Soulless World

A white horse like creature stood right in front of me. I clicked on my audio set to be able to speak with it.

“Do you Speak Russian?” I said in Russian. It just looked at me in horror and took a step back. “Do you speak German?” again I was greeted with the same look. Maybe it speaks English? “Do you speak English?” again it looked at me in horror but now it’s mouth was practically on the floor. “Well it’s a start.” I said in English, I switched off the speaker. ”Computer does your holographic projector still work?”

“Yes would you like me to project AF Greeting?” The female voice said in my helmet.

“Yes since we don’t have Earth greeting.” My helmet had a little camera on the side that can record anything and project holographic images.

The camera started projecting a blinking blue light out to him and then turned into a screen of a blue field it stopped about one foot from my helmet. His face turned to absolute fear usually their faces should be of curiosity but this will work out I guess. On the screen an image popped up the symbol of all AF forces. The coat of arms a navy blue shield with to silver swords crossed behind it and gold star in the center. After rotating the image for a few seconds it then showed an average soldier in his combat uniform. The screen was then replaced by the Flag of my nation and two others the US flag and the Soviet flag waving in the wind. The image then showed AF troops helping people construct shelters and teaching children in schools. The words “We are friends we fight for freedom and peace.” Rolled past the screen, the video then shut off

I looked at the unicorn like creature and looked at his face to see it still in shock. I chuckled to myself and flipped on my speech. “Well that’s it folks.”

“Indeed.” A new female voice sounded and walking up to the unicorn was a very tall version of him but with wings and to her left was a slightly shorter dark blue version of her.

“So you do speak English.” I said with sarcasm in my voice.

“Silence Human!” her voice doubled in a yell so loud it snapped the guard out of his trance so he could cover his ears with his hooves. “What brings you to My Kingdom?!”

“Classified” She got real close to the bars of the cage and peered her face to it

“You better tell me or I will destroy you and rip you apart.” Her voice was of ice but didn’t affect me. If I didn’t have my helmet on my face would have stayed the same but to the guard he was looking at her with fear in his eyes.

“Classified and even if you were an Alliance nation I wouldn’t be able to tell you my name anyways.” I could tell she could feel my glare I sent right back at her.

“So be it, But you will remain here as a prisoner of Equestria.” I have the right to if needed to act on my own if cut off from contact with Leviathan. So I did what most people with a death wish would do. I stuck my face right in front of hers and said. “Are you going to shoot rainbows at me?”

She glared at me directly into the eye when the one from my dream came into view behind her. “Sister we have spoken with him and he would pose no threat endless we attempt to harm him.” The blue one spoke with care.

“Luna I cannot let him go his kind has threatened Equestria before and taken countless lives of ponies.” She turned to her sister still with the rage she had on me but a tad bit calmer. “Shining Armor what do you think on this human’s fate?” the white one turned to face who I presume to be Shining Armor to respond to her question.

“I-I uh think we should keep him here in the Castle and hold him prisoner until we think he can be released.”  Maybe scaring him wasn’t a great idea.

“You will pose no threat to Equestria will you?” Luna came up to the gate with big eyes. I remained quiet.

“Luna, Shining leave us.” the other two turned and left the hallway they were in. “Why are you here…” her voice sounded saddened I could sense she was in pain of something from the past.

“Mistake I just woke up here after running for my life.” I joked at her. She made an audible sigh.

“You are the first Human to be in Equestria for three thousand years the last time a human was here there was a portal to this world that was built for the free passage of both our species… it seems I missed one.” This information started making sense if you told me two days ago Earth was visited by magical talking horses I would call you a crazy and walk away but seeing it and matching it to mythological creatures it made sense.

“Why not send me back? I got a duty to attend to.” made sense to me.

“The gate that I missed is what brought you here and it was old and without repair as a result when you arrived the gate exploded and caused a great earthquake… I’m more surprised you lived.” She said.

So now I have no way back and something tells me that someone knew this would happen and wanted to destroy it before it added more problems to the world. “Understood.” She just looked at me with a blank face.

“Tell me more about your world.” She said in the same sad tone.

“You saw the vid there is the basic of it.” She didn’t look amused

“I want to know your world’s history and its achievements.” She… was interested? One moment ago she wanted to destroy me and now she wants to hear the story of Humanity?

“Well it’s not a pretty one… Humanity has always been plagued by war and hate.” She looked even more saddened. “But it has beauty in it as well; I can’t give you a whole Human History lesson because it’s too long and I don’t trust you.”

“I understand and why do you remain in the cage I know you can rip the bars off.” She was right although my hands have the same strength as they would without the metal gloves the arms have strength that can easily rip those bars off.

“I could but don’t want to escape yet.” I have nowhere to go anyways.

“Even thousands of years ago humans where still unpredictable I can see that it hasn’t changed… Human I have one last question to ask… may I ask it?”

“Flattered and ask away I’m not going anywhere.” I said with normal tone.

“Is your soul good or evil?" She said looking at the floor.

“Neither” I plainly stated.

“Pardon?” Her face shot up to mine with question.

“Neither… my soul is not good or evil its neither, I save as many people as I can. But if I’m ordered to abandon the weak to save others I will do it without question... Even if it means certain death for them.” She looked back at me and stared directly into my eyes I swear that she can see through this faceplate.

“A silver lining a saint but also a demon… I’m afraid you will to stay in this cell until I can think this over.” I didn’t realize it but it was very late the clock on my visor screen showed it 11:49PM.

“May I have your name miss…” I asked.

“Celestia, Princess Celestia and you met my sister Princess Luna I must go now your fate will be decided in the morning.” Must be night here what a big surprise English speaking horses and magical unicorns what next rainbow rivers in a city made of clouds?

Princess Luna’s Pov

“What could be taking my sister so long? I hope she doesn’t hurt him…” why was I so worried about his safety?

“Ahem Princess may I speak freely?” Shining said.

“Yes Shining what is it” I said curious of what he had to say.

“Do you know anything about Humans?” he was obviously scared with having him in the Castle even if he was in the dungeons underneath.

“Not much other than myth and legend, why you ask?” I said.

“To tell you the truth I’m afraid of the human if he wanted he could kill us all and harm our loved ones.” Shining said.

“He won’t kill us and I doubt he could kill all of us anyways… when I was in his dreams I could sense he was afraid of this new world and very confused as well.” He may not show it but he was scared and frightened to be lost in this world… I wanted to hug him and tell him it would be ok… I know how he feels.

“Well what if he tries to escape and destroys the castle?” He said.

“He won’t kill anypony.” I half yelled at him.

“What was that thing that formed out of his face it was like a moving picture?” Shining said.

That was really interesting what kind of magic was he using for that but his world was beautiful and sad to think that it holds so much despair. “I don’t know but we can only hope we can comprehend the concept of it.” Just as we finished Celestia opened the doors and walked in. “Sister! What happened?”

“Well he will stay in the dungeon for tonight until I can think about it some more I can hope to help him as he can’t go back to his world but I fear he might hurt somepony, he may not know it but he has already hurt ponies with just his arrival.”

“Well I will send extra guards to his cell until you decide your highness.” Shining said while walking up to her.

“Shining Please when it’s just us call me Celestia and you are technically part of the family, and tell me how is Cadence I haven’t heard from her in a while?” Celestia said.

“She is good, but this isn’t the situation at hoof.” Shining said putting a hoof to his chin.

“Yes sister what should his fate be?” I said.

“We will see what he is capable of in the morning but for now I must rest.” She walked to the door for her tower.

"Shining I'm going to contact Cadence she should be here to help with him." I said as I walked to the door for my tower.

“Yes Princess Luna and may I have permission to speak to him?” He asked.

“Good and yes find out more maybe you can get him to open up some since you are both military." I told him before I opened up my door.

Captain’s Pov

I decided I would stay one night under captive situation so fare looks like the guards keep their distance. I couldn’t stop thinking about humanity’s past that with the 20000 year old citadels that dates back farther than the first known human civilization. The guards must think I’m asleep because they began to relax some and I could hear them whispering to one another. I began humming a tune I heard while I was in Russia the name was Katyusha this tune always kept me calm when trying to go to sleep overseas. I began to think back to before I was in the Military actually right before I joined I was ten and I remembered the park I was at with my mother she sat at a bench reading a newspaper and I played in the grass by a tree less than four ft. away, I remember the blue sky with little clouds out and a warm sun, then I heard some yelling and seen my mom get up I could not see her face. Then a bright light and my hearing was gone but it was dark to… “What?” I said as I was brought back to the reality.

“Hey can you hear me?!” Someone was yelling at me.

I flipped on my speakers. “What is it you want?” I said as I put my hand up to reach for nothing more as a stretch.

“I wanted to talk with you and talk about military stuff.” The one called Shining asked

“Right I'm stuck in a world of talking ponies. what next? A giant Rainbow Laser gun? Anyways I suppose you have a lot of questions… ask away.” I said sitting up on the little bed i was on.

“Well for starters what is your rank?” I was about to reply when my computer put up a small window showing my mechanical damage and need of repair.

“Well I’m a Captain in the AF Navy.” I started by taking off my gloves and detaching the metal mechanical right arm.

“What are you Doing?” he seemed to be taken back by me detaching my right arm only to have my real arm under it.

“I’m doing repair.” He watched as I took off my other arm.

“You have no fur?” I examined it seeing the hydraulics are damaged and need repair and the armor is damaged as well nothing my repair Drone won’t fix.

“Yes.” I still had my helmet on to examine the damage by now I had my arms off and laying on the side but in order for me to get it all off I needed to take my torso parts off which would be easy if I had a heavy robotic arm that can carefully take it off and detach the chest from the back piece.

I laid down on my stomach and bang the sound of the metal falling off sounded and the chest piece was laying on the ground.

“Wow that sounds heavy.” He said.

I remained silent, I laid on my back and with another Clank. The Back piece fell down revealing five metal rods from the armor piece, I stood back up to take off my leggings and the rest of my armor pieces like my metal boots.

”What are those?” He pointed a hoof in the direction of the nerve spikes.

I just looked at him and then back down to the back plate on the floor. “Tech... heavy well earned tech.” I took the leggings off quick.  Now fully undressed with nothing on other than my under armor suit that covers most of my body.

I took off my top and traded it for a white t-shirt and threw over my Navy digital camo jacket, Black, gray, and navy blue in a digital pattern showed with my AF flag patch on the right shoulder.

“So that was in your back and that wasn't your skin?” He said

I looked up and seen his face as I pulled off my leggings and changed to my digital camo pants. “Yup it was and this is my skin.” I pulled up my sleeve and showed him my arm.

“wow this is all very… new but why so much armor?” He said.

I pulled out my Kevlar combat vest and strapped it on with no pouches the vest was bare. “I’m a Soldier.” His jaw looked like someone broke it to the left.

“But not even I use that much clothing and armor do all soldiers in your world use that armor?” He half yelled.

“No I’m special.” I was starting to get a tad bit annoyed by some the questions I’m not much of a talker.

“How old are you?” He asked.

“Classified.”

“What is your name then.” He asked.

“Classified.” I realized I haven’t taken off my helmet yet so I turned off my speaker. “Computer I am logging offline.”

“Good Hunting Captain.” The computer voice said before turning off.

I pulled off my helmet and set it down on top of my pile of armor I had in the corner and turned around to see the little pony. “So he does have a face… What should I call you then?”

I thought about it I never have told my name to anyone before except for one person but I had to live with her for two months and she taught me a lot about life and to be able to communicate with civilians better. “Call me by my rank that’s what the others call me anyways.”

“Well Mr. Captain do you have any family?” He asked.

I looked him in the eye. “No… do you?”

“Yes I have my parents who reside in this city and my sister in Ponyville its South of here… and a wife Princess Cadence but I haven’t seen her in a month since I needed to come back to Canterlot to do my job.” He said looking down at the ground.

He seemed to be sad that he hasn't seen his wife with his job. “Tell me what your job is and what your sister is like?”

“Ha I guess it seems fair since you told me your job and rank somewhat, well I’m Captain of the Royal Guard and I command all the guard from Canterlot. And my sister well she is a special pony she is the personal student of Princess Celestia and runs the Library in Ponyville. She loves books and reads like there is no tomorrow.” He said putting a hoof to his chest.

I could tell he was very proud of his sister. “So you know where I exploded from?” I asked.

“Yes I do but that is Classified.” He said with a smirk at me.

“Ok you got me but why are you really here bugging me?” I asked him.

“I’m to watch you as long as the princess says. So yeah no luck on that one... are you hungry?” He said.

I haven’t thought about it but yes I was very hungry. “Yeah I am but i got food with me.” I Pulled out an MRE and my canteen and I took a swig with it.

“What’s in the container?” he asked pointing to the canteen.

I looked back at him. “Water. H2o the basis for all organic life." I said.

“Water what can you do with just water? What about pancakes? That’s what I’m going to order.”

"You will see.” I had about a week’s supply of MREs in my war pack, I opened up the MRE and pulled out all the contents and then poured some water into the bag after about a second it started boiling. “Tedaa! Boiling water to cook my food.” His eyes were wide as he stared at the bag.

“Ok I will be right back to make an order I trust you will be fine until then?”

“Yes I will and don’t worry I like your prison it has a bed.” Hey it was better than sitting in a prison cell in Korea.

“I will ask later why that is confusing.” He said.

As he walked away I went to my pack and found my Holo-pad and began reading some last minute details on the war back home. As I was reading I heard movement from my pack and then an audible. “OWCH!” I carefully opened up the top latch and flipped the cover off only to be assaulted by a pink blur.

“Oh Hiya what you doing on the ground silly?” Came the energetic response of a poofy pink pony.

“Freeze!” I yelled pulling my pistol and aiming it at the pink pony.

“Oh silly me I’m Pinkie!” She had a huge smile on her face somewhat scary… very scary.

“How?” The logic was killing me.

“Well I seen you come into town but you were busy trying to run so I jumped in your big back pack to give you a surprise, WelcometoPonyvillestrangealien invitation to a PARTY!” Streamers shot out from behind her as she jumped into the air.

Why in all the great Earth, Why did I get stuck here? “How did you get into my pack and how did you just do that?” I asked Still aiming my weapon at her.

“With my Party Cannon of course Silly!” she reached behind her and pulled out a cannon the same size as her without the poofy hair seemingly out of nowhere. The Cannon then blasted out streamers onto the wall and making a Welcome to Equestria Alien Hero Party banner on the wall. My brain cannot comprehend such magnitude of her law breaking Physics.

“What’s going on I Heard screaming?!” Shining was back with five guards.

“Hi Twilight’s BBBFF you just arrived in time for a PARTY!” Pinkie yelled out.

“Pinkie How in Equestria did you get in here!?” Shining said.

I lowered my pistol back into it’s holster. "Easy I was in his saddle bag when he arrived." She said.

Just as she finished Princess Luna walked up behind Shining. “Why is everypony running around? Human are you ok?”

“Yes I am thanks for asking." I said.

“Pinkie why are you here?” She asked.

“To Party silly Luna!” Pinkie yelled out.

Luna’s face went blank. “Well if we are to have a Party I suggest we do it some other time Shining you may leave and Pinkie… You may stay in the guest room until tomorrow…and Human can we get you some blankets?” She asked

I looked at her with confusion. “Is it custom here to treat your prisoners with such hospitality?” I said.

“No... but you are the first human here that is recorded and it’s our duty you’re comfortable.” She said.

I nodded “I will be fine.” She just stared at me for a moment, I could see her eyes weld up some. Why does she care so much? I went over to the bed and sat down picking up my holo-pad.

“See you in the morning Captain.” Luna looked behind her to see Shining looking at me.

“Your name is Captain?” She asked.

“No but it’s something you can call me for now.” They both walked away, Lucky me they didn't know what a firearm is because I still have all my weapons other than my bayonet and combat knife. Why do they show me hospitality and hostility? Too much for one day I guess.
