she wants it, you should give it to her. Time for you to get laid. He said with pride. My god, was he a horn-dog, I now remember! *That’s one of his quirks. I guess I forgot about that, like a lot of other things.*

Then, Justin woke up too. Not good.

What the hell is going on here!? I was enjoying a perfectly good nap, when I heard something going on out there. Justin said in my mind, annoyed. He said it in a voice that tells he easily gets angered, which he does.

Hawk explained the situation to him. Justin growled at the end of the short explanation.

But I was focused on the pony trying to rape me at the moment. I was focused on getting out of the train right at this moment. I neared the side door of the caboose and grabbed the handle to open the door.

Suddenly my skin was surrounded by a light blue aura and I was pulled away from the door.

‘Justin, I’m sorry but I need your help right now. Take over, please.’ I plead to him.

Fine, but I’m gonna sleep for a week afterwards. He replied, still annoyed at everybody and nobody in particular.

I felt anger fill my mind and I no longer had control of my body. Justin controlled my body now. I was forced into the area of my mind called “The Shadow”. It is the place all my other personalities stay while I am in control of my body. But my body is under the control of Justin, my easily angered alternate personality, so I waited in The Shadow.

He broke free of the magic with an unholy roar.

Don’t hurt her; we just need to get out of the train quickly. I say to Justin from The Shadow.

‘This better work, Mark.’ he told me.

He opens the door and we are assaulted by wind, a great view of no nearby ground, and trees on the far-below ground. I could see the ground slant away from the train tracks and noted that to Justin.

Slide down the slope. It’ll be fine. I say to Justin.

‘Fine, but I will kill her if the fall doesn’t kill us,’ he replied.

Just jump before she grabs us with her magic again. I say hurriedly.

Justin jumped and slid like a surfer down the steep slope. Two rubber-soled shoes heated up from the speed, and our center of gravity was as low as it can get for stability.

It was a gravel slope, so our descent was faster than I had planned. I know Justin is smart enough to change his approach before we crash into the ground, so I don’t worry. He angled our feet perpendicular to the ground, which was quickly approaching.

We slowed down quite a lot from that action and slid to a perfect stop at the bottom of the slope.

“Easy as pies are square” Justin said jokingly.

He let me retake control and he returned to The Shadow. I checked my shoes for no reason. I sighed.

The tread was gone, and a good quarter-inch from the rubber was missing from the bottom of the shoes.

Using my slight skills as a part necromancer, I magicked my shoes to repair them. At least it worked better than last time I tried to use magic. I still have those scars today.

With another part of me being a Were, I transformed into a werewolf.

I had the fur, the muzzle, the claws, the eyes, and the teeth of a werewolf. Everything else was humanoid because I was not all Were.

I sprinted into the Everfree in the direction I could tell, by smell, was towards Ponyville.

Eventually, I reached the edge of the Everfree and skidded to a stop before the light could strike me. Light would have just made me obvious to the many ponies going about their business in Ponyville.

I went back to human, but thought a second.

‘If I could do my Were just right, I could probably look similar to a pony’ I thought.

I tried to transform to the perfect mix of human and werewolf to look roughly similar a pony. What surprised me was what I actually turned into.

I turned into a pony.

Wait a second, I turned into a pony! I can blend in now! But how did I transform so well and so quickly. It was like . . . like . . .

“Ah, God damn it!” I muttered.

It was more fucking magic. Suddenly, a scroll appeared in front of me with a yellow poof of energy and dropped to my feet. I picked it up and read it.

“ Dear Mark Night,

We noticed your dilemma of the ponies glaring at you. We hope this next spell helps a little. The one downside is that it uses your energy to transform you into a pony. Be cautious of how much you exert yourself.

Sincerely,

The princesses,

Celestia and Luna”

‘Thanks Princesses, perfect timing.’ I think sarcastically. ‘Plus, you got my name wrong.’

But then I feel a small burst of magic flow into me. I knew that this was the spell the princesses had planned. Which means . . .

I could turn into a pony myself. Sweet!

I summon a quill and write on the unused part of the parchment.

“ Dear princesses Luna and Celestia,

Thank you for the spell, but it shall be relatively unnecessary. I have very weak magic abilities in me, surely not as strong as yours. I can shape-shift myself to a small extent. Thanks for the friendly gesture, although it was unnecessary.

P.S. do not reply to this until Twilight sends a scroll of her own. Thank you”

I magicked the scroll to return to the princesses immediately, and walked into the daylight in my self-done pony-fied form.

Ponyville’s ponies didn’t send me looks of hatred, at least. I saw a few confused ponies and more friendly ponies than I probably would have as a human. At least no ponies showed hatred towards me.

I’m quite sure that’ll change though . . .

Anyway, I have to meet Twilight at the library. I take a determined pace, but not too fast to seem eager or nervous.

I arrived at the tree/house/library that Twilight is usually found in. I knocked on the door and Spike, that purple and green little dragon that Twilight has taken care, opened the door with an annoyed look on his face.

“Yes, what do you want?” he asked, slightly annoyed.

“Dude, two things. First, this is a public library, am I right? Second, I have business with Miss Sparkle.” I reply calmly, not letting his slight annoyance bother me.

“Oh, yeah, you got me there. Right this way, Mr. . . .” he said.

“Knight. Mark Knight.” I finish for him.

He gestures with his claw for me to come inside, and says, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Knight. Right this way”

We walked to the upstairs part of the tree house and he gestures to the door. I knock and a feminine bookworm said forcedly, “Just a moment.”

I waited there patiently for her to finish whatever she had been doing. After a minute or so, the door opened with a flushed purple unicorn peeking out the crack between the door and the wall.

“Who is it?” she asked.

“Markus Knight. Call me Mark. The princesses sent me.” I say.

"i hope they sent you a scroll" i mumble under my breath.

Her eyes widen as she gawks at me for a moment. She pulls me into the room and tells spike, “sorry, have to take Mark for a second.” and she shuts the door.

She pushes me to sit on a little chair by the door. “So, you are Mark Knight. The princesses spoke of you in a scroll. I thought you were going to be a human.” She stated. (rely on the cover pic for the mane six's appearances)

“I am a human. I am also a ‘Were’. I can change my bodily appearance, to a degree, as you probably can see.” I say, answering her unasked question. As I speak, I transform myself back into my regular human body.

She frowned. “You can use magic? That is unusual for a human.”

“Well, the Were part of me isn’t human. It is a mix of whatever it is I can change into. But yes, I can also use magic, to a tiny, no, a miniscule degree.” I say, explaining myself. “The only reason I can use magic is because a part of me is necromancer. You do know what a necromancer is, right?”

“A necromancer is a dark mage that summons undead creatures. Of course I know what a necromancer is” she replied. Then she gasped. “You’re a necromancer? You can raise the dead? You can summon zombies, skeletons, demons, and anything else undead or unholy? You are a Dark Mage!” she fired question after question, finishing me off with a hurtful preconception. I put my hand over her mouth.

“Yes, I am a necromancer. No, I cannot raise the dead just yet. No, I can’t even raise a dead ant yet. And I am not evil.” I answer all her questions and reply to her comment. “I am pathetic in my skills. I need proper training or something to become better, and there are no good necromancers in Equestria, are there?” I ask, removing my hand from her mouth.

“No, there aren’t any necromancers in Equestria.” She answers me.

“Good, no competitions necessary then.” I say like it doesn’t matter. “I couldn’t beat a newbie necromancer that wasn’t even trying, because I could never find a good enough trainer to advance my skills.” I sulked.

“Anyway, to get a friendlier subject in the spotlight, I would like you to meet the rest of my friends; Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash.” She glances outside.

“Tomorrow, though. It’s late. Goodnight, Mark.” she leaves the room and walks over to her room, and closes the door behind her after letting Spike in.

I close my door and get into the bed, which is the perfect length for me. It is also a really soft bed. I fall asleep quite quickly

I had no dreams last night. It is odd, because I usually have either really action packed gory dreams or really emotionally moving dreams.

It was a nice way to wake up in the morning, with no dreams making me cry or wake up with adrenaline in my veins full-force. I was in a good mood and few things could ruin it. I looked out the tiny window.

. . . It was still dark out . . . and I forgot to turn off the lamp in the room.

I sat there, silently hating the fact I woke before sunrise. But then I thought for a second.

I woke up because I wasn’t tired anymore, right? I am at “fully rested” on my fatigue level, right?

Right, indeedy! I apparently need less sleep in Equestria than I need on Earth. And I need less sleep than a normal human because of the Were in my soul, and even less because of the necromancer in my soul.

So I sleep . . . about three hours for every . . . eighteen hours awake. Sweet again! But I need to do something, and I couldn’t bring anything with me either. So I willed myself to get very fatigued, and lay down and slept.

I woke to the sound of birds chirping and something sizzling in a pan. It smelled like eggs. . .

It was eggs!

I jumped out of the bed and rushed down the stairs. The sight that met my eyes was Spike cooking eggs in a skillet.

“OHMIGOD I LOVE EGGS!!!!!” I shout at the unsuspecting Spike, who jumped out of his skin like he just shed it; which he actually did shed a layer of skin.

“Mark, you scared the hide off of me, literally. If you keep doing that, I have to start getting more wary of my surroundings.” He said, still flustered and breathing heavily.

“Be quiet! I’m trying to sleep here!” Twilight yelled groggily from what I presumed to be her bedroom. after a pause, she yelled, “Nevermind. Now that I’m awake, I’ll just get up”. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and saw Twilight walk groggily down the stairs, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

“Sorry. Good morning, though, Twily” I say apologetically.

“It’s fine, just don’t do it again. And good morning to you too, Mark.” She said back. “Anyway, let’s eat breakfast and then you can meet my friends.”

Spike flips the eggs onto a plate and walks to the table.

“Do you have any bread to make toast? I have a great idea for an amazing breakfast, but I don’t know if I could do it right. But, it’s better to try and know then not try and wonder.” I say, remembering my favorite egg-related breakfast.

Twilight levitated the bread out of a cupboard and placed it next to the stove. “Here you go, Mark.” She says.

“Can I have some eggs too? It won’t work if I don’t have eggs.” I say. Twilght gets the eggs out of another cupboard and places them next to the bread.

“Thanks” I smile at her. I don’t know if I was seeing things, but I might have glimpsed a blush on her cheeks from my smile.

I crack an egg as carefully as I could and drop it into the pan from a low height.

. . . And . . . Success! The yolk didn’t break!

“Can you toast a slice of bread to a nice golden brown, Spike?” I ask the small dragon.

“Sure” he replies. He walks over and shoots a small, green flame at the toast, turning it a perfect golden brown. He flips the piece of bread over and does the same to the other side of it.

. . . That is a . . . Perfect . . . piece of toast. I nearly tear up from the thought of eating such a perfectly cooked piece of toast.

“Thanks, Spike.” I tell him.

“No prob, Mark. What’s the toast for though?” He asks me.

“You’ll see, Spike” I reply.

“Now, for the moment of extreme difficulty: flipping the egg over without breaking the yolk.” I mumble to myself. I realize something though.

“Twilight, can you flip the egg over, and gently. I don’t want to break the yolk, and knowing me, I probably will.” I say to the purple unicorn.

“Mark, you are really confusing me. Fine, but only because I don’t really have anything else to do” she replied. Her horn was surrounded by a billowing purple aura, which I could feel quite strongly. The egg was surrounded by the same aura shortly afterward.

The egg slowly lifted into the air and flipped over slowly. It lowered back onto the pan, and I inspected the yolk for breakage.

. . . And . . . no breakage! Yesssssss!

I finished making the egg and used the spatula to put the egg on a plate and put the toast on the plate next to the egg.

“This is a great breakfast, to me. You guys should try it.” I say.

“Meh, I guess I’ll try it.” Spike shrugged.

I broke the yolk and dipped the toast in the it. “This is what I had in mind” I said as I handed him the piece of toast “But only one bite, young dragon” I smiled and transformed into my dragon Were as I spoke.

His eyes widened as he took a bite. “By, Celestia! This is the best thing I ever tasted.” He went to dip the toast in the yolk again but I stopped him.

“I said one bite, little dragon.” I said.

“hey, don’t call me-” he starts, but he sees me and his eyes widen again. “yo-you a-are a d-d-d-dragon! How? What? You . . .” he passes out and I chuckle inwardly.

I return to my regular human appearance and proffer the toast and egg yolk to Twilight. “Try some!” I say, reminiscing about a flipnote i saw once. *watching this video is optional but advised to do(focus of video is the time between 5 and 13 seconds)*

She picks up the toast with her magic and dips it in the runny yellow egg yolk.

“Try some!” I repeat.

She takes a bite and her reaction matches Spike’s reaction to the dot. I grin at her amazed appearance.

“Pretty good, huh?” I ask.

“Pretty good? Excellent. No, perfect is an understatement on how good this tastes.” She says wondrously.

Then someone, probably a pony *of course*, knocks on the door.

“Hello, is anypony home?” a southern voice asks.

Obviously, that’s Applejack at the door.

“Come in.” Twilight says in a singsong voice.

Applejack opened the door and walked in, her anthro body being so much more attractive than her pony body. And her pony body was already really attractive.

‘Hmm, mus’ be somethin’ ‘bout them southern girls and their charm’ I think, faking a southern accent in my mind. I smile lightly. Then I realize something.

I am not in pony form. . . Oh shit, not good.

“What’n tha hay is that thang?” Applejack asks, and i sense a measure of venom in her voice, and seeing said venom in her eyes as well.

Twilight speaks before I could think of a reply. “He’s a human. He was sent to ponyville to become friends with anypony and everypony that he can” she says just slowly enough to be convincing. It worked just right. the venom eventually disappeared from her eyes.

“Well, okay, but why does he look so nervous? Is he shy?” Applejack asks Twilight.

“Hold on a sec.” Twilight says. She gestures for me to follow her. I do, not knowing what she wanted.

“What happened out there? Why were you suddenly so shy? You were perfectly fine before she arrived.” She said hushedly after we entered her bedroom.

“Well, I am gonna be perfectly blunt with you. I see her as attractive.” I say with a little bit of confidence.

Twilight grins as if she was about to laugh. “Really? That’s it? That is the reason why you were suddenly so shy?”

“So? I have no confidence when talking to women, unless I am their friend or we have something in common when we meet. I withdraw into shyness otherwise” I say defensively. “You better not laugh, or I’ll . . . I’ll . . .”

“You’ll what, Mark? . . . I won’t laugh, but this isn’t staying a secret. You are going to tell her.” She said like it wasn’t impossible.

“There are more problems than just that. You don’t need to know those problems yet either. And I am NOT telling her I like her” I growl at Twilight.

“Hey, hey, hey. Don’t get so hostile. I was joking. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anypony. I Pinkie promise.” she says.

“Really?” I ask, suddenly introverted and shy again.

“Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” She says while going through Pinkie’s odd ritual of a promise, ending with placing her palm over her eye.

“Thanks, Twily. But if you do break the promise . . .” I say as I summon a necromanced switchblade and spin it in my fingers before snapping it open suddenly. “Pinkie’s rage over a broken Pinkie promise won’t compare to my rage . . .” I let the switch disintegrate from my hand and I leave the bedroom as if nothing had happened. I walk downstairs and sent a little wave at Applejack.

She sent a little wave back, her face showing obvious evidence of confusion.

“What was that all ‘bout?” she asked, still confused at what just happened.

“Oh, Twilight had a random question. It was no big deal.” I said, technically still telling the truth.

“ooohkaaaayyy, well since yer new in town, and I’m sure yer broke, you mind workin’ on mah fam’ly’s farm with us?” she asked. My heart leaped at the question.

I kept a straight face and replied, “Yes, please. I have no money to my name and I would like to have some bits to make a living. Thank you for the offer.” I say gratefully.

She blushed heavier. “good, cuz this applebuck season will be a little rougher than the last few. Ah didn’t catch yer name yet, though, pardner.”

“The name’s Markus Knight, but you can call me Mark or Mark Knight.” I say, proud with my awesome name.

She holds out her hand and I take it in a strong grip, and feel my hand get constricted by a similar force. I wince slightly from the strength of her grip compared to my grip.

“Applejack. Nice ta meetcha Mark. Ah work at Sweet Apple Acres. If ya ever need a job, or just need a few bits, come on over and ah’ll find ya some sorta work.” She says. Her accent, her green eyes, her sparse freckles, and the way she does her mane all combine into an image of pure stunningness, nearly making me mentally melt and collapse to the floor. I hold my upright stance, luckily.

She lets go of my hand and I mumble a quiet “thanks". She leaves and I close the door behind her.

As soon as the door closes, I lose all bodily control and collapse into a tangle of humanoid limbs and a mental puddle.

I was losing consciousness. Damn! I didn’t expect she’d affect me that heavily . . .

The last thing I see is Twilight sprinting down the stairs towards me as blackness takes over my vision.

I wake up in the bed that is the same one I woke up in earlier today. I was tucked in tightly. Twilight was sleeping in a chair next to the bed.

Then I remembered why I passed out.

'God damn it!' I think. 'Why did that sexy southern girl- erm, mare, have to affect me so much?

I pulled the blankets off with a bit of difficulty and got upright, my feet resting on the floor. I sighed and lay my head down on my palms exhaustedly. I lift my head after a few seconds and stand up. My vision spins and swirls, but I stay standing.

I nudge Twilight to wake her up. She slowly does just that, yawning as she opens her eyes.

Her eyes widen to the appearance of me standing over her. She blushes and says, "Please step back a bit, Mark."

I back up a step or two, and she stands up, cracking her back.

“Sorry, Twilight, she had a bigger emotional effect on me than I had thought possible” I apologize to the purple unicorn mare.

“No big deal, just be more careful before speaking to her next time. I won’t be around every time that happens” she replied dryly.

I blush and hide my face shyly, still standing next to the bed.

‘This is gonna be a loooong week’ I remember thinking at that moment.
