This citizen being the local town librarian- Twilight Sparkle. "Where is it, where is it? Portals, portals- Spike! Where are the books on portals?" Twilight called to her assistant. "It's under 'P', like it always is." Spike replied dryly. "Ah here it is; "Starswirl the Bearded's Big Book of Quantum Gateways"! Now, what does it say about black portals with purple centers... Here it is, 'The Dark Portal: A portal known to appear from what we can conceive as being made from another dimension. These portals can lead anyone anywhere based on the dimension of origin'. Kinda mysterious if I do say so myself. What do you think Spike?" Twilight asked. "It seems a little dangerous actually. Then again, when in out lives these days hasn't something been dangerous? Oh well, I'm guessing you want me to gather the other elements for a group discussion on the looming portal now sitting in our living room, right?" Spike had been in these situations many times before; and it always ended up the same, something mysterious happens, Twilight and her friends venture out to figure out it's purpose, the mystery is solved and the problem goes away as if it never happened. "Of course I want you to gather the others. I can feel that this is going to be one heck of an adventure." Just as Twilight finished her sentence, Pinkie burst through the door gasping for air. "Twilight! My Pinkie sense was acting up in a really weird way, and I rushed over as soon as I could and *GASP* is that a portal, where does it go? Or do you not know? Are we going to-" "Pinkie!" Twilight cut off Pinkie. "I'm glad that your here, and I can hope that your questions will be answered soon, but for now we need to gather the other elements." Just as she said that, as if on queue the other main six ponies burst through the door and seated themselves. "Ah, and there they are." "Greetings everypony, I can guess that you all are anticipating an explanation. A few days ago this portal just up and appeared in my home and I haven't been able to move or break it since. I have gained permission from the princesses for us all to enter it if that is required. I took this into consideration and after noticing the endless possibilities of where it could lead, I just have to go through. And so I gathered you all here today to ask you to accompany me. Although that is entirely your option." The group mulled over their decision en mass as Twilight eagerly awaited beside the portal. After a good few minutes the group finally disbanded and was ready to speak. "Well... It could be really awesome to be one of the first ponies to ever go into another dimension." Rainbow Dash started. "And imagine all the plant life." Applejack continued. "Or even the animals!" Fluttershy added rather enthusiastically. "Oh and just imagine the new possibilities it could hold in the name of fashion!" Rarity gawked. "And then we could party!" Pinkie closed. It was unanimous, the ponies would enter the dark portal. "Well alright girls, let's get a move-on. Through the portal we go." "WAIT! Can I come too? You never let me on your adventures." It was true, Spike never had. Twilight mulled this over for a few moments. "Well, you are a growing dragon and I think that it may be time I let you out of the house, so even with the knowledge that it could be extremely dangerous, are you sure you want to-" "YES" Spike interrupted Twilight. "Well alright then, come on everypony. Through the Dark Portal!
