//-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity Bucks Apples -by TheGuardianOfBooks- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity Bucks Apples //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity Bucks Apples The marshmallow white pony flicked the hot sweat off her forehead. Rarity wasn't one for manual labor.  She would rather just use her magic to do what needed to be done, and forget about anything that had to do with dirt and muck!  But this.  This was way to rough and tumble, and dirty, for a unicorn's light body. Earlier that morning, Rarity and Applejack were quarrel in the farmer's market.  Well, it wasn't a real argument, like hollering or anything, just a few crude statements and a bet. "Oh my!  My life is just so, tiring! I had to fill in 3 orders in one afternoon! All using emeralds! Do you know how hard emeralds are to sew on? while still making it look fashionable? Very."  Rarity had complained. "Your life tiring? Try buckin aht least more than 30 golden delicious trees without any help!" Applejack retorted. "Why do you say that? Are you trying to say that you're life is harder than mine?  You have a big brother, a grandmother and a little sister!" Rarity responded, aggravated, "All I have to help me work is a trouble making sister and a grumpy old cat." "How is that mah fault?" Applejack slyly replied, "Makin dresses is ah lot easier than kicking your hooves on ah tree trunk." Rarity flattened her ears. "Hurmph! Well, it's a lot harder than it looks!" Rarity growled at her, sticking her muzzle up in the air.  This happened normally between the two friends.  It keeps friendships healthy and alive.  Their friendship was extremely healthy because these disputes happened frequently. "Oh, please!  How's usin yer fanchy shmancy magic hard work? You wouldn't know hard labor even if it bit yah in then kester!"  Applejack snapped. "Oh ho ho! Is that how it is? Are you really going to bring race into this?" Rarity snapped back harder. "It's true! Unicorns are always using they're horns rather than their hooves!" Applejack barked. "Well, maybe if you see how hard it is to control magic then maybe you would actually understand how it's harder to be a unicorn than a earth pony!" Rarity stated firmly. "Was that ah challenge?" Applejack turned to the posh pony determinedly.  If there was one thing everypony knew about Applejack, it was that she loved to prove a point. "Hmm, I do believe it was." Rarity smirked. "Well, how about ah bet?  We live in each others hooves and see what who's lives are harder. Winner gets 10 bits and braggin rights.  Deal?" Applejack handed out her hoof out toward her friend. "Hmm... deal!" Rarity grabbed it and shook it lightly. They later went over to Twilight's Library to get her to cast a spell that would change their species and lives.  But it luckily only lasts for a day. "Why do you girls want a spell that changes your form?" Twilight questioned. Rarity and Applejack looked back and forth from each other, then their eyes moved to Twilight, who was waiting for a response still. "We kinda made a bet with each other.  We wanna see who had the harder life, tryin tah settle a fight." Applejack finally responded to the silence. "Well, alright.  but remember this spell only works for two days and nopony but you two and me will notice the difference between you two.  I thought you two would be able to settle a dispute through words and not actions.  But, I suppose I can't stop you.  Now let's see..." Twilight lifted one of her spell books with her magic and flipped through the pages. "Ah ha! Here we go... Souls bewitched and truth unstitched, let those wretched fools be switched!" A bright white glow began to shine around Applejack and Rarity.  It grew larger and larger until it completely engulfed the duo.  The light blasted through the windows and everything turned black.  Applejack and Rarity groggily opened there eyes and rubbed there heads. "EEEEEKKK!!! My horn!" Rarity cried. "Ah horn!?" Applejack gasped.         "I suppose it worked then..." It worked.  Rarity was now a earth pony, Applejack a unicorn.  If they're body types were changed, then that means Applejack had a little unicorn sister and Rarity was part of the apple family. "Wow, this is... strange." Twilight was baffled, "It actually worked..."  It didn't take Twilight long to get back to what she was doing before Applejack and Rarity came over, studying.  She waved goodbye as the new earth pony and unicorn went to "enjoy" their new lives. "Okay, Rarity.  We'll need tah be back here by midnight on Tuesday.  Here we can settle the bet and see who wins.  Ready? Split!" Applejack called as she trotted down the street.  Rarity did the same.  It was almost lunch time and Rarity was  starved.  She knew that the next two days will be nothing but apples but, she was ready for it.  She trotted up the dirt road and gulped hard.  This was going to be a long two days... The small farmhouse was filled with family photos and the scent of apples.  There was apple cobbler and apple pies baking in the oven and it made Rarity's stomach growl.  Applebloom was hyper and skipping around the house, her big pink bow bouncing up and down.  It wasn't a pretty sight, she was breaking plates and vases and  it was really getting under Rarity's skin. "Applebloom, please calm down now." she sighed, she put on her fakest smile. "But, Rarity! I don't wanna!  I need tah get mah energy out and Big Mac won't let meh outside!" Applebloom whined. "And why's that?" Rarity scowled "He said that it's time for dinner.  But, ah don't wanna eat dinner ah wanna go play with Sweetie Belle over at the boutique." she squeaked, "Sweetie Belle is going to eat dinner also.  How about you help me set the table?" Rarity begged to Applebloom.  Anything to get her to calm down or get tired out.  It seemed to work beacause Applebloom nodded yes and ran into the kitchen. "Where's Granny Smith and Big Macintosh?" Rarity asked while she tried to open up the draw of utensils without any magic.  She had to wrap her hooficure around the handle and pull on it, it didn't feel very good.  Hopefully, she'll be able to get the hang of this because if she didn't, then she'll have to eat with her hooves tonight.
