It Was an Honest Mistake!
Rainbow Dash’s ears swiveled as an interesting noise broke her out of her peaceful slumbering. She was resting on a cloud for one of her afternoon naps in Sweet Apple Acres, but an event she heard happening below her captured her attention. She thought she heard Fluttershy’s voice, but that didn’t make too much sense, considering Fluttershy had picked up her order of apples from this year’s crop yesterday. Maybe Winona was sick? No, that didn’t make sense either, because Winona was with Granny Smith and Appleboom, who were visiting Appleloosa.
She didn’t feel like getting up just yet, and as such, tried to go back to sleep; alas, her attempts were useless, as she soon heard Fluttershy’s voice. Was Fluttershy looking for her? Nah, no way could she know that she was up here.
She rose up slowly, fluttering her wings, and then angled her body downwards, pushing the cloud slightly closer to the ground. She landed on the cloud once more, and tried to hear what Fluttershy was saying.
“Big Macintosh! I’m here, for the –uh– ‘thing’!”
Hmm, interesting. This should be good. Hehe!
Fluttershy pawed at the ground as Big Mac approached her.
“Oh, there you are! I was starting to get worried you wouldn’t show up! Oh, um, not that I doubt your reliability!”
“Eeyup.”
“Oh, um, anyway, did you bring ‘it’?”
“Eeyup.”
Rainbow Dash’s eyes widened as she witnessed the two leaning closer. From her angle, she could only see the back of Fluttershy, but she was positive she was about to see some good stuff!
Ohmygosh they’re totally gonna kiss!
As Fluttershy pulled back, Rainbow Dash looked to the sky, and then promptly bolted away, realizing what time it was. Judging by where the Sun was, it was about noon. She had somehow let Rarity goad her into joining the rest of the group for a trip to the spa.
Rainbow Dash barely held in chuckle.
She was gonna have fun telling the others about this!

“And then, she leaned in closer to him, and they totally kissed!”
Rainbow Dash had the rapt attention of the entire room. They were all relaxing in a hot tub, waiting for Fluttershy to arrive. She was late, for reasons Rainbow Dash knew.
Twilight’s eyes were gleaming with the prospect of a new science experiment, somehow managing to ignore Pinkie bouncing up and down right next to her. Rarity had the look that only a romantic at heart could manage to produce, while Applejack could only look on in confusion.
“Wow, that’s interesting! I wonder if they’d let me run tests about chemical reactions in the brain when in the presence of the one they love?”
“I gotta tell ya RD, I never woulda suspected that o’ mah brother!”
“Darling, we must throw them a-“
“-PARRRTY!!!!!”
“Actually, Pinkie, I was going to say soirée.”
Fluttershy then walked in. The room fell silent.
Fluttershy paused in confusion.
Twilight pulled a quill and notepad out of nowhere.
Rarity took a breath, and trotted forward, to handle the situation carefully, as they were, in fact, dealing with Fluttershy.
“Fluttersh–“
Pinkie Pie jumped in front of Fluttershy.
“WHEN ARE YOU AND BIG MAC GETTING MARRIED?!”
Fluttershy only had time to blush –changing her coat to a nice shade of pink– before fainting with a barely audible squeak.
Rarity cocked an annoyed eyebrow at Pinkie.
“No offense, darling, but you should really leave the delicate situations to me.”

Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes, the concerned faces of each of her friends all coming into focus. She then noticed that she was laying on the floor of the spa.
Pinkie Pie drew a large breath, preparing to question Fluttershy, however, Rarity stopped her with a hoof to the mouth.
“Darling, we did not mean to frighten you, we just wanted to know about your blossoming relationship with Big Macintosh!”
Confusion, and a blush, spread its way through Fluttershy’s features.
“W-what? I’m not dating Big Mac!”
Rainbow Dash noticeably twitched.
“But I saw you kiss him!”
Fluttershy’s cheeks once more went ketchup-red and she probably would have fainted, had she not already been on the floor.
“W-what? I didn't kiss Big Mac! H-he just gave me this, to return to you, Twilight!”
She gestured to the doll, recognized to be Smarty Pants; she had dropped it when she fainted.
“Remember, after the whole Want-it-Need-it accident? H-he ran off with your doll! He decided to finally return it to you.”
Dash’s eyes crinkled up in confusion. She had seen Flutters leaning her muzzle toward Big Mac’s!
Wait, Earth ponies and Pegasus ponies didn’t have magic to grab things with. She was probably just-
Rainbow Dash face-hoofed. And began muttering.
“Darling, you seem to have forgotten that most ponies have to grab things with their mouths. Although, I admit they would have been a very cute couple!”
Rainbow Dash looked a little disappointed
“Hmm, I was positive that there was something juicy going on!”
Fluttershy, who was in the process of trying to get back up, collapsed right back onto the floor.
Rainbow Dash promptly panicked, and flew over and hovered over the unconscious Fluttershy.
“Fluttershy? Fluttershy! Are you okay! It was an honest mistake!”
Rarity looked rather irritated, tapping her hoof lightly on the ground. She shook her head, as if to rid herself of the perceived thoughtlessness of everypony in the room.
“Why must I be the only one with some semblance of tact?”

Today I learned that it’s a bad idea to assume things about Fluttershy. I, uh, thought I saw her kissing Big Mac! Uh oops? I mean, she fainted like, twice when we asked her about it, which is kinda weird, but I guess it’s just Fluttershy being, well, Fluttershy!

She snickered a bit while continuing to look through her telescope towards Ponyville, and more specifically, Sweet Apple Acres.
