Fast forward a couple years from the gateways opening. Earth has become a melting pot for equestrians and humans alike as the two begin to mingle, but tensions still run high for some as they are still wary of their new neighbors intentions. Back in Equestria though, a young mare coming of age is yearning to find her place in the world. So after a birthday trip that takes her on a brief adventure into the new land, she finds what she has been yearning for, and seeks to start her life anew in the foreign realm. But what challenges will she face as she begins her journey on the path into the unknown?
