Seemingly out of nowhere, a new disease strikes Equestria. It lingers in the body unnoticed for a few days, then before you know it, you're on the ground, dying. That, however, is not the problem. The illness survives inside the host, and reanimates the corpse. The only transmission after the first mutations- a bite. Given how peaceful Equestria once was, the innocent citizens of this magical land stood no chance. With incubation time being 12 hours at most, the disease soon spread all over the place, effectively killing off most of Equestria's population. Things went to hell before Celestia had a chance to even issue a Pandemic Alert, and now only the luckiest and most physically fit ponies remained. Certain key areas have been seized and heavily defended, now known as safe zones. First attempts to stump the spread of disease resulted in random quarantine camps located everywhere, now, having been cleaned out, being used as makeshift strongholds. Only a few civilians survived... Rainbow Dash is one of them. Now she is on a quest to keep her friends safe and possibly save Equestria, but fate is determined to make it hard for her.
