Moving to Ponyville
Cloudy with a chance of Apples
Load Full StoryAfter I got home, I got on my computer. I looked up Apple Stores in Ponyville, and learned an orchard called Sweet Apple Acres was at the edge of town. I promised myself I’d go tomorrow, and then went to sleep.

I woke up and walked downstairs to Stern’s room. I woke him up and punched him in the face. “What was that for?!” he asked. “That was for putting mud in my plumbing you jerk!” I answered. He laughed and said, “So, you finally noticed. Ha ha ha!” he said, flying out of the room. I was going to pursue him, but I didn’t want to. I got on my cap, a red plaid shirt, sneakers, and faded jeans. I headed to the orchard to get some apples.
I heard noises coming from a barn, and noticed a light orange pony with blonde hair in a ponytail, mane and tail. She had on jeans, a cowboy hat and boots, and a brown blouse with three red delicious apples. She was kicking trees fast and hard, and a little girl with strawberry colored hair, pale yellow skin, and a large pink bow was catching all the apples that fell. She looked about 8 or 9, and she had a green, red, and yellow dress. There was a boy with overalls and a plaid red shirt picking apples off the tree. He had a short, strawberry-blonde mane and tail and red fur. He was chewing on a grain straw as he checked apples for worm holes and dropped them to the little girl. An older pony, about 30 or 40, and she had her white hair tucked in a messy bun. She was making sure the apples were ripe, and her green fur made every apple look ripe. She was wearing a red blouse that matched her glasses, and dark pants with an apple pie on the side. I stepped on a twig, and froze as the happy ponies turned to look at me.
I waved a shy wave, covered in full blush. I was surprised that the orange one pulled me toward the barn, the other ponies following closely behind us. The orange pony stopped dragging me and turned around. “You have a lot of nerve sneaking up on me and my kin!” she said. “B-b-but I-I-I-I…” I began. “She’s just kidding with you, city boy! We’re just following along!” the little girl said. The red stallion said a simple, “Eeyup.” They all started laughing and then introduced themselves. The little girl said, “I’m Applebloom.” “I’m Applejack,” said the orange pony. “Big Mac,” said the red stallion. “And I’m Granny Smith,” said the last pony. “I-I’m T-T-Train Wreck,” I stuttered. “I was wondering if I could-” “Look out!”
Crash! I saw a blue thing blocking my view, and pulled up my cap. I saw a purple child, and he had burns all over him. He had green spiky hair and a purple tail. His clothes had rips in them, and he sagged quite a bit, as his pants were at most 5 inches from his knees. I blushed at that, and then pulled my hat back down. Applejack came and said, “Are you two alright?” The boy said, “I’m fine AJ. Twilight just sort of blew me up.” I pulled up my cap and exclaimed, “What?!” “Sorry!” I turned to see a purple pony with a dark purple mane with an indigo and pink line going down her mane in a straight line side by side. Her tail was in the same design. “Twilight, are you insane? How dare you blow up poor Spike!” Applejack said, obliviously angry. “Oh, it was an accident! I was trying to switch Owlicious and Spike to be in each other’s places, but I blew up our room,” Twilight said. I spoke up and said, “Stop it! You’re giving me a headache!” Everyone looked at me, making my voice crack when I continued. “If she said it was an accident, it was probably an accident.” “But Spike crushed you on his way down!” Applejack yelled, making Spike blush as he nodded. “And I’m fine! I’m not hurt, though I can’t say the same about Spike,” I replied, smirking. Twilight glared at me, and then said words in a unicorn language. I heard, “Heal the dragon, and make him okay so he’ll be fine in his own way!” Spike’s burn faded, and his clothes were repaired. I had a few cuts and scrapes from yesterday, and they were also healed. It felt strange, and I blushed a little because of the feeling.
“So, Applejack?” I asked. “Yes Train wreck?” “I was wondering if I could buy a bag of apples. You see, I was hungry and…” Applejack once again dragged me, but this time toward a tree. She kicked it, and apples fell right into a sack she was holding. She gave it to me, and I took out my wallet. “No, no. This bag is on the house,” Applejack said. I smiled, thanked the apple family, and headed home. Stern was going to get it good.
