Chapter 1
“So, now that that is out of the way, do you have any questions?” a beet purple colored mare with a deep pink mane asked. She wore a business type gray woman's suit, and the plaque on her desk read “Mrs. Cheerilee, Dean.”
“I don't think so,” the you reply, sitting across from her at her desk.
“Well then Mr. Dash,” Mrs. Cheerilee said as she rose and walked around the desk, the young man rose as well and met her outstretched hand. “Welcome to collage,” Mrs. Cheerilee said with a smile as you shake hands.
“Thank you,” you say. You and Mrs. Cheerilee leave the office, you walk down the hallway and stop at an office, a pink mare with blue hair working at the desk in the room. Mrs. Cheerilee moved to a filing cabinet and pulled out a folder, after flipping through it she returned to you and held out a golden key.
“Here is the key to your apartment, dorm number three, apartment number 2,” Mrs. Cheerilee says as you take the key from her. It had “D3, A2” imprinted on it. Once again you and Mrs. Cheerilee are on the move, this time you end up outside. Mrs. Cheerilee turns to you and says, “I hope I only see you on campus grounds and not in my office, you're old enough that I don't have to tell you to keep your nose clean, right?”
“Yes ma'am,” you say.
“Good, well I must be off,” she says with a nod towards you. You return the nod and set off the stairs and down a paved path leading to a large fountain in the middle of a large concrete circle platform. You make your way to the fountain and sit on the edge of it, and take in your surroundings. There are many multicolored ponies all around, most in pairs but a few alone. There are four paved paths parting from the concrete platform, the one you just came from lead to the main office building, the one to your left lead to the teaching buildings, the one behind you leads to the apartments and dorms, and the one to your right leads to the entrance.
You stretch you arms above your head and your wings outward, and wait for your “Welcoming Committee.” You take out a lollipop from your pocket to fuel your lollipop addiction. “I got to work on quitting.” You mumble to yourself as you put in your earbuds and play music off your phone.

“So tell us more about your brother, Rainbow,” Twilight said as the six of them left the dorms. It was Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and herself going to meet Rainbow Dash's brother.
“Hmm,” Rainbow hummed as she tapped a finger on her chin as she thought, “well he's pretty hard to explain, he's laid back, though he can pretty fun to party with. He is a great artist, tall, pretty lousy flier though.”
“He seems nice,” Rarity said.
“Yeah, but he's a complete egghead! I mean him and Twilight could compete to see who is a bigger egghead,” Rainbow said, Twilight didn't get offended, but she did get intrigued.
“How is he an 'egghead'?” Twilight asked.
“Well to start he has glasses,” Rainbow said.
“Having glasses don't make you an egghead, Rainbow,” Twilight deadpanned.
“Yeah but it helps, anyway, he always has a book in his hands, always fictional. He plays video games constantly, and he gets good grades,” Rainbow continued. Applejack couldn't help but chuckle.
“Rainbow, that stuff doesn't make yah an egghead,” Applejack said.
“Well whatever, you think he is an egghead don't you, Fluttershy?” Rainbow asked. Fluttershy had a hard time coming up with an answer because she didn't know who to side with. “Never mind, there he is!”
All the girls looked where she was pointing at, a stallion who was sitting in the fountain edge, along with others. The only way they knew it was Rainbow's brother was he had a grayish blue colored stallion, with a short dark rainbow colored mane, he had square plastic framed glasses, his eyes were bright pink that they could see even from the distance they were apart, and he wore a red t-shirt, faded blue jeans with equally faded converse high tops, three square studs in his left ear, and one square stud in his right ear. He probably would have two more in his right ear if he wasn't missing half of it. A pair of old flight goggles hung around his neck and he had a small white stick sticking out of his mouth.
“Hey! Spiral!” Rainbow called, Rainbows brother turned his head towards the direction of the sound and saw them.

You look for the person who called your name, as soon as you turn your head you see Rainbow wearing a blue track suit, a few shades darker than her fur, runners shoes, and she had her bright rainbow mane up in a ponytail. You also see that she isn't alone. One of the mares she is with is wearing a classic school outfit, white dress shirt under a dark purple vest, the same color as her fur, a black plaid skirt, knee-high white socks and black buckle shoes, she had a horn protruding from her purple and pink mane. One was dressed in a red and white checkered button-up shirt covering orange fur, blue jeans, cowpony boots and a worn stetson atop her golden mane. Another one was pink furred with an even pink-er very poofy curly mane, wearing a pink tank top over a yellow t-shirt and a pink skirt over black shorts, and runners shoes. Another had a fancy curled purple mane with a horn spouting from her forehead, a white dress shirt covering white fur, a tight black skirt, and black high heels. The last one has very long pink hair that curled at the end, she wore a very oversized butter yellow sweater that matched her fur, she had pants on with slip-on shoes.
You take out your earbuds, stuff them in your pocket and stand up. You start to walk towards the girls and they meet you halfway.
“What's up, Rainbow?” you ask as take the lollipop out of your mouth and you both fist pound.
“Not much, just picking you up,” Rainbow says. “I suppose I should introduce you to my friends, well this is Applejack,” she said as she pointed to the girl with the stetson.
“Howdy,” Applejack said with a tip of her hat, you nod back in acknowledgment.
“This is Rarity,” Rainbow said pointing to the girl with the big fancy hair.
“It is nice to meet you,” Rarity says as she hold out her hand.
“Likewise,” you say as you lightly shake her hand.
“This is Twilight,” Rainbow said pointing to the girl in the school uniform.
“Hello,” Twilight said with a big smile.
“Hi,” you say with a smile.
“This is Pinkie,” Rainbow said as she pointed to the pink mare. Pinkie gets all up in your business, but you don't back down.
“Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, but I suppose you already knew that because Rainbow just told you my name. Your name must be Spiral, because that's what Rainbow shouted at you when she tried to get your attention and it worked because it's your name. Do you like to party?” Pinkie said about a mile a minute and asked the question while cocking her head, like a little filly might do. All with a huge smile plastered on her face.
“Yes, I like to party,” you say once your ears have caught up with Pinkie's words.
“Right,” Rainbow said, “well, you already know Fluttershy.”
“Yes,” you turn to face Fluttershy, “how is Angel Bunny?” you ask with a smile.
“Oh, he is doing good,” Fluttershy says with a soft smile.
“Well, that's my friends,” Rainbow says.
“Well I hope to get to know them in the future, however it is past noon and I have yet to eat lunch. Would any of you care to join me?” you ask, to which the girls agree. “Well then, lead the way,” you say and you put your lollipop back in your mouth, Rainbow rolls her eyes. The girls lead the way to the cafeteria and you take this time to take in the campus. Along the paths are trees and bushes. The path that you take, takes you next to the three large buildings where classes are held. Then you walk next to a small park with a small pond that has a bridge going over it. Then you arrived at the cafeteria. It was a simple building, white walls, tables everywhere, a couple of lines for food, a simple cafeteria.
You get in the line for pizza and grab eight slices of cheese pizza, a banana, and an energy drink. When you sit down at the table the girls have picked, they look at you, then to the pile of food on your tray, then back to you with quizzical looks on their faces.
“Hungry?” Rarity asks, looking from her small salad to your pizza.
“Not really, I just don't eat dinner most of the time,” you say and you sink your teeth into the first slice of cheesy goodness, you pull the pizza back and there is a long string of cheese still connected to the pizza.
“So, Spiral,” Twilight starts, she had a daisy sandwich, “not to be rude or anything, but how old are you? You just seem a little older than Rainbow.”
You swallow the pizza in your mouth before speaking, “Yeah, I'm twenty. I assume your eighteen?”
“Yup, so why wait so long to go to college?” Twilight asks taking a bite out of her sandwich.
“Had to take a break, I went to Canterlot, met some ponies, heard about here, here I am,” you say taking another bite of pizza.
“Oh! Oh! Oh! Who did you meet? Is it anyone I know?” Pinkie asked, jumping up and down in her seat, making the slice of cake she bought bounce.
“Depends, do you know Octavia Melody?” you ask, taking another bite.
“Hmm, she sounds familiar, like I've heard of her, but never met her...” Pinkie trailed off, trying to think.
“You probably heard her name from Vinyl Scratch,” you say.
“Oh! That's right, I went to one of her gigs and met her after the show, she talked a lot about Octavia,” Pinkie said.
“That she does,” you say as you take a drink of your energy drink. Rainbow also bought an energy drink, which she took a drink of. “Are you sure you should be drinking that, Rainbow?”
“What?” Rainbow asks.
“That energy drink, you always crash pretty bad,” you say, picking up another slice of pizza.
“Oh please, I got over that,” Rainbow said as she continued to devour her small apple pie.
“Whatever you say,” you say and you go back to eating your pizza. During lunch you find out more about Rainbow's friends, Twilight, here just to learn in general, was from Canterlot, but she moved to Ponyville, and during the weekend when there are no classes, she helps out at the library, while she helps out at the library during school hours. Rarity is here to learn more about running your own business and learning more about how to be a fashion designer. Pinkie is here to learn more about being a chef, Applejack is here just because every Apple family member went to collage, and she will not be the one to break that tradition. Fluttershy is here to learn about taking care of animals and becoming a vet, and Rainbow is here to play sports.
“So, what are you here for?” Twilight asks.
“I want to open an electronics store, but the bank only gives out loans to collage graduates,” you say as you eat the last crust of your pizza.
“Oh,” Twilight says. You start to pile everybody’s trash on your tray and you take it to the trash can and throw it away. When you get back to the table they each say their thanks.
“Well, I should probably check out my apartment,” you say when you look at the time.
“What dorm block do you have?” Rainbow asks.
“Dorm 3, Apartment 2,” you say. As the girls get up.
“You Live right across the hall from me,” Rainbow said.
“Oh, yippee,” you say heavy with sarcasm. Rainbow just rolls her eyes. You make your way to the dorm blocks, each person leaves to go to their apartment, save you and Rainbow, who are now walking through Dorm 3.
“So, here we go, this one is mine,” Rainbow says as you near her apartment, Apartment 1. You turn around and face Apartment 2, and produced the golden key Mrs. Cheerilee gave to you.
“Well, here we go,” you say as you place the key in the lock and open the door.
