Chapter One: Being absorbed?
This was sooooo not worth it
Quickly leaping from roof to roof as I was Chased by a black and red mass of death. Looking down to the street below at what used to be a huge crowd of infected redused to a neon orange cloud of smoke that I can only assume is some sort of residue from mass adsorption. Not wanting to meet a similar fate I continued my frantic attempt at escape.
It had all started when Alex Mercer released the blacklight virus in Manhattan getting both him and me infected. Somehow we both had some sort of resistance in our DNA that had kept it from hijacking then mutating it. Instead it seemed to meld and enhance it instead giving us shapeshifting, regenerative,and consumption abilities. Allowing the user to take biomass, shape, and even memory from anyone or anything we consume, as long as it is organic.
Instead of going on a homicidal rampage through the city and consuming every living thing just because your hungry I decided on a more subtle approach such as going to a blackwatch base and silently absorbing every single one of those of those heartless basterds... ok maybe it's not subtle at all but it's still better than killing civilians. After Alex stopped the military from nukeing Manhattan the infection was contained..... for a little while at least.
Approximately two month later the infection was spread again by Alex who quickly implanted the virus in several genteck higher ups turning them into evolved like me, one of these people was James Heller a sergeant in the military. I still don't know why he even chose James, he wasn't of any importance in Genteck or Blackwatch but I digress. James, quickly finding out that Merser had killed his wife and kidnapped his daughter, had gone rouge and started a search for Alex so he could claim vengeance for his wife and save his daughter. Now after he had absorbed Alex massive tendrils had shot out of him and started to clear the streets of infected.
And so here I am.
Still running at top speed I quickly dived off the side of the apartment complex trying to out maneuver my presurer. Time seemed to slow down around me as I fell to the street below. 70 feet 60 feet 50 fee...
"AAAARRRR" I screamed aloud as I looked behind me in horror as the tendril grabbed my right leg instantly dissolving it into a neon cloud that quickly spread throughout my body. Looking back down at the fast approaching street I saw my life flash before me as a searing pain shot through my spine.
30 feet
20 feet
10 feet
Accepting my fate I opened my mouth for one last remark before entirely vaporized.
"Be a good father James."

I awoke with a horrible ringing in my ears and a headache that rivaled the hangover I had when I drank enough rum to make Jack Sparrow proud. As I tried to open my eyes I was bombarded with what I can only assume is the god forsaken sun.
"Go away you godammed burning ball of hydrogen," I said as I "gracefully" rolled over onto what I can assume was a rock that Jack Frost took a nap on.
"COLD COLD Co....the fuck," I said as I took in my surroundings.
I was in a forest of some kind kind of creepy but I wasn't to deep in.... but. Everything was..... brighter for lack of a better word. Hell it looked like I was in a cartoon. But I digress it is time to use my BRAIN.
"Ok let's see.... I was watching the battle..... Heller won..... the I ran from a black tentacle of death then.... then I got absorbed!?"
"So either I'm in Heller's mind(and everyone called me fucked up)or this is the afterlife..... which would make this hell."
".... hell is pretty nice,"
"HEEELLLPPP."
Whipping around to the sound I found it coming from deeper into the woods, and even worse was it sounded like a child's scream. Now I may killed/eaten about half the military forces in Manhattan but I have NEVER EVER hurt a child before, and you better believe that I will rip any motherfucker's heart out with my claws who does. Now knowing this you can guess what I'm about to do."
"LEEEEE RRROOOOOYYY....."

It had been a pretty average week for Fluttershy. Monday- nothing, Tuesday- nothing, and Wednesday- absolutely nothing at all. So naturally when her close friend Twilight Sparkle said she needed some salves from Zecora she was happy to help.
After saying goodbye to her animal friends she quickly departed into the Everfree Forest. After a good 15 minute trot she had gotten the feeling of being followed. Stopping she did a 360 of her surroundings, finding nothing of interest she continued on. 5 minutes 10 minutes 15 minutes still there.
"H-he-hello i-is anypony t-ther AHH," she screamed as a timberwolf jumped out of the woods. Mind flooded with fear her flight-or-fight instinct kicked in, and it most defiantly said flight.
Quickly leaping to the right she ran as fast as her legs could carry her through the woods. Pursuer close behind she spotted a clearing up ahead she double timed it for the chance of escape by flight. Bursting out of the treeline she quickly spread her wings and prepared to fly; only to be stopped by ten more timberwolfs jumping out at her. Screeching to a halt she quickly turned left to have more jump out. Turning back around to her entrance only to be greeted by the same scenario. Surrounded and alone she did the only thing she could think of.
"HEEELLLPPP."

Sprinting as fast as I could through the wood I was soon greeted by a sight that made my blood run cold. A small shivering yellow blob was surrounded by a pack of.... wooden wolf's? Well time to make some fire wood I said as I activated my claws.
"What!" I said as I tried to use my claws only to be met with a empty feeling.
"That could only mean..... shit!" That only happens when I don't have enough biomass to use a devastator, and if I can't use my powers then Heller must have absorbed it all when he consumed me.
Looking back to the clearing the wolf's were preparing to pounce. Mustering all of my power I ran straight into the fray; quickly grasping a wolf's head in the process and smashing it to splinters with my kneecap. Stunned by my surprise attack the pack turned to me at once giving me ample time to smash another one in the face with my best mimicry of a falcon punch sending it hurtling into a nearby tree. Finally coming to their senses the wolf's started to circle me in a rough attack formation. Taking the brief standoff to address my opponent I quickly count their numbers, 25 with 3 big burly alphas for a total of 28, now to wait.
As quickly as the standoff had been made it was broken as a wolf behind me pounced. Hearing it I graphed it as it was landing on me, then flipping it forward I slammed it on its back then followed up with a curb stomp. Then two leaped from my right which was swiftly counted with a roundhouse to the skull. The battle continued on until there were 15 with all three alphas still intact. Useing their combined weight the three alphas were able to tackle me in my weakened state, as they were quickly joined by the remaining pack in a literal dog pile. Trapped underneath I was being torn apart with tooth and claw. Left with one option I tapped into whatever biomass I had left then painfully shaped it into spikes that quickly shot out of my body turning anything around me into a shish-kabob.
As I got out from under the pile of corpses the fatigue hit me like a train; blurring my vision and making all the dull. Remembering why I did this in the first place I turned around to see what I assume is a girl with yellow clothes and pink hair starring straight at me with a look of pure fear in her eyes. Knowing what she just witnessed I did what seemed best at the time. Slowly I walked up to her, knelt down, looked at her eyes, then pulled her close.
"Its alright your safe now," I softly coed in her ear.
*THUMP*

Fluttershy could not believe what she just saw. Just when she thought she was about to die to never see any of her dear friends again a six foot tall bipedal monster tore out of the woods and slaughtered the entire pack. Now it was looking directly at HER. It looked like a monkey without fur that wore clothes. It was adorned with a unbuttoned midnight black overcoat with a navy blue undershirt. On its back legs was a pair of rugged black leggings, on its back hooves were some type thick black cover that went up to its ankles while on its fore hooves were four long fleshy claws with one stubby one.
It had a flat muzzle with a long neck length dull silver mane with bangs that slightly covered its deep brown eyes.
It moved at a slow, deliberate pace towards her, a monumental effort considering the injuries it's sustained. Held in place by pure fear, it got closer and closer until it could touch her. It looked her directly in the eyes, but she felt safe under its soft gaze.
Then it hugged her
It wasn't forced nor was it painful, it was a comforting hug.
"Its alright your safe now," it said in a voice just above whisper.
Fluttershy was to shocked for words. An unknown animal had just saved her life and now it was trying to comfort her!?! About a thousand questions flooded her mind, what was it? Does it have a name? Is it a carnivo-.
*THUMP*
Looking back at the strange animal it had finally passed out and was snoring rather loudly. If there was one thing she knew for certain is that she would have something to do.
