Book the Fourteenth aka Those who help

Well, face down with a foot posed dangerously close to my head. Not exactly how I planned on going out, but when life gives you lemons, where my last thoughts when I felt my attacker pull his weight off of me and I heard a table crash nearby. I immediately scrambled away from Issac and looked for my savior, and my heart sunk, but it also rose. Two mares were high-fiving while retreating, the two mares in question were Vinyl and Octavia. I had to remember to thank them if, when, my secret got out. I turned back to them man who had given me a curb stomp battle. I smiled and said, “Looks like I won't need that deal after all.” He scowled and replied, “Lucky boy, your guardian angels saved you, but now their gone.” My grin grew wider as I rebuked him, “A good amount of skill is luck. And when it comes to harm, I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world cause I have better reflexes.” I was quite happy to see that his victory being pulled out from under him like a rug had a visible effect on him, shaking in anger. I saw the cafe were Vinyl and Octavia got the table and a bunch of ponies just standing there staring. I walked over, took a seat, and ordered a drink.

He charged me and I was able to counter and obstruct his view with the table and draw my sword. By the time he had removed the table from his face I placed a shallow cut on his stomach and placed the blade at his neck. "So," I stated, "about the person who was here." He was a little freaked out and said in a somewhat panicky voice that they had sent her to the castle. I thanked him and started to run back to the castle when a wall of fire appeared between me and my destination. I turned back and the man was nearly foaming at the mouth in rage. I smiled and charged him again, and everything slowed down around me. One quick slash and he was nothing but ashes to be blown away in the wind. I re-sheathed my blade and headed for the castle again.

Going further into the castle put me on edge, guards lined the sides of the halls, none killed thankfully but made me wonder what kind of weapon the person would use. I reached a door that I remembered from my first visit to the castle. I opened the door and Luna and Celestia were barely holding the girl back. I picked up a very small piece of wall and tossed it at her head. She turned and I guessed she would be about 11 or 12. I waved with a small smile as I spoke, "Well what do we have here," I asked rhetorically, "Where's your mother?" She pointed her staff at me as I threw myself out of the way. A fireball hit the spot where I was standing. I gave a whistle of awe as I got back on my feet and I turned back to the girl who was getting ready to attack me again. I ran at her and tackled her and knocked the staff from her hand. I picked her up and to stop her from squirming, headbutted her. My vision swam and I fell to the ground as blackness greeted me.

I got up groggily and shook my head to try and clear my head. I began looking around, not that there was much to see, and got up. Ripples appeared in the darkness that surrounded me and reminded me of something out of Kingdom Hearts. I then noticed dark vines holding the girl I had just fought, and I ran over to try and pull her out. The moment I touched her hand I heard someone behind me say, "Don't touch her, she is essential to my plan." I turned and saw a floating ball of light. I promptly turned around and pulled the girl free of the vines. I looked at the light and said, "Sorry, what was that," I asked smiling. The light flashed and I awoke back up in the element room. I looked over at the girl and she began to stir, Celestia and Luna preparing for another battle. I walked over to the girl and offered her a hand up, which she took reluctantly. I was almost beside myself with relief as I asked her if she was ok. She began asking a lot of questions, "Where am I? Who are you? Who are they?" I calmed her down with a hug, which she tearfully reciprocated. The hug stopped after a minute and I smiled at her. I pointed at Celestia and Luna and introduced them. The I pointed at myself and introduced myself and then told her the name of the land we were in.

The Knight and the Female Knight (Whom I shall refer to as Amber) came back soon after I explained almost everything. They wondered who the girl was and she informed us that she had, (Dun Dun DUN!) forgotten. I thought for almost a half minute before smiling and ruffling up her hair, and stated, "Your name is now Vivian, or Vivi for short." Then I was asked, "Why did you name her that?" I shrugged and went to the door. Before leaving I turned back to the Knight and Amber and said, "She's a mage, let Celestia and Luna handle helping her get stronger." Everyone stared at me incredulously for what could have been a few minutes as I left. When I had reached the train station I felt someone tug me and I looked. Vivi had followed me to the station. She looked at me and asked, "Why are you being so nice to me? Especially after," she began tearing up at the memories. I placed my hand on her head and said, "Because I know that people can be rescued from darkness." She began crying at that and held on to my hand. "Thank you," she began between sobs, "thank you so much." I replied, "No thanks necessary. We're the same after all. The only difference is that you needed a helping hand." She looked up at me and I gave her the biggest smile I could muster as I said, "Besides, we're family." And with that she began crying louder. I picked her up and brought her on the train so that I could help her out however I could.
