The Adventures of the Tri Knights: The Rising

The days have been brighter in Equestria since the coronation of Princess Twilight Sparkle. The future looked to be a pleasant one. Our story begins in the Canterlot library, with an assistant. A young unicorn colt of average height, with a dull grey coat and a black highlighted brown mane and tail. His cutie mark was that of a thought bubble mostly seen in comics and graphic novels with a question mark in the center. His golden eyes wandered the book in front of his face. The cover reads, Equestrian Historic Battles and the look upon his face was full of interest and fascination. "Thought Trotter!" A distant feminine voice calls him. "Coming ma'am!" He responds, sigh in disappointment of having to put down such an interesting book.

As he walked into the hallway to the lobby of the library. Standing at the desk was none other than Princess Twilight. "Princess Twilight!?" He shouts shocked and surprised. He bows to her but was dismissed by the princess. "So you are the unicorn I have heard so much about." He raises his head and tilts it in confusion. "Me? What so special about me princess?" She walked out of the library exclaiming, "Follow me, I'll explain why." He hesitated a bit and followed her. They later began to walk the gardens of the palace, surrounded by so much flora and fauna the garden had more of a zoo feel then a garden. "You are probably wondering why I called you to the palace?" The princess spoke, sounding a tad concerned.

Thought Trotter followed behind her still admiring the scenery but not enough to distract him from her question. "As a matter of fact, yes I am ma'am." She led him to a separate building of the palace. Inside was a round table in the center of the room with multiple corridors along the sides of the walls. "This is the Chamber of Harmony." Princess Twilight exclaims. Thought Trotter's jaw dropped in awe. "You mean the meeting place of the Knights of Harmony!?" She nods her head, she walks over to the largest chair and hands him a scroll. "Hm? What's this?" He asks. He opens it and reads.

I, Princess Twilight Sparkle, hereby decree that the unicorn, Thought Trotter shall be recruited for the formation of a new team of defense for Equestria. Supervised and trained by the Knights of Harmony this team's goal shall be to protect this great nation of Equestria. The team shall consist of three very talented ponies; one unicorn, one earth-pony and one pegasus.

He is in immediate shock from what he had just read. "You want me to be a protector?" She nods in agreement. "I wish for you to be a Tri Knight." Now the look of shocked had changed to confusion yet again. "Let me explain, a Tri Knight is a part of a team of three ponies that work together to protect the ponies of Equestria." He has a look of anxiety and shock upon his face. "I shall give you as much time as you need to think it over." She dismisses him by teleporting him back to the lobby of the library.

That night his thoughts wandered on multiple factors; danger, adventure, friends, learning, back to danger. He thinks to himself in his bed, "A Tri Knight? Me? Am I truly worthy? And what of the other two?" The next morning he went through his normal routine and went to work. He finished the book had been reading and on the last page it said,

"In all ponies are the potential to be a hero or a villain, it is up to them to decide what they should or should not do."

He gulped and wrote a quick letter and sent it to the princess. He recites the letter in his head, "Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle, I am writing you to accept your offer of being a Tri Knight."
