RainbowDash and Spike

In a little town called Ponyville, a resident purpole scales and green spined dragon has grown since the last time we saw him. He has grown a bit, he's about a foot taller of a stallion when he stands to his legs. His spikes have grown and gotten a little sharper. He has a bit of a crocdillian snout now, and he has wings. Spike, doesn't know that today is going to break his heart.

"Morning Carrot Top." Spike said, waving at his friend.

"Good Morning Spike." Carrot Top replied.

Today, Spike was running some errans for his friend/mother/sister Twilight Sparkle. If a new person to town had a good look at him, they might scream and run away in fear, but everyone in ponyville knew that Spike was a vegetartian.

"Good morning AJ." Spike said, stopping by her stand.

A orange mare turned around, her blonde mane showing in the sun, and smiled. Her three spple cutie mark was showing, and her trademark stetson hat was on her head.

"Well howdy Spike, whatcha' doing over here so early?" Applejack greeted smiling at her draconian friend.

"Well, I'm getting some apples for Twi's expirement to see if she can change the apple to blue instead of red." Spike said, pulling his bits out and counting them to see if they're the right ammount.

"Don't ya worry 'bout nuthin' Spike, it's on me." Apple jack said, grabbing a couple of apples and giving them to Spike.

"Thanks Applejack, see ya later." Spike said, grabbing the apples and walking back to a old tree, known as the library, also known as the home of Twilight Sparkle and Spike.

"Finally Spike, what took you so long?" Twilight asked, as Spike entered the house.

"Just went by and said hi to Applejack, and here's the apples." Spike said, holding out the apples.

A purple magic surrounded the apples and went over to some beakers, and were set down right next to them.

"Thanl you, my number one assistant." Twilight said, mixing some bottles together, and making a weird smel across the library.

Spike mummbled something that wasn't audible and walked over to Twilight and said, "I'm going to ask Rarity out today."

Twilihgt looked at him and giggled a little bit, "Spike, when will you ever learn that Rarity likes you as a friend, not a drakefriend?"

Spike growled and said, "Well, at least I'll try."

Twilight smiled, before hearing a loud crash, and said, "Rainbowdash is here Spike, go talk to her, I'm a bit busy."

Spike smiled, and said, "Alright then."

Spike walked upstairs, out of the basement, and looked at the room; he could see a opened window, then looked down to a pile of books on the floor, and sighed.

A head popped out of the pile of books, a cyan furred head to be exact, and said, "Hi Spike."

Spike looked apon the mess, and asked, "Well, Rainbow, what brings you to my not so humble abode?"

Rianbowdash then smiled, and said, "I'm looking for the latest Daring Doo book. You have it yet?"

Spike looked at her, and said, "As I said yesterday, the next book doesn't come out for a month, so stop asking, I'll let you know when we have it."

Rainbow then looked at him, and asked, "You going to ask Rarity out again?"

Spike looked at her, and asked, "Am I really that easy to read?"

Rainbow smiled, and said, "I've known you since you were a little guy Spike, you're not so different mentally, you're just different physically."

Spike frowned, and said, "I'll take that as a compliment."

Rainbow smiled, and said, "Well, gotta fly, good luck with Rarity."

Spike smiled, and said, "Thanks."

Rainbowdash then flew out of sight, and Spike started to clean her mess up.

Tonight, I'll ask Rarity out. Spike though, smiling.

---Some time later---

Spike got his teeth brushed, his scales cleans, and his spikes straight.

"I'm going out!" Spike said, walking downstairs.

"What?" Twilight asked, looking at him with a confused face.

"'I said I'm going out!" Spike said, walking towards the door.

"Alright good luck." Twilight said, turning her attention back at the book.

The sun was setting, making all the cloud orange and pink, with a mix of red. Spike was walking towards the Botique, where a white unicorn named Rarity lived, with her sister Sweetie Belle.

Spike knocked on the door, and heard a voice say, "Coming."

The door opened to show his crush; Rarity.

Spike smiled, and Rarity asked, "Spike, what are you doing here?"

Spike then cleared his throat, feeling butterflies in his stomach, and asked, "Rarity, will you go on a date with me?"

Rarity smiled, and said, "Sorry my little Spikey-wikey, but I'm already seeing someone, but I can hope we can still be friends."

Spike's green spikes dropped, and he said, "I understand."

He then started walking away, his tail dragging after him, and his wings drooping down, dragging along the floor.

Rarity sighed, and said, I hope I did the right thing."

Rainbowdash was sleeping on Mccloud nearby, and heard their conversation. She sighed, feeling sorry for her reptilian friend.

"I wish I could help Spike out...Wait a second, I've got an idea!" Rainbowdash exclaimed, and race off to her house.

---Some time later---

Spike walked into the library, and sighed.

Twilight looked at him, and asked, "How'd it go?" SPike just walked past her, and went upstairs to his bed.

That was weird, I thought I saw a tear rolling down his cheek. Twilight thought, she then looked down to see a few drops of water on the floor.

"Poor Spike." Twilight said, looking upstairs and hearing a sniffle.
