Celestia is displeased. VERY displeased. After the Royal Wedding changeling fiasco, she feels that her current royal guard is simply not sufficient in keeping both the royal family and the citizens of Equestria safe.

Unfortunately for Shining Armor, most of this displeasure is directed towards him; the only thing he can do to restore his reputation is to rebuild the guard from the ground up. But who can help him do this when the changeling paranoia runs high and many of the guard can't trust each other, much less their Captain?

Enter one (un)lucky mercenary from the border guard, a couple Wonderbolts, and (strangely) a royal Librarian. Will they have what it takes to reform the Royal Guard for the better, or will they all end up on the moon?
