Apples and Tiaras

When Diamond Tiara woke up, she felt horrible. Her boyfriend left and beat her, she’s pregnant with his kid, she was forced to stay with a mare she basically tortured as a filly. When did her life turn into crap? A knock came from the door, forcing her to open her eyes. “Who is it?” she said with a course voice.

“it’s the pizza man. Who do you think it is?” Applebloom replied. Tiara rolled on her side, looking away from the door as Bloom opened the door and walked in. “un… Tiara? You okay?”

“no… I’m not, Applebloom. I just had a… really bad day yesterday and I brought you into it. I’m sorry for that.”

Applebloom chuckled. “it’s okay, Tiara. It’s okay. What are friends for?”

Friends… just thinking about that word made Tiara both chuckle and cry. She treated Applebloom like crap but she’s helping her. She turned around. “Thanks, Applebloom.” she noticed that the mare was carrying a breakfast tray on her back. “You made me breakfast in bed?”

“yeah. Figured it’s the least I can do for you after what you went though.” she walked over to give it to Tiara when she stepped and tripped on a teddy bear. Applebloom yelled as she fell, causing the contents of the tray to spill all over and for her to fall face first into Tiara’s mouth, kissing her on the lips.

Both mares went wide-eyed then immediately broke the kiss. They just laid there, looking at each other, turning as red as strawberries. They didn’t move; they just stared into each other’s eyes.

“T-Tiara…”

“A-Applebloom…”

They didn’t move or tear their gaze away from each other.

"hey Bloom, there's a sale going on in the markets later today. maybe we could..." Zim walked into the room and saw the 2 mares in a very... awkward situation. "Un... what happened?"

Applebloom bit her lip and squeaked though her lips. "un... un... I..."

Tiara chuckled at her nervousness. she knew Applebloom wouldn't think of a good excuse. "Applebloom tripped on a teddy bear and fell on me. hence... this."

Zim pursed his lips and moved them to the side. "Really?"

"Yn... yeah. yeah. really." Applebloom insisted. she got off the bed and wiped the food off her fur. "un... i gotta go check on Helios. be right back." she quickly walked out of her room, making sure not to show her blushing. she bolted down the stairs before Zim could ask more questions.

instead, Zim turned back to Tiara. "So... how are you feeling?"

he's really asking that? "i was beaten by my Ex... i'm carrying his child... and i'm currently putting up residence with a pony i used to bully when we were both fillies. what does that tell you?"

"..."

"That's what i thought."

Zim picked up the teddy bear Applebloom tripped on and tossed it to the side. "so... who's the pony who knocked you up?"

"Gryphon. actually." a Gryphon? that was something he never expected to hear. "his name's Green Star and he... he's not exactly the friendly type."

"then why did you go out with him?"

Tiara scoffed. "I was young. we both were. we weren't thinking right. plus, he was a bad boy and i have a thing for bad boys. well... had."

Zim went on picking up the stuff Applebloom spilled. "why not go to your father about this?"

"he looked up to Green Star. plus... he and i don't have the... best relationship."

"oh." Zim didn't know how to comfort her about this or how to cheer her up. "Well... you're welcome to stay as long as you want. any friend of Applebloom's is a friend of mine."

"Thanks." Tiara said with a smile. that's the first good thing that happened to her in months.

"you never met Diamond Tiara, did you Helios? she moved to Trottingham long before she met you." Applebloom asked her pet. the Crystal Dragon lightly growled, too focused on a leg of lamb Applebloom found downtown.

Trottingham, while in Equestria, is mostly dominated by Gryphons & Dragons and has a heavy meat market. buying a leg of lamb is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

"Well... Tiara was not a... friendly pony to be around. she was a horrid bully that borderlined tortured me. not sure where she got such a horrid personality. it was scary, is what it was." Helios bit the leg right down at the bone and swallowed half of it, bone and all.

a curtain in the kitchen parted and the window slightly opened. "i mean... Tiara was pretty horrid. she was like a dictator. tortured me and my friends to the point of scarring us. you know, i was this close to saying no to taking her in. but..." Applebloom sat down beside one of Helios' legs. "but when i saw her eyes... she looked so scared, so... so frightened. i never saw her like that. it reminded me that Tiara was a pony like me- who was very horrid in grade school. and..." she touched her lips momentarily. she shook her head, snapping out of it.

Helios swallowed the last of his leg of lamp and licked his lips. "That should hold you until lunch." Bloom said as she got up. "I gotta head into town and run a few errands. keep an eye on the place?" Helios lightly growled in agreement. Applebloom chuckled. "Thanks."

Applebloom walked out of the backyard and in though the kitchen. she saw Tiara walk away from the window and to the fridge. Bloom noticed that the window was open and chuckled. she must've eavesdropped and is now trying to hide it. Applebloom decided to play along. "how you feeling?"

Tiara scoffed. "You too? you already asked me before. and your cousin just a few minutes ago. i'm feeling like crap and i'm hungry. what do you guys got?"

"hmm... some hay frys in the freezer, some leftover chocolate cake from a party Zim had before i came, and Pinkie Pie sent some cookies with me when i moved."

that sounded good. "OH, Cookies!"

"You sure you want that for breakfast?"

Tiara gave her a suspicious look. "you spilled breakfast all over me. and i'm eating for two now. and considering what happened to me these past few days, i think Cookies would be the least of my worries!"

"Okay! okay. you made your point!" Applebloom went upstairs. "i should warn you, they're oatmeal raisin and i know they aren't your favorite."

"It's okay. i'm already getting cravings. and right now, it's Oatmeal Raisin."

"Lucky you." she went into her room, ruffled though her boxes, found the tin of cookies, and went back downstairs. "enjoy. i'm heading out." she said, handing the tin to Tiara.

"where you going?"

"just running a few errands. get to know Helios. he'll like to meet you."

"Helios?" the door closed before Tiara could get a answer. "that the dragon she was talking too?"

Tiara slowly walked out, feeling intimidated by the crystal dragon. so big and so menacing. "Um... hi, Helios. m-my name's Diamond Tiara. i-i'm sure Applebloom told you about me."

the dragon snorted out smoke then turned his head to go to sleep. "i... i see. you want to take a nap. i'm not gonna pry into things. just gonna... gonna leave you alone... hehe..."

TIara turned and nervously breathed out as she walked away. she never felt more intimidated in her life. that dragon was so scary. how can Applebloom not be scared around him? she must have nerves of steel. guess that would explain why she was able to put up with her bullying.
