Spring and Cookie

Dark Cookie awoke to a beeping sound and a bright light. His eyes starting to adjust, as a wall came into a view. 'Where in Equestria am I?' He thought as he took a look around the room. It was a large room with a window to his left and several medical machines around. He tried to sit up but felt a pain in his side. He looked down to see bandages wrapped around his body. 'What happened? Oh....wait a minute...I remember now...that damn pile  of twigs managed to get me on my side. Well from what it looks like I am in hospital.'

He heard a door open and hoof steps trotting over. Spring Leaf came into view and had worried expression on his face till he caught sight of Dark. Spring's expression changed from one of worry to relief. He ran over to the bed which his friend laid on and hugged him tightly.

"Uh what the buck are ya doing buddy?" Dark chuckled.

"Being extremely happy that someone I consider family is alive." Spring smiled and broke the hug.

"Somepony is just a big softy. It takes more than some pile of twigs to take life from this pegsi. Any ways how did you exactly get me here and where exactly is here?"

Spring smirked. "We have officially made it to Ponyville, turns out you were actually leading in the right direction somehow even if you didn't take that little peek above the trees in the Everfree. As for how I got you here, I had some help with that from a orange furred mare. She helped carry your sorry flank here."

"I see." Dark snickered. "So is she a cute mare?"

"What...?"

"Ya heard me Spring is she cute?"

"Well umm......" Spring was cut off from the door behind him opening and another pony came into Dark's view. An orange coated Earth pony with a blonde mane and Stetson hat.

"Ah it's good to see yer alright." she spoke with a smile.

Spring looked over at the mare with a blush and quickly turned back to Dark who had a grin on his face. "Yes, thank you for helping my friend get me to the hospital.  It's nice to meet ya. My is Dark Cookie and I am sure my friend here didn't introduce himself, so his name is Spring Leaf."

"It's nice to meet the both y'all as well. My name is Applejack." she nodded her head.

"Hm that's a nice name there and what do you do Applejack?"

"Well I work on my family's farm. Sweet Apple Acres is its name and we harvest and sell the apples."

"Interesting. Well Spring here grows and sells plants back in Manehatten." Dark stated.

'Cookie what are you up to you son of a bitch?' Spring glared at his friend.

"Oh hey, Applejack? Judging from my wounds, I will most likely have stay here for a while, but I was wondering if ya could take Spring on a tour of the town."

"Ah wouldn't mind at all. I'll even show him around the farm if he's up for it" Applejack offered.

They both looked at Spring. 'Crap, damn you Cookie....even when your in a hospital, you try to set me up. You tricky little.........*sigh* guess I have no say in the matter with him here.'

"I would love to have a tour of your farm." Spring forced a smile.

"Well now that you will be busy Spring I suggest ya get going. I do need my rest." Dark winked at him.

Spring narrowed his eyes. 'I will get you for this.'

"Follow me Spring, Ah am sure you will just love Ponyville." Applejack trotted over to the door, Spring sighed and followed the mare out of the room, the door closing behind them.

"She definitely is a cute mare and very nice as well. And a farm pony as well that is just a bonus for ya Spring. Hope he don't puss out of this. Now all I got to do is wait and see."

The door opened again and a mare with a white coat, pink mane and nurse hat came into view. She had a red cross on her flank. "Hello sir, it seems you are awake. I will go alert the doctor." She smiled.

"Hm well thanks miss....?"

"Oh you can call me Nurse Redheart." she told him before leaving.

Cookie smirked and laughed as soon as nurse left the room. 'Well I won't mind being in this hospital for a while with a nurse like that tending to my wounds.' he thought about how he will get some special treatment from Nurse Redheart. 'This vacation is already turning out to better than I had hoped. Have fun Spring with that farm mare.'

Spring was led from the hospital through Ponyville to a building that had the strong scent of sweets coming from it. Spring raised an eyebrow staring at the building for a few seconds. Applejack looked back at him with a giggle. "This here is Sugarcube Corner, where the best treats are made."

He looked at her then back at the building as she headed inside. He slowly followed her, the outside was colorful but the inside was definitely even more so. The scent of baked goods was even stronger. Inside were several booths to sit and enjoy the treats. As Spring's gaze was falling to the counter, a pink mare appeared out of no where in front of his face. He jumped back startled as Applejack laughed at him.

"Hey Applejack who is this pony? I don't know him and I know every pony in  Ponyville." the pink mare asked excitedly.

"Howdy Pinkie Pie. this here is Spring Leaf and he is from out of town. He and his friend Dark Cookie came here on vacation. So Ah am giving a tour."

Pinkie Pie started to hop and down. "I should throw them a 'Enjoy your stay in Ponville' party" she stopped her bouncing and looked around. "Where is his friend?"

Spring spoke up, "Well Cookie is in the hospital right now due to Timber wolf attack in the Everfree"

Both Pinkie Pie and Applejack looked at him slack jawed. He looked at them both with a confused expression. "What?"

"Ya never told me that how yer friend got his wound, why in all of Equestria were ya both in the Everfree forest?" Applejack asked curiously.

"Well uh...you see it was Cookie's idea to go through the Everfree to reach Ponyville. I was stupid enough to listen to him and follow. He said he wanted to go in for the thrill of adventure. To be honest, I think he has had too much sugar and reads too many of those Daring Do books." He explained with a sigh. "He was even warned back in Manehatten that he shouldn't go through there but that just made him want to do it even more. Hopefully he has learned to heed others advice after his injury even though I doubt he will."

Pinkie was the one to respond this time. "Really? Your friend likes sugar?  Does he like cupcakes? Maybe I should go and give him a get well cupcake or cupcakes...I can throw a 'Your Healed and Enjoy Your Stay In Ponyville' Party."

"Uh.... I am sure he would like some cupcakes....." Spring was thrown off by the fact that the other information didn't seem to affect the pink mare at all.

Pinkie Pie ran to the kitchen and came back out with a bag full of cupcakes. She nodded and ran out the door with the bag. Spring looked to Applejack as to what had just happened, she merely shook her head and told him not to question how Pinkie Pie works. He sighed and was led out of Sugarcube Corner.

The two ponies made their way to next location in the tour, which was Ponyville's library. Applejack explained to Spring that the library is home to her friend Twilight. He remembered hearing about Twilight from others that had entered his shop back home. From what he understood, she was the Element of Harmony that represented magic and was also Princess Celestia's personal student. Spring was curious to who the other Elements of Harmony were so he decided he should ask.

"So who exactly are the other Elements of Harmony?" Spring looked at Applejack.

"Ya have already met two of em'." She giggled.

Spring thought for second and his eyes went wide. "You mean to tell me, that you and Pinkie Pie are also Elements of Harmony?"

She nodded. "Ah reckon ya figured that Twilight is one with her being connected to Princess Celestia and all the talk that came after Nightmare Moon's defeat, but yeah Ah am one and so is Pinkie Pie. Ah am the Element of Honesty and Pinkie is the Element of Laughter. Ya will get to meet my friend Rarity who is the Element of Generosity, and maybe Rainbow Dash who is the Element of Loyalty."

"Wait what about the Element of Kindness?"

"Well that would be Fluttershy and Ah doubt ya will meet her today at least, her name is Fluttershy for a reason."

Spring was about to ask something but was cut off when he walked into something. He rubbed his head and looked up to see a large tree. He shook his head seeing the tree had a door and several windows all around. Applejack giggled at him and went to the door. She knocked on it and a voice inside, answered with "Coming."

The two ponies waited for a few seconds and the door opened up to reveal a light purple unicorn mare with a dark indigo mane that a strip of pink and purple go down it. The mare had a smile and greeted the two. "Hello Applejack. What brings you here?"

"Hiya Twi, I'm just given' this here stallion a tour. Also thought I'd introduce him to ya and the others." Applejack smiled.

Twilight looked at Spring Leaf and held out a hoof. "Nice to meet you, I'm Twilight Sparkle."

Spring held out hoof as well and shook hers. "Nice to meet you as well Miss Sparkle. My name is Spring Leaf."

Applejack yawned. "I reckon we best get going so ya see the rest of the town and meet the others."

Twilight looked at Applejack. "Well, instead of taking him to meet the other girls one by one, how about just bringing him to our get together tomorrow by the lake."

"That's a great Idea Twi. Shoot if his friend is feeling better, I could bring him as well."

"Friend?" Twilight tilted her head.

"Yeah, his friend I believe is named Dark Cookie?" the cow pony looked over to Spring for confirmation.

Spring nodded. "Yes, his name is Dark Cookie...and right now, he is probably.......Oh buck me....." Spring's eyes went wide. "Uh well is definitely nice meeting both of you girls but I must go back to the hospital to check on him. Applejack maybe we can continue this tour some other time. See you both at the lake tomorrow then bye." Spring took off back towards the hospital knowing that his friend will most likely do something to that nurse he passed.

Applejack and Twilight just watched Spring run off. Applejack turned to Twilight who was showing the same confused expression as she was.  So they both just shrugged and decided not to worry too much about it. Applejack said goodbye to Twilight and left to head back home while Twilight went back to her studying inside.

Spring managed to make it to the hospital just in time to see Dark Cookie walking out waving to a nurse and doctor. A smile plastered on his face. He turned to see Spring running up to him and the smile turned into a huge grin. Spring just looked at him with confused expression then shook his head trotting up to his pegasi friend.

The two walked away from the building without so much as a word being said. Dark was just snickering, thinking that his friend did any sexual acts. Spring on the other hoof was wondering why Dark was released so early from the hospital. The earth pony sighed and decided to break the silence.

"Dark..you were released rather early. Why is that?" he asked.

Cookie raised an eyebrow at the question and shrugged. " From what I was told, the injury I had received wasn't too serious for them to keep there over night so as long as I don't over work my body for a day or two I should be perfectly fine. Oh and some pink mare came bursting into my room with some cookies claiming that she knew you."

"That must have been Pinkie Pie, I met her at Sugarcube Corner. She is one of the Elements of Harmony."

"I see well she was definitely pretty bucking cute. Might enjoy time with her before this vacation is done." Cookie snickered.

"Dark you will do no such acts to any of the elements of harmony. Tomorrow we will meet them by some lake and hopefully make friends." Spring glared at Cookie.

Cookie sighed. "Fine, I will do my best to behave but no promises it will work. After all that nurse was the first of many on this little trip for me." He laughed.

Spring rolled his eyes as they made it a large building, that was at least 3 stories. Windows all around the front of it. The two walked up to the door and entered. The inside was very nice, giving off a kind of welcoming feel. The lobby was big and even had a a nice little couch off to the side. The two stallions went up to the counter across from the door where a yellow coated mare was waiting. Her mane was light blue. She gave off a wide smile.

"Welcome and how may I help you two?" she said happily.

Spring smiled. "We would like to have a room, please."

The mare nodded. "That will be 10 bits."

Spring nodded and reached into the pouch on his saddle bag. that he managed to retrieve after his little rump in the Everfree. He took out a bag full of bits and took exactly ten out of it. He placed them on the counter and the mare took them and handing him a key with a tag on it saying 'Rm 15' on it. She instructed them that their room was on the second floor.

The two thanked her and took a flight of stairs to the 2nd floor. Talking along the way, Spring was still a ittle worried about how their shops were holding up. Cookie just kept dismissing his worries telling him to enjoy this time away from work. The conversation managed to change from that to Cookie getting Spring to talk about his tour with Applejack. He was blushing and telling him that the tour was enjoyable but not in the way his friend was thinking.

They reached their room and went inside. The inside was just as relaxing, looking as the lobby was. Two beds were on one side of the room. A window from across the door giving a good view. A night stand was between the beds with a lamp on it. Spring smiled as the room was simple, and he trotted over to the bed closest to the window. He took off his saddlebag and laid it on the ground next to the bed. Cookie stretched out his wings and flapped them once. He went over to other bed closest to the door and quickly got in it.

"Tomorrow we will meet  the rest of the Elements of Harmony then finish the tour of the town maybe." Spring stated as he got into his bed.

Cookie snickered. "Yeah, should be fun. Hopefully ya will get a nice mare that won't be all bad for ya."

Spring sighed. "Maybe. Anyways let's get some rest. Goodnight Cookie."

"Meh, good night Spring" Cookie responded

With that the two friends dozed off into the realm of sleep.
