My name is Ink Draft. I am a student at Canterlot castle, and my duty is to study the history of Equestria, and it's previous events. I have chosen to use my personal diary as my final testimony to the ponies caught by the ongoing conflict taking place as I write. I pray to that whoever finds this, heeds it as a warning, and use it's knowledge wisely, so that future generations may not suffer from such a tragedy like the one this book contains. As I hear the riot rumbling outside the door to my cell, I feel obliged to write down what has happened here, so that there might be a slight chance that any similar disaster can be prevented in the future, if so is necessary. I would also ask that whoever find this text, gives it to the people it rightfully belongs to; The ponies of Canterlot, for it is they who have suffered, and will continue to suffer, if this chaos does not end. May their losses not be in vain.
