Imagine Twilight Sparkle, years and years from now.

Being interviewed by an eager reporter, covering a Princess, one who was actually eager to be interviewed.

"Twilight Sparkle," The reporter says, "We've all heart about your adventures with the Elements of Harmony, and we all

know the ones before your new group," As her friends from the past were now long gone, new Elements of Harmony were

found. "Do you ever miss your old friends?"

A pause.

She opens her muzzle to speak, her voice cracking lightly before regaining it's usual confidence,

"Yes. I do."

"Explain please?"

"How I miss them?"

"Yes," The reporter confirms.

"Alright then, I will.

My friends were the first in a long list of many. I had been so shy at first, heh, that seems like forever ago. My first friend was

my brother, who I confided to for everything. I miss him every time I see the Royal Guards, I wish he was still here.

My second was Princess Cadence, you all know her. I still confide to her, though not as much as I had when I was younger.

Whenever I see her, I miss the friendship we had, all those years ago.

My third was Princess Celestia, I miss her whenever I see her as well, but I know she is happily training her new Student."

The reporter takes a moment to take in this information, before adding in a comment, "I mean the old Elements of Harmony."

"Ah," The Princess laid back, blinking back the wetness that was quickly gathering in her eyes as she continued,

"I miss them so much. More then I miss the sun at night, and the moon in the mornings. More than I miss the coolness of

Winter in the Summer, and the warmth of Summer in the Winter.

I miss Rainbow Dash, every rainbow reminds me of her. Every drop of rain coming from a dark cloud, far away. Every cool

breeze in the Summer reminds me of how she was. How she will be remembered as.

And oh, Rarity, every fabric I wear reminds me of her. She made my  Royal first dress, and many after that. She was so

beautiful, they all were, but I admired her most. She never seemed to have a flaw, and her curls were so beautifully

designed.

Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter. She always made every pony smiled, every laugh I hear, whether next to me or carried

by the wind, reminds me of that sweet pink mare I knew so long ago. Every ray of sunshine reminds me of the ray she was,

how lucky every pony was to know her.

Apple Jack, a ray of sunshine herself,"

She paused, closing her eyes in memory.

"So admirable, so determined. She worked until she gave out, and then after. Made every pony realize what they had, she

had an Apple Farm, and she was one of the happiest mares I knew. When I think of her, I know she is still happy.

Fluttershy, she was adorable. I miss her now, for we could use her in the Forest again," She let out an open chuckle. The

forests were well taken care of, she knew, by Fluttershys' granddaughter, she had forgotten the young mares name.

"Every squawk Celestias' Phoenix lets out reminds me of the time Fluttershy took care of it. But that story is old, and I shan't

bore you.

I remember her every time I see or hear an animal, the chirp of a bird, the growl of a bear, the soft purr of a cat. It all brings

back memories shivering through me, of a pony, too shy to say a word.

They were all I cared for back then, perhaps they are one of the main things I care for now."

The tears that had formed so silently had allowed small streams to form down the Princesses' cheek.

"In a way, they are with me. In the spirits of every pony I meet, in the new Elements of Harmony even. They were so unique

though, and it's hard to not miss them.

And it's hard to miss them, too. I know you wont understand, but in a way, they are with me always. I don't have to go

anywhere to feel how I feel now. I feel as though every time I remember them, they are there. No need to visit their graves,

though I do that often.

Everything reminds me of them, yet I forget so often. It's been far too long without them, every memory, every word, it brings

back memories, yet my mind is always too preoccupied to remember them.

They're each like a day, one moment it's here, the next, it's not. It could be the best day of your life, but you'll only

remember it every so often, taking it in, wishing you were still in that time, having the most fun you could have, but then a

day will come where it's funner than every other day, and you forget the 'best day of your life' because there is a new one.

In a way, they made me. And I'll miss them always, but I know when it is time to move on."

The reporter gazed at her, they had formed tears of their own, hearing the Princess recall her friends memories, as though

they were fresh as yesterday. Their voice shuddered as they asked, "And did you move on?"

Twilight gazed at him blankly for a moment, her face reading no expression before she nodded, looking to the ceiling as if it

were the sky,

"I suppose I did, just now."

"How so?"

Her gaze stayed at the ceiling, and her lips stayed still for a moment, allowing the reporters' words to linger in her mind for a

moment longer,

"I cannot explain without a thousand words to be spoken, or none at all." She slowly looked from the ceiling, a smile danced

across her lips as she nodded to the reporter, who quickly finished the interview.
