When Moonlight falls to Stardust
Chapter I - It Sounds Like An Explosion!
Moonlight Frost zoomed across Ponyville, flapping her wings madly to make up for lost time. "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late! I'm always late! Why am I always la-"
CRASH
Moonlight had just ran into the local library, very near her friend's house, where she would be meeting-- If she made it in time!
The loud crash inside had been a number of books in the library falling off the shelves from the force of Moonlight's impact. It was a shame to see such good literature all over the floor, but Moonlight had things to do and places to be! She quickly took off and raced to her friend's house, as fast as flittable!
Trumpchord was trotting around her room, cleaning last minute. Although she was blind, she could understand her surroundings based on her remaining senses.
She continued cleaning, mainly tidying the clothes and records that were scattered on the floor. A good hostess would never allow her guests to stay somewhere trashy, and she was an excellent hostess.
Trump walked over to her mixer and slid some discs and cds into it, based on her friends' tastes. She set it to a personally-appealing dubstep mix that relaxed her for a bit.
Upon opening her window, she heard the voices of some ponies that she had maybe encountered once or twice entering the library, about three houses down. She took little notice to it and sat waiting for her friends.
Bangle Banter was trotting calmly to her friend's house, humming a tune to the light jingle-jangle of her bracelets. Before long, lyrics were forming in her head.

I hope I get to shake it soon!

As she was passing the town library, she saw a pony exiting it and looking around. Oh. That's the librarian pony. What was her name? I think it was Twilight something...? Bangle couldn't remember. As she was walking away, she could have sworn that she heard her mutter, "The rune spell is almost done..."
Sketch galloped down the road, the paintbrushes and pencils in his saddlebags bouncing up and down and jabbing him in his side. "Ouch! Okay. Ooookay pencils, that's getting a bit personal down there!" He winced as his saddlebags jabbed him, but he continued to get moving to Trumpchord's. He finally reached her door, gasping from the effort it took him to get there. He wouldn't have been late if it wasn't for his brother, Snare.
Sketch knocked, and almost gasped at the speed in which Trump opened the door. He gazed up at the midnight blue mare, who was staring right at him despite her blindness, swallowed hard, and asked if he could come inside.
"Oh, of course, lil' dude! You're just the first one here and I was getting a bit antsy." Trump said, flipping her red-and-black mane and clopping her hooves a bit to demonstrate before stepping out of the way.
"Wow, I thought I would be late." Sketch said, sitting down and pulling out his drawing materials.
"HA! Yeah, right. Here's the thing, Sketchy." Trump said, grinning. "I knew you would be the first one here, bro. You always think that you're late, and come rushing here, and end up showing first."
Sketch blushed a little at this, his vision snapping back to Trump as she kept speaking.
"Moonie is always in a huge rush because she forgets easily, gets distracted, and also runs into things constantly, which makes her last, when she doesn't fly through my window."
"Yeah, that does sound a lot like Moonlight." Sketch giggled, continuing to pull out his drawings.
"Bang-Bang takes her time, but she always stops whenever she gets a fresh set of lyrics to work on."
"Wow. I never noticed that." Sketch said, looking up and tilting his head in slight wonder.
Both ponies gazed at the door as they heard a loud thump. "YO, MOONIE! NOT SO HARD ON THE PINE WOOD!" Trump hollered as she opened the door.
"It's such a pain to-"
"Yeah, yeah, Trump, you tell me every time. 'It's hard to maintain the scent when it mingles with all the others in the air.' You're sounding like a broken record." Moonlight said, walking in.
She didn't have to look at Trump to know that she had rolled her eyes. "Fillyhood friends..." Moonlight sighed, sitting next to Sketch.
"How's the artwork going?" Moonlight asked him, looking over at his drawings.
"Hm? Oh. Good. I get to take my entrance exam for the Canterlot Professional Arts Academy next week... How's the new job at weather patrol?" Sketch asked idly, scribbling on his canvas.
"It sucks! I much preferred it when I lived back in the everfree forest. My treehouse was small and creepy, but it was still home. It still puts me a bit on edge, with so many other ponies around." Moonlight spoke softly, stretching out on the carpet. "Wheeen iiis Baaangle gooonna geeet heeere?" She complained, rolling over to look at the ceiling.
"I hear her now, Moonie." Trump said, raising her hooves to greet her filly friend. "Bang-Bang! Yo! What took you so long?" She asked, stepping out of the way to let Bangle inside.
Bangle sat down and shuffled her hooves in embarrassment. "I, uh, kinda forgot my glasses." She said, smiling nervously.
"Trump, I found a fez in your back yard when I was sketching some-" Sketch broke off when he saw Bangle Banter sitting in the living room.
"Bangle! Hi!" Sketch made a failure slide attempt to get over to where Bangle was, tripping over a rug and landing spread-out on the floor next to her.
"Ouch." Sketch sat up and rubbed his head with a hoof.
Moonlight had been flitting around the room impatiently.
"So, what are we waiting for? It's a party!" She said, landing softly on the technicolor carpet. Sketch noticed her dust off and put on the red fez that he had found in Trump's backyard.
The morning had passed with music and games. It was a little past three o' clock, and everyone was getting ready to go home.
They were expecting to walk home, go to work and school, and do their daily routine with little change, like they often did.
They had never been more wrong.
Bangle was about to win the game of moclopoly that Moonlight had suggested. The only one left was Trump, and all she had to do was roll a three!
"Alright, let's get this over with!" Bangle said, clapping her hooves together.
"You're so sure you'll win." Trumpchord scoffed, rolling her sightless eyes and grinning. She picked up her dice and rolled them.
"What's the number?" Trump asked, sitting back.
"It's a six..." Bangle sighed, grabbing the dice and rolling for herself. She had rolled a seven, mindlessly moving her piece to a part of the game board that she realized, was Trump's!
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Bangle pounded her hooves on the table.
"Yeah." Trump replied, smirking.
"BUT YOU-"
"Yep."
"AND I-"
"Mhm."
Bangle sat there, staring at the game board. She had landed on Trump's boardtrot, and she had to pay her 3,000 bits.
She only had 400 bits.
Bangle pushed over her remaining plastic bits to Trump.
"Okay. Let's all hang out a bit before we go." Bangle said, sliding off of the chair and sitting on a bean-bag near Moonlight and Sketch. Trump followed shortly, sitting on another beanbag.
"So. What are you gonna do tomorrow?" Moonlight asked, looking over to Trump.
Trump wasn't listening. Moonlight noticed her ears twitch, and she was looking out the window, eyes locked on the library.
Something was wrong.
"Trump, what do you hear?"
"It sounds like an explos-"
There was a loud crash, and Moonlight felt the ground rattle. Although nothing else but a few loose objects moved, she was flung to the ground. Her head hit something edged, and then everything went black.
