DisclaimerView OnlineDarkfire Universe: MemoriesDisclaimerHey, everypony! Shadow here. At the beginning of bronybrofist, it was just me and a friend of mine who went by the name Darkfire. He left the group shortly before we started getting more members. However, he came up with the idea of Darkfire Universe a long time ago, and about two months ago, he sent me a request to meet with him. I went to see him, and he helped me create the Darkfire Universe world. He recently sent me this short story that I now type up for you guys. There is no editing other than spelling errors. Sincerely, Shadow
MemoriesView OnlineDarkfire Universe: MemoriesMemoriesI pull out my laptop and boot it up. I finally had time to rest for at least five minutes. I click on FIMFiction and check bronybrofist's stories. (About two months ago, I had contacted the group and asked if they would publish my adventures. Shadow replied with Sure, Darkfirehero. Send us a summary and we'll start the story. I sent them summaries of a few of my adventures, and of course, Shadow picked the most emotionally taxing one for me.) I click on Double Darkfire and scroll down to the comments. It is there that I see this: There must be another story explaining Darkwing/fire's beginnings... I run out onto the stairs. "Hey, Twilight!" I call down the stairs. "Yes?" She calls up to me. "Do you still have that Magical Memory Projector we got you for your brthday a month ago?" Everypony had pitched in to earn enough bits to buy it for her. She hadn't found use for it, and still had it in her closet, as far as I knew. "Yeah," she calls up, "I still have it, though it's buried in my closet. Do you need it?" I grin. Though everything else in the library was spotless, Twilight's closet was extremely messy. "Yeah! I think we can finally make use for it!" Within the hour, we have it set up. Twilight hands me a helmet. "Put this on, and it will transmit the desired memories onto the screen." I nod, and put on the helmet
Memory 1View OnlineDarkfire Universe: MemoriesMemory 1Memory 1 I wake up lying on the ground. I can't seem to remember anything other than my name, Chase, and that I have the power to control shadows. I try to sit up, only to be pushed down by a large boot. I look up to see a man in a cowboy hat, pointing a sixshooter at me. "Dont'cha try getting up, kid." I glance around. The strange helmet was lying about a foot away from me. Off to the side stood three people: a silver-haired teenager about my age, a young man with a guitar, and an old man holding a staff. "Who are all of you?" I asked, scared that the cowboy was going to shoot me. "Kid, that won't fool me." Suddenly, the girl shoves him off of me. "Gunsmith, stop! I can sense that he's telling the truth!" she yells at the cowboy. The old man steps forward and helps me up. "Mimic is right. I believe he is telling the truth; he dosen't know who we are. I believe that helmet was why he attacked us," he says, pointing to said piece of headwear. "Attacked you?" I ask the old man. The musician replies. "Yeah, you did. But enough about that. I'm Rocker. This is Mimic. The grumpy guy is Gunsmith, and our mentor's name is Gi. We are the Master Heroes. "Well," I say, "I'm Chase, but I think I'll take the name Darkfire." Gi smiles at me. " So, Darkfire, I have one question. Since you obviously have powers, I'd like to ask ou to join our group." I grin. They're being really nice, especially since I attacked them, even if it was under mind control. "Well, okay. I can't really remember anything other than my name, so I don't have anything to go back to." The Master Heroes then proceed to take me back to thier headquarters. They give me a comlink and a key card to access the subbasement of the HQ. (Memory fades.) Library I take off the Memory Transmitter and turn to Twilight. "Did it work?" She has an enthusiastic smile on. "Yep!" "Good," I say to my friend. "Let's do the next one. I have to warn you, it's kinda dark. Most of my past is." She nods, and I sit down and put the helmet on again.
Memory 2View OnlineDarkfire Universe: MemoriesMemory 2Memory 2 Mimic and I step into the lobby of the HQ after going grocery shopping, to find everything a mess. I turn to her. " This isn't good!" She replies with a no, and we rush onto the elevator to the subbasement. We ride down, then dash through the corridor. We hit a fork in the path and split up. I head down to the armory, and am about to enter it when I hear a familiar scream. I hurry back into the corridor, and take the path Mimic went down. Outside the door to the mission room, I see Gi, whose leg is bent the wrong way, obviously broken, or worse. He points towards the door. "They're... in there," he says, anticipating the question. I kick the door open to see a horrific sight. My friends are lying dead on the floor. Near Mimic's body is a man crackling with energy, wearing a suit and tie. "Ah, now for the one Dr. Madd sent me to bring back to him!" He turns around, and I see his face is horribly disfigured. Suddenly, I feel rage well up inside of me, and red starts to tint my vision. Shadows start to radiate from my body. "You. Will. Pay. For! THIS!!!" I fire the largest Shadow Beam I have ever created, and the moment it hits him, he vaporizes. I breath heavily for a moment, then the aura fades away and my vision returns to normal. I rush over to Mimic's body. I try CPR, but it dosen't work. I begin to sob. "Darkfire." I spin around to see my mentor, Gi standing at the door on one leg. "It's no use, Darkfire. They're... all dead." After that statement, he falls to the floor, unconscious. I get up, and rush over to him. I know that I should save who I can still save. I pick him up, and carry him to the hospital. Two weeks later... I step into the room. Gi is lying in a hospital bed. He had wanted to speak to me. "Darkfire, if I make it through this, I will be coinfined to a wheel chair. I won't be able to be a hero anymore. Please, for my sake, create a new team, and lead it." I nod. He summons his staff, and holds it out to me. I push it away. "It's yours, Master Gi." He pushes it back towards me. "Darkfire, this is a gift to you for having wisdom. You knew to help a friend who was alive, rather than let him die while you grieve over another. Take it." I reluctantly take it. "Darkfire, I will still live at HQ, and I can still train you in how to use that Magic Staff." I nod, then with a farewell, I leave the room. (memory fades) Library "Oh god..." Twilight says. "I didn't know." "I know," I say to her, "You should hate me for it!" "No," she replies, "I don't. You are one of my best friends, and I will never betray you." I smile. "Thanks, Twi," I quietly say to her.
