Prologue

The Princess looked at the remains of her once great empire.  The meteors had come so soon, they weren't ready. Not even the physical embodiments of the elements of harmony had made it past  the first stages of the game. The princess shed a tear as her sister walked into the room.

“Sister, you did your best. We must accept our fate now. Every great civilization is meant to fall at one time or another.”

The princess turned, “Not like this Luna! They are meant to gradually die or be taken over by opposing kingdom. Not slaughtered in some sick twisted game that the Gods have decided to play!”

Luna took a step back, he sister wasn't normally like this, “Tia, what is the matter?”

The princess looked enraged at this, “The matter?  Look at this Luna! Look at the craters left behind from the meteors! All we have worked for is dead!  Nothing remains of Equestria but craters! And there is no sign of stopping!” The princess walked out to look at the carnage that remained of her society.  It had only been yesterday when the meteors started coming.  No, that was the past and she couldn't think about it anymore.  “Live in the present” her mother used to say.

“But Tia, it's not your fault!” Luna said running outside after her sister.

“Then whose fault is it Luna? Those accursed humans who started  talking to my pupils? Twilight Sparkle for initiating the chain?  Or perhaps you want to blame it yourself?” the princess turned to face her sister, “You know very well whose fault it was.”  A meteor exploded against the shield protecting the floating city of Canterlot, the mountain that had once held it now destroyed.

“You cannot blame him! You saw this coming as well as I did! Dark Dawn is not the source of our problems! Whether or not he played it still would have come! The Reckoning always  comes! No matter what session!”

The princess sighed, her sister was right. Another meteor hit the shield and the princess fell to the ground, Luna's horn instantly flared up with magic as her sister temporarily lost control of the shield holding Canterlot in place. Luna's knees buckled as she tried to hold the shield in place. She wasn't used to holding this much magic.  Her sister finally maintained her composure and  nudged Luna telling her she could stop now.  Luna's horn  finished emitting magic and The Princess continued powering Canterlot's floating city.

Luna looked at her sister with worry, “You know we can't keep powering the city for long. It might almost be time for us to leave.”

Princess Celestia looked down as Luna continued, “We can't keep the castle safe and maintain the shield for much longer, you've been doing it for a full twenty four hours. You know better then I do  that the meteors are just going to keep coming. This is a doomed timeline. We must go.”

“No. You must go. I will keep the city powered for as long as I can, and then...”

Luna looked shocked, “But Celestia, you can't possibly leave yourself all alone here! What if you die? I couldn't possibly bear the thought!”

“Then you know you must make the mission succeed. Take the TARDIS and go”

Luna opened her mouth to speak but then turned to walk away,  before she did she turned back and embraced her sister, “I love you Tia.  Please don't die.”

Celestia smiled, “Then you must make sure your mission is a success. Now go bef-”  before she could finish a massive meteor hit the shield, shattering it, Celestia screamed  out in pain as the spell protecting the castle was now done

“TIA!!!” Luna turned and ran for her sister but Celestia's magic caught her and teleported her to the basement where the Tardis  was.  An explosion rocked the ground around her and she suddenly couldn't feel the presence of her sister anymore, it was over.... Princess Celestia... was dead.  Luna wiped away her tears and ran through the corridors  towards where they had hid the  Tardis.

Luna ran through the empty halls toward the tardis as she suddenly realized she was thrown onto the ceiling. The TARDIS was nearby, she could feel it but the city was falling from the sky,   She screamed as she faced her doom coming towards her  but out of the corner of her eye she saw the Tardis  heading down the hallway, she used the last bit of her magic to teleport to the door.  She whipped open the door, jumped in and slammed the door shut.  She closed her eyes and listened to the flow of the timestream as this doomed timeline came to an end, She opened her eyes and flipped a switch and jettisoned herself back into the past.
