Apple Cider
Drinking a nice glass of apple cider has always been Rainbow Dash's biggest ambition, besides becoming one of the Wonderbolts of course. Before moving to Ponyville, she came all the way from Cloudsdale in order to buy some cider when the Apple family was selling them. Despite that, she never had any luck with getting cider. No matter how early she got there, she was always too late to get even a single glass.
Fortunately for the rainbow-maned pegasus, she was going to have her first glass with her friends right now. After a celebratory toast for saving Sweet Apple Acres, Rainbow Dash was more than ready to drink her cider.
“I want to do that as well,” Derpy said extending her glass towards Rainbow Dash.
“Fine,” a reluctant Rainbow Dash told her, “but let me drink my cider right after this.”
“Yay!” Derpy then slammed her cup against Rainbow Dash's, shattering both of them. Some pieces of wood flew into both of Rainbow Dash's eyes. “Oops. My bad,” Derpy apologized.
When the pain of the wood lodged in her eyes wasn't as bad, Rainbow Dash went up to Apple Bloom and asked her, “Since you got plenty more cider, can I get another glass?”
“No can do Rainbow Dash,” Apple Bloom answered. “We're all sold out.”
“HOW THE HAY CAN YOU BE OUT ALREADY???!!! We should have more than enough now! Look at all these barrels!” But when Rainbow Dash gazed at where the barrels were supposed to be, they were all missing.
“It's not my fault! Berry Punch and Colgate bought all the barrels.”
“Two ponies drinking all that cider?! That's insane! All I need is one glass of cider and those two get THAT MUCH?!”
“Sorry, but we need the money.”
“What about you just go up to them and ask them for some pretty please with cupcakes on top?” Pinkie Pie suggested.
“Well, I have no other choice...” sighed Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash then flew off on the way to where Berry Punch and Colgate live. Even with her sight impaired due to the splinters stuck in her eyes, Rainbow Dash was still able to find a cart carrying many barrels of cider. Berry Punch and Colgate were both pulling it.
Rainbow Dash landed in front of the blue unicorn and asked her, “Can you find it in your heart to give this poor pegasus some of your apple cider?”
“Of course,” Colgate said.
“Are you sure?” Berry Punch asked her.
“Why not?”
“All I want is one glass,” Rainbow Dash said.
“One glass?” Berry Punch inquired.
“It wouldn't hurt to give it to her,” Colgate stated.
“Fine, but one glass is all you're getting.”
Overjoyed, Rainbow Dash went over to Colgate and told her, “THANK YOU SO MUCH! You don't know how much this means to me!” She then kissed the unicorn on her lips. Rainbow Dash could see that her entire face was bright red from blushing.
Looking quite annoyed, Berry Punch asked, “After you get what you want, will you just let us be?”
“I will! But first the cider!”
Berry Punch then filled a cup for Rainbow Dash and gave it to her. Once Colgate eagerly said goodbye to Rainbow Dash and resumed pulling the cart with Berry Punch, Rainbow Dash was just about to have her cider. All of the sudden, a bird pooped into her cup.
Outraged that a bird pooped in her cider, Rainbow Dash looked around for the first bird to take out her revenge on. She soon found an orange chicken. For some reason, it looked very familiar. Rainbow Dash didn't know if they could fly or not, but she couldn't afford to take any chances. She swiftly grabbed the chicken and flew upwards as fast as she could.
“Is this some sort of awesome flying lesson Rainbow Dash?” the chicken asked her.
She was still furious, so she didn't respond to her question. Rainbow Dash then hurled the orange chicken right at the sun as hard as she could. While the chicken on the sun was screaming in agony as she burned up, Rainbow Dash heard a familiar voice.
“RAINBOW DASH!!!” Twilight shrieked. “Why would you even do something like that?!”
Rainbow Dash flew down to Twilight and shouted, “A CHICKEN POOPED IN MY CIDER!!!”
“And that justifies what you just did to Scootaloo?”
“Wait, that was Scootaloo?”
Rainbow Dash was found guilty of throwing Scootaloo into the sun, so she was sentenced to jail. Worse, she didn't get any cider at all. There wasn't much room in her cell to fly around, so much of what Rainbow Dash did was cry about the cider that she never got.
Sooner or later, Rainbow Dash's friends came to visit her. Pinkie Pie felt sorry for her, so she gave Rainbow Dash the very last cup of cider that Berry Punch was willing to give out. Rainbow Dash gladly took it. Since there are no Derpys or birds to ruin things in jail, nothing could possibly go wrong. Just then, Pinkie Pie's tail began to twitch very hard. A cracking noise sounded from above Rainbow Dash. Suddenly, a huge chunk of the ceiling fell right onto her cup. All of the cider that was spilled quickly drained through the cracks of the stone floor, effectively preventing Rainbow Dash from having any of it.
“IT JUUUUUUST ISN'T FAAAAAAIIIIIIR!!!” Rainbow Dash screamed with all her frustration.
“If it makes ya feel any better, there's always next year,” Applejack reassured.
Yeah, next year. Next year, Rainbow Dash is going to do whatever it takes to have a glass of cider. Just wait and see everypony...
