Luna frowned at the cage like structure that surrounded her and the blonde fighter, Alistair, who accompanied her. She could make out a chest on the far side of the room. Inside that chest were their armor and weapons.
"So much for a silver lining. And I thought things were going so well." Alistair commented in a sarcastic tone, causing the silence to shatter.
"Thou cannot blame the winch for her actions." Luna sighed solemnly before smiling weakly. "She only sought the love of he father."
Alistair laughed slightly. "Yes, because capturing the two traitorous Grey Wardens, and letting all their companions go is such a wonderful idea." Alistair forced his voice to a higher, mocking note. "Daddy, look! I caught the Wardens. But, or course, their tiny army is still at large. Love me!"
Luna burst into laughter. "That would be a sight to see!" Luna continued to laugh; her slightly curled azure hair bouncing as she did so. She was soon joined by the rambunctious laughter of Alistair.
Within minutes, the room was once again plunged into silence. Luna looked up at the ceiling high and walls that loomed high above the two captives. As she did so, a strange memory crept into her mind.
The dark blue filly ran into a large room, squealing in delight. She quickly hopped into a
box with the word 'moon' on its side.
A white mare fallowed the filly, roaring as if she were a monster. "Rawr! Where did it
go? Where is that troublesome princess?" She dramatically swung her head from side
to side, her pink mane flowing with her movement.
As a pillow hit the alabaster mare, the dark filly jumped from the box hollering, "I shall
smite you!" As her attacks continued, the mare fell, pretending to be dead.
" Hello? Earth to Luna." Alistair waved his hand in front of the girl's face. Luna blinked and looked at him quizzically. "You've been starring at that wall for so long, I thought you had been sucked into the Fade or something like that."
"Thou need not worry for the princess of the night." Luna smiled at the man in front of her. " Taws simply thinking of thy sister, Celestia."
"Speaking of your sister," Alistair sat on the ground next to Luna. "What did you mean by she sent you here?"
The question struck Luna. She hadn't expected to have to attempt to explain any of this to anyone. " I grew jealous. Our subjects adored her and showered her in love and respect. Though, 'twas much different for me, as I ruled over the night. They feared and despised me. My jealousy soon turned to hatred. The hatred towards my sister only grew with each passing day. Before long, it began to consume me." Luna let out a sorrow filled sigh. "A ethereal creature of power came to me to help me over through my sister. It took me over, much like the demons of this world. Thus, I challenged her to a duel. I refused to lower the moon and make way for the light of the sun to overtake the night. Our battle was no more than a few minutes; however, I, the looser, have been banished from Equestria for 1,000 years. Though, her spell misfired, and sent me here rather than sending me to the moon as she had intended."
Luna's Adventures in Thedas
Arrival
Luna let out a groan as she came to. She was lying on the ground, broken branches and leaves surrounded her. She felt odd but could not pinpoint why. As she moved, her muscles screamed. Something was wrong. Luna’s eyes suddenly flung open.
“What!” The princess screeched as she saw herself, “N-no. What happened? She wouldn’t dare! I’m… I’m human…” Luna sat up and looked around. Lying at her side was a sword. She quickly grabbed it and stood. “Something tis not correct about this place. It does not look like the place beyond the mirror.”
“Over there!” Luna heard the shout. In her frantic state, Luna could not figure out what direction the shout had come from. She looked around desperately trying to find where it had come from.
Within seconds, a man came through the brush. He wore black leather armor covered in straps and buckles, running all the way up his arms. He wore a grey tunic, adorned with a symbol of a rearing griffon. A set of twin daggers hung from his belt. With him was a young, blonde lad in gold scale-mail armor. He looked as Luna wearily. "Who or what are you?" The man demanded, his cold eyes trained on the princess.
"I will not be hassled into answering your questions." She responded.
"Mind your manners boy." The first man scolded. His voice was aged yet full of life. "I apologize for Alistair's rudeness. My name is Duncan."
"Luna. I am Princess Luna of Equestria." she responded quickly.
"I am afraid I do not know of any land called Equestria." Duncan responded, much to Luna's surprise.
"I wouldn't trust her if I were you, who knows what kind of magic it knows." Alistair commented from beside the older man.
"I will no have my name slandered so!" Luna retorted, getting upset. Luna glared at the man, him glaring back.
Duncan took the moment of silence as an opportunity. "Perhaps you could be of assistance to me." When all he received was a questioning glance, Duncan continued. "I am part of Ferelden's Grey Wardens. With the encroaching darkspawn threat, we need as many able men and women to fight with us as possible. If you were to join the order, it would be very much appreciated."
Alistair glanced at him in surprise, "We just met this women, how do we know she's not a spy, or a demon? How do we know if she can even use that sword?"
"If she's made it this far into the Brecilian forest, I'm sure the girl can handle herself." Duncan smiled at Alistair reassuringly. Turning back to Luna, he continued, "What do you say?"
"Tis my duty to serve the people. If joining your cause is a way of atonement, then I shall." Luna sighed with relief. "Lead the way, Sir Duncan."
“Ho there, Duncan.” I man in gold armor said, approaching the trio as they came to the front of a giant ruin.
“King Cailan,” Duncan replied, clasping the man’s for-arm. “I didn’t expect a-”
“A royal welcome?” Cailan interrupted. “I was beginning to worry that you’d miss all the fun.” He smiled then, a wide, cocky smile.
“Not if I can help it, your majesty.” Duncan responded, darkly.
“Then I’ll have the mighty Duncan at my side in battle after all.” The man responded, smiling. “Glorious.” His face fell to a more serious reaction. “I hear you’ve found a promising recruit. I take it this is she?” He looked over at Luna.
“Allow me to introduce you, your majesty.” Duncan proceeded.
Cailan stepped in front of the older man. “No need to be so formal, Duncan. We’ll be shedding blood together after all.” Turning his attention to the small female in front of him, he continued. “Ho there friend, might I know your name?”
“I am Luna, Princess Luna.” She responded coolly, bowing slightly.
“A princess?” He seemed surprised. “From where do you hail?”
“I am from Equestria, though your friend seems unfamiliar with my homeland.” She looked on, past the king then. She gazed off across the large stone bridge. Archers stood at the ready at different points across the bridge. Soldiers, adorned in armor, walked across the bridge in the opposite direction of the princess, towards the stone structures that stood tall on the other side of the bridge. Somehow Luna knew that once she'd crossed the crumbling stone bridge, everything would change, though she didn't know how.
Luna's Adventures in Thedas
Okay, so. I got my account back and can now continue working on this story. I've been really lazy about righting lately, so it may take some time between chapter releases, but i am working again. Thank you to those of you who supported me.
Luna's Adventures in Thedas
"I will ask but once more, my sister. Lower the moon, or I will have to send you away." A tear rolled down Celestia's alabaster face as she repeated her warning over again. The black mare before her only grinned, showing white teeth accompanied by sharp canines. Her midnight blue ethereal mane and glowing eyes gave the mare a frightening presence.
The mare simply laughed. "Thou art but a foal! You're dear sister tis no more. All that remains tis I, Nightmare Moon." She grinned at Celestia mockingly. "And with thine new found power, the night will last forever!" The mare laughed wickedly, sending chills down Celestia's spine.
"Then you leave me no choice, " Celestia frowned at the weight of her decision. "I must send you away. To the moon. For one thousand years." Celestia could barely speak. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Sorrow choked at her, making it hard to speak, but still, she did what she had to.
Spreading her front hooves apart, Celestia prepared to attack. Her movements were cut short, however, as a black bolt of energy sent her hurtling into the castle wall. As Celestia dropped to the ground, Nightmare Moon laughed. She looked down on the white princess as she stood over her, grinning triumphantly.
Celestia slowly lifted herself up, only to be slammed to the ground by the black mare. "Thou truly art weak,” the nightmarish princess taunted. "Tis a wondrous feat that anypony looks upon thou with respect. Thou art but an insect."
Celestia kicked out at the mare, as her anger grew. Her kick sent Nightmare Moon stumbling backwards. "You will pay for your crimes against Equestria!" Celestia stood firm, a golden aura engrossing her horn. Suddenly a golden beam shot from the princess, towards the mare.
Seeing what was coming, Nightmare Moon let out a shriek of horror. Quickly thinking she made a midnight blue shield around herself, but it was no match. As she was engulfed by a brilliant gold, the mare screamed out. "Celestia! Please stop!" But as the last words slipped from her mouth, a bright flash lit the room.
When Celestia opened her eyes, she was alone. Tears began to fall from her face as she looked where her sister had been only moments ago. "Forgive me, Luna." With a glance at the sky, Celestia sighed before raising the sun. She could only hope that her sister would find some joy in her new surroundings.
